We called for a light lunch & were met by two very pleasant members of staff. We ordered a pot of tea for two & decided to share a ploughman’s lunch & also a cream tea. The ploughman’s was just delicious & plenty for two, with fresh bread, ham, loads of cheese, ham, tomatoes, pickled onions & two chutney’s. We actually wrapped a portion of cheese up & took it with us, it was very tasty. The scones were freshly home made & very light, with butter, jam & fresh double cream. Again they were delicious. At just over £16 it was excellent value for money

So I went here for the first time on a recommendation from my partner and it was absolutely amazing the scrambled egg was so light and fluffy, also the sausages was so full of flavour. Plentiful plate of goodies and they will provide a box to take home. Friendly service and lovely decor. Best scones we have tasted in years. Best afternoon tea we have had on IOW.

My husband I popped in here for a late breakfast - cheesy hammy egg for him, a fishfinger bap for me and a large pot of tea. Perfect. Food all freshly prepared, brilliant service and staff. A gem of a café in Ryde.

Lovely veggie breakfast and delicious rocky road. All locally sourced ingredients and always a scrumptious selection of cakes! Too tempting! Only drawback is that we don’t visit enough

Popped over to the Island for the day and chose this little cafe for a light bite. Spotlessly clean, nice service, very reasonably priced home made food. The cheese and chutney scone was the nicest I’ve ever tasted and served with a really good decent portion of butter (not in horrible plastic). I bought another to take away as they were irresistible! My friend had a fish finger butty with salad and crisps; prepared to order and very tasty. The mugs of tea were also nice...proper Yorkshire! I would have given five stars for this good little cafe but the only thing that grated was the radio playing far too loud. It’s so common in cafes and bars, etc to play rubbishy music so this comment is not aimed at anything other than being constructive to the owners. Please pop some nice relaxing laid back music on and you will shine even more!

We were the only people in the cafe, and waited, and for an average breakfast, wont be going back. Shame, as we are locals and they could do with the trade in the winter.

Had time to kill before the ferry so had a wander and found Cafe on the Hill. We had the Hill English which was lovely. Sausages are sourced locally and were delicious, as was the whole breakfast. The lady who served us was so friendly. I would 100% recommend!

Popped in here for a quick cuppa and snack. Service was friendly, coffee and iced tea good and all very reasonable in terms of price. Lunch menu had a variety of options so we will be back!

Popped in for a full English breakfast. But it had just gone 12:00 so they had stopped serving a cooked breakfast. So I think to myself! Cook doesn’t want to fry bacon and eggs all day long, fair enough! HOWEVER! I could order a fried breakfast bap! 😡🤷🏻♂️ So that’s what I had and left the bread!✌🏼

Tidy little Café, the Waitress was very friendly and helpful, the seating okay, but it was somewhat stuffy as there was no cooling or air conditioning, which became worse with more people inside. The Menu was fairly basic, the food was certainly okay but not of particular note, the Bacon was overcooked as were the Eggs. Okay for a basic Café it was alright, but with so much local competition available, there was little of merit to encourage a return.

Great food!!! Was really impressed by the food and menu. Plenty of choice and homemade! Recommend the breakfast burrito and granola. Can’t wait to come back for lunch.

Lovely lovely lovely! Located on main thoroughfare Union Street in Ryde, this dog friendly cafe is really welcomed. It’s bright, friendly, modern, clean and with a nice range of food... as well as doggy ice-cream!!! I do recommend it and as a reasonably new business, I wish the owners future success.

Stopped for a cream tea which the wife enjoyed. Usual 2 scones provided with jam and clotted cream and a good pot of tea. They normally do Gluten Free cream tea but due to high demand had sold out of GF scones. They were however able to supply GF cheese scones so I had a savoury version of cream tea, 2 GF cheese scones, a tomato chutney and a cream cheese. Was very nice and would recommend.

A very peaceful place to stay, in the centre of Newport, conveniently located, close to the bus station and to restaurants. Charming interiors, with a lot of character. Spacious, comfortable and clean room. Breakfast is served, and freshly prepared after the order is made. Hostess is friendly and Staff polite. We will definitely stay there again!

Good size meals, especially breakfasts. Good cuppa, no frills just true value, friendly staff. I would visit again and recommend this café.

Stopped here for tea and we're so glad we did. Loose leaf tea in a china tea pot (not one of those awful stainless steel ones that dribbles all over the table), a tea strainer, china cups and saucers and a china milk jug - this is how tea should be served. The Bakewell slice and chocolate cake were both delicious and the portions very generous. The friendly welcome and engaging staff added to the enjoyment. Looking forward to the next visit.
