Popped in for a spot of lunch and we both had sandwiches and the garlic loaded fries , they were absolutely delicious , maybe a bit of a wait (not unreasonable) but are made to order so very very fresh , good portions will definitely visit again

Good food reasonably priced with gluten free options. Staff were helpful and friendly! We would certainly go back in the future!

Great place for food located in a food court where the usual dull offerings of pizza , pasta and muffins etc are all to common . This place should be your only choice . The staff are welcoming friendly and make you feel relaxed from the minute you are shown to your seat . The menu has excellent variety and has a gluten free option in available for nearly all the choices . It amazes me how a small kitchen can produce the quality of food without a wait is testament to the skills of the chefs Waiting staff are always on hand to cater for your needs with friendly efficiency. Excellent Food , Excellent Service You won’t be disappointed

If I could give it no stars, I would.due to the attitude of the manager. Total ned! Other staff were lovely, however when we were waiting to be seated, we were ignored. Would have been nice to get acknowledged. It only went downhill after that. Waited more than 50 minutes for a burger and a wrap. I asked if the burger would be big enough for my 10 years old to share as it was nearly £15 and was told yes. The drinks were brought over half an hour before we got our food. When it did come, we were starving and the portions are very small. My wrap was £7 which was fine but there wasn't much more to the burger at over £14. When I went to pay, I didn't leave a tip as the electronic payment method asks if u want to so I told the waitress we had waited 50 minutes and that I felt the portion sizes were very small especially the burger Special. That was all I said. I didn't complain.. I basically passed on my comments. They waitess walked away so I sat and waited on my receipt as I assumed she was getting it. We sat for a few minutes and another member of staff asked if we were finishing up. I explained yes and that I was just waiting on my receipt. She went to get it and that's when the manager marched up with a stinking attitude. She said. . OK what's the problem?? I said no problem, I just commented to the waitress why I wasn't leaving a tip.. to which she butted in and said I didn't need to explain not leaving a tip. I told her we waited 50 minutes and the portions were fairly small and overpriced. She started arguing saying the staff were busy and oing their best and the special is only pennies dearer than a normal burger. Not sure why this is relevant as i still felt it was overpriced. And then something about me not waiting 50 minutes. I said I did wait 50 minutes and asked why she had such an attitude. She said she didn't.. but my goodness she did. It was very uncomfortable and my children had to sit and witness this. She then asked what did I want..a discount? I said no, just my receipt so I could get out of there. In between all of this, my children also witnessed the female chef eating while preparing food ..it really says it all. I would have perhaps revisited had it not been for how the manager spoke to me. I didn't even ask for the manager. So if you wait 50 min for a burger and a chicken wrap and pay £30 for the privilege, don't dare say a word to your waitress after paying or you'll get a dressing down by a major ned head who shouldn't be working in customer service. Absolute vile women.

This restaurant is clearly underated should have a Michelin star! My husband and i frequent Michelin star restaurants all the time and we felt that this was definitely one! The food was mouth-wateringly good, absolutely superb and the waiters were so attentive and friendly. The whole dining experience was superb and we hope it gets the Michelin star it deserves

Visited with my daughter yesterday what a great place we had the crispy chicken burgers and they were amazing ..staff were fantastic nothing too much bother. Will defo be back

AnneMarie remembered us and as always gave excellent service also Sophie was very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Ricos is definitely worth a visit the food is amazing every visit.

Annmarie was our waitress today. Her service was outstanding she was very polite and not intrusive however looked after us. Food was delicious - We were even allowed to order kids portion as normal was too much for us. We will return for sure and the loyalty card makes a return journey more attractive.

Went to Rico's for lunch today as we always do when we go to East Kilbride. Food fab as always have never had a bad lunch. Staff very attentive and friendly. Today we were served by Alex, who is just a young pup at twenty years old, not a gamer but does like going to the gym to workout,not fond of the drink either unless it a bottle of corporation wine!!! (That's water). A bit shy is our Alex but friendly which is another reason to visit Rico's, not just fab food with a Portuguese twist but friendly staff, great place to pop into for a light snack or lunch. Also would recommend there coffee and just new to there menu to get you in the mood for summer they are now doing cocktails. 5 stars for Rico's. From Erin

Having eaten at the restaurant yesterday I thoroughly enjoyed it, the food was amazing and the two boys who served me I believe their names were Alex and Jamie were lovely and attentive. Great service!

We have lunch here often. The food is excellent catering for all dietary requirements. Staff excellent and friendly, AnneMarie and Logan were on today and both were very friendly and helpful.Highly recommended.

First time customers, popped in after an event in Waterstone’s. It was so nice to be sat in a booth away from the Saturday madness of the shopping centre. We were served quickly and our servers were super friendly.My daughter ordered a kids cheese & ham toastie (which comes with salad, chips and a drink). I had piri wrap and added the Portuguese soup for an extra £1.50. My sister ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich. All of the food was made fresh to order but we weren’t waiting that long at all (my daughters meal came first which was perfect). The soup was SO good - never tried anything like it before and really want the recipe. The chargrilled chicken had such a great flavour too. I just wish there had been a bit more spice but I do like things to be hot so know to ask for extra spice.Perfect spot for lunch with a fab Portuguese twist on everything. Breakfast menu looked great too so would love to come back and visit soon. Relaxed atmosphere with quality food.

Had a lovely breakfast with my husband on a Wednesday Morning. Food was lovely and the waitress with the purple hair was lovely and professional.

Popped in for a coffee and sandwich whilst out shopping today, sorry to say wish we hadn’t bothered...........a cappuccino, really nice, a coke, roast ham sandwich and tuna mayo sandwich......firstly, pet hate.....drinks came 10-15 mins before the food (two sandwiches?), I get that everything is freshly prepared, allegedly, and don’t mind waiting at all for lovely food........but, the brown bread with my tuna was dry, no butter inside with a scraping of tuna may that didn’t appear to have much, if any, mayo! Roast ham on white bread sadly wasn’t any better, bread was fresh but no butter, barely a slice of what appeared to be supermarket packaged ham and that was it, along with some soggy salad.......these have to be the least impressive sandwiches we have had in a long time. How hard can it be to make a delicious sandwich? We returned both sandwiches, received a disinterested apology, paid for our drinks and left! Asked if we wanted anything else but were already running a little late by that time. Overall service was perfunctory and no-one bothered to investigate what was wrong. First visit, last visit.

Think some of the staff there would benefit from a customer service course...... attitude is shocking and a smile wouldn’t go amiss. Was only in to buy takeaway but now don’t think I would go back for sit in meal.

Have been here twice now & both visits were great - food portions big but not too big. Food absolutely tasty & the staff are very friendly & welcoming. Probably will be back. Give this a try- it’s fab!

This is a real find. Very pleasant and helpful staff, the food is lovely and very reasonably priced. The gluten free options are great, especially the bread, which is sourced from a local bakery.

Breakfast was amazing and the girl serving was lovely! Only fault we found was that online it states they open at 9am but when we got there we were told it opened at 10am so a bit annoying having to wait around.

Popped in on a busy Saturday morning for some brekkie. The food was excellent, the vegetarian breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a long time - lovely poached eggs, veggie sausages and mushroom bonbons. A nice twist on traditional fayre that is served elsewhere. Service was very good and although we had to wait a wee bit for our food it was worth it as it was freshly made and tasty.

I love this place. The food is amazing always freshly made. The staff are always welcoming and pleasant. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are great. Best place to eat in the town centre.

What has happened at Rico's? A question I will come back to in a sec. Ended up here through default as my usual eatery near by was full and thank goodness it was or I might never have had the experience that has propelled me to not only write this review, but also speak directly to the chefs to make sure they knew the healthy start breakfast of poached eggs (cooked to perfection) with smashed avocado, grilled halloumi, sitting on a thick slice of lightly toasted crunchy bread with a homemade spinach pesto and grilled on the vine tomatoes, they had just served me was sublime in presentation and taste. Food served like this is not normally found locally.

Great place for a nice lunch ,menu has a great choice of different food from sandwiches to pasta.Staff are so welcoming and so polite .

I'll say first of all that if I didn't have a wheat intolerance, I would rate this café 4/5. The food our group ordered was all very tasty and the menu had a great range. There were lots of gluten/wheat free options which was what encouraged me to ask our group if we could visit for lunch. The service was a bit slow but it was extremely busy so this was fine and to be expected.

We have now visited Rico’s a handful of times over the last few months for lunch and I’ve been meaning to leave a positive review.

Went for lunch and was well impressed with the new look of the place.The staff are so lovely and so friendly the place has a good vibe .The food came and it was well presented and tasted amazing .

I was in Rico’s today and had a lovely lunch. The service was very quick and the food was delicious. This was my first time here and I will definitely be back.

Took my elderly mum for a quick bite to eat, pleasantly surprised, lovely home made lentil soup and chunky sandwiches no scrimping on the filing, pleasant serving staff and clean surroundings. No alcohol served though soft drinks and tea/coffees only.

Had a fabulous breakfast here today. Everything was hot and perfectly cooked. It’s also a great size and at 2 for £10 including tea or coffee is great value. Staff were also friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back soon.

Dropped in for late lunch as was very quiet 4 tables filled. Service was painfully slow with staff propping up service area . Wouldn't recommend if you looking for a friendly service that was prompt. Not looking for fast food but looking for service that has some sort of life

I have been a visitor at Rico's for awhile now and felt it was about time I left a review for them. If you're visiting East Kilbride shopping centre and you're Coeliac - this is the restaurant for you. The majority of the menu can be made gluten free and it's fantastic to have such a big selection. The staff are incredible and always so friendly and happy. The prices are brilliant and you always walk away feeling like you got wonderful food at a great price.

Visited East Kilbride shopping centre today and decided to have a lunchtime snack. After looking at a few of the options available, many of which seemed a bit overpriced we ended up going into Rico's. We were greeted by a very nice and plesant waitress. We ended up choosing a toastie and tea. On its arrival the toastie came with a side salad and techno chips and the tea came in a lovely big mug. The food was very enjoyable and having the big mug of tea to wash it down wash brill.

Had a fantastic cooked breakfast here on Saturday. They offer 2 cooked breakfasts for £10 and that includes tea or coffee!

A wide selection of Gluten Free choices, including delicious sweats,cakes etc. Main courses including steak Pie, Burgers, wraps, all Gluten Free. All their soups too. Their cheesecake is my fav sweet.

Visited this little eatery a few times whilst shopping in East Kilbride. I have to say the service is always consistent, friendly and timely. My daughter raved about the Mac n Cheese 20 out of 20 was her score. I returned a few days later and they had a pasta special - 2 for £10. Both the mac n cheese and chicken arrabbiata was delicious. My daughter had the steak pie which was amazing. It amazes me how they can produce quality tasty food with such a little kitchen area. Top marks guys. Would defo recommend. Toasties and soup are also fab :)

Este es realmente el mejor desayuno de la ciudad y de un gran valor, ya que es de 2 por 10 libras, incluyendo el té/café. El servicio es genial y nunca nada es demasiado problema, incluso cuando nos apareció buscando una mesa para 8 personas!

As someone who has Coeliac Disease, it's great to be able to go this local place, and have a breakfast.This Cafe is located in a large shopping Centre, yet it's the only place that fully caters, for those who require to follow a gluten Free diet. Not only breakfast, but an excellent choice for any mealtime.

My fiancée and I frequently go to Ricos when we are in the centre and let me tell you..the food is outstanding! Always cooked fresh and have A LOT of gluten free selection as well! Always receive great service from all members of staff! Continue to be great and serve great food! I'll be seeing you guys very soon for yet another fantastic lunch!

I only wanted a coffee and cake, which they didn't have much of. But one of the desserts was homemade rhubarb cheesecake with ice cream and it was to die for. They do serve breakfasts, through to hot main meals but the menu isn't very big. The staff are fantastic. Really helpful. I'm definitely going back to have that dessert again.

Went today for lunch and ordered haggis and cheese toasted ciabatta. I was so disappointed with what I received, tasteless haggis, sliced cheese and an un-toasted ciabatta. This was so bad I had to leave half of it. Won't be back!

Visited with my husband and young son. We were promptly seated on a table which accommodated our buggie and a high chair. We really enjoyed our food. I had eggs Benedict and my his an the full cooked breakfast. The food was warm and tasty.It was refreshing to have what felt like an individually ran restaurant, instead of the usual franchise.I haven't been to the shopping centre for years but if your about I would recommend the breakfast. Good value for money.

Brilliant food, freshly made and great service! My other half loves the porridge but the poached eggs with breakfast were superb! Amazing coffee too!!! Highly recommend! Worth going to East Kilbride just to visit!

Have popped in a couple of times in the past month or so and been pleasantly surprised.My other half raves about their porridge and toast whilst myself and the youngest love their French toast with crispy bacon.The staff are pleasant and helpful and this is one place we will be visiting again.

Amazing staff, great food an all round cracker of a place to eat. I recommend the peri peri chicken wrap, it's absolutely delicious, as is everything else I've tried from Ricos.

Was a good visit, my partner had the broccoli and Stilton soup which was one of the best she had in a long time, I had the chicken blt and it was great . First time hear and will be back. Very reasonable.

This place is a real hidden gem in Ek centre, the food is lovely and great prices. The scones are absolutely beautiful - cinnamon and apple one especially!Watch out for the specials menu - always looks tempting

Visited with a friend for lunch.Seated promptly we ordered the same,honey chicken wraps with a couple of cans of juice then two coffees to finish.Bill was just under £18,reasonably priced IMO.Pleasant staff and the wraps were really good.Would go again as meant to order the highly recommended soup and forgot!

Amazing food served at great prices. Best gluten free menu in East kilbride!! Suitable for all ages as they have something for everyone. Customer service is second to none and everyday they have a specials menu. Keep up the good work ☺

Last Sunday my wife wanted to go for lunch in the town centre food court. Decided to try Cafe Rico.Staff were very friendly. The menu had a nice selection. we just went for one course. The food arrived pretty quick with the drinks. We did find that the quality was excellent and the priced very reasonably.Rico's is a nice cafe if you want tasty food at a very reasonable price.Worth a try.

Visit here every few weeks for lunch. Usually have soup and a sandwich. Today's soups were lentil or carrot and coriander. The soups are home made and are always very tasty and hot. The size of the sandwich is very generous, as is the filling. Lovely coffee served in a decent sized cup and piping hot. The scones are served warm and the apple and cinnamon ones are gorgeous. On every visit the staff have been friendly, helpful and cheery. Today was very busy and the waitress was rushed off her feet but still had a smile for everyone, even after rearranging tables to accommodate.

We had coffee and cake and a hot chocolate - all were delicious! The service was also very good and surroundings pleasant. Would return again!

Visited Cafe Rico for breakfast. Great offer for 2 for £10 breakfast. The square sausage was the best square sausage I have ever tried! Would definitely return.

Super meeting place for breakfast, lunch or just coffee and chat. Soup and sandwich lunchtime deals are delicious and good value. Very clean. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

Full breakfast at an excellent price, two for £10. Thought a bit odd if we had eaten after 11 am, tea/coffee not included, but as we were there well before then not an issue. Lady who served us was very friendly and chatty, and was able to tell us where to go to buy some square sausage so we could home back to England.All in all will visit again when next up in EK shopping centre

This place is nothing special - average food, average set up and average service... It wasn't bad it's not one of the places I'd return to.

Had to add this restaurant as the food is fantastic especially for people with food allergies. Only Cafe I have been too where you can eat anything on the menu and they will give you the Gluten Free alternative. The staff are helpful friendly and welcoming. You must try their specialty soups they make a great Portuguese and Thai.

Great locally-owned independent cafe at the end of the upstairs food court in East Kilbride shopping centre. Owner Ricardo is from Portugal but raised a family in EK. The Scottish-Portuguese mix means great homemade soups and lunch specials, haggis baguettes and 'pastel de nata' tarts, delicious served warm. Child-friendly, relaxed & a good refuge from the shops.

This is a great wee restaurant, cosy, friendly and with acceptable prices. The Portuguese soup isto die for! The owner is usually there to give it that personal touch. Will be back.
