Visited here with a friend on 15 Oct when I was visiting Edinburgh. Busy when we got there. Absolutley lovely inside. Even though it was busy were served promptly with our food. The food was spot on and plenty of it. Service was also spot on. Can't fault the place. Will definitely go again when I'm next up in Edinburgh

Great food, service and what a buzz in the restaurant. We all had a wonderful time, and the gluten free choices were plentiful too

Was recommended here by a friend and I'm glad they did the food was amazing and there was a good selection of dishes to choose from and the staff were warm and friendly

My new favourite tapas restaurant. The staff were pleasant and polite and the food was amazing. There was so much choice and all arrived quickly and tasted fabulous

The food was very good and the prices were reasonable. We shared the meatballs, cheesy garlic bread, calamari, chicken with yogurt and the croquettes. We enjoyed them all but the meatballs and croquettes were our favorites. The only reason I’m rating it with 4 stars is because the waitress wasn’t friendly at all and she made us feel like we were unwelcome.

I saw this restaurant on the way back from the National Museum of Scotland and decided to book a table for dinner. They offer a lunch, pre theatre and Sunday menu which is 3 tapas and dessert for £19.95. The food was amazing, easily the best tapas I have ever tasted. Location, ambiance and service were first rate too. Will definitely be coming back.

We are very fond of tapas and this place looked the part with excellent Andalucian decor. We were quickly shown to our table (no reservation) and our lunch order taken promptly. The food arrived all at once and was not hot. We were served a bean salad we had not ordered and eventually received our full order. The chicken paella was not fresh and did not smell nice. It must have been left over from the previous night. Other dishes were acceptable but distinctly average.

Following the last 18 months, there were times when I thought we'd never be able to go "out out" ever again.So to go here yesterday and feel like the "thing" had never happened was amazing.Great food, great service, wine to die for. Atmosphere as close as you can get to the real deal in Spain.Love love love it.PS! The tortilla is beautiful.

First night in Edinburgh and fancied some tapas , wasn't disappointed. Good selection, busy restaurant, quick service. Wine was pricey at over £20 a bottle. Albondigas was a bit bland, but very good black pudding. Service charge added to bill, would rather have given it to staff directly. Good choice

We booked a meal for last Saturday evening at 8pm. So we were seated very quickly and food was served very quickly. Waiter was pleasant. However, we'd been to this restaurant about 7 years ago and it was amazing. This time it was very disappointing. Food was only lukewarm. Calamari was so salty we couldn't eat it. Our favourite dish is the Goats Cheese with Orange Marmalade. But this time it hadn't even been baked. We were seated upstairs. But it was so loud we couldn't hear each other speak. It seemed much quieter downstairs. Definitely nothing like the experience we had 7 years ago. We went to the Aberdeen restaurant 3 months ago and that was so much better. I don't think we'll go back to the Edinburgh one but will definitely be back to the Aberdeen one.

Sólo probamos 3 tapas, las croquetas de jamón muy buenas, la berenjena gratinada muy rica también y las patatas bravas venían mojadas y pochas... El personal muy adecuado y atento. El precio...una barbaridad de caro!!!!!!!!! Si alguno de los platos de la carta no hacen honor a España ni a Andalucía sencillamente es porque los dueños son italianos.... Lo peor de todo el precio.

Arrived at 7pm, took our order at 7.20ish, food was tasty but only tepid when it arrived, enjoyed the food but needs to be a lot hotter, have a tapas bar where we live and food always hot.Maybe it was an off night as it was busy, mentioned it was not hot enough heat wise to one of the waiting staff who said oh sorry about that and off he went.Don't get me wrong food seasoned nicely, but who wants to eat tepid food

We visit this restaurant on our trip to Edinburgh and it was absolutely fantastic! We shared a selection of tapas, some of which isn’t your traditional, including patatas gratinadas, pollo rebozado con miel and tagine de Cordero and all were delicious. Service was great and the interior is lovely. Would definitely recommend!

In all honesty, we came to Cafe Andaluz by default in that our usual favourite Edinburgh Tapas restaurant was fully booked and we had been impressed by Cafe Andaluz in Glasgow, so it was logical to want to experience the Andaluz experience in Edinburgh.Located in George Street in the heart of Edinburgh, the entrance gives few clues to the size of the premises behind. Decorated in an attractive traditional Spanish style, the property has dining on two floors and, at least on our visit, was very busy. There is seating outside for those sunny Scottish days! We ordered a wide selection of Tapas for 4, tortilla espanola, patatas bravas, gambas, pinchitos morunos, large paella mariscos, butifarra negra and bread.Each dish was tasty and was an adequate tapas portion. The paella gave a wonderful aroma and was more than sufficient in size.Service was very good with no issues. Cost was in the region of £100.Overall, very good but, for us, not as good as our usual restaurant for flavours and flair. Well worth a try if you enjoy Spanish food though.

I was really impressed by Cafe Andaluz. We visited early evening on a Thursday and ordered from the pre theatre menu. The dishes on that menu are slightly smaller but the 6 between us plus 1 extra bread was more than enough alongside a nice bottle of red. The staff were nice and pleasant. Will visit again and would highly recommend.

Excellent dining experience at Cafe Andaluz, there was a huge selection of tapas dishes to choose from we were spoilt for choice! All the food was delicious and arrived extremely quickly. Very good value for money as we ordered 5 tapas dishes & 1 side dish between 2 people. Can’t fault it!

We had a sharing platter to start with and then the mixed paella and I couldn't resist the raspberry cheesecake all washed down with a jug of sangria and brandy coffees to finish. The young server was attentive and knowledgeable

Ate here last week, and as coeliac was impressed with their allergy information and options. Staff were very knowledgeable and really helpful. Was a pleasure to eat here with a number of choices available. Would definitely go again.

Found this superb Spanish Tapas Restaurant on a city break in Edinburgh in mid-September. Great reception, and excellent staff friendliness and attention throughout. Good range of hot and cold tapas dishes. We ordered 6 dishes between the 2 of us. Arrived in good time, and excellently presented. Good quality food. A wonderful experience, and we wished we lived closer.

We visited on our recent trip to Edinburgh, we booked a few weeks in advance as we love Tapas and always like to go to a good tapas restaurant when on holidayWe arrived and were seated quickly, the restaurant is big and very busyService was very good and quick although it kind of felt like they just wanted you in and out as quickly as possible.We ordered drinks which arrived quickly and the amaretto sour was excellent one of the best we have had in a whileWe ordered various small dishes to share. The food arrived quickly but sadly did not live up to our expectations. I think most of it was frozen and re heated and was not fresh or cooked to order. The calamari was chewy and rubbery and definitely not fresh. The paella was so bland and completely lacked any seasoning at all.The gambas pil pil was not fresh and lacked flavor. The croquettes and garlic bread were nice but not amazing. Not worth the money and not authentic spanish tapas. I would not recommend if you are looking for proper authentic freshly cooked tapas

Visited Cafe Andaluz with my sister, her partner and my partner and had a lovely time. The restaurant had good ambiance and the service was also good. We ordered various tapas dishes and each one was delicious, we will definitely come back the next time we visit Edinburgh

Food quality was sub-par for the price. Will not be coming back.Cons:> The Plato combinado Espanol was small and didn’t include the Spanish tortilla as per the menu. It seems like it was replaced by 4 small slices of cured meats. Not worth £14.80 and the replacement should have been mentioned when ordering. > We got 6 thin asparagus tips for £6.40 (£1 per asparagus).l> We got 4 overcooked “king prawns” - 2 average size and 2 small in quite a sweet tomato sauce which tasted as though it contained no chilli at all (despite being the ‘Gambas picante’) for £8.20 (£2 per overcooked prawn)> We got 6 calamari rings for £6.20 (£1 per ring)> The mussel sauce was thin, watery and lacked depth.> Potatas Bravas came with very little sauce> Food came out very quick - clearly not fresh/made to orderPros.> The chorizo in red wine sauce potion size and taste was good> The mussel portion size was good.On the plus side, when we mentioned the issues the manager did offer to rectify the problems (and did refund some items from our bill) - which meant we did leave feeling better about the situation. However, overall, for nearly a £100 bill for 2 people (with a bottle of wine), Cafe Andaluz should do better

Excellent food and wine.We tried the scallops with basil and leeks, this was the most deliciously mind blowing combination. Usual favorites; chorizo in red wine, patatas braves, polo con meil, paella and Mallorca salsa. Tried The brownie, preferred the chocolate orange torte that used to be on the menu. Raspberry cheese cake was great!Thank you once again for wonderful service, atmosphere and a taste of spai6

The food was reasonable enough but not spectacular and we thought the choice of wines were poor. The setvice was pleasant enough.

Food was delicious, service at the beginning was slow but got better after waiting a long time for drinks and some water other wise great

My daughter booked this restaurant for our 2 night stay in Edinburgh and I'm so glad she did. Everything from start to finish was excellent. The service was provided with a smize (smiley eyes with masks lol) and our waiter was very attentive. All the food was delicious and hot and the creme brulee was to die for. We tried a couple of cocktails too, my first strawberry daiquiri was perfect unfortunately the 2nd was way too strong that I left it, others might of not had a problem with that. The one negative I have is that they don't have a restaurant near me, more trips to Scotland it will have to be.

You will need a booking to get a seat as this is a very popular venue. If I were scoring only on food, this would be a ‘5’ rating. Unfortunately, the waitress let us down. Our final dish was delivered to another table which meant we had a long wait. I get that mistakes happen but when we tried to discuss it with her, she became argumentative, said it was not her fault and disputed the time we had waited. Other than this unfortunate incident, this place is fabulous. You really feel like you are in Spain once seated. Exciting Spanish decor, buzzy atmosphere and simply delicious food. We shared 5 x tapas and one desert and that was enough food for the two of us. This is the second time I have been here over an 18 month period and despite the covid time we live in, this place is consistently serving delicious food. Well done. Recommended.

Food was really good, service was excellent, however…. I am coeliac and was ill after visiting so not sure how careful they are for gluten free. This was the only time this happened after visiting various restaurants in Edinburgh, so unfortunately would not return.

This restaurant I think is part of a network, because I've seen two in Edinburgh. It is very nicely decorated, in Spanish style, and has a multitude of very tasty tapas. It's not a pretentious place, the staff is pretty uninvolved, but worth a visit.

Never would of thought of having such a authentic Spanish cuisine experience in Edinburgh but we did. The tapas were great but the main event was the Paella. We had the seafood mixed. It was amazing. Good wine selection as well or you can have a pitcher of Sangria to pair with the dishes. Unexpectedly great and awesome service as well. I had made my reservations for the next day by mistake but the maître d' was nice enough to cancel it and give us a table that was ready straight ahead. Would recommend.

The food was great and atmosphere brilliant just disappeared in service as menu wasn’t explained and a service charge is added to the bill so I felt the staff been have to push them selves and our bottle of champagne was just plonked on the table not even pour in to our glasses

We are there yesterday evening , the food was not fresh . The paella was dry and we had toPut sauce from another dish into it the chicken in honey were like chicken nuggets out the freezer with some honey poured on no other flavours present , the croquettes were cold then when I asked for them to be warm they were like ones you get out of freezer . Not fresh . I spoke to another customer outside who said the food was not fresh , maybe they having delivery problems but not acceptable

I love a good tapas place but this fell a bit short on the food. Great atmosphere and service but the food wasn't the best. It was OK, it just didn't seem as fresh as it should be, certainly wasn't prepared to order. Everything came out at once (not used to that in a tapas place!) and really quickly, which seems like a good thing but I'd rather wait a bit longer for freshly prepared food. The pollo marinado for example was dry and just looked like it had been sitting out for a while. The cheese on the asparagus had gone a bit congealed too (sorry that sounds gross, can't think of a better way to describe it!).

We we’re unable to book a table, but were told we could wait. We required a table for four, but there seating management was poor. The staff were efficient, but standoffish. The food was good, but I’ve had better.

Service was great and food was good. The only downside I would say is the calamari was rubbery and chewy. Portions are quite reasonable so I would even say two per person.

First visit, recommended by son who had been before. Loved the decor and atmosphere. The service was excellent and the food gorgeous. Thanks very much for an amazing experience.

Enjoyed an evening glass of chilled white wine. Helpful and friendly staff. We sat outside on a beautiful summer’s evening and watched the world go by. Would like to sample the tapas on a next visit.

We visited George street in Edinburgh yesterday and had the most lovely afternoon. The weather was sunny and we had an outside table . We had cava for drinks and there’s a big selection of tapas both fish meat and vegetarian for my daughter . The berenjenas al rellenas was delicious . The staff were friendly and it was a lovely atmosphere. The inside is decorated in typical Spanish style just wonderful and I can’t wait for you opening soon in Newcastle where we live

What a great place this is, gorgeous tapas, excellent service and very reasonably priced.We had the Sunday special menu which is great value for money, with 3 x tapas at £15.95 and we added one of the mixed starters.Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly, with the added bonus of sitting outside it was a taste of Spain in the centre of Edinburgh, perfect.

It has been absolutely ages since I've been here, but I never wrote a review and even though it was FOUR YEARS AGO (!!!) I still remember how amazing it was. Staff were so friendly and cheerful, the atmosphere was incredible- we were just after a stressful journey but couldn't help but feel so relaxed in here, and of course the food was absolutely delicious!! Must come again really soon ☺

Excellent food, staff who made a genuine effort to find a table in a fully booked restaurant. Not particularly cheap, but hey, you get what you pay for. Hope it comes to London soon.

Lovely food complimented with their sangria twist. A great atmosphere and buzz around the busy restaurant, although this didn't impact the swift service.

Booked in for dinner (5 of us) and we ordered a good selection of food. Everything was good, but very little was stunning. It's difficult coping with so many covers but the quality of the food wasn't great - I'm sure the ingredients were top quality but just lacked a bit.My calamari was under-cooked so was a bit soggy...but great taste. The chorizo in red wine was simply that - my daughter cooks this dish a thousand times better. There were a few highlights - the chicken with honey & mustard was superb; the tortilla was incredibly light & fluffy.I had high hopes as my wife had eaten her a few years ago and had really enjoyed it so just found the whole visit disappointing.Would we go again - probablyWould we recommend to friends - possibly

We stopped by for sangría and a few tapas late afternoon and it was lovely. We got seated straight away outdoors without a reservation and the service was excellent. The food was delicious! We will definitely return the next time we are in Edinburgh

On arrival we (myself, husband, mother and 8 month old baby) were taken to our table. Unfortunately, despite requesting a high chair on our booking and on arrival, quite a while went by before one was brought to us and we had to get up and ask again.After this, the service improved.The dishes were delicious and so tasty. Would recommend the padron peppers and the scallops were amazing.We would definitely return if visiting Edinburgh again.

Have to say that the Black Pudding in Cafe Andaluz was definitely the best I have ever had and probably one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. Absolutely fantastic. Food overall was very tasty and good the meatballs and tangine lamb was also very good. Highly recommend the restaurant and the Black Pudding is the BEST!!!!

Went for a light dinner and ordered 6 dishes between the two of us! Left us feeling full!!!! DELICIOUS……. Service was great too!

Greeted by really friendly staff who offered us options for sitting. Services was served with a happy face (under the mask) and was prompt and gave helpful advice. The food…don’t even get me started on the food…it was amazing!! Even down to the desserts. Would highly recommend eating here and getting any dish you fancy as it’s guaranteed to be delicious. 10/10.

Eight of dined very well here. We ordered around three tapas dishes per person and with some bread and olives that was sufficient. A number of us enjoyed a dessert as well. The food was very good and well presented and the service excellent. The whole ambiance of this restaurant is fantastic. Would I go again, most certainly!

This place is our favourite restaurant and never fails to disappoint. Really glad they haven't changed any of the menu as you always know what to expect. The service was fast and both girls that served us were lovely. Another fantastic meal. Can't recommend this restaurant enough.

Great lunch deal everything tasty. We paid around £15.00 each for three tapas each . I enjoyed the goats cheese in homemade orange and chilli marmalade , the lamb Tagine , and the chicken ( Pollo Marinado) . My husband had the Asparagus salad , the Calmann my ares and Boquerones. What a great meal ! Everything was enjoyed . Highly recommended . The wine was great too . We tasted the Siglo Saco ( for me by the glass) and a bottle of the Viognier . Both great .In addition the service was efficient and friendly . Thank you

Tasty fresh food, good service and great location. Staff if anything were over attentive, two asking the same thing directly after each other but much better than being ignored so not complaining! Really enjoyed our lunch, a wide range of vegetarian, pescatarian and meats available. Look forward to returning.

Great food and generous sized portion for tapas. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Particularly enjoyed the scallops and the lemon posset dessert.

We really enjoy tapas and this restaurant did not disappoint. Everything we chose came to the table hot n tasty from the mini paella to the calamari and croquettes. Portions are not huge but for us tapas is all about trying small amounts of a variety of dishes. We left feeling absolutely “stuffed” Our waitress was really friendly and helpful. Overall a great night out.

Food was absolutely fantastic, we had a range of vegetarian, pescatarian, and meat eating diners and the food offered catered to all easily. Everything was perfect, totally fantastic meal. Will definitely be back!

Great meal with a friendly hostess. Only issue was the humiliation of the waiters having to wear a t shirt with big writing saying in training.

Very average and IMO pricey for what you get. Ordered the ‘king scallops’ they were the size of a 5p, got about 5 of them (thick to be fair but tiny) with crispy ham and creamy leek sauce.. £10.50! The croquettes were really dry and not cheesy, genuinely thought they were frozen and the slow cooked lamb again was tiny little pieces of lamb, not nice big chunks. Everything also arrived at the same time, all 7 dishes we ordered, and so not everything was warm.. just not very good at all!

We hadn't booked but they could not have been more accommodating and found us a table fairy quickly. Service with smiles (behind the masks) and delectable tapas. Highly recommended.

The potato starters were tasty but the 4 meat dishes were all very dry and certainly not slow cooked as the description stated on the menu. The wine was of good quality but willl not return and not recommended for food as the meat dishes must have been pre cooked as did not taste fresh.

To be honest it’s not the best tapas place I’ve ever tried and was fairly over priced for what you got but despite this the food was still enjoyable. The cocktails were fab, but the service was even better! We had a waitress called Nichola when we can for food on the 13th in the evening. She was lovely and made us feel very welcome so Nichola boosted the rating up to 4⭐️.

Decided to pop out for an impromptu date night and passed Cafe Andaluz which we have dined before but never in the their new outside seating area. We were seated and served quickly. Beautiful food and drinks selection as always, clean and professional table layout and setting considering we were outside. Professional and friendly staff, great atmosphere and ambience for a late night dinner on a summer evening. Booking recommended for weekend dining.

Decided on an early family dinner, and luckily we could get a table in George Street.The setting is lovely, the restaurant is big and airy and the staff friendly enough. The food however was really excellentWe had TABLA DE SERRANO, TORTILLA ESPAÑOLA, CALAMARES, GAMBAS PIL PIL, PESCADO ADOBADO, GAMBAS REBOZADAS, ALBÓNDIGAS, PINCHITOS MORUNOS, CHULETAS DE CORDEO, BOLLO AL AJILLO, & PAN DE AJO CON QUESO. not a bad dish amongst them all Lovely

Lovely food and although very busy the service was excellent.one small request. When we order 6 dishes do they need to arrive all at once? That always makes me feel a slight sense of tension what to eat first!!! Seriously, the food here is good and it’s a nice atmosphere also. We will be back next time in Edinburgh.

Food was fantastic, felt I was in Spain! The sangria was really tasty, we finished the entire jug! Crazy! Staff were lovely, no complaint on my end. Would highly recommend to all.

Just had an exceptional lunch here. We had the 3 tapas for £16 ea deal. The food was excellent and full of flavour, the service was friendly, quick and efficient. The decor and atmosphere were superb. Could not recommended this restaurant more, we'll definitely be back.

Had really bad service nearby and left to go elsewhere. Came and the lovely staff at Cafe Andalusz were happy to accommodate us. The food was fantastic. Atmosphere is always great in here. Wonderful value on the pre theatre menu. Such a lovely buzz about the place! The service was amazing. Prompt/polite and couldn't do enough for you. The management are doing a great job here leading a team of enthusiastic and friendly staff. Nothing was a problem and we were made to feel very welcome. We visited cafe Andaluz last night, the service was very good, really friendly and welcoming but sadly the food was disappointing. We ordered the calamari that was really rubbery & the gambas pil pil which the prawns were extremely dry and over cooked. The rest of the food was ok but lacking seasoning. Sadly not the best tapas I have had, was very average.

Had a brilliant lunch here today with a work colleague. The service was great: relaxed but attentive, fast, and friendly. We arrived at 12.15pm and had our pick of tables with a castle view to choose from, which was much appreciated! The tables in the main part of the restaurant were very spread out and everything felt safe. We wished we could have stayed for dessert and coffee as there was lots to tempt even on the smaller lunch menu. Highly recommended for a fun lunch in central Edinburgh.

Firstly I rang to say I was going to be late and this was acceptable thankfully. On booking a reservation I informed them I was intolerant to foods and they knew this and had the menu ready for me with the list on. This helped me order my food and there be no hidden ingredients which made the experience even more so delightful and knowing it wasn’t going to upset me afterwards. I just wish more restaurants did this.The food was lovely. The service was too. Would highly recommend.

We visited this restaurant on Wednesday. The food was absolutely amazing and such a good selection available. The calamari however was abit too chewy but all the other dishes were excellent. The staff however were all really quiet and not overly friendly. They didn’t check if we enjoyed our food or didn’t make much conversation. The service was prompt and efficient however. Overall, the food was great but service could be improved to make customers feel more welcome.

Staff were great, food was amazing! Love the tapas selection meaning you can try a load of different things including some with a Scottish twist to them. Cocktails were also great!

After reading all the great reviews about this restaurant we signed up straight away to book a table. When we arrived at the restaurant there was minimal customer service and this continued throughout the visit. We ordered 7 dishes and they arrived at the table straight away - not freshly cooked, meat was dry and sauces had a dried layer on top. Couple of dishes were lovely however. After the waitress took away all the left over food there was no ‘was everything ok for you?’ Never one to complain but this place didn’t even give the option to give critical feedback. We’ve eaten in some great places in Edinburgh. Expected more from this place based on the reviews. Disappointing.

Have visited here in the past and thought it was just OK, this time however I found everything to be much better, service was food, food was hot and super tasty, would recommend and I look forward to my next visit

Visited with family for my Birthday lunch this week, stunning setting, bottle of house Merlot was excellent, we ordered 9 tapas to share and can not fault a thing, delicious, hot and will return for the Tagine alone, service was very efficient without being over bearing, could not praise it enough, try it, it will not disappoint.

Service, atmosphere and drinks were very nice but the food was very average. Could do with a bit more seasoning and could have came a bit warmer as some of the items were luke warm.

Superb tapas menu with loads of choice but the quantity of choice did not mean a lack of quality. The excellent food was backed up by friendly & efficient staff. The sangria was a great choice of refreshment too

Walked in at the end of May with no reservation and were lucky enough to get a table. We were seated in the outside tent area which has been set up temporarily on George Street Road. Seating area was comfy and covered on the windy day we were there. All staff were very friendly and looked happy to be back at work. Good set course lunch menu which we shared between the two of us. All food was very hot considering there is a bit of a walk from the kitchen out onto the street then to where you are seated. It all had lots of flavours and no complaints from either of us.

Ordered 3 tapas each and a jug of sangria. All food was delicious. Even had a dessert each. Finished off with Spanish coffee and tea. Everything was amazing 😀 Hope to get back soon. Thank you 😊

The staff were great at being able to find us a table at short notice , they were helpful and service was quick and effective the food was great (as we have always found)

This restaurant was recommended by family & it certainly didn’t disappoint 👌 Food & service was ‘ second to none ‘ with a wide variety of dishes to choose from .
