A lovely venue, friendly staff, good choice of drinks, and live music. It is on the small side, but they use the space well.

My friends and I have started to drink at this establishment once, or twice a month for our social meet ups, particularly for the live music nights, and the staff are absolutely fantastic. The team are so lovely; the drinks are great and of significant variety, they appear to change around a fair bit, so you're never going to get bored either side of the bar!

Great choice of drinks. Great guy singing outside, but what you've done upstairs is unbelievable. It was like a youth club. Me and my partner felt uncomfortable. The age of the people in there does not fit how it used to be. We won't be going back.

met a couple of friends here last weekend to be confronted and refused service by what i believe to be the manager . used to come here before lockdown and was never spoken to that rudely before . looks like their priorities have changed on clientele, a large amount of under age looking kids outside drinking . so i will not be returning here again ... such a shame

While I had heard mixed reviews myself and some friends decided to book in, upon arriving we were welcome and seated by a friendly young girl. Drinks arrived promptly and my partner even stopped by during the night with our dog, at this point a bowl of water and some dog treats where offered and gratefully accepted. By the end of the night we were laughing and joking with a member of staff about the joys of parenthood, playing a game with tiki drinks? And reluctant to go home. Will be returning again. Keep up the good work girls!

Had heard great things about this place and looked forward to attending now that restrictions have lifted. At first glance it looked great when we arrived with the small interior supplemented by canopies and heaters over outside seating area. We were given a table inside and within 10 seconds of sitting down asked what we’d like to order. The young lad who was doing the table service I’m going to presume was new and therefore maybe overly enthusiastic so I can forgive that. Having never been before and having no idea what was available we asked for a menu. This seemed to be an utterly bizarre request for the young man as he had to go and ask one of the three other people working about it. Unfortunately he returned empty handed. One of the reasons for coming to the Siege was to have some cocktails so no menu makes things quite difficult. On broaching this subject the ordering iPad was thrust on to the table and we read the cocktail list off there. The 10 seconds we had to read it meant we couldn’t really digest the names, and seeing as no ingredients were mentioned it was decided to just pick one that we could reasonably guess the contents. In fairness the drinks were perfectly fine and the guy doing the service was completely pleasant enough. When three of the staff decided to move a gas canister in front of the door to prop a door open so they could all have a cigarette we decided to try our luck elsewhere. I think this place could be really fantastic and judging by reviews has been in the past but some proper training and a focus on the basics of service would probably assist in this. PS as we left we noticed a discarded menu on one of the tables

Managed to secure a table for a drink as they were booked from 7.30 which is fair enough and we hadnt booked a table!. Weather was awful so great to have the heaters outside. Bar staff took out order/table service. The staff were fantastic and the service was great. Will be going back. Lovely little pub.

I went here for drinks when it was outside only. To see inside there were multiple customers round the bar no masks. Messing around doing shots with the staff.

Can't fault the staff enough. Staff are new but are learning the ropes which in understandable. but they're happy to help. Drinks fairly priced for local demographic. Added outdoor heading which has made it more comfortable given current covid regs. Advisable to book a table in advance given the popularity of the pub.

The barmaid was rude to myself,friends and other customers the drinks were way overpriced, along with poring me the wrong drink then commenting "well you have got that now. .. Social distancing laws not being inforced at all. there is not a restaurant here anymore . Many friends and I will not be returning after being treated like this manner, in what used to be such a good place

Went here last night to see 4 tables of people sat there with scotch eggs not intending on eating them at all . Just out on the lash . Well done to the siege management and owners for encouraging this .... I hope you get your licence revoked

Went in on the 4th to no social distancing at all ..rude staff.. and what looked to be the manager swearing at a customer. This is not what I was told about at all . I was promised a quirky venue with knowledgeable staff but was faced with rudeness and poor knowledge. I for one won't be spending my hard earned cash in here again

I used to think that was such a nice cozy little establishment where locals were welcomed. The whole family vibe has totally rubbed off,it seems the whole concept of being a small independent run alehouse has gone out the window totally , and now looking like a pub that is desperately trying to claw back customers. It is such a shame this has happened .I for one will not be going back to this establishment and will be drinking over the road where there is an amazing vibe friendly staff , not wall to to wall full of balls and member of staff prowling for her next bit of cock.

Great Staff! Great Beer! Great Space! The image I saw on another review concerned me but when I went there was seating outdoors with gazebos and door staff managing everyone.

Stopped off at the Siege for a couple of pints and the place did not disappoint. Excellent social distancing measures in place,door staff gave very clear instructions. Bar staff were very friendly and constantly wipping down surfaces and washing their hands. Great night! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We aren't from around here and visited Witney as a spontaneous break. We decided to take the bus on a Friday evening for an explore ( don't forget your mask). We got off the bus in Carterton. It's a pleasant little town but at first glance, there was not much going on. We only stumbled across one restaurant and a couple of 'normal pubs'. When we were wandering we saw a bright alley with some interesting graffiti on the wall so we popped down there to take a look! Down there we realised there was a quirky little bar called The Siege of Orleans. I was dubious because it says Alehouse on the windows and I don't really drink beer, however my fiance is a big ale fan so he felt like we'd struck gold. On entering, the area inside was pretty busy with people sat at tables (although all spaced out with screens at the bar) but the weather outside was pleasant enough and they had lots of seating out there so we decided we'd sit outside. This is our first trip away so we are still pretty cautious. I shouldn't have worried about the ale situation because they had so many other drinks. I spoke to a lovely girl called Emlee and she said that they had a gin bar upstairs with over 80 gins. Unfortunately for me it was closed due to Covid but I am already telling my fiance I want to go back to experience it! It must be a popular place as it got busier as it got later. Door staff came on at what must be a peak time and reminded people to social distance. You could tell the staff were doing their best to enforce the guidelines and we felt perfectly safe sat at a little table out the way. We really enjoyed ourselves!

The new staff are horrible and care only about cramming as many people in to get profit! Speak to customers like animals! Beer is warm and the Corona on tap is serviced at room temperature! Not what it used to be! Been ruined by immature kids running the place

If you fancy something different pop into this little gem for a pint. Guest ales/Lagers alternate every week. Spirits are top quality with the bartenders even suggesting which mixer best compliments. Small but very accommodating. Lovely for a Saturday afternoon drink. Friendly atmosphere, kids and dogs welcome. They also have 2 x old school games consoles with all the classics on. Good for the kids or if you fancy a punch up on Street Fighter with your mate. Definitely worth a visit 👌

Used to be a really good craft beer place and you wouldn't mind paying £5-£7 for a nice pint, now you pay the same price for budget beer like Corona or Camden :(

I love this bar. It has fabulous management and staff, serves a variety of fabulous ales, lagers, gins and many more spirits that are not the run of the mill. It has fabulous clientele and upstairs is a fabulous chef serving fabulous food. Simply fabulous! Can't recommend it enough to anone who hasn't been.

Only been in once so won't give 5 stars from one visit. Small place, great staff, beers there not my thing. Instead of Czech largers that taste foul I personally would prefer different uk ales. However that's not what this place is about so no need to Mark it down. I hear they have great music nights and the place is always full when I pass by.

We popped in on a whim and I’m glad we did. Food was excellent, we had the chefs choice and it was excellent. Highly recommended!

Popped into the seige of orleans . Was served very politely I asked for a pint of porter or dark beer . I was served a warm dead pint of dark liquid that was flat as a pancake. I asked the Barmaid to change it this sparked a polite discussion with a few regulars. Fair enough I was poured a half as well that was the same . We went in again &amp; was charged £21.50 for two pints a double G&amp;t and Diet Coke . No wonder pubs are struggling

Great alternative drinks including a cherry rum which was delicious. They also have a number of board games that you can play and some old video games setup which is great fun!

Fantastic place for a drink, great atmosphere but can get busy. They Stock all different beers and spirits compared to your normal bar, this makes for a alternate expirance. Not cheap but average for the area. Staff are great and will always help with a drink suggestion if asked.

A quirky venue serving an ever changing range of craft ales. There is also a quality lager if you are that way inclined. A good range of unusual spirits. Food available cooked by a crearive chef. Staff very friendly and have a good knowledge of the drinks range.

This is by far the most enjoyable and cosy pub in Carterton. Can get proper busy, because it’s so awesome. Best beers and ciders in the area, you get what you pay for.

Shame it is not bigger but very quirky and suppose size works and reflects the different drinks up for grabs.Aways love to find out if they have any mew ciders to try as I am personally a cider drinker over an ale drinker. Do enjoy a drink here just not the easier to get to the bar to get a drink but that’s what happens when it’s good and busy !!

We are moving and feel like this is the best time to give feedback! What an amazing place. The drinks are varied and non-commercial! Please don’t let this put you off. Trade the fosters for a better lager. We have tried everything and anything they offer.

Great atmosphere and the place really listens to its customers. Good range of beers and Lagers (wine choices more limited). Food is freshly cooked and delicious! Whatever I have ordered has been amazingly good, well presented and well priced.

If you want a pub in Cartrerton this is a no Brainer. Its good, and not just because its competition is so bad!

A true gem of Carterton city, Stopped here for a drink and it absolutely was a setting that sounded like it absolutely was 1,000,000 miles off from Carterton. Super friendly, sensible service and sensible choice of ales and alternative drinks. low cost costs. Our new native. Even the opposite customers area unit friendly.

Cracking place to go for a quiet drink or with friends, amazingly friendly people and staff. Lovely selection of spirits and craft ales aswell as ciders. Random set of consoles aswell but fits perfectly in the atmosphere of this place and the occasional live band, game of poker, beer pong and the option of cards against humanity for you and your mates to play any day of the week

We were visiting family in Carterton, had a day in Witney which is lovely and called back at the siege of Orleans before having a BBQ. Lovely pint, nice homemade furniture outside in the walkway...been before will go again, made one or two improvements since last time, prices reasonable.

I love this place! It’s tiny and gets busy. The staff are chilled and polite. I really like how they always swap stock and change things up. There’s loads of games available just need to ask the staff. Most drinks are about £5 (singles). Great little place and really recommend it

Easily the best pub in Carterton though it is a little expensive. The beers are not your everyday tipple so it does challenge the taste buds. Staff are great, friendly and courteous.

Nice place,gets very crowded and can be hard to find a seat or place to stand. Service can also be a bit hot and miss depending on how busy they are. Nice range of boutique spirits.

Stopped here for a drink and it was a setting that looked like it was a million miles away from Carterton. Lovely decor. I had a Lemon Gin & Lemon Tonic, it was lovely. Didn't oreder food but looked over the menu. Pizza was on the menu with cpvarious toppings, I didn't notice any other food available.
