We had a fantastic lunch here in the spacious outdoor seating area. The food was delicious with a great range of light bites and the chef kindly made plain sandwiches for the kids. Excellent service and great value for money. Beautiful setting in this lovely little village.

Visited the cafe at lunchtime with my daughter and young 3 year old grandson . I ordered a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich . Not a cheap option , so I was very disappointed that the bread was very dry . Also my grandson’s sauté potatoes were burnt around the edges . I really savour a good coffee and ordered an Americano . It was hot but flavourless . We both decided that we would not be visiting this cafe again , and had hoped for much more based upon the price . If I had been asked if everything was ok by the staff , I would have reported to them our experience . We like to eat in local cafes and generally always tip well and with gratitude .

Tea and coffee good. Cutlery and crockery clean. However, sandwich ordered was a disappointment. The cheese and Suffolk ham lacked flavour. The white bread was dry. Service was slow at a quiet time of day. I would visit again for hot drinks only.

I popped in to grab some lunch for myself and partner, 1 last appeared happy and approachable the other like I’d stood in dog muck in the way in! Ordered a sausage roll, salmon and cream cheese sandwich and a glass of lemonade, when I was told £11.30 I was shocked! The sausage roll pastry was raw and doughy, the sandwich was just quickly thrown together and had none of the garnish others had! Had the price have been slightly more competitive and the service been less like I was inconveniencing their day I would have been able to forgive the raw pastry! Will not return!

We are local and often visit, not looking for gravy dinners, but nice coffee, cakes, light meals and atmosphere. This café uses local bacon and famous sausages from Revetts (of world reknown) We were exceptionally impressed with how they accommodated our small birthday lunch with a few guests from 3 years to 85 years old, including one vegan! They had decorated with balloons and pretty things and made Mum very welcome. She struggles to get over the one step but thinks it's worth it. The waitress was patient and beautiful and kind. What more could we wish for? .Maybe one small thing..Cream for that lovely coffee

This could be a first rate cafe but was shocked to see the man who serving today handling cake with his hands, even though there were tongs there, likewise cooked bacon and other food stuff, then wiping his hands on his apron. VERY poor hygiene and should know better.!!

We have been coming here regularly since finding it earlier this year, we always have two capucchino's and my wife has one of the gluten free cake options and I have a bacon or sausage bap. Last Saturday, as we had more time available we both decided to have the English breakfast. This consists of local bacon and sausage from Revetts butchers across the square and fresh grilled tomato, toast and a large helping of scrambled eggs. Because the wife has a problem with gluten, they were able to provide her with gluten free toast. These were the best breakfasts that we have had in years and would highly recommend them. Well done to all the team at Cafe 46

We stopped here for a bite to eat while driving up A12. About two miles off the main road. Car park behind and opposite. £1 for two hours. Home made baking and dishes. We had spicy carrot soup with cornbread. I had a delicious salad with my brie and grape sandwich. The cakes looked delicious too. Friendly staff and a good find for future visits.

Visited here with my father whilst on holiday for a little afternoon tea. Lovely ladies running the place with a really comfortable ambience. Being someone who has to avoid wheat/wheat products I was delighted to learn that there was a gluten free lemon and almond cakes (and others) on offer. WOW - the cake was absolutely delicious. Those of you who avoid gluten in their diet will be more than aware that deserts and cakes are often a let down, this most definitely wasn't. Delicious and moist, I enjoyed every bite. My dad had a scone which he greatly enjoyed and what a wonderful pot of tea, full of flavour and not the usual insipid brew we often experience. All in all a delightful afternoon break....

called in for coffee on Saturday morning, nice seating area on the patio out front looking over the market place. we ordered two cappuchino's (1 decaf), a slice of gluten free apple and cinnamon cake (Home made) and a cheese scone. my wife, who has to have gluten free which is often difficult to obtain, said that the cake was superb and she couldn't tell that it was gluten free, my scone was delicious and served with butter in a little dish, rather than the usual individual portions wrapped in foil. The coffees were excellent. Will be back and maybe try one of your breakfasts.

My husband and I often visit this cafe after going to Campsea Ash auctions. We have always received a warm welcome from the two very enthusiastic young ladies, who I assumed were the proprietors. The cafe had a great atmosphere and was always buzzing. The Cafe must have changed hands, as on our visit today, we were met by a straight-faced woman who didn't acknowledge our arrival and stood behind the counter the whole time looking bored. The man who served us was pleasant and polite but there was no atmosphere and we couldn't wait to leave. Fortunately we only had coffees as we would have felt very uncomfortable having lunch there. What a shame! We won't be returning and will find another cafe with more of a welcome.

I admit it - I am hooked! I am a regular! What do you want from such a place? Good drinks, good food, good cheer, bonhomie, friendship, companionship, mixing of the young, the old, the sane, the batty, the regulars and the occasional visitor, the passer by, the fish-man, the faker of antiques, the RSA recognised artist with a degree in middle-eastern studies, the professor who claims to live in the village but is more often in Dubai and who has very special needs when it comes to scrambled eggs (that would be me), the authoress who only eats twix and cannot be trusted with the scrambled egg, the students who are marking time between terms but who cook the perfect scrambled egg, the travel blogger whose heart is in Antigua - who can also cook scrambled egg, the brexiteers, the europhiles, the Wickhamites, Wickham Marketeers, ... it is endless. Anyway, the point is - no one who enters is disappointed - and no one gets away without becoming one of the in-crowd. Everyone leaves with a smile on their face. The place is magic.

Visited Wickham Market for the butchers with my mum, decided to pop in for a bite to eat and a drink. The staff were absolutely lovely, friendly and made us feel welcome! The Mocha was a little lacking coffee more a hot chocolate however the Quiche was absolutely spot on!£6.50 is a little steep for the meal however was nice and an infrequent treat makes it a yes from me.

We are regular visitors after a trip to Campsea Ashe auction rooms on a Saturday or Monday and always have great service and good coffee BUT - has the coffee machine developed a fault? It is far too loud when frothing the milk - which they have to do frequently to satisfy demand.

My mother and I thought we would give this cafe in the square a go..... Very very tiny inside with limited space and I almost felt like I was going to be sitting on someone's lunch waiting in the queue and moving each time the waitress needed to get past.... No bright or cheery hello just a nod.... We had a couple of slices of cake....and two coffees and sat outside as it was just too cramped indoors.... Lovely area outside we were bought our drinks and cakes with not one word from the waitress again.... The cakes were both quite dry and disappointing as they looked so fresh... Got the feeling that if u weren't regulars you weren't looked after so well...fairly disappointed expected so much from the reviews on here

It was disorganised and crowded, and we had concerns over some of their practices, such as leaving plates of toast on the counter where the queues were and it was getting cold before the egg was put on it.,and it was getting customers breath, sneezing coughing all over it. Also one if us given a drink the other finally got it after 5 minutes. The drinks were ok but we didn't feel comfortable and doubt we would return.

Our family joined my wife and I to celebrate her birthday at "The Kitchen" on Sunday. The chef offered a choice of three roasts bookable in advance. The food was well presented and delicious, and the waiters were extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. This venture is in its infancy and the bar like surroundings could be improved. Good food at good prices. Book in advance as the opening hours are limited.

Why anyone would choose to call a cafe Tickety Boo is beyond me but the food is good and you don't eat the name! Very strange and off-putting style where they take your money before you eat - which meant we didn't order any cake after our meal as we couldn't be bothered to queue and pay all over again. None of the diners I've seen in here look like the type that would run off without paying! Despite this the food really was excellent and I will be back for more.

The owner of this place does not have a clue about running a business which includes giving polite, courteous customer service because she has none of these skills! Off hand, flippant and down right rude are skills she is good at. The staff they employ are inexperienced, ignorant and lacking any customer skills also. Asked if they could serve a flat white coffee they responded, “never heard of it” and when we asked what beer they had the waitress said one in a bottle with a red label and one with a blue label. Unbelievable! Overpriced and the food is very mediocre, we cook better and tastier at home. Never go again and would never recommend. Tip for owner, go on a management course to help your inexperienced staff and while there learn some customer service skills.
