I had a beautiful afternoon tea at this gorgeous bistro, the setting, food & service made it very special for my sister's birthday would highly recommend it

Had such a lovely time today. First a play on the little dog field with our furry child then a super brunch in the cafe. Very very lovely staff, couldn't have been nicer if they tried. Really good experience. Thank you x. Oh and the sun came out too....

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit situated in a garden centre, the cafe was separated but great decoration & ambience and enjoyed avocado & poached eggs on toast very tasty. Menu of unusual food - something difference which is nice & enjoyable.

What a treat. Fabulous, different plants and the best cafe in the area. All made extra awesome by the friendly and enthusiastic staff. The prices were very fair too!

I really cannot understand some negative moaning comments about Prego ,there are no pleasing some people . I have been coming here for a long time and the service and food is always excellent . Also reasonable prices for a garden centre !!. I always have the grand breakfast ,it’s always cooked to perfection and tastes fresh and always presented well .My wife and children always leave here happy and the staff are all polite and well trained . The restaurant has a very nice ambience,surrounded by plants ,and when the weathers warmer,there seating around the outside plants ,very nice feeling eating there . Highly recommend,I have also taken my mother and she really feels relaxed and always has a memorable time here .

Our Afternoon Tea was ample for two people. It was all so fresh and tasty, and the variety was fantastic. A very enjoyable experience, thank you so much. We shall return!

We generally visit 2 or 3 times a week and have always found the owners and staff very friendly and accommodating. We eat across the menu at differing times and have always had excellent service and very enjoyable food, coffee (hot) & cakes. We have visited many local garden centres for lunch and breakfasts but we find Cafe Prego is very unique and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere - sitting amongst the ‘Creative Plants’. Definitely worth a visit!

Visited Cafe Prego for a catch up with some friends! This was our first time and we will definitely be back for sure! There was an amazing wide selection of homemade cakes, as well as many options for main meals on the menu and the specials board!! It was very busy, but staff managed this well and were attentive to our needs! I decided to have a chicken panini; it was delicious!!! It tasted so fresh, and it was definitely a lot tastier than the ones that are sold in the big chain coffee shops. To top our visit off the coffee is second to none!! The atmosphere of the place is very tranquil and a lovely place to meet up with friends! I will be recommending this little find to everyone!! Can’t wait for our next visit!!!

Took the family for breakfast this morning and the freshly cooked food was amazing. Coffee was 10/10 as always, staff so kind and helpful. scenery was beautiful with plants surrounding us, also the garden centre side was laid out lovely. Totally recommend, i love coming here.

Avoid Cafe Prego at all costs ! What a terrible dining experience. Myself and my wife will never return to this dump. The customer service is dismal, the food is substandard and their coffee tastes like sewage. They are also one of the most expensive places around. When they charge such rip off prices they should at least make sure that the food, drink and services match this. What a dive ! I would not recommend this place to anyone. Avoid at all costs!

Wanted a quick sandwich after shopping in Lichfield on our way to Sutton. We visited here on Saturday 1st October arrived at 3:15 and sat down to place an order. There was an extremely strong smell of paint - obviously making improvements so sat nearer the entrance. Went to place the order at 3:25 only to be told that they are not serving food only tea and cakes. What a cafe closing for snacks at 3.30 not heard of this before whatever the season as mentioned in another review. Staff didn’t seem to bothered that there was no food at this time and no apologies. People on next table said not to worry not missing much. On leaving we saw two other cars arrive one parked next to ours getting out they were heading to the cafe. I explained that only serving drinks and cakes and they to couldn’t believe it so left. I go out every other Tuesday with a bunch of 17 people for lunch and was checking this out for future bookings - so glad I did . Very very disappointed and as a destination cafe need to do a lot more than this to survive in this busy sector. Decided to go The Farmhouse Bistro in Sutton on the way back instead - so pleased we did had an amazing meal and tremendous size cakes. A firm favourite we keep coming back to. As a lady who lunches a lot I will definitely not be returning to Cafe Prego. Stick to gardening……..

We have supported Prego as it offered food / drink and not just plants . The service has generally been ok depending on number of customers but this morning was atrocious . 25min wait for our order to be taken and a good 12 mins for 3/4 of it to arrive . Tea and a cake plus coffee and eventually toast ..£12 . Apart from my husband and I only two other couples were in . We were on the verge of leaving even after my husband had indicated we were waiting, ... though even that didn’t hurry things up. If the young staff need training then sort it otherwise the customers who popped in for a morning coffee will no longer think its worth it . Advertising Halloween / Christmas meals , fish Friday , Sunday lunches is all very well but you need to nurture the customers who would like just a coffee and 5 mins peace . And just we could be seen amongst the greenery !

the ambiance is very good, loads of shrubs between tables so you feel secluded. the staff are very good and helpful . coffee is excellent and all meals are good and sensibly priced. there is a good choice of meals and excellent Sunday lunches.

Possibly our first and last visit to this Cafe. Why? On checking google for opening times it specified open to 4.30pm on a Saturday. We arrived at 3.02pm at the Cafe and first impressions looked ok. Then we were told we are closed? I advised the google internet advises 4.30pm but the person said we are closed at 3.30pm. I advises it was only 3.02 but he still said we are closed. Now I was involved in good customer service and sales for many a good year, but this is certainly not the way to treat potential new customers, especially when there was adequate time to make a coffee. So waste of a trip and poor custoner service then. Regards Gary

Lovely little cafe nestled in amongst classy statement piece plants and trees. Different in a good way ! Nice atmosphere , friendly attentive staff and tasty food . What’s not to like ?…good for lunch and probably the best breakfast in the area.
