Treated ourselves to lunch at Fika (assume re-branded Cafe Morso- lots of similarities). Ordered lunch and drinks. Lunch took 45 minutes to come for a sandwich, bread was stale on both sandwiches. Ingredients looked and tasted cheap, could have made better at home. Not really sure why there was a wait only saw 2 meals being served in time, impression is there is not enough kitchen staff. Overall disappointing. Staff were uninterested and despite long waits for food- 2 or the 3 staff prepared themselves lunch and a drink in this time and them took a break in the centre of the main restaurant. Atmosphere was lovely, relaxed and nice music choice. Wouldn't visit again.

Love coffee shop , but unfortunately the owner of the business treats their staff awfully. The staff do NOT recieve pay on time , are under paid , are not given any notice of changes in the business and some staff have gone months without receiving pay. For such a lovely cafe it is a shame that staff are treated so poorly.

Just popped by with the dog for a well earned drink and some food after a long walk. Service was quick, friendly, the dog was chatted to and made at home with the offer of some biscuits and a bit of fuss… burger (very tasty!) and drinks were very good. All served quickly and with a smile.

My family phoned and booked Morso Barnt green for mothers day breakfast treat at 10 am for me We arrived and it was all closed up no one even bothered to phone and say it would be closed . Good job Garritys next door was open . We had a fabulous breakfast there instead .So don’t bother with Mosro go to Garritys next door amazing service and food .

First time trying Cafe Morso in Barnt Green, service wasn’t very friendly when we walked in, we did coke in 5 mins after it had opened but we didn’t see an issue with this. We took our breakfast baps on our dog walk and they were very good, we’d have one again but would think twice about going for an evening meal. The Garrity I think it’s called next door was busy so would also try it out for brekkie.

I walked in with my daughter who is mixed race and my husband who is black Caribbean. We don’t experience any form of racism living in Alvechurch and have lived here for 12 years, we have always felt so comfortable and have made a lot of friends while living here. Walking into this cafe the atmosphere instantly was bad. The lady ignored us as we walked in and that’s us standing in-front of her at the counter, I had to specifically say hello in order for her to acknowledge us. That is the lady with the blue hair she may be the owner I don’t know. She told us to take a seat and they will be over with the menu. We did as we were asked and she seemed as if there was no urgency attending to our table. In fact she clearly favoured a bigger table that arrived after us. I felt extremely uncomfortable and upset if anything. It was very obvious she was being this way due to my husbands colour the way she was with the other customers was different to the way she was with us. Understandably we left after we were still sat there without menus. I spent the rest of my Saturday feeling ever so sad and disappointed. I googled the reviews on this cafe hence us choosing to go there what a huge mistake that was. Message for the lady who treated us this way ‘’ you clearly have your opinion on black people and mix race relationships that’s fine but please keep your options professional, and don’t make it so obvious. You obviously was not bothered about losing a paying table but in the process you made all 3 of us incredibly sad and disappointed. Such a shame we were made to feel this way in our home town. I hope she learns by this review to treat everyone the same, there was no need in making us feel that way. All the best!

Hubby, 2 adult kids and me walked from the Lickey Hills visitors to Morso. Worked up an appetite so we all had a breakfast - 3 vegan, 1 meaty, all delicious! We also bought vegan flapjack as a take away. The lady said that if we didn't thinknit was the best flapjack we had ever tasted, she'd eat her arm! - well it certainly was! Lovely easy atmosphere and dog friendly. The bill was reasonable too. This is a real gem of a cafe - thank you!

Very slow service, and food is below average. Poached eggs were over cooked and sent back and the smashed avocado is from a packet. On a positive the staff member sis not charge us for the food which was appreciated. They were clearly understaffed and seem to be cutting corners on the produce. Another couple next to us waited over 35 mins for a slice of toast

Called in on Sunday soaking wet after getting caught out on a walk without a coat in the middle of a torrential downpour. Staff were very accommodating - quickly brought me a hot drink and were drying out another customer’s coat during my visit who had also been caught out by the weather. Then provided me with an umbrella to walk home when I left as it was still raining. Excellent staff who can’t do enough for you and great ambience. Highly recommend.

Very rude staff with a serious attitude problem. We walked in and asked for a table only to be barked at by the rude waitress and made to feel like we had offended her in some way. We then asked for two coffees to which she replied I already have another order to process you will have to wait. We only wanted two coffees it wasn’t exactly a difficult order. We then just walked out and went to the cafe nextdoor who welcomed us with proper customer service.

Tasty food, although alot of breakfast menu wasn't available? Nice coffee, but everything was on a go slow. Relieved to leave.

Shocking cafe with rude staff and no idea about customer service. Waited over an hour for food and still nothing arrived. Decided to leave and cancel our order. There was only 3 groups in the cafe so not sure how they were failing to cope.

Went on a Wednesday much time to grab a quick bite to eat. Quick wasn’t there word, 42 mins for a take away sandwich at £9….asked where it was and had the reply “well if you would choose to come at lunch time then it’s bloody obvious your have to wait” Walked out no sandwich no refund no apology So now no more business for cafe no so

I recently visited with my mom for lunch, coffees were excellent, really strong and food was lovely too. Fast service and Nadia and Charlotte really made us feel welcome. Would definitely come back again, the breakfast/brunch menu had lots of good choice!

Choice of food was poor but in particular they could offer nothing for a 2 year old Other than an adult meal or sandwich. Couldn’t even offer toast or plain cheese sandwich.

Good Vegetarian B/fast BUT very weak pot of tea. I requested a strong tea - for example extra tea bags - but the tea was disappointing, - far too weak.

Took some friends to our local cafe morso today who had travelled to see me and to venture out for a welcome refreshment. We managed to get a table outside as we had the dog; which cafe morso accommodates inside and outside which is helpful, so a good start we thought. We ordered a hot chocolate, a decaf coffee and a pot of tea. The items were presented fairly timely so again that was another good sign. The hot chocolate was mainly froth and not terribly hot so that was consumed in 3 mouthfuls, the pot of tea was just over half full of water so I managed one small cupful and the decaf coffee was average. As my friends had purchased these drinks ( not terribly cheap but not totally unexpected prices for an independent business) I went in to ask for another round of drinks. The waitress although polite, informed me she was unable to continue serving as they’d run out of milk! Part of the order was a bottle of sparkling water and was included in the ‘ I can no longer serve drinks’. I eventually received the water and when I enquired why more milk couldn’t be purchased from the Tesco express store 4 shops further up the village I was met with a surprised look as if to say how could I ask! The 2 bottles of water at a total cost of £4 seemed overpriced and unfortunately it also meant I had one friend left without a further drink. This little cafe in a village where local residents are desperate to support their independent retailers/ restauranteurs could offer so much more however it always seems hot and miss with the service you receive. As a local I’ve been there several times since lockdown has eased as I’m keen to support the local community but I’m giving up on paying for drinks that aren’t great and to receive a poor service. A disgruntled local customer :(

First time and definitely the last. Paid £7.50 for a tuna sandwich and a bit of salad. I could buy a loaf a bread, tin of tuna and some salad for £2. Absolute rip off! Robbery at its finest.

Came for hot chocolate and cake with my sister. Hot chocolate wasn’t very warm and not that tasty. I had a blueberry and lemon cake and it had a huge chunk missing when it was brought out. I asked politely where the other bit of my cake was so they took it back and just hacked of a bit to make it look like a complete piece so I actually ended up with even less cake. My sister had carrot cake which was very grainy and dry in texture and not at all moist as a carrot cake should be. Disappointing visit.

Enjoyed a lovely chicken burger and pizza as takeaway during lockdown 2. Ordered over phone and food ready to collect upon arrival.

First visit here. Clean and covid compliant. Tables and chairs safely situated. Quite pleasant inside. Good choice of hot drinks & breakfast menu. Staff do work hard serving customers. Breakfast slightly above average in Price but it is Barnt Green after all.

My wife and I popped in for coffee I noticed a cake by the till and thought that looks good and it was excellent It was orange polenta cake, vey more ish!

really lovely Tuesday lunch. Food from the reduced menu was very good and it felt very Covid secure. The only drawback was the shortage of staff, with one gentleman working very hard but unsupported.

We visited on Sunday morning for brunch with our two children. The staff were great, friendly with the kids and inviting. The food was equally good, we had a ‘half Morso’, two breakfast muffins (they were huge) and eggs Benedict with coffee and juice. It was all really good quality and reasonably priced - we’ll definitely be back!

On a good day this place is lovely. Nice atmosphere, a decent choice of seating, and a chance to sample some lovely coffee and cake.Too often though I find it is closed despite advertising as open and invariably the staff seem really uninterested - a place like this needs a much better “welcome” on arrival or else I cannot see people wanting to return. Shame because we need more of these small businesses in our towns and villages, not fewer.

Popped in yesterday for coffee which was fine. Very disappointed with condition of ladies toilet no proper soap, paper handtowels not in dispenser also needs a good clean in view of current virus situation please rectify

We popped in half an hour before they closed but the server was friendly and we didn’t feel rushed. Excellent tea and coffee, and great cakes even after a full day. Parking right outside, if you are lucky!

I'm a local and I've been a regular in Morso for 5 years now - going in there most days as the coffee and food is good! Unfortunately, as of recent, the staff in there (and their people-skills) have been horrendous! As a former barmaid/waitress myself, I at least always looked my guests/customers in the eye.. the two girls in there recently haven't once smiled and most days even struggle to look up at me whilst taking my order. Both are so rude, and have zero charisma. Maybe have a word or consider hiring staff with a bit of 'life' to them..

Four of us stopped by the Cafe Morso for a quick, casual lunch in May and found customers and their dogs enjoying a lazy Saturday inside and outside on the cafe's sunny deck. We deliberated over many tempting choices on the brown sheets clipped to boards at the table before ordering and waited a long time for our orders to appear. When the plates arrived, the food was really good, but it was hard to know what took so long for two sandwiches and two breakfast plates. However, prices were very reasonable and the child who was kept waiting to be picked up after a lesson in Barnt Green eventually walked up the street to find her parents at the Café Morso and forgave them when a quicker lunch was procured for her from another place nearby.

My friend and I usually go to Constance Wallace tea shop, unfortunately it was fully booked for the afternoon, so we decided to give Morso a try.Inside it’s small but bright and we ordered 2 lattes. We waited, and waited, and because there was only 6 other people in the shop, we thought they had forgotten our order. My friend went up to inquire about the coffees, and was told to sit down they will be out as soon as they can. Having waited nearly half an hour we finally had our coffees. There was no apology on arrival which I thought very rude. This place really should be busy but it’s no surprise to me that our regular tea room does so well, there isn’t much competition.

After giving up on the Alvechurch branch where we waited nearly half an hour for a coffee which never came, the warm welcome, quick service with lovely cake brightened up a gloomy wet afternoon. Thanks.

This could and should be a thriving little cafe - but as so many times before, they just can’t get the service right at all.We popped today and after 35 minutes left because the bacon sandwich my husband ordered still hadn’t arrived, and we needed to pick kids back up again! The coffees were fine, and I feel sorry for the waiting staff taking grief off lots of customers - as clearly the kitchen staff can’t cope.

States opens at 8, well not today it didn’t. Turned up at 8 all shut, no one there, wanted a coffee on a chilly morning before work. Not bothering again.

Came here with my mother on my birthday for breakfast. Good choice of food, not all fancy stuff if you just want a bacon sarnie. All in all a nice meal

As it became to bright and warm we moved inside to be told the settee was reserved. !! Had to sit on a seat that was too high and made my hips hurt. It is supposed to be a cafe not a restaurant.

This was my first visit and it is SO refreshing to receive warm, very friendly and excellent customer service from every member of staff, both the young ladies and a gentleman. The coffee is really tasty, and served quickly and the cake was delicious!

Passing through the village of Barnt Green on a cold February morning, noticed folks sitting in the window at Cafe Morso, so decided to have a snack and a hot drink. A delightful, warm and friendly greeting from a charming lady who served our hot drinks almost immediately as we had settled down in our seats. Menu was simple but catered for every requirement and was open to person preference or adaption. Our meal was served hot, fresh and within 10 minutes of order. One of us being Vegetarian, it was pleasing to see equally varied menu to cater for such. The food was extremely enjoyable, sufficient portions and well presented. Homely, warm, spacious and cosy setting with local artists quirky works adorning the walls. All in all a very enjoyable one hour experience and at very reasonable prices for a prestige village environment. To our delight we noticed on exit the Cafe is Pet friendly so we most definitely will return next time accompanied by our four legged family. A highly recommended place to visit hence the time we’ve taken to add our comments on TripAd in order for others to hopefully share our positive dining experience.

I had a chicken, cheese and pesto panini with an Oreo milkshake and one of my other friends had a tuna panini with the milkshake and we all agreed that the Oreo milkshake was the best we had ever had I definitely recommend this cafe. They also do a burger and many different types of milkshakes and sandwiches/paninis/toasties. It was amazing

Went here for lunch just before Christmas and it was lovely, had the jacket potato and a coffee and the service was quick and food arrived on time. The staff are friendly and hae since been in for just a coffee. Worth a visit.

Popped in for lunch after a recomendation from a friend. Its a lovely place really nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. We found a table and in no time at all a really friendly waitress came over to get our drinks order. We opted for a coffee & a hot chocolate, both arrived piping hot and were really good! We both chose the fish finger sandwich, it arrived on thick white crusty bread (we had the choice of bread) on a plate full of salad and tortilla chips, we had also ordered a portion of fries to share, which in all honesty we didn't need as portions very generous. We really enjoyed our lunch and will definately be back.

Morso is great bar in the village catering for day time breakfast, lunch and coffee, and at night a great relaxed bar venue with regular live music.

Nice small bar in tbe centre of village. Entertainement from guitarist on saturday nights somtimes closed for private partys but other local bars available but higher prices

We organised a surprise 60th birthday party and everyone had a great time. Lee and his team were great and couldn't do enough for you. The food was amazing and a great variety. You are also able to choose a playlist for your music to be played through the speakers. I would definitely recommend Cafe Morso to others. Thank you Lee and his team!

As well as being a great place to eat, drink and relax, Cafe Morso is also the venue for Licensed to Rhyme - a monthly poetry / spoken word / music night (every second Monday evening of each month). The vibe for the November edition was fantastic. We drank wine, beer, coffee and tea. Oh ... and the cake. THE CAKE! Marvellous. Nearly as ace as the poets ... nearly ;)

Tried Cafe Moros as our usual haunt was closed. Nice full breakfast, quick friendly service albeit a little noisy due in part to a noisy at a table close by. Small outside seating area. Would be interesting to try it out one evening when a band is in. Close to a 4

No estoy muy seguro de cómo este lugar sobrevive, sólo puedo asumir que prefieren el día de comercio. A pesar de la publicidad en la junta fuera que están abiertos hasta las 22:00 de un jueves, recientemente fuimos para una bebida, y me pareció que a las 19:20 fueron cerradas, de nuevo. Esta es la 4ª vez, así que no puedo ser nuestra mala suerte. Terminamos yendo a otro pub, así que deben estar perdiendo un montón de comercio.

Vinimos aquí para el brunch de día del Padre y salí muy decepcionado.

Me siento obligado a escribir una crítica. . . Organicé una fiesta para un uprise amigo y 26 de nosotros nos tomó más de la cafetería. . Andy y su equipo trabajaron muy duro, tuvimos un fabuloso relajado noche llena de diversión con entretenimiento fantástico de Neil Ivison y nos hicieron sentir totalmente a gusto. .

Sólo he estado aquí durante la semana, pero decidimos entrar para el almuerzo. Era muy tranquilo, pero un par de cosas que no eran muy buenos. Nuestra primera mesa era muy pegajosas que tuve para solicitar que se limpian y luego mostrar la camarera donde limpio - incluso entonces ella sólo el área que fue seriamente pegajoso y en ningún otro lugar. Segundo la puerta de la cocina parece haber desarrollado un éxito muy alto, lo cual es muy molesto después de la primera 20 veces! Por último, hubo un fuerte olor a aceite viejo y una falta general de atención a la limpieza. El piso estaba bastante sucia y no era un día de lluvia. Es una pena, ya que siempre hemos disfrutado aquí y me pregunto ¿qué ha cambiado?

Almorcé allí con un amigo. El lugar no estaba lleno, el servicio fue atento y opciones de almuerzo variado. Ambos ordenados panini, sabroso y contundente. Lugar agradable relajado que podría beneficiar de conseguir la música de fondo de controles fronterizos - así que no te sientes consciente de las conversaciones se lo oyó.

Decidimos probar este café por primera vez, y mi dios será la última! ! ! ! .

Una tarde muy rara gratis así que decidimos máximo y sal para tomar café y tarta con mi marido.

El personal era genial. Muy amable y servicial. Encantado de tener una conversación general como aclararon mesas. Decoración de buen gusto y para una sensación relajante y el ambiente. Mi cafés eran de primera clase, tuberías aroma caliente y maravilloso. No comer aunque la comida me di cuenta de otros comensales comer parecía muy tentadora. La selección de pasteles era muy tentador tan difícil poner mi dieta y se niegan. Gracias a todos - sólo un salto en una café rápido!

Vine aquí anteriormente, cuando se sirve por todo el personal femenino para encontrar todo el servicio horrible, demasiado ocupados charlando entre ellos mismos para reconocer a los clientes. . . . Esta visita. En contraste para el té de la tarde y pasteles servidos por un solo miembro masculino del personal resultó en gran, servicio amable y rápido. Los pasteles de chocolate (jaffa) pastel de naranja era muy sabroso.

Necesitaba un lugar para una fiesta familiar un domingo por la tarde. . . Cafe Morso era perfecta. El sol brillaba, así que podíamos sentarnos afuera, el bar estaba abierto y en el buffet preparado. ¿Qué más podíamos desear? ? ? . . Dos efectivos muy servicial y atento del personal para cuidar de todas nuestras necesidades. Eso es exactamente lo que conseguimos. Estoy seguro de que estaremos usando este lugar de nuevo algún día y lo recomiendo encarecidamente. Gracias por hacer que nuestra Cafetería Morso familia especial juntos aún más especial.

Decidimos salir para el desayuno, el café a su llegada estaba lleno, pero finalmente morso dieron una mesa, ambas teníamos cafés y por coincidencia ambos tuvimos huevos benedict,. Puede en buen tiempo y debo admitir que era realmente bueno. El servicio fue bueno y atento y tenía un poco de bromas cuando se paga así como comprar un pedazo de pastel de chocolate naranja que parecía fabuloso. Sin duda volveré como una muy buena relación calidad-precio y el personal estupendo.

Estuve con algunos colegas de trabajo para un "bocado" para comer en el almuerzo de Navidad y Año Nuevo.

Una agradable cafetería que abre en la noche aunque yo sólo he estado allí mañana. Un encantador clientela multi generación pero la guinda del pastel es el frente de señora de la casa. Morgan que es tan bueno con nosotros, los adultos, pero simplemente fantástico con los niños. Qué encontrar. Y me refiero a la personal!

Mientras trabajan en la zona decidimos visitar un gran desayuno con un colega. La señora que nos atendió era educado y amable, sin embargo, cuando trajeron el desayuno fue sin duda no está a la altura. Los granos todavía estaban fríos y calientes ni siquiera me refiero a cálido. Las tostadas ni siquiera liberar la mantequilla fue fría. Setas el mismo. Nos quejamos y los platos fueron retirados y cuando los granos eran más cálidos de volver. Tostadas no habían sido cambiadas o calentado. Decidimos dejar el desayuno dejar y no pagar.

What an absolutely fantastic place this is! The food is so tasty, the service is outstanding. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. I adore the style of the decor. It's just perfect! Well done staff!

Voy a la cafetería para fines más Morso uno de sus desayunos y un capuchino. El personal es increíblemente amable y acogedor, y sin falta de su servicio con una sonrisa. Los desayunos son especialmente buenas y como no comer gluten el personal es muy útil cuando se trata de diseñar su menú sin gluten alternativas para gratis. Gran lugar y siempre tenemos ganas de ir allí :).

Excelente el mejor café de la zona buen ambiente y el trato agradable la verdad quede sorprendido seguro volveré y recomiendo a mis amigos a todos en general la señorita que nos atendió muy atentamente y se esforzó para hacernos el café como nos gusta a los españoles sus pastas buenisimas

Bonito lugar para sentarse y tomar un café o una comida. El personal no t hacen sentir apresurado y cuidar de usted durante su visita.

Primera vez - una gran variedad, incluyendo mi favorito huevos Benedict que resultó ser delicioso. También incluye el estupendo café capuchino descafeinado que tiene un sabor fuerte. Sin duda que lo convierte en un preferido de ahora en adelante, el personal muy amable y eficiente, una decoración elegante y un ambiente relajado.

Good quality food and nice coffee. It is nice to have an independently owned coffee shop and cafe in the village. It is nicely furnished and decorated and staff are welcoming.

The service, and ambience is always warm, welcoming and relaxing. My family and I regularly enjoy our weekend breakfasts here. Recently enjoyed a live music evening, singer was great, delicious, pizzas, burgers and cocktails.

Esta es la segunda vez ahora que he pedido un bocadillo que ha caído por debajo de la calidad esperada de un desagradable incluso sub café estándar. No pude celebrar el sandwich esta vez fue tan malo, casi lo tiró en la papelera, pero como era la segunda vez fue no me gustó perder libras. Pedimos el mismo sandwich unos días antes como una sandwichera, pero tenía que chuck, ya que estaba lleno de mantequilla/grasa del Queso derretido y así que pensé probar el frío, ¡puaj! Puedo decir que no intento de rectificar por hacerme otro, pero entonces me pareció que había olvidado añadir algunos de los ingredientes! Es una pena ya que el personal siempre es agradable y el lugar antes; Tienda de la Verde era increíble y se tomó el tiempo para preparar incluso la más básica de alimentos.

On attempting to pay the bill, I literally stood there for 5 whole minutes trying to get attention. Even waving my money had no effect, until the hubby came back in to find out what was keeping me! Such a let down that simple polite manners were missing...

Entró en el lugar para sus noches de potenciales, ya que viven y anuncian la música en vivo que nos encanta. Fui por mi cuenta y té y pasteles ordenados. Sábado y esperamos 10 minutos para que éste sea entregado a mi mesa (sólo había otra mesa de 2 y que estaban ya bien en su comida por el tiempo que llegué!). También 3 personal trabajando, así que ¿por qué tardaron tanto tiempo nunca se sabe! Té y bizcocho era paquete en la mesa sin acuse de recibo. Té y pasteles y básicamente un lugar agradable, pero no es bueno si el personal no calentarse y ser un poco más rápida y amable! No molestes más!

Llegue temprano, muy popular. Visitamos aquí para el desayuno, me sentaba afuera viendo el mundo pasar, personal amable, tuvimos tres cafés, huevos florentina y huevos revueltos con salmón y fue todo menos de £20. La comida era deliciosa, perfección y sin duda volveremos a visitar. Me costó encontrar cualquier información de sus menús en línea, aunque, ¿podría agregar a su página de Facebook?

This used to be a great place to eat but lunch there recently was a disaster. Waited 40 mins for food, are order was 'lost', then when it arrived it was awful

The new opening hours (from 8) make Morso great for a quick take out quality coffee on the way to the station or even better for a more leisurely breakfast. Friendly staff with good food at reasonable prices.

Popped in with my mum for coffee and cake. Lovely place and I'm able to walk from my house. Will be returning
