Popped in for lunch after work on a Saturday for a bite to eat, the food was great, staff were friendly and attentive, didn't feel like we were in an airport. Lovely

Really nice cafe, cheap and cheerful but the owner was a lovely lady who took the time to chat to us about the airport, surrounding area and kept the cafe open for us specially! Thank you very much for a lovely visit

Had a great meal here as we always do. No planes flying the day we were there. There was only one girl taking orders, cooking food and waiting on tables. So, the service was slow but it wasn't her fault. I did feel sorry for her.Well worth a visit

Flew down for brunch from Fife and enjoyed a great all day breakfast for less than a fiver. Clean and friendly but nothing fancy. Definitely be back.

Cleaner but dearer. £3.50 towards a meal..... how tight, and then £1.25 just for a cup of tea. Thank you mr stobart, considering your so wealthy. Thanks I will try to avoid in the future. The rich just seem to be so gready

Called in here for a lunch break, on my way to Middlesbrough from the Cairnryan Ferry, wishing to see some of the exhibits in the adjacent Solway Air Museum. the Stobart Cafe is small & homely (& quite busy with some aviation enthusiasts) with tables looking out a large window view over much of the airfield. There were some helicopter manoeuvres (Belgian Air force possibly) taking place at the time & got an excellent view of them coming & going. There are also tables outside if you wish to eat outside (the day I called was very hot & sunny and it was more comfortable to stay in the building), ordered food from the pleasant lady at the counter, loved the non-fussy simple food on the menu, suited me perfectly. I opted for Ham, Egg & chips which was brought to my table quickly and the plate was well filled & very tasty, the 'chips' were the skinny fries which my kids prefer (I prefer the more chunky 'proper' chips myself but these were nice enough & tasty) two good thick slices of Ham and two fried eggs, all at very reasonable prices. The building (base of the control tower) shows it's age, but is clean, as were the toilet facilities.Would have called on my return journey (collecting my son from his first year at University) but by the time I was passing they would have been closed, but I will definitely be calling again on my subsequent trips to & from Middlesbrough, as it's a perfect stopping point for a lunch break with nice simple fare and interesting surroundings and decor, especially if you have an interest in aviation.

Great stop for a quick snack while watching the aircraft come and go. Nothing amazing, but standard hot reasonably priced food. No complaints here.

After visiting the aviation museum I had two hungry kids so tried the Stobart Cafe one minute drive from there at Carlisle airport. It's a proper cafe, no airs and graces. Very friendly staff and a good choice of food, with a kids menu. Kids had scampi and I had the cheese and onion pie. Would definitely recommend and return again if in the area.

Nice little cafe at the very quiet Carlisle airport. Nice view of old planes driving up to it, including a magnificent Vulcan. We have a lorry mad little boy, and despite the lack of Stobar lorries he was still chuffed about seeing Stobart written everywhere. The food was lovely and good value. We had a cooked breakfast, a baked potatoe and a panini. As a bonus a group of helicopter pilots and trainees had food in the cafe too, so all in all it was a very exciting lunch.

This wee cafe was surprisingly good. Lovely views out over the hills with a small amount of aircraft action as a bonus! Only takes cash though, so be prepared (we weren't and so couldn't all eat!).

The food is always fresh and home made. Reasonably priced and you get a good view of the runways from inside the cafe. If the weather is nice, they have benches outside.

Charming little place at the airport, you can watch aircraft out the big picture windows. I have to comment on the bathroom, it was super clean but it felt like I stepped back in time about 70 years. Very quaint place and good prices and service.

Very functional, very clean, this little cafe tucked under the control tower has comfortable seating with great views of a small working airport and beyond, the mountains of the Lake District. The food is superb, freshly cooked and great value for money ; the menu offers a good choice. Service is friendly and with some of the on-going conversations and the location, you could almost believe you were sitting in a small flying club. There's even a photo album of airport history for customers to peruse. Conveniently close to the Solway Aviation Museum. Past diners include Harry Wales.

Situated under the Air Traffic Control facility, this cafe operates during the working day of Carlisle airport just off the A69. Although the decor etc is somewhat functional, the food provided is simply excellent value for money. For example, sausage, egg and chips for a fiver, and good portions as well. It is all freshly cooked, and so a short delay is inevitable before it is served. On a nice day you have the magnificent view of the northern part of the Lake District. Off the beaten track, this little gem has been a well kept secret for years for the locals to enjoy. It is however extremely well known to the aviators who visit this beautiful part of the world. Only this week a Qatar 777 pilot (on holiday) happened to pop in for lunch whilst passing through the area. Now that is word of mouth.

Ordered from here a number of times since reopening and unfortunately EVERY SINGLE TIME there has been something wrong with the order. They've either charged us double for items, wrongly added up or there has been missing items that we've paid for! Always gave them the benefit of the doubt as thought there newly opening and everywhere has teething problems. But yet again, tonight being the final straw. Phoned up to say we were missing x4 items following collecting our order, they promised to deliver these missing items and never have. Extremely disappointed won't be returning.

This is the second time we have been here now. The first time was just for some take away chips and curry sauce. Returned a few weeks later again on the way home from the lakes and had the pensioners special (we aren’t pensioners). Perfect size if you aren’t starving. Fish was lovely with light crispy batter, lovely chips and again … their amazing curry sauce with the bits in. This place (plaice) is lovely and clean. As a lot of fish and chip places can be a bit on the grubby side so keep up the good work.
