My wife and I had some time to kill before our 10AM reservation to enter the British Museum. This cafe is, literally, right around the corner. I found it here on TA. We each had a breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon and a baguette. We also shared a pain au chocolat. We could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The scrambled eggs were buttery and perfectly cooked. The bacon smoky, but the true "eye opener" was the baguette! It was life affirming :). It was a perfect combination of a crackly crisp crust with a light airy center. I don't think I've ever had one as good. The pain au chocolat was also excellent with incredible laminations and great quality chocolate. The place is the cafe for the culinary students at the London branch of Le Cordon Bleu so you would expect the food to be good. The "icing on the cake" was how inexpensive it was. The eggs, bacon and baguette were something like 6.50 GBP. Yes, it was served on disposable plates but try to find this quality of breakfast for that price anywhere else in the city!

Wonderful French cafe serving breakfast. We had stopped here on our way to the British Museum (around the corner) and had a lovely French breakfast. Very clean and the staff were friendly. Would highly recommend!

I organised a tea gathering for twenty two people we all worked in different parts of the world. The staff were just Brilliant in making it happen. Cakes were exquisite and service was given with charm and understanding that we were meeting as a group for the first time. They helped make it a huge success.

What a great find, near the British museum in a little courtyard. Great coffee, not bitter and we had eggs and bacon like no other. Scrambled eggs served in a little cast iron pot, kept them warm with delicious smoked bacon slices and baguette roll, crunchy crust but soft on the inside. £17 for two people in central London great value especially given the quality of food. Will be back. It is a cookery school, the cafe has been opened to the public and there is a separate restaurant.

We have been to an excellent cafe across the courtyard from this place but have never given this place a go. We came for lunch. Hot food stops at 11am unfortunately apart from soup. We therefore tried a beef baguette which was served with some dressed salad leaves. The quality of the bread and the beef was amazing but it was relatively expensive at £7.40 eat in. We also had a French macaroon which was lovely and reasonably priced at £1.10. Tea was a bag rather than leaves and served in a large pot. The cafe itself is quite basic and not the place you would want stay in for too long.

Was looking forward to going here because I heard it's attached to a chef training school. Was disappointed to be told, while looking at a nice lunch menu, that I wasn't able to have anything from it after 11am. I arrived at 12.30, which feels like a good time for lunch? Was shown to a selection of 3 cakes and 2 slightly dry sandwiches. No pastries left. Bought one of each for the table, the bread was excellent but very overpriced, cakes were mediocre.

We were in the area randomly and with time to kill and feeling peckish fell into the courtyard behind the London Review books store where there are several nice places to eat. It was breakfast time so we chose the Cafe Le Cordon Bleu, primarily fir coffee and croissant, but upon entering were distracted by the delicious looking ham and cheese baguettes and poached egg and smashed avocado on toast offerings. Perhaps needless to say, considering it’s a cooking school the ingredients were high quality and perfectly cooked and presented. I have come to appreciate the beauty of simple high quality ingredients done well, this is one of those places that does this exceptionally well. Highly recommended for restoring your faith in culinary standards and for a little boost of taste bud stimulation.

With so many cafes around in London, it can be difficult to sort out the chaff from the wheat. This place was a treat; beautiful location, friendly service, lovely tasty, hot Cortado & a proper Croissant. Not over priced either. Will come back for lunch.

On a hot day, after several hours attending an exhibition, it was a pleasant relief to enjoy the peace, quiet and shade of the dining area in Pied Bull Yard, only minutes from the teeming British Museum. The Cordon Bleu Café offers the quality of light refreshments expected of a prestigious catering school (with a price to match). Our hot snack and dessert was both welcome and enjoyable, and I can honestly say that the small Tiramisu I chose was the best I have tasted for a very long time. Service, also was very friendly and helpful.

We wondered why there were so many chefs in the area before realising we were actually at the Le Cordon Bleu School of Cooking. This is a delightful cafe space--well lit by natural light. Outside there is also plenty of seating in a small private courtyard area. The staff are excellent and their attention to detail really impressive . The coffees were superb and the meals excellent value and decent portions.

The tea was lovely but I wasn’t impressed with the tropical eclairs that i also had; the pastry tasted a little dry and it did not pack the flavour punch I was expecting in a £4 cake!

My husband and I visited yesterday for lunch. We had a couple of sandwiches with salad, two eclairs, a small bottle of mineral water and two pots of tea. The cost was a whopping £29. One of the sandwiches was good the other was pretty average, with very little filling. The eclairs were awful with choux pastry that was dry and hard. The chocolate filling was also very firm and looked dull not glossy. Overall they did not seem fresh. This was a poor value meal and not at all appetizing. Very disappointing considering this is a cafe attached to a prestigious cookery school. We won't be returning.
