This restaurant is lovely, food was delicious. And great gluten free options. Great service. Perfect spot for brunch in south east London. Staff were kind + accommodating!

My friend suggested this place and the food was yum! The vegan halloumi tasted really good! Must admit I was busting by the time I left! I had the plantain lasagne, the plantain savoury waffles, red velvet cake and rum and raisin ice-cream (plus had a taste of my friend's mac 'n' cheese! Oh! and the cassava fries! My first time there, food freshly cooked, chilled atmosphere.... I'd recommend any day! AND they do events there - can't knock it! This could be a great Saturday evening, Sunday morning/afternoon hangout for me! Carol 😄✔

Great food, excellent customer service and reasonably priced. I was recommended by a friend and the Guava Kitchen didn't disappoint. Our parry consisted of 4 people and we all had different dishes which I sampled. My favourite was the plantain balls but equally the rest of the starters were divine. I had the platter for my main course and again that was delicious. I also tried their burger which again was nice. Can't really fault this place to be honest. The chef came and spoke to us after and that was a nice touch. I will defiently be back. Thanks Guava Kitchen. Keep up the good work.

We found this gem on line. Really good menu choice. The burgers we had were the best bean burgers that we have had to date and I prefer bean burgers to fake meat and so much better than meat ever was. I can’t recommend it enough. Juicy and tasty. Great food and service and lovely atmosphere

I had an excellent, tasty lunch at The Guava Kitchen today. I strongly recommend, but if you have a disability, as I have, getting downstairs to the toilet isn't easy. The food makes it worth it though.

A great concept for a vegan restaurant with a Carribean twist but a shame the concept was lost. What you're left with it an over-priced, small portion servings of some rather curious substute dishes. Unfortunately the mains weren't served together which is always annoying and defeats the purpose of having a meal together. The plantin ball starters with guava dip was served hot but tasted like a dessert perhaps due to over ripened plantin which tasted like bananaand def not worth £1 per ball. My partner was very excited with the voxtail butter beans stew served with quinoa and a side salad. Unfortunately the oxtail substitute tasted and the texture was very hard and chewy making it inedible. I on the other hand ordered a lighter salad with 3x fillings of my choice. The dish was served late due to the pea fritters which were def not worth the wait and there was only x3, one of which was horribly chewy perhaps as the oil wasn't at the right temperature when fried. The beetroot and plantin topping was underwhelming and overall the salad was meh. We both really had high hopes for this restaurant and even thought we would be easily pleased as we were both rather hungry but that didn't seem to have helped! Ending on a positive, the restaurant was clean with modern decor and friendly staff. I wish you all the success in the future but your menu and price point do need amending.

Second time I’m here and this time I brought my mum with me. She was as amazed as me. The food is absolutely amazing! Only had a “create your own sandwich” this time but it was the best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Fresh, filling, cheap, healthy and soooo tasty lunch. I had avocado, halloumi and sweet potato and beetroot salad. Sooo lucky to have this restaurant in Forest Hill!

Decided to take my vegan friend for a birthday treat. Order their plantain balls, wings and Macaroni for starters. The plantain balls were over cooked, Macaroni taste like sage and onion stuffing and the wings were inedible- they had a spongy texture with a floury taste. For my mains I had the coconut Rundown curry with rice and peas- the authentic taste of the coconut milk, thyme and scotch bonnet were sadly missing. The rice was soft looked anaemic lacked flavour and the rich red colour from the peas that I associate with rice and peas. My friend had the voxtail with the same flavourless rice and peas. The voxtail resembled oxtail but it was made from the same crap they used to create the chicken wings. Again this was lacking in flavour. On a positive side the strawberry, pineapple and ginger juice was lovely. The waitress lacked customer service, she brought out our mains before clearing our starter plates. After our mains she came to ask if we wanted the bill, still didn't clear the plates. Came back with the card reader, took payment and still did not clear the table. We sat for a further 15-20mins and she still didn't clear the table. I was embarrassed because this was suppose to be a nice treat for the birthday boy. It would seem they are more popular for cakes, coffee and shakes. I wouldn't recommend nor visit again.

First time visiting this cafe/restaurant as I'm new to the area. So so pleasantly surprised. The loveliest people, such a clean, welcoming space. I asked if I could use my laptop as I'm WFH and this wasn't an issue at all (multiple sockets dotted around the cafe too)! I had the coconut red pea soup and it was so gorgeous. Please if your in the area and after some decently priced, tasty and wholsome food, do come in.

I really want to give this place 5 stars! Local, innovative vegan food, compostable delivery containers. But sadly the food was just mediocre save for the coconut quinoa which was better than the rest. I ordered the creamy coconut red pea soup, the guava plaintain balls and the quinoa. The first two are just... fine. Nothing particularly flavourful despite the lovely ingredients. The quinoa is generously apportioned and coconut-y but that's about it.

The most tastiest imaginative breakfast I’ve ever eaten! It was vegan and did not try to copy a traditional English brekkie. Loved it and the beautiful decor and nice people who run it.

We went for lunch here after an exhibition at the Horniman Museum, and were pleasantly surprised. We're not vegans but the food was so delicious and satisfying, it would be easy if you could eat like this! We had the three mains: mac n cheese, red bean soup and plaintain balls, and also the Trini chickpea bake. Absolutely delicious and good value.

The picture tells part of the story. The cakes looked ok on the cake stands. Pistachio rose and carrot. I felt a bit guilty asking for the carrot as it had not been cut ( but I needn't have worried). I asked for a box...
