Cafe Anglais in Barnet

Great Cafe. I've eaten at loads of cafes around the UK and I must say this is in my top three plus it's local. The food is well cooked and the portions are huge. Love this place

Over the last week, my colleague and I decided to break away from the usual golden arches breakfast routine. We opted for Cafe Anglais for a change, indulging in their delightful toasties. The experience left us impressed; our daily breakfasts became moments of silent appreciation, especially for the delicious grilled cheese. I later switched to a request for baked beans, cheese, and chillies, which truly hit the spot, evoking childhood memories. I highly recommend this place, and the impeccable orange juice is an added bonus.

I always wanted to try this cafe so I did at last the other day went for English breakfast with coffee which was costed £10.50 so I was not very impressed with it because there is nothing special about it and it’s just normal cafe with a bit run down building and decoration specially for Christmas time I expect to see better and there prices I would say over priced for the portion they serve plus the service was just normal and they table and cutlery could do with more cleaning and replacing. So I would say was just first and last time for me to this place as was nothing special about it to make me go again and maybe would not recommend either to anyone.

One of the finest cafes in London. A little pricey but food is well worth it, very clean and quick service. Been a regular for me for years

It's a greasy spoon, that's overpriced & I won't be setting foot in there ever again. A small plate of food for over a tenner with a cup of lukewarm tea... Drop your prices & pick your act up... Would of given one star but the waitresses were all polite.

I am changing my review of cafe anglais to praise Marly he is a Good man who has made huge efforts to turn this cafes reputation for treating women with disrespect around. (The priviouse review was made during the time his partner was more involved) (I feel i must be clear that Marly has always been a respectful Godly man) I now feel that due to the hard work that Marley has put in and his enlightend mindset that the cafe is a more harmonious environment and respectfull toward its staff and customers. The rude names and misogynistic energy that was once a demonic plague upon this place has been washed away and replaced with a loverly clean happy and respectfull environment that im more than happy to bring my three young doughters too.

It may not seem a nice restaurant from the look but you have to try it. The staff is the best, so nice and friendly. The food is so cheap and good. They do the best flat white I’ve ever had. Pastries are good as well as hot food. Highly recommended!!

This place if you're hungry for a proper fry up breakfast, large portions, open from 6am, a good start to the day!

Sad because I was regular customer going every week but for the last month they have changed their ingredients. The sausages are awful and pink inside. I won’t be going back for a long time as the meat they serve is disgusting including the bacon. Back to Frankies cafe it is! Not also that they haven’t finished refurbishing they’re shop which has been going on for over a year or 2…

Very expensive and not great quality food

The food is very good but the best thing about the place is the staff. The girls are so friendly - always smiling and helpful. And you don’t get that anymore in busy cafes these days.

I've been here first time but I'm very impressed. Food and coffee was delicious for a very good value for money. Staff is very friendly and helpful and atmosphere in caffee is nice. If I compare to a starbucks or Costa I would say I had much better and tasty food and coffee here for much cheaper than in Costa. They have big selection of food and drinks on the menu and they all look fantastic. I will definitely come back again.

Amazing place. Went here after dropping the car off for a service nearby and stranded in an unfamiliar part of town. Full of locals having their breakie, having banter, reading the paper. Proper community vibe. Food was also great, well priced. It’s a greasy spoon but not at all depressing in the way that some can be. It’s cheered me right up. Long may this place continue and good health to all the old boys necking their full english breakfasts

Good food, very nice and friendly

As a group, I suggested convening at Cafe Anglais as it was a local point of interest for me; in the vicinity of our minibus rental. Despite being refurbished, the surroundings were friendly; vibrant and welcoming. The staff were polite and offered great customer service - I very much appreciated being able to make a bespoke salad for example (with added suggestions from the chef!) Pricing was very fair and the quality of the ingredients were way above par. Overall, it was a brilliant experience; with quality produce, excellent value for money and wonderful staff. I will definitely be a return customer to enjoy the full dining experience (this time was to go).

This restaurant is awesome. Although this restaurant doesn't do deliveries but they offer nice food. Nice people who work there especially the lady who is waitress over there, amazing. I am tge regular customer over there. Today also i am going to have my routine food.

I was very impressed with this little cafe very friendly polite and helpful were the staff? The place is under construction so it looks a little rough from the outside but didn't inhibit our visit one bit the food was amazing and the portions were gigantic. And it tasted fabulous with highly recommend this place. Especially for the full English breakfast

I ordered a full English breakfast that had two sunny eggs, ham, beans, mushrooms, toast, tomatoes, potatoes, sausages and black pudding - it had satisfied my craving. The portion was large enough for two people and the price was reasonable. They took attention on packaging when I asked them to pack my food.

Was stopping at nearby Premier Inn, thank goodness found Cafe Anglais , the Edgware Rd NW9 is non stop takeaway joints, none looking that appealing. We had lunch, evening meal and a breakfast here all generous proportioned and well cooked/presented. Not cordon Bleu just honest to goodness good grub.. Once food ordered service is by waitress, staff are attentive and friendly. Even though the extensive refurbishment building work is in progress, one would not know apart from sterling board walls! Was absolutely over joyed to find a real cafe like they used to once be. Well done to management hope you go from strength to strength

Visited friday it has always been a great place for breakfast but not any more. Two eggs bacon hash browns beans two toast and a tea sausage thrown in £ 9-60 I know prices have risen but thats taking the piss

A Ma and Pa store with a lovely atmosphere, great service and ok prices. Veggie options on breakfast and I'm having the Lasagne next time with salad and chips for £8.00. The teas and coffees alone are worth checking this classic working class cafe jem out for.....you could almost be in an Ealing Studios film set!!!! I also really like the temporary hording outside which has been there years as its bright and colourful....check this place out as they deserve a leg up against the chain store boys.

The best cafe for traditional & contemporary breakfasts in this part of town. Perfect eggs. I had the eggs royale, just SUPERB ! Freshly squeezed orange & fantastic coffee just complimented my brunch. Menu looks vast and lots of hot dinners too. From meats cooked freshly to VEGAN too. I could see a lot of clientele frequent this cafe regularly. Lovely atmosphere so friendly especially the owners & staff. They’re under refurbished but that’s no trouble within the cafe. Even the hoarding has added to it’s appeal. Fabulous place, a must try I highly recommend. Much better than the cafe up the road. Professional service here with a smile 10/10

It is so bad I wanna give it a 0 but that is not possible so I give it a 1 The sausage was so nasty it tasted like a dirty dish cloth why was the scramble egg so bright orange why was it one big construction site why did nobody warn me when I walked in that it is nasty

One of the best place to buy a good coffee.

Went to this place after a long gym session and was ready for an All Day Breakfast and a cup of tea. The outside of the store is lovely even while they are in construction. The inside is quite cosy as well. Vast menu and fair prices for what is on the plate. Customer service was splendid by being polite, getting straight to the point and reaching out if we ever needed something. Will definitely be back again. Good work from the team xx

My late husband & I used to patronise Cafe Anglais every couple of months, so it was a pleasure, last week, to return with another friend, who is a more regular customer. I shall be returning.
