Cafe Nero in Cardiff

Not a great choice, especially for children, cheese and ham crossiants were cold but the coffees and smoothies were great

Fantasic helpful staff who are so friendly. Advised me on what drinks I would like and were spot on. Unfortunately I then fell over outside spilling a drink. I re ordered and they did not charge me for the refill, also checking I was ok etc. wonderful staff and top quality coffee too , 5 stars !

Just wanted to say that the staff here are wonderful. We didn't want breakfast in the hotel so went for a walk and found a Cafe Nero. Always nice, but here the staff took extra care with our food and drinks. They also appeared to be having fun, despite being busier than they were ready for. Staff jumping on early to help, even though they hadn't finished their own breakfast. Thanks everyone.

Cafe nero avoid paying tax by claiming they don't make a profit in the UK (sending their profits overseas). By not paying the 19% tax they should pay, the NHS has less funding, the police have less funding. They are effectively stealing from the UK. So buy your coffee elsewhere.

turistas a la zona hoy e iba en el autobús turístico. Después de estacionarme, realmente necesitaba ir al baño y sabía que no podría llegar a uno durante unas horas, ya que el recorrido dura una buena hora. Entré en el café nero ya que estaba literalmente en el escalón de la puerta y pregunté si podía usar su baño. Un miserable miembro del personal me dijo que tenía que comprar algo para poder usar el baño. ¡Qué jodidamente patético! No podía decidir qué elegir porque no quería ni necesitaba nada y le expliqué que soy literalmente nuevo en el área y que solo necesitaba abrir el baño antes de subir al autobús. Pero ella simplemente explicó que era política de café neros y se negó a entrar antes de comprar. ¡Absolutamente estúpido! Entendería si no tuviera hogar y estuviera yendo al baño con frecuencia, pero ¿en serio?

I don’t normally write reviews for high street coffee places but after a couple of successful visits to Caffè Nero I thought I would. 1. The coffee is better than Costa and Starbucks. I use to be loyal to Costa but don’t feel like they care about the product, unlike here. 2. Great range of sandwiches and reasonably priced cakes - also with a good selection on offer. 3. The tables are clean and clear. 4. Seating outside makes it feel a little continental. 5. Friendly and efficient staff, which is a rare thing to see these days.

After visiting Cardiff Castle and walking in the shopping street,the best place to rest and enjoy every sip of freshly brewed extra hot coffee.The seating is wonderful.

Good people watching and comfortable seats. Coffee was fine. Disappointed with choice of food for breakfast stop. Little that was freshly cooked. Cutlery had encrustations. Tables smeary.

Bezocht om te lunchen, mede vanwege bord wat net werd gewisseld dat ze net vers gebakken broodjes hadden. Ze wisselen alleen het bord, de broodjes en koeken waren er niet. Het zitgedeelte was vies, de vloer en tafeltjes plakten letterlijk. De koeling maakte zoveel herrie dat je elkaar amper kon verstaan. Personeel stond met elkaar te kletsen terwijl klanten hun bestelling moesten plaatsen aan de balie. Dat ze niet aan tafel komen bedienen is misschien deel van het concept maar gewoon doorkletsen met gasten voor je neus onbeleefd. En je betaalt nog flink ook!

We stopped in to take a break and discovered their Salted Caramel Pistachio Frappacino! The service was friendly and helpful.

Always go here for a coffee break while shopping. Staff very friendly. Coffee lovely. Quick service. Highly recommend.

I don't often praise a chain but this was a surprisingly good coffee break, quickly and pleasantly served in a very busy shop, my hot chocolate and toasted tea cake were excellent tasty and hot what more could I ask for?

En Cardiff, además de los clásicos pubs, hay lugares como Nero. Tiene cierto parecido con la cadena Starbucks pero con impronta propia. Probé un delicioso chocolate blanco caliente con crema, enorme y servido en taza de loza. Mi amiga tomó un té de camomila, pero no con el clásico saquito sino con un saquito hecho de tul y dentro hojas y semillas de camomila. Excelente para un alto en la caminata por la ciudad

Always stop here for a coffee when I’m in town shopping. Very friendly staff. Good coffee and cakes. Nice not to have a 5min wait to produce a cup of coffee, like they do in M&S and Costa.

My wife had two free vouchers for free coffee at Nero’s so we had a cake as well very nice staff and quite a pleasant atmosphere. Nice place to relax and chill.

There are so many coffee shops in cities these days that it is encouraging to find somewhere that provides a fresh coffee where you don't have to wait ages for the overworked staff to prepare your order. Cafe Nero is always satisfying and the quality of the food and beverages is excellent.

Just popped into the Cafe Nero next to Mark & Spencer for a mocha coffee and a well deserved rest, between shops. Such pleasant welcoming staff.

A nice coffee break while shopping in Cardiff. Coffee and cake were really nice, kids loved the hot chocolate as well. Cafe was very busy so a bit of a wait, but it was most enjoyable so was worth the wait.

I came here for lunch on my work break yesterday. The staff were extremely friendly and pleasant. It makes a nice change as you don't often get such happy service.

I had filled my loyalty card so decided to call in for a free coffee. The lady behind the counter was so smiley and friendly and could not do enough to help. Due to health problems I need a skinny coffee made with one shot and sugar free syrup and she got it exactly right which is not always the case.

Just back from a weekend at Cardiff bay and caught the water taxi to town. In need of a coffee we called in cafe Nero. Staff were very busy but were very obliging and nice. It's a lovely chain of coffee shop and their coffee is lovely. We used it a lot in February when we visited Cardiff for the rugby.

nice coffee, nice atmosphere, tables cleaned in a speedy fashion, friendly service. nice leisurely pace, no rush and push to get you out. decent price for city centre too!

Visited with my husband and daughter.I had lemon cheesecake and a salted caramel latte with cream and marshmallows.They were both very enjoyable.We visited the one upstairs in Next,in Leckwith just outside Cardiff.The staff are always very friendly.It's a lovely place to visit

We went up to Cardiff for the rugby match and used a couple of cafe neros and I have to say they have a nice choice of sandwiches and coffees and tea. It was nice and warm in there on a very bitter cold day. Nice staff and it was clean.

Stopped for coffee on a wet Saturday morning. Staff very polite and helpful. Cafe clean and staff wiping tables down;collecting used mugs etc. Not too noisy even though busy. Lots to choose from menu.

The coffee in cafe nero is most of the time more thanks desent. This time everything that our 7-person group has order was excellent. The most important is that the young man serving us the afternoon of 21st September was a real gentleman, very polite, helpful, communicative (but not too much-that could be rude). Weldone!

I personally love Cafe Nero as a chain cafe company, and the one in Cardiff didn't let me down! Great and happy service, delicious cake and tasty new frappes, what's not to love?

I used to spend most of my time drinking hot chocolate at Starbucks but then discovered Coffee #1 and the Costa but the hot chocolate in cafe nero is rich, deep and full of flavour! I love it!

Recently visited for a sit down and drinks before leaving Cardiff. Service was good and didn't have to wait long, there was plenty of seats to choose from despite being the easter holidays. Both my chocolate and my wife's coffee were very good.

After many hours of shopping in the wonderful and beautiful city of Cardiff we decided that a coffee was in order so headed for Café Nero. The double espresso was hot and strong and my friend's latte very creamy. Watched the world go by as we enjoyed our drinks. Staff very helpful and friendly

the coffee is always fresh and hot and the staff really nice and friendly. toasted panini's are always lacking filling, especially the tuna & mozzarella, it was like eating a empty panini.

I like Café Nero as you can mix and match your coffee flavours. I used to love the caramel and macadamia but for some reason they have stopped doing it which is a shame. Always friendly staff and quick service if youre on the go.

Purchased a chai tea latte a speciality of the house, I have to say is the worst chai tea I have ever tried. It tasted like vanilla ice cream melted, no spice and extremely sweet. My friend had a black coffee it was more water the coffee on it. Won't buy anything from this place. The place we bought the drinks was located in Llandudno.

Dropped by whilst on our first shopping trip to Cardiff. Coffee and cake were lovely. Out of all the coffee chains, I believe this one to serve the best coffee although their assortment of sandwiches is really limited.

Bang on a key pedestrian throroughfare in the city's retail heart, Nero's St Johns Square outlet is a super-convenient and reliable oasis. The snacks are fair albeit overpriced in modern chain-cafe style - on this occasion me and my wife had a pair of welcome pain au raisins. The coffee's hot and strong to suit British tastes, and it's competitively priced. We ordered a latte and a tea and weren't disappointed - a fine refresher after a slog around the Christmas shops.

When shopping in Cardiff its always good to call in Cafe Nero for a coffee . Their coffee is always excellent not to mention their cappichino cake which is amazing . Staff are always helpful and polite and give first class customer service .

I love cafe Nero, and have sampled at many of stores! But this has to be the best ever, when I asked why it was so different, was told they are all fresh out of training......keep up the good work guys!

Amazing coffee, big fan of the cafe neros so no suprise to how good it is!! Will be back again!! And will use other cafe neros!!!!

The Cardiff St John's St. branch is perfect for people watching and on a sunny day the outside seating is shady and cheerful, nicely situated. We chose the iced lemonade and a shortbread biscuit, which were both truly exquisite.
