Lovely service, nice meals, good prices. The surrounds are standard, but you are here for a reasonably priced bite and the flowers.

Mean attitude towards elderly. We could not pay for breakfasts and leave items. Does it matter who has the smaller sizes?

Hard to find this establishment on TripAdvisor as the cafe is in Roses Garden Centre. It is in a row of 3 garden centres and is the most reasonable.Cafe Rosie is light and airy and all on the flat, there are toilets there as well. They have a very varied menu and daily specials. We only had coffee as there doesnt seem to be Gluten Free options due to the inability to isolate certain wheat containing foods. However it was very nice there as it was our first but not last visit.

Wonderful lunch today in cafe Rosie. On the specials board we chose Shepherds pie and a Pork apple and sage pie. Both came with vegetables and gravy. Absolutely delicious. They also have a lovely brand of coffee. Thank you.

A large pot of tea and two English breakfasts were perfect. Good quality ingredients served on hot plates. The tea pot served 4 cups. The staff were friendly and efficient and the premises were clean. A party of 4 plus children came out of the free play area and bought a pot of tea for one and then proceeded to get cans of drink and their own food out of their bags.

Had a great time today at Roses Garden Centre with my 2 year old nephew. We enjoyed a good quality English breakfast, chose to sit outside and my nephew loved the outdoor play equipment. Staff were friendly and food was served timely. Then we used the indoor soft play area which my nephew absolutely loved. It was also really clean and obviously well looked after. Bought a couple of nice products from the shop. Will definitely be returning.

A nice cafe, good coffee, cakes and food. The garden centre is not bad value either. Their covid safety arrangements are well thought out and work well.

We popped into Rosie's today for a quick snack. I immediately ordered 2 coffees with sandwiches, one of them toasted. The coffee arrived within 5 minutes but we found ourselves still waiting for the food 40 minutes later. People were coming in after us & being served their food! In the time we had been there, the people that were in front of me when ordering had been served a cooked meal & even finished it & we were still waiting. I eventually went to the counter to enquire as to why we were still waiting & as I did this another gentleman had the same question for them. He had waited 20 minutes for his soup! I was told they were just being prepared, hence, We waited a further 10 minutes, so I went to the counter to get a refund, telling them it was ridiculous to have to wait 50 minutes for such a simple dish! My husband was on his way out of the door when the sandwiches came out, so we had to sit to eat them. There were at least 4 staff working there & it wasn't particularly busy. They just weren't organised.

We visited cafe Rosie to use the soft play equipment which was brilliant. Perfect for our kids who are 2&3. We also purchased kids meals, jacket with chilli and a cheese scone. Prices were about right although service was extremely slow and food was plonked down on the table with not even a smile. The kids cutlery was brought over about 15mins later by a different lady who was much nicer. Will defo be back to use the soft play but doubt we will use the cafe again

Popped in for coffee and tea during heavy rain whilst shopping. Prices reasonable and well laid out, but waited 15 minutes for just a tea and coffee to be delivered, too long really when the café was only half full. Menu looked good.

We found this cafe as result of detouring to buy plants on our way to visit a relative in Mid Wales. Set in a proper plant nursery. We visited on the way there and way back. The ambience was good: no loud piped music, floor and tables clean. Good coffee on 1st visit and one of the best cheese scones I have ever had in a garden centre. Although we arrived after 3pm on 2nd the person serving made up baguettes freshly. Salad was not just the usual 1 slice of tomato and a lettuce leaf that you get in more corporate establishments. We will probably take same detour again.

Rude staff in the cafe and would not rate it on cleanliness either. Dull atmosphere to say the least. Young man in the shop was very helpful and one of the positive sides to this business.

Stopped in for a bite to eat for breakfast and ordered two bacon baguette to take away . Ordered some juices which were lovely . This is where the positivity stops . After dealing with a curt lady at the till who had the immense stress of making two coffees I was surved . Ordered two bacon baguette at nearly £5 each . Sat down to wait . 10 mins later they arrived I took them to the car. Well .... disgusting . Bacon barely cooked . Oven cooked baguettes were raw . Totally inedible! I personally would of been embarrassed to serve this . New to the area and thought we would give it a try but would recommend anyone to drive past and use the garden centre next door ! Much better !

Popped into Roses garden centre and decided to try Cafe Rosie. We were greeted with a smile, the tea and scones (homemade) were quickly served and very enjoyable. We shall go again when we pass that way

It is a bit of a throwback to a bygone age.Quirky forties feel to it which I found quite appealing. We only had soup and a roll and a pot of tea for two but it was delightful and we will definitely be visiting again.

We dropped in for a quick snack and coffee on our way through and sadly wished that we had not, as it took over an hour to serve soup, which my companion said was good and a baked potato, which did what it said on the tin

Cafe Rosie is situated in one of three garden centres in very close proximity on the outskirts of Newent. Whilst not as big as the neighbouring Three Shires garden centre, it has a good selection of products and of course Cafe Rosie. It is clean bright, has a good selection of meals and snacks and all at very reasonable prices. Add that to pleasant attentive and polite staff and i makes for a cafe worth visiting.

We visit this garden centre quite regularly and often have a snack or afternoon tea. The garden centre is well stocked and reasonably priced. The café is very good and the food is freshly prepared, tasty and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially the team in the café. The only thing that lets this garden centre down are the toilets. They really are awful. On our most recent visit, the toilets looked as though they hadn't been cleaned since the last time we visited about a month before. My husband needed to use the gents but he said it was so filthy that he used the disabled one instead, which he went on to say, wasn't much better.

We like this cafe ! Nice staff, and tea, coffee and cakes are all good. Its meals are simple - e.g. panini, baked potatoes, pizzas, soup - but again all good. The room is nicely decorated and spacious, with tables not too close together, and a children's play area right outside. We thought the toilets were fine. The cafe is in a large but independently run garden centre, which has an interesting range of gifts. Like another reviewer, we used to go to the big, well-known garden centre and cafe next door, but this cafe is much quieter and nicer. We use it when on nearby walks e.g. Betty Daw's Wood nature reserve, or Dymock Woods, or round the lake in Newent, or the walk inside the Three Choirs Vineyard just up the road.

We used to go to the larger garden centre next door for a lunch break on the way from Aberystwyth to our daughter in Basingstoke. However, the cafe/restaurant there has not impressed on recent visits so we looked at this little enterprise. It's hidden deep in the Rose's Country Fayre garden centre. It's never been crowded and in the couple of times we have called, we have received excellent service and food. The soups have been delicious and filling and they do a proper bacon butty, on thin bread and with crispy bacon. Prices are very reasonable. The only quibble is that the toilets are adequate only.

My husband and I tried to get tea and cake yesterday afternoon. I am disabled and struggled into the garden to be met by a very unhelpful man who simply said 'its lunch' in response to my husband's polite query! When he enquired further, the response was: 'I'll get you a menu but if you just want tea, there's a tea bar over the road!' Needless to say we didn't bother or wait for the menu! Proprietor should remember it's the customers that keep businesses like this going and respond appropriately! Like another reviewer comments: Bring a packed lunch and enjoy the riverside beauty!!! The person we encountered was really rude and unhelpful!

Been before and was disappointed , left it a while hoping things had improved but sadly still very poor quality. The fish was thin inside the batter, and had zero flavour . No flaking or creaminess to the fish at all just tasted of nothing really. Not a big chip fan anyway but had a small scoop but they turned out to be dried out brittle short what we used to call scrumps and were normally thrown out . But anyway they served them and charged handsomely for them . Needless to say they went straight into the bin . Most disappointed as it used to be top notch , with nice lemon wedge and paper wrapped . Now the carbon wastage via cardboard boxes and paper and plastic is diabolical . Sadly won't bother anymore , but good luck anyway. Cheers Fred

Very welcoming, accepts dogs, good English food, very reasonably priced and lovely service. Inside it’s a bit worn down and dated but didn’t bother us as it had everything we wanted.
