Went for a late lunch. I had hummus with pitta and salad, my friend the lunch croissant. Very tasty and good portion. The salad was good with croutons and a nice dressing.

Superb place! Quite small and quiet but very peaceful. I only give 4/5 as the coffee was pretty bland but not unacceptable. The service, food and presentation is excellent. We had brunch and lunch within our group of 3. Breakfasts are served all day! The staff and chef went out of their way to be helpful. The fresh juices are expensive but freshly made and wonderful. We will return!

Walking around the city, looking for a place for lunch, I saw this little restaurant that looked really nice and decided to give it a try. I'm very satisfied with my choice, although I don't know why it has the "swiss" part in its name! There is nothing swiss about it in the menu or otherwise. It has a nice variety of "healthy" choices and a really excellent cappuccino that I had after lunch. Quick and friendly service, perfect for a quick bite to eat in a nice, quiet, environment

***Dangerous Place to Eat*** Recently I stepped into Cafe Swiss for a quick bite of lunch with my partner who is severely allergic to all tree nuts. She is always exteremely careful wherever we go and carries medication at all times. She ordered a avocado on toast with egg which comes with a side salad. This is a nut free option on the menu and she had no reason to suspect that nuts would be in her order. After eating her lunch she began to have a small but worrying reaction to her food. After quickly realising that she was having a reaction to something that she had ingested, we quickly asked the staff as to whether there were any nuts in anything that we had ordered. They said no there wasnt and kindly offered an anti-histimine pill for my partner. We quickly paid (regretfully) and rushed back to our car which was parked outside so we could have easy access to the epi-pen. We also rushed home (5 mins away) to get access to stronger medication. This was obviously a very very distressing experience and as my partners lips, throat and face started to swell more, we were very worrried. Thankfully the reaction began to level out as medication kicked in and fortunately no hospital trip was required. I then subsequently phoned Cafe Swiss multiple times on the landline to try and let them know that there had perhaps been some cross contamination in their kitchen. Afetr several attempts to get in touch via the phone, I had no success in reaching anyone. This was obviously frustrating and I was very keen to make sure they identified the source of allergic reaction- which we suspect had been a nut throughout the side salad. After this, I reached out to Cafe Swiss via their main social media channel, Instagram, and explained the situation, not chasing a refund, just trying to alert them to their cross-contimanation issue. I wanted to purely alert them as to avoid any more related incidents. Whilst my partner's immediate symptoms (lips and throat swelling) had subsided, she contiuned to feel very unwell and missed several appointments throughout the day and was later unable to go to work later that evening. I reiterated in the message my unwillingness to leave a negative public review- just to resolve the issue. The message has seemingly not been seen and after a few more phone calls, I had to give up trying to get in contact. The lack of communication has been the most disappointing factor and this review now serves as a warning to anyone else thinking of visiting. After giving them ample oppurtunity to sort this privately I now wish to warn others of very clear and dangerous allergen issues within Cafe Swiss. The blatant unwillingness to interact with any customers across all of their platforms is appalling and their clear indiffernce to allergens is quite astounding. This was a very scary experience and thankfully it did not wind up a more serious sitaution as we had medication close to hand, however do not go to Cafe Swiss if you are someone who suffers with severe allergies! I doubt the propieter of Cafe Swiss check negative feedback however if they are reading this, please respond to my private Instagram message where you will find my personal phone number. Jack K

On a Friday morning at 10:15, U3A Glasgow West End Play Reading Group met here to read a play called A Slim Chance. The service was cheerful & friendly. I had a pan cake for brunch. Very yummy. Loved their latte. Others had various hot drinks… all enjoyed it. Hope to enjoy some more on their menu at my next visit.

We visit this cafe with our wee dogs regularly, I have to say the food is amazing, you can see the chef takes pride as he personally serves you the food. Small galley style venue with mezzanine level, the dogs look forward to sausages.. all sorts on menu. I like the salmon and scrambled eggs.. and matcha tea, has a selection of cakes too. Give it a try for breakfast or afternoon tea. 🫶

Went in to get some coffee and something to eat but didn't even get the chance to try anything as the service set the poor standard. The waitress literally grunted and scowled at me for daring to ask if downstairs had more seats. I hadn't been there before so didn't know the layout. They can't seem to get basic customer service in place so I wouldn't bother. Loads more of welcome places on Byers road.

I had eggs royal (which was delicious), my friend had the open salmon and cream cheese sandwich (also amazing)! The real star of the show was the pistachio cheesecake. It was honestly the best cheesecake I've ever eaten, so creamy and delicious!! You absolutely must go and get one (or more, they're pretty small). The staff are really nice and friendly, the place is clean and warm. I really loved my visit and will be back!!

The amenities and the decor are a little bit dated. We have been welcomed (well not really welcomed as in fact he was quite abrupt) by a waiter. He wasn’t engaging and welcoming at all. We ordered 2 full breakfasts that were served without any cutlery and one of us had to go and get it from downstairs (not a big deal, but it was part of the non-existing customer service). The food was very average, only thing worth mentioning is the orange juice (we believed it was freshly squeezed). We definitely wouldn’t return.

I was visiting the Riverside museum with my four-year-old son and I just wanted somewhere to sit and have a bite to eat. The staff were very helpful and friendly I got a bacon roll which was just right and a nice cup of tea. My son had some toast and butter along with some snacks from home. The view of the tall ship is really the best part of the cafe although I was pleasantly surprised to see they do serve alcohol during the lunch service. I've included pictures of the menu to help others.

A great location and full of goodies you would not find at weight watchers! Went for two lattes with sides of vic sponge and a Bakewell tart. Thought the tart was a little too wet. Coffees were fine, but what makes me quite cross is when you get dirty cutlery. Photo attached. The detail separates the amateurs from the professionals.

Very disappointed and confused as to when this tea room is actually open until. It seems to be whatever mood they’re in. When you Google it says they close at 5:30 on a Thursday and on trip advisor, open until 6:30 on Thursdays. I was with 1 friend and along with 6 other possible customers we proceeded up the stairs at 5:05 to be told they were closing early today? Was it just that day or in general when open until 5:30 they close at 5:05? We said we only wanted a cup of tea no food and would be done by 5:30 but not interested. If you go into a shop or supermarket that closes at 5:30 they are open to 5:30 not 5:05 very unusual managing of a business.

I have got to be totally honest here. The staff were absolutely fantastic 11/10 but the food was inedible. I mean really bad. The chicken burger although it was very big....was bad. Funny texture.....one of the worst I've had anywhere. The curry was very bland and watery. The steak pie thing was.....I actually doesn't know what to say......I'll stick to real...bad. Absolutely go for the alcohol as they do good offers and it's cheap. The staff honestly just couldn't have been better. Also brilliant with dogs. For food I just couldn't ever recommend.....so so soooooo unfortunate :( x
