This is a small shop and cafe with a few indoor and outdoor tables. We had to wait a few minutes to get a table. Only a limited amount of the menu was available when we were there but we were still able to find something to order. The food was good quality, reasonably priced with friendly service.

Stopped here on a cycle ride after reading the reviews. Perfect for lunch - delicious chunky granary sandwiches with good choice of fillings. Nice coffee. Also did jacket potatoes, soup etc and good range of local cakes. Only two tables outside which were full, so sat on grass area opposite which has a couple of tables. Would be a little tricky in poor weather as very little indoor seating. Would definitely go again but do agree with some others that the service would be better if it came with a cheery greeting and smile 😃

We visited the village after our trip to Diddly Squat Farm Shop - it's a lovely place to visit and we called in at this little cafe for coffees and teas. The service was great and the drinks were tasty...a brilliant cup of tea in a china teapot and cup! We sat outside in the sun and chatted to a local lady....a lovely hour spent here!

Thé Café de la Post is as quintessential as it gets! Delivering many services to the community, the café serves delicious homemade food and the team is the most welcoming ever! Shop and dine local, genuinely! The hill across the road with tables has the best view when the weather plays along.

Home away from home! There is no better place than the Cafe de la Post! This quintessential little cafe is made very special by the even more special ladies who run it. Tracy, Carolyn and La are the soul of this place and Tracy is the pillar holding it all together. Living in Charlbury, we discovered the Cafe during lockdown. It was where we got our takeaways coffees and sat across the road on the little hill soaking up the view. Since then, it is a must go at the weekend and we SO miss it if we can’t go. The services it provides to the community from newspaper subscriptions to postal deliveries and beyond, make it a vital part of Chadlington. Oh yes, and the food… honest homemade food, priced at a decent price to serve the local community. Delicious homemade cakes, great choice of wines and treats and basic groceries available. It’s a gem!!

Love the bacon they do here. My only gripe is that some of the staff stop serving an hour before the displayed closing time to “clean up” obviously they want to leave dead on the closing time. If that’s the case, just change the opening hours to an hour before. Will definitely return though, just an hour earlier.

I 'found' this cafe/shop by Googling 'dog-friendly cafe near Chipping Norton' - wow what a fab find. They were very dog friendly but also people friendly as well. I was intending to only have a coffee (before collecting my parents from nearby Heythrop Hall) but the bacon baguette looked so appealing I just had to indulge! My little dog sat quietly under the table, ignoring the other 3 or 4 dogs under other tables. Unbeknown to me & subsequently quite irrelevant there is apparently some bloke who used to be on the telly has a farm shop nearby - no interest to me but what a fab find was the little shop/coffee shop. I wish these 2 ladies all the very best for a successful venture and thank them for being so dog-friendly.

I dropped into Cafe de la Poste at 15:01 this afternoon on my bicycle ride. I went in and said to the lady behind the counter: " I appreciate that I am too late for the lunch menu" The staff member immediately responded with: "Yes you are! " I was about to try to say: "might it be possible to have something...." when she said: " I've got a lot of drinks to serve and so I'm not doing anything else " This was said in a loud, forceful way in front of another customer. I thanked the staff member for her help and left. This is the second time I have been treated like this at Cafe de la Poste so I won't return.

I dropped into Cafe de la Poste at 15:01 this afternoon 09 August 2021 on my bicycle ride. " I was about to try to say: "might it be possible to have something...." when she said: " I've got a lot of drinks to serve and so I'm not doing anything else “ I wasn’t offered a drink (cold or hot), a piece of cake, a biscuit – nothing – basically I was dismissed. She obviously didn’t want me in the Café. This was said in a loud, forceful way in front of another customer which embarrassed me. I thanked the staff member for her help and left. In normal times, this a quaint and attractive place to visit, but in COVID times, it has been a beacon as a refreshment stop during cycle rides in the Cotswolds. Their COVID precautions are excellent, and once you have bought your takeaway drink and snack, the village green is right opposite, with benches and picnic tables.
