Been popping in here over the past 2 years. Both the quality and the range of food on offer is stellar, with something for you whether you're in a trencherman mood or on a diet. The staff are consistency personified: quick, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. This place surely is one of London's top best kept secrets?

I visited the Cordon Bleu Café and had a positive experience. The staff was really thoughtful, which I highly appreciated! I tried the apricot, honey, and lavender tart, and it was really good! I enjoyed the flavors, especially the lavender, which was delightful. The biscuit was a liiiittle bit dry but nothing too crazy. The prices of the pastries were good for London (though the croissant and pain au chocolat were a bit expensive at £4 and £4.50). The inside of the café isn't particularly beautiful, but the outside seating area is cuter, which is nice.

Found Cafe Cordon Bleu after a visit to the British Museum. We were looking for somewhere to have coffee and something light to eat. I was a little disappointed ,as i am coeliac that there was no gluten free menu. However the staff were friendly and apologetic. There was however a GF cake available which I accepted. The chocolate and almond cake was delicious and the latte i had to accompany it was superb. Hopefully next time I visit London Cafe Cordon Bleu will have a few more GF alternatives available as i would definitely visit Cafe Cordon Bleu again.

My wife and I had some time to kill before our 10AM reservation to enter the British Museum. This cafe is, literally, right around the corner. I found it here on TA. We each had a breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon and a baguette. We also shared a pain au chocolat. We could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The scrambled eggs were buttery and perfectly cooked. The bacon smoky, but the true "eye opener" was the baguette! It was life affirming :). It was a perfect combination of a crackly crisp crust with a light airy center. I don't think I've ever had one as good. The pain au chocolat was also excellent with incredible laminations and great quality chocolate. The place is the cafe for the culinary students at the London branch of Le Cordon Bleu so you would expect the food to be good. The "icing on the cake" was how inexpensive it was. The eggs, bacon and baguette were something like 6.50 GBP. Yes, it was served on disposable plates but try to find this quality of breakfast for that price anywhere else in the city!

Wonderful food and coffee but appalling service. The person at the till communicates by gesturing rather words and when I misunderstood that thwy served at tables rather than at the till he let me sit outside waiting rather than calling me in. When pointing out that I misunderstood because he gestured in the direction of the courtyard there was no apology and barely any word of comprehension. I had to point to each cake I wanted to order because they didn't understand the french names clearly written, nor what caffe au lait is. I expected something veeeery different from the name and fame of this place.. Hugely disappointed in the service

What a great find, near the British museum in a little courtyard. Great coffee, not bitter and we had eggs and bacon like no other. Scrambled eggs served in a little cast iron pot, kept them warm with delicious smoked bacon slices and baguette roll, crunchy crust but soft on the inside. £17 for two people in central London great value especially given the quality of food. Will be back. It is a cookery school, the cafe has been opened to the public and there is a separate restaurant.

There was an olive skinned lady and an Afro Carribean gentleman who were very busy with the previous orders but took a moment out of their tasks to acknowledge me and reassure me they would be as quick as possible. The food and coffee are arguably the best in England. Not to mention the desserts which are creative and amazing to look at. When you bite into them they give such a variety of flavour it's just great. We have been to an excellent cafe across the courtyard from this place but have never given this place a go. We came for lunch. Hot food stops at 11am unfortunately apart from soup. We therefore tried a beef baguette which was served with some dressed salad leaves. The quality of the bread and the beef was amazing but it was relatively expensive at £7.40 eat in. We also had a French macaroon which was lovely and reasonably priced at £1.10. Tea was a bag rather than leaves and served in a large pot. The cafe itself is quite basic and not the place you would want stay in for too long.

Was disappointed to be told, while looking at a nice lunch menu, that I wasn't able to have anything from it after 11am. I arrived at 12.30, which feels like a good time for lunch? We were in the area randomly and with time to kill and feeling peckish fell into the courtyard behind the London Review books store where there are several nice places to eat. It was breakfast time so we chose the Cafe Le Cordon Bleu, primarily fir coffee and croissant, but upon entering were distracted by the delicious looking ham and cheese baguettes and poached egg and smashed avocado on toast offerings. Perhaps needless to say, considering it’s a cooking school the ingredients were high quality and perfectly cooked and presented. I have come to appreciate the beauty of simple high quality ingredients done well, this is one of those places that does this exceptionally well. Highly recommended for restoring your faith in culinary standards and for a little boost of taste bud stimulation.

Coffee tasted like literal donkey milk. I have no idea what donkey milk tastes like but my guess is the espresso at Le Cordon Bleu contains some. I don't know if it always tastes like that there or if this was a specific problem but that's not really acceptable at all. Also a plastic bottle of store-bought orange juice (330ml) was 3.5£???? Additionally, when you go to a french café and order an orange juice you often expect it to be made with real oranges on the spot, especially for 3.5£. Bad pricing, bad coffee... to top it off the description said "1950s style"... the deco was modern. EDIT: I tried the croissant, which was not bad. Maybe a 4/5 croissant. Therefore in the spirit of fairness I have added one star.

I won't be going there again! I object rather strongly to being charged £1-00 for an extra tea bag, when one bag produces weak, tasteless tea. Oddly, I had visited there with friends for the previous 4 Mondays and they had always been happy to supply an extra bag with asked. We had planned to go there for the rest of Oct until the weather closes in, but now we will go elsewhere. Odd way to run a business to lose £80-100 trade all because of one tea-bag

One of the sandwiches was good the other was pretty average, with very little filling. The eclairs were awful with choux pastry that was dry and hard. The chocolate filling was also very firm and looked dull not glossy. Overall they did not seem fresh. This was a poor value meal and not at all appetizing. Very disappointing considering this is a cafe attached to a prestigious cookery school. We won't be returning.
