No dogs allowed so we had a take out: coffee, tomato and cheese paninis, coleslaw and chips. Good value, friendly staff and great chips!

We found this 5 days into our one week holiday ( we were staying in Newton Stewart) and ended up going 3 times in our remaining 2 days. The breakfast was lovely and first time trying a tattie scone and it was incredible. They also did amazing cheese scones. My partner was obsessed he had 7 😂!! Also the staff are fantastic and very attentive.

We arrived mid afternoon looking for coffee and cakes and were not disappointed. Just a shame we weren't staying closer or we'd be there every day! We shared a slice of the divine Ecclefechan tart, served warm with cream. Our daughters shared the large pancake with nutella, both declaring it the "best ever!" Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and accommodating owners. Next time, we'll have lunch too but the choice of cake is very tempting. A real gem of a cafe in a gorgeous little town.

We called in for coffee and cake, the Rendezvous having been recommended by one of the bookshop owners. It was lovely and our only complaint was it was far too early for lunch, as the menu looked lovely! Coffee was excellent and the cakes we had were delicious. All the staff who served us were friendly and helpful and seemed to really enjoy serving their customers. I can fully understand why this cafe is so popular with locals and visitors. Highly recommend.

This was the only place open on a damp day. It was bustling with people enjoying their food. We were given a friendly welcome from a gentleman behind the counter with the tempting cakes and biscuits. We both opted for a smoked salmon salad with avocado and it was as good as anywhere. The cafe latte and decaf tea helped to restore us after the chill wind in the square. I had a chat with a group of 3 behind us about their new local house, just built. We departed contented with things generally and glad to receive Scottish hospitality again.

We were delighted to visit a few times during the Book Festival. Rendezvous is a friendly and informal cafe with attentive staff who despite being very busy always put you at ease and make time to chat. The cafe provides an extensive menu of tasty snacks, home made meals, scrumptious cakes and delightful deserts. In summary together with friends we can testify the cafe offers high quality fresh food at a reasonable price with top class customer service.

What a gem! We were about to leave Wigtown having browsed and bought books but fancied coffee and a cake. From the outside the cafe didn’t look very exciting but a Tripadvisor review persuaded us to try. Smiley, warm and welcoming staff, the most delicious range of homemade cakes, tray bakes and biscuits, we were spoilt for choice. Everything tasted delicious we had coffee, milkshakes and various treats. Rugby slice was a new one on us but a big hit! Thank you we’ll come again and again and remember to get take away cake too or even try a savoury special.

Although the cafe was very busy, the staff went out of their way to make a table available to us. Food arrived quickly and was excellent - the chips could not have been better, crispy but also fluffy on the inside. There was a great array of cakes available, which sadly we couldn't look at because of our diets - but on previous visits have been very good. Certainly worth 5 stars.

The rendezvous cafe in Wigtown Dumfries and Galloway is a shining light with Kirsty’s experience of Greek cookery. A lovely warm welcome from the Lady serving us and so far the best breakfast I have ever had in Scotland (and I've had a few). Cafe is spotlessly clean and prices are fair, well worth a visit in my honest opinion.

This cafe served the worst scone I have ever had / didn't have. (and that's saying something as I'm in my 70s and have had a few in my time. You could build a house with a few of them. Inedible expensive rubbish. It came in a paper bag, no plate and a wooden disposable knife which struggled to cut it. The coffee was served in a paper cup. But was drinkable. Cost over £13 for two coffees and two inedible scones. I am disgusted and will definitely won't be back

Visited the Frothy this morning for the first & very last time as the cafe is closing. Whilst the cafe was comfortable the coffee wasn’t the best ever tasted and we were stunned at the price! Compared to other coffee houses close by it was surprising; could this be a reason they are not finding it profitable?
