Lovely cafe! With friendly staff! The food there is very good and tasty! I often come hers for a coffee and to read my book! Relaxing atmosphere!

Chilled on weekdays for reading a book or writing/working. Busy on weekends. ENORMOUS sandwiches. Great coffee.

Me and my little ones have always loved Cafe G, the staff treat us so well and we can't wait for the next visit! Thanks for being amazing.

Ever had food that’s so bad it leaves you questioning your life choices? Well you will if you come here. The photo is supposed to be a shakshuka, but was more of an extremely salty soup. My partner had a full English which was also so awful we had to leave most of it. Cheap ingredients, cooked poorly. Absolutely no care and attention gone into either the food or the coffee.

Good coffee, super friendly staff, they put up with my dog’s nonsense.

Great location, beautiful cafe, lovely staff. the food is very hot and miss. The shakeshuka as others have said was very watery and lacked flavour. The Turkish eggs were swimming in oil and almost not edible - prices are also quite high. The pastries can be stale.

Café G is our clear family favourite. Wonderful people, huge delicious food and even serves a great selection of drinks and cocktails. All other cafés should hang their heads in shame.

Went for the shakshoumi - absolutely delicious but unbelievably filling. Could not finish, as much as I tried, due to the sheer amount of food crammed into the bowl. Excellent service from Shannon and beautiful setting in the courtyard, escaping from - what has been a rarity this summer - the mid-afternoon sun!

Great little cafe right in the heart of Margate. We wanted a good value straighforward bit of lunch, nothing too fancy with a decent cup of tea, which isn't the easiest thing to find in Margate nowadays. However we found it here. I had a fish finger sandwich and chips and hubby had a greek meat panini (or something like that). Everything was fresh and delicious, and best of all, they serve Yorkshire tea!!! There are plenty of other menu options, not all as plain as a fish finger sarnie! But we knew what we were looking for and we found it in Cafe G. Will definitely go again when I return to Margate in August. The staff are all very very good. Oh, and the icecream is fab too.

What these guys have got going here is great! Great food, service and vibe. Could not fault anything. We had the salmon avocado toast, with side of halloumi and full English.

Stylish, full of natural light and huge windows looking out onto Peckham Rye park. Great for brunch and lunch and the food is consistently superb. Nice terrace too for when the weather's decent.

Perfect for babies. Customer service from the 2 men was 10/10. So friendly, welcoming, thoughtful to me and my baby, they already think about how to make everything child friendly. I felt very comfortable and the music kept me going when baby was throwing food at me. I’ll be back! I ordered egg and sausage on toast. Massive and beautifully displayed.

The Cafe G Is a cafe situated on the seafront of Margate just opposite the harbour. It has table seating both inside and outside. The cafe is clean and the staff were helpful. The service was very quick. The food when it was delivered was amazing, the amount and the fresh quality. The cafe is very busy, but well worth a visit.

Sunday,had family lunch time meal. The service was great. It very hard to fine good cafe. Will be back.

Seriously disappointed. Burgers tasted like birds eye frozen burgers with undercooked bacon. Wings were atrocious, like pre cooked from a supermarket and microwaved in cheap sauce. Sent fries back as they were oil sponges. Given halloumi fries as replacement and only fried/grilled on ones side. Not one item was enjoyable and could have cooked a better meal at home from Iceland. Needless to say we won't be returning.

My 95 year old Auntie Denise requested a lunch visit to Café G on her birthday. All went very well she enjoyed her day out and had her first ever panini, followed with a blue raspberry ice cream. 95 times round the Sun, and never had a panini or a blue raspberry ice cream until this day. Everything was delicious was her reply. We were very well served, which helped make the day very special for my auntie. Thanks to the helpful staff for making the day go so well.

Nearly £40 for 2 english breakfasts with coffee. Daylight robbery. Good was verging on cold and coffee was served in a glass. My pet hate.

A lovely cafe near the rye but food is hit and miss. Shakshouka is way too soupy with eggs swimming in the tomato and pepper stock. Full English is good though.

Had a group of 4 with a baby , the food was average i expected more .

After a few days of passing finally managed to get a table for 7. Great service. The Greek panini with Greek salad was 5 star. Ice cream is excellent. The price for quality of food is amazing. Especially compared to others close by.

A lovely cozy neighborhood cafe with view on Peckham Rye Park. Food is great, but the friendliness of staff is what keeps me coming back! Shannon is a shining light at this establishment, welcoming, cheerful and bright, having a chat with her always brightens my day alongside a nice cup of coffee. I also appreciate Mason who always makes me laugh and has great stories to tell- coming here regularly, chatting with staff, seeing many cute dogs, eating good brunch is always a treat.

I really love cafe G. and it is the best shakshuka which I ate but unfortunately since there are some new service people I have always problem when I want to pay by cash, if you ask for something especially one guy is making always faces because you are bothering him. But still I will give you my recommendation for this place because the food is very delicious.

Cool in the summer, cosy in the winter. Always good coffee, food and service. A local hit.

Not the first time when there’s 4 members of staff behind the bar but it still takes ages to get a couple of coffees like nowhere else :(

I've been waiting 45mins for my meal because staff lost my order and nobody even come to ask the waiting costumer with empty table.

Lovely place and setting, but food a big let down. Chicken burger overcooked with gloopy coleslaw and soggy fries. Falafel bowl and Caesar salad also disappointed. Shame as the setting is nice and staff friendly!

We visited here on the end of August bank holiday and it was a very good brunch. I enjoyed the Shakshoumi - it was huge in quantity, but maybe lacked that extra bit of taste. That said, I would still recommend it. My partner had the pancakes (without banana) and likewise enjoyed it. Service a bit hit and miss but overall a nice enough place and would go back.

We walked into Margate up to the centre of town. It was very hot so we walked down to the harbour area and found a table outside on the piazza area . We were served very quick by a young man who was very polite and well dressed . We ordered our panini and coke and considering it was quite busy the service was very quick. Price wise it is in keeping with other eateries in the area .,

Nice cafe with freshly cooked wholesome breakfasts and friendly staff. Disappointing that the eggs are not free-range and that the sauces are in plastic pouches creating plastic waste with every portion. I really wanted Eggs but won’t eat eggs from caged animals.

Great food and setting. A little slow service though. They could do with buying a toilet seat that fits the toilet!

Favourite cafe around, it’s such a lovely spot for coffee or breakfast. The team are always really amazing and often remember our orders without us saying anything. Constant summer holiday vibes :) love this place

The place is big and has a lot of space for seating. It's organized more like a restaurant than a cafe and, therefore, feels more open than it does cozy and seems better for lunch than just a coffee. They have a garden area overlooking the Rye which is quite nice.

All day brunch place! Right across Peckham Rye Park. Delicious food options (brunch, smoothies, coffee and pastries) at this cafe and friendly staff. There’s plenty of patio seating and it’s kid and dog friendly :) highly recommend!

Fantastic local cafe with really great food and service. They serve great coffee, juices and the best Full English breakfast around. it’s dog friendly too!

So friendly and welcoming. Needed somewhere to feed a screaming baby and they were so nice. Food is great as well! And apparently they do live jazz nights...

Paid £6.50 for ‘soup of the day’ but it was 100% from a can. I could tell because it was thick and syrupy, like tesco value veg soup with the squishy mushy vegetables that were obviously not cut by hand. Crazy behaviour, will never return.

Food here is incredible and we always get a table even though we don’t book (wrap up in the winter though if you’re outside). Marking down one star because I find the service either a big hit or a big miss. It’s not stopped us coming back and bringing friends.

Love this place and they know how to look after their regulars. Such friendly staff as well. I go here every morning for my coffee. They do proper crispy and fresh croissants as well. Please put the chicken ceasar kale back on the menu!? So yummy.

Incredibly disappointed. Extortionate prices. Poor quality food. I went yesterday with a client and was shocked to see the prices of various goods on the menus. Given the demographic of Peckham I expected more affordability. You need only walk 10 minutes into Peckham Rye to find a local cafe that would provide food for 4 people at the price I paid for myself and my client. The tea offered was incredibly weak and distasteful I paid £2.60 and it honestly taste like dishwater. The staff were not friendly and made me feel like an inconvenience. I will not be going here again and I would highly recommend they reconsider their menu (affordability) and the staff they employ. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying good money... but for QUALITY. What has Peckham become. It used to be a melting pot of culture and affordability for everyone?!

Great place gorgeous food, really good portions. Staff are friendly but not intrusive. Certainly very welcoming to all.

Near the amazing Gardens & opposite the Rye, well configured within for relaxed seating, eating at table & barstools & counter. Plus tables outside under awning. However ... surely there has to be a limit on how much wholesome bread 'n avocado/ variations on a theme can be on offer! Interminable foodstuffs that lost their hip allure some considerable time back. Decent cutlery when wrestling these doorsteps is a given. Flimsy, cheap utensils reduced me to asking for staff to cut my slice of leather into bite size portions as I could no longer hack & saw my way through the 'Challenge'. Lovely obliging & uncensorious staff obliged but the ignominy 😔 Drinking out of 'cups I made at my beginners pottery class' also less than pleasure inducing. Clearly a disappointing lunch date. Haven't overly whined about the poor sound system, twinkling lights, folk working online, the cold, the one grim toilet but nothing to get excited about & definitely nothing to warrant recommendation or return.

Nice cafe and great that you do gluten free toast just a shame that it wasn't as nice as on a previous occasion.

An absolutely marvellous café with food and cocktails on point!

A local staple with so many delicious options to chose from - the scrambled eggs, kale salad & pancakes w/ bacon and maple syrup are all great options for breakfast and lunch. The smoothies are a must - honestly they're all great in their own right so you can't really go wrong. Overall great spot to keep coming back to!

Delicious brunch pancakes served here and even more delicious Chai Lattes. This is the perfect place for Saturday/ Sunday brunch or a lovely cafe to get some work done. The staff are lovely and the place is constantly filled with families. It has a lovely outdoor seating area that can be used during summer.

Awesome food including good quality kids meals, perfectly fried fries. Also really nice toilets, always a good sign.

The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. They amended my order to my liking and even suggested a scrumptious substitute for the bits I didn't like. Definitely recommend it, very child friendly and good vegan choices.

Stumbled across this place whilst looking for a coffee whilst meeting family. Opted for a sandwich which was no lie eggs and avo on toast on top of a club sandwich. Good quick service on drinks and food and great quality. Highly recommend.

Extremely overpriced, serving nothing special than cafe food . We ordered the granola bowl as it was a very hot day and what we got was a rather warm yoghurt served in a small pickling jar and a drop of honey. Gosh how that yoghurt was warm .... Not to mention you gotta order at the counter as well, creating a very unnecessary traffic of people coming in and out . Could have gone to shop and bought granola and yogurt for the whole month with the money I paid for the warm granola yoghurt on the hottest day of the year so far .

Poor service and extremely rude staff. The woman walked off in the middle of taking my order without saying anything, and didn’t even apologise when she came back. They won’t be getting another penny from me for their overpriced food and it was only because I waited to long to be served today that I didn’t just walk out.

Went here for brunch at midday with a friend, we thought it might be packed and we didn’t have a booking but managed to get a table straight away. It’s in a perfect spot opposite the park and if you’re sat outside it’s quite a nice view of the park. Only downside of the outside area we were sat in was that the tables and chairs were a bit too small for my liking. Food menu really decent. I ordered the Shakshuka, you get four slices of bread with it! Some of the best sourdough I’ve had. Food was generally much better than I expected and I will be visiting again. Shame I didn’t manage to try the smoothie as they’d run out of some ingredients so just an excuse to come back!

Visited Cafe G on a girls weekend in Margate. Weather was rain, shine, rain, shine! But lovely Mathew made sure we had a brolly and we were well looked after. Enjoyed a bottle of Chapel Down fizz which was delicious. Daniel also sold us one to go home with (and popped it in a gold bag, which we loved!). Highly revolutionary Cafe G for location, vibe and exceptional service. We’ll be back.

Easily my go to. I find it so comforting at Cafe G. Delicious and diverse food and I just love to sit outside and enjoy a nice coffee and cake. There is a nice vibe about this place and I'm all about it.

Cafe G is one of my favorite place. The coffee is amazing, the cake are yummy and the food is really tasty. The service is nice and quick you don't need to wait to long for your orders. The outdoor space is great to spend time with friends and Family. Love the food, services and the ambiance.

It pains me to say this, as Cafe G used to be one of my favourite haunts for a coffee in the sun, but since undergoing a change of management the coffee here has become completely undrinkable. If you're not fussy about your coffee, it boasts a lovely al fresco dining area overlooking Peckham Rye. But if you need a proper coffee, you're better off grabbing a takeaway from Old Spike up the road and sitting in the park. If Cafe G's management is reading this, PLEASE RETRAIN YOUR BARISTAS AND BUY SOME PROPER COFFEE BEANS! If you do you will (re)gain a loyal customer!

I used to love cafe G. It’s still a lovely place to sit in the sun and child friendly but the kids menu is pretty unhealthy (burgers hot dogs etc) with only one healthier option but alas my son won’t eat avocado so that one was out. And I had Turkish eggs but was coated in almost a cm of oil and I found it too rich. I appreciate this is all just my opinion but feel not as nice as previously was

Love the selection of drinks and food on offer, catering for everyone! Ideal for families, or an evening with the girls having a few vinos. Always welcoming and accommodating. Love the Alfresco feel with the great view.

Very nice place and staff were very friendly. The food was nice too but there were literally 4 blueberries on my pancakes and they didn’t give me enough maple syrup so the pancakes themselves weren’t sweet enough to enjoy on their own. However, the pancakes were warm and fluffy and presented pleasantly. Would go there again but try a different food item.

Today I had their most excellent mixed mezo, followed by an apple strudel and a frapacino, I sat out on their terrace area with the sun on my face and a view of the sea, it was an absolute pleasure and an excellent lunch.
