Cozy little cafe with a nice view of the beach. Service was quick and friendly. Cappucino and cullen skink were lovely. Only feedback I'd give is that the cullen skink could have done with a little more potato and touch of fresh herbs like parsley but overall happy with the service.

Very misleading and dishonest. The prices on the menu are not what you pay for, they don’t include VAT. When you get the bill at the end you get charged extra 20% VAT. VAT should be included on the prices in the menu so customer knows what they’re paying in the first place.

Lovely food, friendly service. We've been here a few times. The food is very nice and they have always been very accommodating of my 2 small kids. Last time I was in they helped me find somewhere to put the buggy when it was busy and were very careful to keep anything hot away from the kids. The kids meal is also good. Nice view of the sea too

We went in for lunch today it was very busy but we managed to get a seat outside. The girl took our orders so we ordered a starter and a main and kids meal. They brought all the food out together, when we said about the mains being cold as we had to have our starter they said the kitchen was busy and could not keep our mains warm. Anyway that got sorted then it started to rain and instead of moving us with food inside the said to people with drinks so I asked if we could go in and yes there was a table so that was fine. When the mains came my carbonara was bland had no flavour what so ever. We will definitely not be back. We now live in Portobello and it was very disappointing the food was so bland.

Located at a really great spot directly opposite portobello beach, this restaurant is a convenient pick for dinner! I came primarily for fish and chips, and while it was steeply priced at £15, the portion was quite big. That being said, the fish itself was underseasoned. The chips, peas, and tartar sauce that accompanied it were great - except I wish they provided an option to add vinegar and salt to the chips. Overall, this place is more so about convenience over price and taste.

A lovely, cosy place just off the promenade in Portobello with a gorgeous view of the Firth. Stopped for a little treat and a warm drink on a warm Saturday morning, there were lots of spaces available even though the area was quite busy. Vegan cakes were available, as well as a large selection of plant-based m!lks. The Alpro stash was very impressive!! The oat chai latte was lovely and delicate, perfectly accompanied by the rich vegan cake. Would definitely recommend this place for a nice cake and warm drink after a walk on the beach!

This place is always quite busy however we got a nice seat in the window to look at the views. Nice coffee, lots of choice of cakes, I went for the blueberry and lime, was lovely. The guy that took our order didn't seem interested in his work in the slightest, shuffling around the place looking like he was trying to avoid doing anything, maybe he's new, maybe he's shy but it wasn't very good customer service. The other guy who brought us our coffees had much better customer interaction. This place is dog friendly. There were about 5/6 dogs in when we were there and a couple were quite barky and unsettled, it didn't make for a very relaxing atmosphere. Maybe limiting the amount of dogs allowed in would be a good idea for those not wanting to be near dogs or put them to one section of the cafe.

Love the look, both I side and out. I would love to visit again and again however the ability to have instructions given to the serving staff replicated by the kitchen and barrista was a challenge when looking to eat Keto and have drinks a little weaker than the norm. Communication needs to be improved.

Bacon pancakes and cappuccino awful. Like a time warp to 1985. Cappuccino milk burnt bitter. Bacon fat not remotely rendered. Simply not good enough. Shop bought processed pancakes. Awful.

Flat white with coconut milk very nice, customer service as well. Toilets however are outdated and not the cleanest.

Beach front coffee and a cake. Lovely surroundings and view over the Forth. Huge selection of cakes and tasty treats. Good set menu of family favourites with a few scottish specialities. My Miro Burger was a jucy hand-made patty and perfectly cooked. Kids menu also has a good set of choices. Compact inside, ground floor, a wheelchair could be accommodated but would be tight. Staff are friendly and attentive, I watched them manage a large family group with young children well. High chairs available. Groups larger than 8 would be a challenge. Top tips: lovely open fronted ice cream stand for a quick ice cream and coffee stop. Pricey, but the quality is high, and the portions are good. It is worth it for the view and location.

Good chai latte in comfortable surroundings and pleasant staff

This is an excellent place to eat. The food is of a good quality and there is plenty of choice. The restaurant is well staffed and the service excellent. We would recommend a visit if you are visiting Portobello. But remember to book!!

We stopped in for coffee, tea, and cake to get out of the rain. Service was wonderful! My chai latte was maybe the best I'd ever had and my husband's coffee was wonderful, as well.

Udon was sucks..it tasted like drinking straight from the sea.

A surprisingly sudden and uncaring experience when sheltering from wind & rain after early morning swim (dressed apart from shoes & socks). Only 2, friendly, customers in. Surprisingly & sadly staff acted in a repulsed & disgusted manner, ordering me out - only entered inside the door asking if I could stand in the door way, put shoes on before sitting down for a coffee, as rain & wind had defeated me at that point. Moved on two doors down to what was a bustling warm & friendly cafe - no wonder (?) and a real shame….

We ended up walking out of Miro's because they were so awful on allergens. The first guy didn't seem to really know what gluten is and pointed to the only item on the menu that said GF. I explained that I wanted to ask about another item to see if it would be ok for me and he said the usual chef wasn't there so he couldn't ask. I asked to speak to someone else who said she couldn't tell me what's in the food and the chef doesn't feel comfortable cooking for allegies. I told her that legally she has to be able to tell me about allergens. She said they are too busy. She then sent me the first guy again so he could speak to the chef. He then came back with a third guy but by this time I decided I couldn't trust them to make me food that is safe to eat so we left. Very disappointed with this experience. We then went to another place nearby who looked after us so well, had a detailed allergen menu and explained everything beautifully.

Not many options esp for vegetarians but would definitely recommend their chai latte and carrot cake. Atmosphere can be better but there were more dogs than people and it smelt weird

Nice and friendly, good coffees. 👍 Wow ... what a fab place, with a lovely setting. Great location, Miros is situated right on the promenade overlooking Portobello beach ⛱️ its a fantastic beach. Had a fabulous walk along here and the beach is huge and has everything, cafes, tea rooms, amusements, a new leisure centre, vans for cake, snacks, the regular burgers, hot dogs etc. Also ... public toilets available too on the promenade. Finding ourselves in Miros felt warm and relaxing inside, the staff were attentive and served us lovely ☕️ coffees. There's a fabulous extensive menu. A breakfast menu 8.00-12 and such a huge choice of food for brunch and evening menu including baked seabass, prices are reasonable too. It is really quite spacious inside and tastefully decorated. A wonderful find as a cafe/restaurant to visit and has everything eg burgers, pastas, and great selection of seafood, tempura prawns. You must look as there's something for everyone. You can pop in for just coffees, teas and also choose from a great selection of cakes/deserts, rainbow cake caught my eye on the menu and lighter bites available too.😋 👌xxx

Lovely breakfast & coffee with my Mum there today - excellent quick service, delicious food (we both had sausage on a roll, mine with brown sauce hers with mushrooms) & caramel oat lattes - All was delicious, not a crumb or drop left. Also asked to move over to the bay window seats when they became available to dog-spot and wait staff were very accomodating moving us over (Note dogs are welcome & many customers around us were of the canine variety with their humans which I adore). Lovely experience overall, fairly priced & highly recommend.

Filthy weather dog walks on the beach need a warm respite, a hot coffee, nice music, a place for my friend, and smiling faces. Miro's never fails.

Abbiamo ordinato delle crepes. Discrete. Unica stranezza e che l'abbiano servite tagliate a pezzi e non intera e una per volta. Non siamo riusciti a mangiarle insieme. Locale con pochissime persone e una vita per fare una crepe. Che poi una crepes viene circa 7 euro

Lovely place for lunch along the promenade. The seating can be tight and it can be understaffed at busy times. The Cullen skink and the house salad I had was excellent.

The cake was beautiful I had Lime, Zuchinni and Ginger. The portion size was very good, which helped me understand as the cake was expensive. The coffee was lovely. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable

Service was without a smile without a chat and without a thank you. Stuff seems to be lost, not confident... or untrained... understaffed maybe ? It is a very cosy and pretty place, the food was served quickly and hot but was a bit disappointing, very basic and the croque monsieur was dry, barely a tea spoon of bechamel in it.... won't come back.

This place has everything, brilliant location on the beach promenade, happy and friendly staff, great menu, child friendly and a spot on "beach chique" vibe. Also does coffee, cake and crêpe takeaway from the side bar directly on the promenade.

They are so inclusive and wellcoming. I always treated nicely by the people working here and the food was so fresh and delicious

Please avoid this place at all!!!! The worst place you can go to eat, please avoid it. In this place we have had the worst experience of our lives, they take ages to serve the food, they told us that it would only take 40 min and it took 1 and 45 min, do not apologize until you tell them something, they did not have any kind gesture with us, the waiters laughed at us when we complained, the food is very expensive and it is not good. Please never go to this restaurant.!!! The treatment has been unacceptable!!!! Thanks

Disappointing. Indifferent staff and over priced. Paid £6 for a bog standard herbal teabag and one piece of stale toast with single-use-plastic wrapped butter.

Location is great. Menu is really good, our food and the food on the tables around us was amazing. Good drinks menu but limited beer selection. Staff were really nice but service was a little slow tonight.

brilliant food ,very pleasant and attentive staff, and a really nice relaxed atmosphere. definitely recommend. have been here many times for a breakfast on a Sunday morning. we love it.

I asked for breakfast inside. The house was full, but I got a place. Thank you. I ordered veggie breakfast, cappu and fresh pressed juice, cause I had a nice rememver to my delicious breakfast yesterday in EDI old town. I got a bad cappu, a juice out of the box and black grilled mushrooms and butter which might saw the fridge long time ago ( diff. yellow stripes). The price was nearly the same as yesterday, but the food was unfortunately not nearly good as yesterday ( I am sorry). I can not re ommend that and I hope I won't get ill from that breakfast. The best was the view to the beach.

The customer service here was the worst I’ve ever experienced. We waited for an hour and a half for our food (which then gave us food poisoning). Trying to contact the restaurant after this was extremely challenging, and the staff were rude, unresponsive and unapologetic. I would strongly recommend against eating at this restaurant.

Poor service on Mother's Day - very busy but our food order was forgotten about and then arrived in fits and starts. Offered a free drink each but still a pity that our group of 4 couldn't eat together. 2 dishes were slightly burnt too. Also very irritating that after 2 hours sitting in here we were told we couldn't buy a cake from the counter and would need to join the end of the takeaway queue outside. We've eaten here before and had a better experience.

Drinks arrived when we where leaving and after people where forced to have food before it went cold WITHOUT WATER!!!!!!!! Evil waiters pee loudly at booth seating area and ignored many requests for water and sugar. When someone at table asked for sugar she was given mayonnaise. Upon complaint about “mayonnaise situation “ the lady just walked away. Food was okay but incredibly overpriced (£8 for 3 , store bought tasting, pancakes w a teaspoon of Nutella on top), doubt will return to sit in.

ordered tap water and it came after we had finished our food and the coffee, rude waitresses and didn't care for their customers. at the least the food wasnt awful.

Great breakfast. Let down by cramped space causing the waiting staff issues, constantly open door made it very cold. Many patrons got up and closed it.

Super slow service. Came here on the weekend and it was horrendous. Got pancake and it took ages to come, with EGGSHELLS in it! Eggshells! They gave me a new one but didn’t give me any discount or anything. Then my coffee came after the food. And they forgot to put oat milk instead of whole milk in it - only told me after I’ve had a sip. So many errors. Food was average. They need better management and organisation.

Lovely evening meal and we came back the next day for coffee and cake and another great experience.

We are guests often there. Great place to eat and relax. Amazing staff, very friendly and talented Polish chef and the food is always fresh and amazing. It's also clean and simply beautiful. Perfect view spot!

Best breakfast on the Prom, well worth a visit at anytime.

Welcoming and friendly service from all staff members. The dogs were also made very welcome with a bowl of water placed at the table which they enjoyed after a run about on the beach. The falafel wrap was delicious (they cooked the falafel perfect, nice and moist not all dry and crumbly as so often found). The coffee was perfection.

Forget all other five star review I've ever done. This is THE best. We had calamari to start and then I had king prawn pasta my husband had the Seafood feast. It was superb! Washed down with the Chilean sauvigon blanc. A wonderful experience with very attentive service.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Miros, a perfect serve from the waitress as seen in picture, really fresh crisp water 10/10 pour want a jug for myself… food was mouth watering! None of this compares to the superb atmosphere and excellent music.

Nice place however breakfast very disappointing. Very small portion of Zatar avocado egg toast with pouched egg completely cold, thin layer of avocado which didn't taste fresh and I have no idea where went the Zatar spice mix as it didn't taste of anything. For coffee okay, for breakfast no.

Lovely food, friendly service, seaside views....Ideal place to relax and recharge the batteries, catch up with friends. Looking forward to warm weather when we can sit outside again. Tonight just at closing time we were treated to brilliant moonlight on the water. Magic!

£8 for a 175 measure of red wine, £5 for a piece of carrot cake, service was very slow, lovely location and friendly staff, dog friendly

Went for brunch with a friend and my young son. Arrived at 11:30 and was told that we could not order from the children's menu until 12pm so there was nothing he could have! Staff were not very attentive and food was average. I had quite a watery Cullen skink. They also had the front bifold doors open to serve ice cream.. in January! The place became extremely cold and there was a few young babies in the restaurant.

This is a fabulous café right on the beachfront. The food is excellent, the service is equally good. A perfect spot for a bit of brunch.

Had breakfast there on the 22nd December. Absolutely delicious food, great portions and fantastic service. Will definitely be back!

Amazing place, great food, great view and service. I would give them six stars if I could. The place feels a little bit crammed, but not too much.

This is a place that has enormous potential, yet untapped. We were just strolling on Portobello Beach and wanted to treat ourselves to a cuppa with a nice view. We were disappointed by the following: 1) The coffees are extremely overpriced for such a place and for Edinburgh. This is not the Balmoral and only two tables in the entire restaurant offer (relatively average) views on the sea. I understand they roast their own coffee, yet that does not make paying over 3 pounds for a cappuccino worthy. I suggest moving away from in-house roasting if this is what's driving the excessively high coffee prices. 2) The premises themselves are COLD on a chilly winter day. Makes the high prices even more unbearable. At least give me a warm, comfy and pleasant environment! The owners may wish to consider investing in heating, again, over in-house coffee roasting. 3) I ordered an espresso and waited 20 MINUTES and had to remind the waiter/waitress. This is unacceptable in any place, but even more so in such a place that purports itself to be a prime spot, yet offers overpriced coffee in a cold environment and long waiting times. 4) A reviewer working in hospitality noted that the vibe is not perfect. Indeed there might be some issues in the team, as we also did not feel a great welcome. Only one waiter was kind enough to smile, but they seemed generally distracted and in that type of mood where they are sort of making you a favour. Nothing bad happened, but one can sense such vibe. All in all, sorry guys but it's a big NO NO.
