So my wife found and booked us lunch at Cafe Cecilia to mark my birthday. It also marked my getting great news that morning on the massive reduction of my prostate cancer! Guinness Bread with Sage and Anchovy Fritti bagan our lunch beautifully, the Onglet was delicious as was the scallop, and the Guinness Bread Ice Cream alone would have us going back! Thanks Max, for a great lunch.

Both the food and the service were a bit off. We had the Guinness bread and fritters to start, mackerel and onglet, and bread and butter pudding. It was all fine - but given the hype of this place I was expecting a lot more.

Highly recommend this restaurant. Delicious food eg soda bread, squash starter and chocolate pudding, and a good range of wines. Well worth the money.

Very basic decor and small menu, but friendly, attentive staff and excellent food. Very pricey wine list. Overall, good but expensive for what it is.

I dined in Café Cecilia for a birthday with my extended family! It was perfect. Darren was a STAR helping me with planning the menu and evening. The food was absolutely incredible and all the staff were so warm and kind. I could not recommend this place anymore. It is so chic and such a lovely experience!! Do it :)

We had a really, really disappointing lunch. My wife and I had been excited about going for ages, so made a special effort on my birthday. I wish we hadn’t now. I ordered the pork. The waiter said “it might come a bit pink”; I said “fine, as the chef thinks best.” And when it actually came it was completely and utterly cooked to a crisp. It tasted like old school roast dinners. Dry and tough. My wife ordered the lobster, despite it being priced at £45. It was tiny, which I guess we might have expected, but also totally and utterly over-cooked. Dry and tasteless, which we really didn’t expect. The waiter knew we were disappointed but just kind of shrugged and wished us on our way. A waste of our hard earned money.

Clean, spacious, airy and a welcome respite from the hordes of tourists just outside. Basic, but in context a real treasure given the location.

I went to a fabulous supper club here, beautifully set table, delicious small plates of food and lovely service. The dishes were really creative, master chef standard, I must call out the pumpkin with

Overall it was a very good experience. I want to score it 3.5 just because there are so many tweaks it needs to be perfect. The arrival was okay - there is no clear parking area, very dim lights and i
