Cafe Salmagundi in Glasgow City

Been here a few times. Food is always delicious and am always welcomed like a family friend by the staff. If you're in the southside, take a trip down and treat yourself to the best potato scones you'll ever have.

Its an absolutely lovely place. The coffee is brilliant and the people in the kitchen are loving food. You can taste this with every bite - highly recommended. Cake is pretty good, too

Hipster cafe run by hipsters for hipsters. Food tasty enough, but service extremely slow. Had finished two coffees before food from limited menu of maybe eight options or so arrived. Throughout the visit takeaway customers stood very close to our table. Given the Covid-19 situation this made us feel a little uncomfortable. Even without this situation it would be unpleasant having sweaty joggers arses standing right beside your food. The door regularly blew in quite a cold wind - this was a relief. Once takeaway customers had ordered they were asked to stand outside. It feels like they need a redesign to decide if they are a takeaway or a cafe. Tables were distanced and staff wore masks etc. The food; mushroom on toast and potato scone stack was very tasty. In terms of value for money, £25 including drinks, it felt overpriced given the location and general standards within the cafe. Someone staff members seemed open to offering a normal/ expected level of customer service. However others presented very poorly, and some of the conversation coming from the kitchen indicated the staff would rather be elsewhere!

Mi esposa y yo vinimos a tomar un café y pasteles, ¡no nos decepcionó! Recibimos una cálida bienvenida y el servidor nos pareció muy útil. El café era muy bueno y los 3 pasteles eran frescos y muy sabrosos. Se lo recomendaría a todos.
