Cafe Bella Maria in City of London, Westminster

The English Rose cafe is a welcoming refuge from the hustle of Victoria. Unpretentious and especially welcoming on the day my friend and I went for lunch. Yoan, who greeted us, found a table for us despite it being busy. We have been coming here on and off for many years and it still retains its charm by offering a simple and well presented menu. The choice over which scones to have was beautifully handled by Yoan who was very patient with our ever changing requests. We tried all 3 different flavours in the end and each was distinctive and delicious. We were able to stay and enjoy a good catch up without any pressure to finish up. Our first choice when we are in the area.

We had breakfast here on 3 successive occasions whilst staying nearby and it was a great experience - excellent menu choice, beautifully presented and friendly staff.

Un peu plus de 30 minutes d'attente pour prendre un thé et scones. Ambiance et décors sympa. Service n'est pas pressé, mais les scones sont très bons. Petite tables (a déconseiller si vous êtes plus de 4) et WC en panne.

This is a cute cafe with lots of teapots on display, making it quite quaint and English. It’s not far from Buckingham Palace so would be a good place for high tea afterwards I think. It’s quite casual with a relaxed atmosphere so no pretentious feeling for tourists in their site-seeing clothing. Coffee was very good, staff were great, prices reasonable. Seems pretty popular there was a bit of a queue, recommend for a coffee stop.

The atmosphere in this cafe is amazing, with good music, lighting, and decor. The food was just as good! Service was amazing!

Amazing scones and cream. Cute little shop you have to wait outside before you are seated. We found some small plates that were discounted for 1£ each - packed in sets of 4 that were just lovely. Friendly staff is another plus .

What a gem!! We had breakfast which was delicious and reasonably priced. Food was delicious and space was charming. Staff are friendly and service is quick. We will return tomorrow.

There was a strange tasting tomato and pesto sandwich in their selection and NO cucumber sandwiches, very disappointing. Scones could be fluffier and the strawberry jam a little less sweet. From 1 to 10 it's a 6.5 - 7 at best.

This is a traditional cafe serving cakes, teas and coffees etc. The decor is definitely 'vintage' style and quaint as a result. Overall we were impressed, however my friend's slice of cake was a little dry.

Really great fry-up in this no-frills cafe/tea rooms. It’s just opposite Buck Palace, so lots of tourists, but it’s a proper English breakfast. Service was slightly slow; we waited 10 mins for our order to be taken, but overall v good.

This cafe has the absolute BEST scones I have ever had. The service was excellent, the tea service lovely, the surroundings quaint and lovely. Stop here for afternoon tea if you are in London. Definitely worth it!

Ik vond het eten erg lekker, vooral de scones. Het was wel erg druk en we moesten eerst buiten 20 minuten wachten tot we naar binnen konden.

You can engage wonderful ^experiment^, (sorry but only in case that you are assian) serving store-bought clotted cream with plastic package VS hand-made clotted cream ! We asked why our table was served with only different cream, they said they are doing some experiment. Visiting Buckingham Palace, perfectly placed, Surprisingly not too busy. Great friendly welcome, seat nr window, small brunch menu but some excellent choices. 1 Greek yoghurt with banana and a smashed avocado brunch later ...wow lovely food ,freshly prepared and full of flavour. Absolutely precious little floral interior with the best English breakfast I had on my trip. My whole family was completely silent during the meal because we were all so enamored with our breakfasts. We came for a small family day out and ordered the afternoon tea, which was £22 per person. We found the portion sizes very small and also the sandwiches basic for the price. We had to share a small 20g vacuum pack of jam and 1 tiny pot of cream between 2 scones (although the scones were large). Although it was a lovely, quaint place, I felt it was overpriced for what we got. Wouldn’t come again.

Avocat chaud écrasé non assaisonné sur un pain sans goût et avec un bacon cramoisi. Nous l’avons signalé à la serveuse qui, sans être le moins du monde embêtée, a proposé d’en parler en cuisine.
