Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Had the best steak ever here! Will definitely be returning! Manager very polite and friendly. Smaller than I thought but was beautiful.

My parents love this restaurant especially for the steaks. They have been unable to get out to enjoy a nice meal since my dad became ill. The restaurant manager was able to do a special dinner to celebrate my dad’s 93rd birthday if I was able to collect. They thoroughly enjoyed the food and wish to express their gratitude.

We've come to rely on Buenos Aires over the years for great steak and tasty wine. Unfortunately, the steak was not up to scratch on the last visit. When my companion expressed her disappointment, she was spoken to as though she had never eaten sirloin before. Slightly strange. Wine and other items delicious, as ever, especially the sweetbreads. Outrageous £200+ bill for 3 people, including a terrifying 12.5% service charge thrown on top. That's unfair on customers. Eye-watering price, disappointing steak.

I have often go to steakhouses and I love a good fillet. Coming to Buenos Aires cafe I had the fillet with creamy mash potato followed by the cheesecake and it was divine! The server Vasile was so attentive and a dream when questioned on the menu. Thanks for making my first trip to Blackheath memorable I will be 100% be coming back!

First time since before lockdown. Just as good as we remembered. The steaks were superb, the lamb sweetbreads were delicious and the crepes were excellent. A very reasonably priced wine list. All told a really excellent meal. We will definitely be back!

Bit somber, not a great team of staff, the lady who appears to either be the owner is very unhelpful and very rude, dosen't let you order what you want, constantly repeats herself. Not a great experience, ruined the meal.

Steak as requested for my child's birthday lunch, asked for medium ribeye and filet, came out well done however, we were hungry so didn't debate over it. Chips were not homemade, they're frozen. We decided against desserts judging by the quality of food, and shocking prices of desserts. We visited close to lunch break closing time and waitresses disappeared, had to go hunting for someone to settle our bill, could have walked out but we are honest people. Any other customer wouldn't have been so polite about the overall service and dry steak. The toilets needs a good clean too.

We dined here Saturday lunchtime and from start to finish it was brilliant! The food here is second to none. Home made, flavoursome and delicious. My burger and chips were fantastic and husband's spatchcock chicken and mash was superb. We like to dine here once a month and everytime we do they exceed expectations.

I promised my son a steak dinner for our weekend in London. The waitress said they were fully booked. Oh no, I didn't want to go for pizza, I wanted steak. I asked if we could sit outside and the waitress turned on the heaters, wiped the raindrops off the table and chairs and gave us blankets. We would have happily sat outside but a group inside left early which meant we could sit inside. Thank you! We had 75 mins to eat a three course meal. Our steaks were yummy (maybe a little too bloody for my son) and we finished our cheesecake a minute before the next group arrived for the table. Thank you for fitting us in.

Friend booked this restaurant for her birthday and it was our first and last visit. We found the restaurant itself to be small and the noise level was rather high. It took a while for a waitress to come for our drinks order, but was brought over pretty quickly. My two friends ordered steaks, one pizza and one escalope. We shared a starter of olives and bread. I asked he waitress if oil and balsamic accompanied it but she said it was already on the table - I guess they want you to pour it over the bread! The mains arrived and the steaks came on a plate with half a cherry tomato. That was it! Luckily my friend ordered a side. The pizza was okay, although quite bland. The escalope was like a giant chicken nugget, no accompanying sauce so very dry. Again no sides. We decided against desserts judging by the food we’d just had. The icing on the cake was then being charged an extra £20 on our card payment! Avoid!

Another fantastic meal! We love this place and so do our kids. The steaks are fantastic and the pasta and pizza on the kids’ menu is also great. Friendly and helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere. We’ll be back soon.

Good ambiance, good food from albeit a slightly dated menu and friendly service make this a good option for dinner

Primera vez comiendo aquí. Gran lugar. Tenía las empanadas de jamón y queso seguidas por el pollo orgánico salpicado. El mejor pollo que he probado en mi vida. Cocinado a la perfección. Otros en mi grupo tenían filetes y dijeron que estaban perfectamente cocinados. El personal también fue genial. Sin duda volveremos a visitar pronto.

Went here for a meal with family and loved it. The steak is fantastic (we all had fillet and it was incredible), empanadas as a starter is a great choice, the wine (we had Malbec) was perfect. The service was also great - the waitress was attentive but not OTT. The only reason this isn’t 5* is that the upstairs has a lot more atmosphere than the basement and we were seated downstairs. There are 4/5 tables downstairs and then the wine store. It’s fine but doesn’t feel quite as special as upstairs. There isn’t the same atmosphere and it’s just not quite as nice as the upstairs. Easy to fix and definitely not a reason to avoid it. But worth asking for an upstairs table!

My husband and I have Eaton here for many years but the last few time’s haven’t been great , we decided to give it one last chance and ..... nope even worse than ever we will not be returning we don’t mind paying good money for good food this is expensive for soooo bad food and service so sad

Decided to drop in as passing by and luckily there was a table available. Seems popular and should really book ahead if hoping to eat here. We all tried the lunch menu, two burgers and a steak sarnie - tasted fine but I've had better seasoned meat (minor issue). All were pretty good meals, chips were nice, desserts were excellent sized portions and delicious. Service was good and the price seemed very reasonable. The house red is pretty decent too. Nice little restaurant, would return.

We've been coming here for about a decade and always saw it as a special high end Argentine-British restaurant, expensive but worth every penny. However this time around we were greeted by the waiter who reiterated, just as when I booked the table on the phone, that the duration of the table was to be for 1,5 hours. During the evening another waiter managed to greet us and remind us again of the time constraint. While taking the order they also seemed rushed and not too impressed when we asked for a few more minutes to make up our mind over the menu choices. The aubergines were under cooked and had a bad colour, appearance and texture (we returned these); the presentation of the sweetbreads was poor, they were scattered on a tiny plate looking quite scarce, and they were gummy in texture; the meat on the brocheta was cooked rare rather than the medium rare we ordered and was quite chewy; some of the leaves from the salad were wilted. The morcilla and the provoleta were thankfully nice and saved the evening, however we left with a disillusioned feeling and I don't think we'll be coming back unless we read some better reviews. It's not a cheap restaurant and we expect to eat better for this money.

I had to ask for it but I’m very glad I opted for the set lunch, £14.95 for two courses and £17.95 for three. For some reason I didn’t fancy the soupe du jour or the empanada choosing instead chorizo to start. And what a start: a substantial earthy beef sausage spiced up by a mustardy sauce tempered with a sprig of salad. Rump steak (about 200g) was medium rare as requested with crispy fries. Pancake with dolce de latte made for a splendid conclusion. With a glass of Malbec and a double espresso and including service almost exactly £30. Excellent value for money; friendly and efficient service; comfortably rustic and atmospheric surroundings.

I have been coming here for years. It used to be a high end steak restaurant which was expensive but fab. Now half the menu is pizza and “assorted other”. This may broaden their appeal, but makes it less a specialist place. This seems to have affected the food. The mixed steak platter for two was good, but it wasn’t amazing like it was 2 years ago. The fries are disappointing, the corn is great, the mushrooms pretty good. All in all it’s good, but not “run around with your pants on your head brilliant” like it used to be.

The food is lovely the staff are efficient and pleasant but the fact is if you order a steak that is all you get . A lump of meat on your plate with nothing else .Prices are a con because you then have add on the price of chips and veg and your £16 steak becomes £24.A total ripoff it should not be allowed.Would not use this place again if I was paying.

He revisado el café Buenos Aires antes, pero tuve que volver a escribir sobre nuestra experiencia anoche. Reservamos una mesa en el piso de arriba y me llamaron por la mañana para decirme que podríamos pedir la mesa si hubiéramos terminado en 1 hora y 45 minutos en lugar de las dos horas que normalmente tiene. Estaba ansioso por sentarme arriba, así que acepté eso. Como de costumbre, toda la comida era deliciosa. Filetes todos perfectamente cocinados y delicioso vino. A mi hija también le encanta el pastel de chocolate y las empanadas aquí. Sin embargo, nuestra experiencia fue mucho mejor por el encantador servidor que tuvimos. Ella realmente se tomó el tiempo para hablarnos y responder cualquier pregunta que teníamos sobre el menú. También pudo ver que nuestra hija estaba luchando un poco con su asma esa noche y también se tomó el tiempo para ofrecer consejos, lo cual fue realmente agradable. A pesar de que teníamos menos tiempo de lo habitual, nunca nos sentimos presionados. Una gran experiencia gastronómica y un servicio fantástico.

I booked a table there for the same day, on a Saturday night, and had a great place - I took my partner and his grandparents. The server was very friendly, atmosphere was nice and cosy and food was absolutely delicious. Both the baked potatos and fries were well cooked and we had the mixed barbecue platter which was so tasty and tender. One of the best pieces of meat I've ever had, true Argentinian style. The beef empanada was also to die for. The staff was great with us too - service was quick and good. Nothing to complain about! The only thing to note is that the restaurant is not the cheapest - but you really get what you pay for, supreme quality.

I will start by saying that we were initially disappointed as we arrived to hear that our booking was not on the system. As frustrating as this was, the staff did rearrange tables to fit us in, and did their best to make us as comfortable as possible, before moving us to a better table as it later became available. This is the only reason why the place isn't five-star though!

We have been to this place before. We booked a table for four people specifically asking for a table upstairs in the window at the front. We booked our table on 5 June 2019. We booked for 8pm on 22 July 2019. We arrived bang on time only to be told that in fact our booking was for 8:30. We knew that was wrong but the staff were very insistent.So although we were not happy we agreed to come back in half an hour felt the half an How wrong we were. We went away and came back at 8:30. We were told that our table had been given to somebody else with the same name. We then asked to see the details of these people and see whether they had booked. We were shown a fabricated entry on an iPad. We were shown a clipboard that simply had the name James but no telephone number. We told Sebastian who was supposed to be dealing with this that he had made a mistake and that he should find us a table. He then became very rude and quite aggressive. We found his attitude very poor. He insisted that we go and sit down stairs where there are no Windows. We told them we did not want to do that. He insisted that was all he had and he wasn't prepared to do anything more for us even though he made a serious and grave error. The other chap who works with Sebastian whose name we do not know but he has a beard and wears a black t shirt with the Argentina flag on simply smirked and thought it was all funny. This is a disgraceful way to carry on a business especially a restaurant. We will not be going back to Buenos Aires again. We think that their staff are rude discourteous and uncaring. If anybody asks us to recommend a restaurant in Blackheath we will tell them not to bother with Buenos Aires because the staff there tell you lies in an effort to cover up their mistakes.

Hemos comido aquí muchas veces y ha sido un lugar largo en nuestro corazón y de aquellos que ya no están aquí. La comida sigue siendo muy buena con excelentes carnes que se derriten en la boca. Desafortunadamente el servicio está muy lejos de ser bueno. Los artículos que pedimos fueron olvidados por los camareros y la cocina. Las actitudes simplemente no fueron útiles. Es una lástima que el interior, un poco gastado, se copie en la experiencia del cliente. La comida sola no siempre es suficiente. Por favor brinde a los miembros más jóvenes del personal ayuda y orientación para mejorar.

We took friends here for dinner who are great Gaucho fans and at the end of the night they were all suitably impressed and agreed that the steak was on a par or above Gaucho and thought there was a much better selection of sides. Nice selection of wines of which we had a few nice ones at a reasonable price. Service could be a bit slicker (as we were downstairs) but the girl serving made up for any small mistakes with her cheerfulness and eagerness to please. We have been several times before and we will be returning with friends again in the future and would recommend.

The ribeye steak was to do die for. A 200 gram piece was very adequate and was cooked perfectly to instructions.

Went there for lunch this bank holiday weekend with my boyfriend, we had an amazing experience, good service, delicious food and good wine. We had empanadas as start and sirloin steaks as mean. For dessert a chocolate fudge cake. I highly recommend.

I enjoyed a quiet lunch here with an old friend. We both had pizzas so large that we had to ask for doggie bags to take half away with us. They were very accommodating when I asked to trade Parma ham for artichokes and the resulting pizza was delicious as was the coconut ice cream to follow. A very civilized place with great and friendly staff. Definitely one to remember.

No es una noche barata, así que pensará con mucho cuidado si volver.

We have dined here many times, both at the Blackheath and Greenwich sites. The food is absolutely delicious and consistently of the highest quality. They serve the best bife de ancho with chimichuri sauce, the whole menu is delicious!

Really recommend this if you like beef... really high quality steak sandwiches for about £15 all the way up to steak platters for £60 (four different steaks to share). Great range of wine by the glass at £5-10 so not too bad for London. Always friendly staff, high quality meat. Probably the only downside is if you are vegan or vegetarian you might struggle... otherwise you'll walk away happy. Actually hesitated to recommend this as it's so good sort of wanted to keep it for myself rather than end up in the future queuing or needing a reservation every time!

Steak was very tasty indeed. Service was excellent and food could not be faulted. Will definitely be back.

We had a table in the basement, might not be to everyone's liking down there, but it was ok. Needed guidance from the couple with us about some of the things on the menu, so you might need to ask on your first visit. Food was ok, but I might choose differently if I went again, just personal choice though.

We came, we felt unwelcome and uncomfortable, we left. Greeted by somebody who frowned as if we were a nuisance, took us downstairs and stuck us under a table with a heater blasting on our heads. We went back upstairs to ask to move or get it switched off and got more frowns from the serving staff as if we were totally unreasonable. I fully agree with the other reviews that pointed out the odd service here. The owner / manager should consider people don’t like to feel they are unwelcome.

When we arrive staff could not find our telephone reservation and when it was found was for two people not three. Table found for us ok (had to move another couple). Good quality food. Three very large steaks perfectly cooked except one of them had a fair amount of gristle (happened to the person who refuses to eat fat on anything). Fair prices, did not order wine as we usually do as going on to somewhere else. Had to ask for water three times before it arrived. The restaurant is small and a bit cramped, downstairs space never seems to be used. My only complain is the bathroom, ladies toilet is a tiny cupboard and in very poor condition (tiles missing off wall, exposed pipework). Gives the impression that it not very clean because it is so badly in need of repair.

We had a super lunch with great service .The portions were huge & all our food was piping hot & tasted delicious.Drinks & wine were reasonably priced & the child portions were a good size.Only thing that stopped me giving it 5* were the dingy toilets.

Had a nice meal and would particularly recommend the fresh pasta. However, the service was a bit abrupt. We were seated outside because the free tables inside were reserved, but no one came for them. We were quite chilly and so asked to move in when our food arrived and we were moved without a word of response. I’m sure they were just busy and people hadn’t shown for their reservations, but it felt like we’d inconvenienced the staff. I think the way to ensure you have a really enjoyable experience is to book ahead! It’s worth it because the food is really enjoyable.

We called in here as there was no one in the restaurant at all, completely empty and it was pouring rain. My son and husband fancied a mixed grill. The female who greeted us started to check through the bookings as we asked for a table for three. Hello. It didnt say on the door private party. After a very long minute of her looking she showed us to a small table. I presumed it had a large booking in shortly or a coach party was due. As today anyone can write a review, the importance of a good customer experience is very high. I like enjoying a nice meal in a nice restaurant with good atmosphere. I also like friendly service, which I do not feel I have received in this restaurant. I did not experience attentiveness or kindness. Despite the food being nice I came away with a bad feeling and a decision of never going back.

Fantastic Friday evening dinner with our two children. The food was amazing and the service was brilliant, I was particularly pleased that they managed to accommodate our request for an upstairs table. The atmosphere was brilliant and it was a great way to start the weekend!

I love this restaurant. Among all little restaurants which are mainly chains in blackheath, this remains the most authentic and good. Staff is friendly and prices are on average. I like their grilled cheese

Das Ambiente ist sehr urig und stimmig, das Essen gut bis mässig. Man sollte besser Steak anstelle von Pasta essen. Allerdings ist der Preis für die Qualität und Quantität nicht angemessen.

We ordered a late lunch, my wife had ribs. Waiter decided that the portion wasn't very big, so brought an additional portion without us needing to ask. It was a nice touch, which I hadn't experienced before. I guess that's what they mean by delighting the customer. Other food was well prepared and reasonably priced. Will return.
