20 minute wait for a drink and the coffee was awful. Complained to staff and still had to pay full price. Staff nice and friendly tho.

Awesome homemade cream tea with a pot of tea for a great price, great music playing in background, very friendly atmosphere, will definitely be back

Service was great, food was a fair price, was a nice place to be in. The breakfast was nice and well cooked only reason for 4 starts on food was personally I wasn't the biggest fan of the sausages they used and both the fried eggs we solid Overall though will happily go there again

Local independent cafe who do care

We had been for a mooch around the town and wanted to go somewhere local. We decided on the fat frog as my husband said he hadn’t been there in years. We were greeted upon arrival and asked if there had a table for two and we had our baby with us in the pram we chose a seat in the window out of the way from others. It was quite busy but a waitress came and took our order no more than 5 minutes after we sat down and read the menu. There is a fantastic selection of food and drink. My husband had the chicken basket which is a selection of seasoned chicken on chips. I chose a ham, cheese , mustard and pickle panini. It was a little over 30 minutes for our food but they were really busy but it was really worth the wait! The portions were really good we were really full and it was really really tasty. The staff were friendly and welcoming, we will definitely be back again 😊

Great range of traditional breakfast offerings. The set breakfast plates are ladden with quality food. Pick your own options if you want a smaller breakfast.

Was the best lunch, and brownies were delicious and really big size. Staff was great and helpful to find us a table quickly. Definitely recommend.

Last time we visited Liskeard the Fat Frog had closed as a business, so we were pleasantly surprised that it's been resurrected and turned into a really nice place to eat and drink. Long may it last.

I've eaten here many times when visiting family. The food is always fantastic and always a warm welcome. The breakfast choices are always great. Today we had lunch and I had the Mediterranean tart with rosemary fries. So nice! All washed down with a cheeky Pinot Grigio!

A stack of the misinformation newspapers (called The Light) was on the side. This promotes dangerous lies and misinformation for profit, like an article on the discredited doctor Andrew Wakefield who now makes millions from spreading anti-vaccine lies. It’s good to be skeptical and scrutinise science and medicine but this paper is full of nonsense, in my opinion a cafe shouldn’t be helping to spread dangerous lies like vaccines cause autism, this will result in less vaccination, more sickness, more death. Of course we live in a free-speech country (which is a good thing), so a cafe (or person) can say anything they like or have any paper they want on the side, but in my opinion there should be consequences for spreading dangerous lies, hence 3 stars instead of 5. The food was good, extra care was given to each element of our lunch, the service was excellent and friendly. Will we go back? not sure.

We ordered a large lunch order for delivery today to celebrate our Christmas lunch with staff. The Fat Frog did us an amazing spread, and delivered it to us when they were super busy. We use them regularly and would 100% recommend them. 5 stars!!!! Thank you

Visited during the Lantern festival so the town was very busy and we were looking for somewhere to eat. Just as we were giving up we came across The Fat Frog and so pleased we did it was the most fabulous fish and chips we have had in ages, eventhought there was plenty of other options on the menu too. Despite the cafe being so busy the owners made us feel very welcome, such great service.

I went in 4 years ago and HATED IT. Went in today with a friend for lunch what a HUGE difference ! Firstly lovely friendly staff, lovely greeting. The food was super fresh, hot and tasty. Lovely smooth coffee. Great price too. Nice decor and very clean. Was really impressed and look forward to my next visit ! Well done Fat Frog !

Great location in the centre of town after a walk round some of the steep streets. We had coffee and cake here and both were tasty and good and friendly customer service. Definately going again

A fun place to dine, especially on a Sunday afternoon in the presence of a bunch of joyful Baptists.

An absolute hidden gem. My greatest difficulty here is narrowing my order choice to one item per visit. The staff has unofficially adopted our daughters and we feel more at home here than nearly anywhere else. The food is excellent and service is the best.

Having had to make an urgent rearrangement due to another restaurant being closed the staff here were happy to help us. Excellent varied menu all cooked to order. Food was excellent and staff were incredible. Very good value for money.

Nice food but place did not allow dogs inside so sat on the street, a couple of tables just outside the premises.

Great café that is open a little later than the other restaurants in town. We had a few drinks here and had a very nice conversation with the two colleagues. The short detour out of the pedestrian zone is worth it!

the food is lovely but there are a few things missing. No bread and butter with the fish and chips, 1 pot of peas but ordered 2 meals with peas (not sure if the 1 pot is for the 2 meals) and no free garlic bread as I ordered over £30

We returned to the Fat Frog after a good first visit & tried something different. My partner, being Scottish had to try the mac & cheese burger & I had the more traditional fish & chips. We both had a Ukraine style salad, which donates 50% of the proceeds to sending aid to Ukraine. My partner thought his was amazing & my fish and chips was huuuge! It was delicious! Service is slower because they are preparing it all fresh, which makes it so much nicer. I'd rather wait & have better quality food. The chips were the best I've had in a while. We are taking our friends there this morning before they go back home to Scotland.

Just walked in and was able to have a seat, friendly staff and great atmosphere. I ordered the bullfrog breakfast and it was absolutely fantastic, quality ingredients and optional extras to pick from. I would definitely be going back again.

Excellent place to visit. We went as a family if four for brunch. 2 lots of tea cakes and 2 waffles with Greek yoghurt and fruit. All was amazing. The coffee was flavoursome and fresh. Staff were friendly and looked like they wanted to be there. We will be back.

Found this place on the off chance while on holiday. What a fantastic place. Both myself and hubby had ciabatta with salad. The food was amazing and the service excellent. Will certainly be going again before we head home.

Had a first class bacon sandwich. Best one I have had in years. Will be back again. You should give it a try you won't be disappointed. Back today and had the Cornish Cream Tea and large chocolate muffin. It was great and staff and service was excellent

No longer dog friendly, despite coming up in the top 5 when you search for dog friendly places in Liskeard. The lady we met was very rude about it too.

Delicious meal here and good for gluten free. Nice atmosphere and the fries were to die for and scrummy smoothie. Kids enjoyed the meal too. Winner all round.

Loved this place! We wanted somewhere to eat breakfast on our way to Looe. After a bit of research we found this place and we weren't disappointed! We enjoyed our food so much, we returned later in the week for lunch too! 😋

Driving through the area between day trip venues and parked up to get some lunch in Liskeard. Found the Fat Frog by chance and so glad we did. Catered for our family of 4 (mum, dad, 13yr and 10yr old). So much choice it was hard to choose. Went for.... Halloumi panini, chicken bucket, spicy noodles and sausages and mash! Generous portions and good value for the quality and size! Even able to takeaway out leftovers! All happily fed and watered. Thank you.

We loved our breakfast at The Fat Frog. We were on a road trip visiting from Australia and this was our best breakfast we had. Heaps of options for everyone and great service.

Visited after reading some great reviews. It was so good we went for breakfast and returned later the same day for dinner. Quite possibly the best breakfast we've had, and the noodles were epic! Couldn't recommend this place more. Amazing food, friendly staff, spotlessly clean and a welcoming comfortable atmosphere.

We stopped here for a bit of lightblunch, Green tea and a chicken baguette. Both items very tasty and filling. Place itself is really nicely done and feels comfy and relaxing. The staff were excellent very friendly and efficient.

This eatery has improved 200% since Mark and his wife took it on a few years ago! I used to come here 20 years ago before it expanded into the William Hill bookie next door and it was a dark, poky little place. Today, it is spacious with great food, decor and lovely staff. I would highly recommend this place to anybody living in or just visiting Liskeard!

A MUG of tea, bliss! A veggie breakfast with nice veggie sausages and a Tadpole breakfast. The best breakfast we've had in a long time. 🙂

We visited on a miserable February afternoon but our cream tea brightened up the day! The scones were delicious and I wished I could have tried a piece of all the lovely looking homemade cakes. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, extensive menu (+ amazing looking cakes - did I mention those?!). If in Liskeard again would definitely return. Thanks!

Top breakfast this morning, I was surprised to find somewhere local that delivers during the daytime ❤ damn expensive though for a bacon/sausage sandwich.

Just popped in for a coffee, but after looking at the menu decided to have lunch as well especially as on Mondays for a limited period they were giving 10% off for pensioners. Excellent friendly service and really enjoyed the meal, will definitely visit again when in Liskeard.

Absolutely loved it the staff were really friendly and helpful the menu is huge . The best thing for me was the fact that you can build your own breakfast. I didn't fancy a full English, so I just ordered what I wanted .

Our first visit to the cafe, the food we ordered was amazing the hash and pancakes were lovely. We also tried the mobile ordering the next week and it was quick and easy will be using it again.

Yes same as other reviews drove to liskeard to the fat frog to find sign on door No Dogs unless a guide dog !. Is there a difference in this type of Dog ?.!. Oh dear fat frog loosing alot of business lets hope theres not another lock down !.

Visited with my friend and a toddler, who suffers with an allergy to dogs. It is really nice and a rarity these days, to be able to find a place to go that is dog free and be able to eat without smelling wet doggy odder. I like dogs but not in a cafe. Had a nicely cooked veggie breakfast and lovely frothy coffee. Haven’t been here for years, will now be coming regularly with my friends.

Great service again and superb food. We pre-ordered lunch for 13 staff today and they delivered it to us as usual everyone loved the food, it was so good. For some staff, it was the first time they had had lunch from the Fat Frog and they were not disappointed, just fabulous. Thank you again. You know we will be back!

Best Cafe I have ever experienced and I’ve been to a few to say the least. Their cloudy lemonade is absolutely delicious and US of A burger was mouthwatering. Will defiantly be visiting Liskeard again just to go here! X

Went in this morning (20th nov) with my friend for breakfast, and even before we sat down the two girls behind the counter were lounging around and were so very rude to us , which led us to leave Will not be going back

Fat Frog very busy on a Friday afternoon. Managed to get the last table available and expected a long wait for food but our order was taken promptly and although we were warned there would be a wait of up to 25 minutes wd were served within 10. Staff friendly and helpful and the food was excellent.

We absolutely love it here and have never had one single complaint ☺️

What a transformation from the new owners...this place used to be a health hazard and now it's an absolute little gem of a place....awesome relaxing atmosphere, very niche, service was amazing....a place you can have a delightful meal or just relax with a coffee or tea , read a newspaper or even a book....I live in Princetown in Devon but would definitely travel down to fat frog just for the sheer ambiance of the place....WELL DINE
