Cafe Barcelona in Lambeth

When visiting family on Streatham Common, a breakfast at Barcelona has become mandatory. In fact if breakfast wasn't taken then my visit would be deemed to have been a failure. Staff are very efficient and friendly, most welcoming. The food is very good and always freshly cooked, I marvel at their poached eggs, a standard I just can't achieve. My only observation is that, especialy being a Spanish establishment, it would be nice to see black pudding (morcilla) with the breakfast. Prices quite humane! I look forward to next visit.

Waitress was incredibly rude. When I went to order I pointed to my table and proceeded to give my order. She snapped at me and told me to calm down and wait for her to put the table number in and just because I was hungry I shouldn’t rush her. I don’t think I did anything wrong or rush my order at all, there was no need for her attitude. When our hot drinks came she made a snarky comment that we didn’t help her take the drinks off the tray. When milk got spilt over the table and me, she didn’t help or even grab us tissues. Food was cold but I didn’t want to complain as I didn’t want to deal with the waitress again.

I’ve been here several times now and I think it’s a real hidden gem of South London. Staff are always very friendly. Brunch is great with tasty pretzel buns (halloumi and mushrooms ones are a winner) or full breakfasts with a Spanish twist. They have very good themed music nights with authentic musicians from across Europe, which are great paired with some light tapas and a glass of wine - nice cosy atmosphere too. Would recommend!

The lady didnt care when i was asking about the food i had to say please all the time ,Bad service and wasnt busy. Went on the 3rd of january 2022 with my family and would never go again.

Excellent coffee and fresh Nata. Nice home-spun atmosphere. Great place for brunch. Friendly service. A pleasant surprise.

Had brunch here a few times now. Vegi options available. Nice place to lounge for afternoon tea/coffee too.

Great place for breakfast & brunch. It’s a cozy place to catch up with friends or just have a good cup of coffee. Friendly people & good service. Keep it up!

A massive improvement on how it used to be. Portions are larger and they now do a vegan breakfast which is delicious. Would recommend

Found this cafe on our way to the cathedral as breakfast was poor in the hotel . So this was a very pleasant surprise. 2 sour dough toast 2 fried eggs, I mushroom, bacon.and fruit . 2 Cappuchinos and one white coffee. Very nice.

They can not poach an egg correctly as the white is runny, samonella surprise! also the serve Coffee warm, i think so you drink quick & buy another... The serve way too much choritso its unreal.

Was a bit cramped but completely understandable given how good the food is. The vegan breakfast was probably the best I’ve had. It’s good vegan food without relying on meat substitutes. My meat eating friends also really enjoyed their breakfast. Two of them were Spanish so High praise indeed.

Great spot to have a coffee in Streatham. Place is quite and nice for family, however is not too large. The seating outside are quite nice if it is sunny but might be noisy as they are facing the main road.
