Fantastic food and service at Cafe Andaluz George Street. We were served by a young female with glasses, didn't catch her name but I think she mentioned she was quite new. Very attentive and helpful, also gave us info on the membership scheme which we will be sure to sign up for. It was our first time here and we will be sure to be back.

Great food, pleasant atmosphere, friendly service

A First date for myself and the guy I'm hoping to continue to see, lovely dinner, waiters very prompting, weren't too pushy, let us take our time and order when we wanted too, lovely atmosphere, very busy with city centre location but that was to be expected, all in all a total win for us, and yes we have our second date this weekend too our for some cocktail, thankyou for a lovely evening cafe Andaluz xox

The tasteless food, the worst patatas bravas I have ever eaten in my life. The pattern peppers were RAW, the meatballs were disgusting and cold. DWARF tapas and super expensive. Don't even think about coming here because it's not Spanish food at all, it's an absurd and despicable recreation.

My boyfriend and I arrived with no reservation and got a table straight away. Table service, simply amazing. Food came so quick, all dishes in perfect form and temperature. Dessert a must also. Place and service 10/10, highly recommended. Always love tapas. This place was top notch.

Beware, they do not devein their prawns or prep their food properly. When brought up, they simply say that that’s just how it is for their restaurant. Ingredients are obviously frozen, seafood is mushy so was not even frozen fresh. Food is also extremely mediocre for their price point especially when so many people recommend it. Expect to wait a long time to be served, I noticed quite a few tables had to request several times for a dessert menu, if it was me, I wouldve just left.

This is undoubtedly an excellent Spanish restaurant in Edinburgh, offering authentic Spanish-style Tapas. Each dish is served in small portions, allowing diners to taste a wide variety of delicious flavors. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it perfect for a meal with friends or a relaxing dining experience. Highly recommended!

We visited on a busy Sunday and booked in advance, but got the feeling that it had been overlooked. It was very busy, but they found us a table at the top of the restaurant. The service was fast and efficient, and the food was quickly brought out after we ordered, which suggests that it's mass produced. The food was ok, but it wasn't outstanding. The venue was clean and tidy and very busy with families.

It is one of our favourite places to eat in Edinburgh. Great food and staff are so nice. Would highly recommend. A group of us are going for Christmas

I'd give Cafe Andaluz a 2.5 stars based on this first time visit. The restaurant is actually quite large - it expands far back, which you initially can't tell when you walk in. We arrived after the lunch rush, assuming it would be easy to get a table. We could be seated right away as long as we could finish our meal in 90 minutes. Evidently Cafe Andaluz is very popular even in the afternoon! I took this as a good sign that the food must be good then. Unfortunately more disappointing than I thought. We ordered the patatas bravas, calamari, gambas pil pil (king prawns roasted in olive oil, chilli, paprika and garlic) and pollo y panceta (skewers of chicken, pancetta and red onion marinated in chimichurri, with rocket, pine nuts and chimichurri salsa). I've had patatas bravas many times in Spain so was excited to see this on the menu. Cafe Andaluz's interpretation of patatas bravas is not as authentic. The potatoes were mushier rather than firm. The calamari was lukewarm and tasteless - like I was eating semi fried rubber. The real head scratcher was the pil pil. It looked appealing and promising but the whole dish was tasteless. The shrimp sat in red oil that was tasteless. There was zero garlic flavor. We were perplexed at how something colorful and vibrant would have no taste?! The only thing that truly redeemed this meal was the pollo y panceta. The garnishes and chimichurri helped enhance the dish. So all in all, an overpriced and mostly flavorless tapas late lunch that did **not** meet expectations.

Fast service, friendly staff, and the food was beautiful!

The scallop tasted like cattle farm and I had to spit it out. Maybe they’re harvested at the sewer treatment plant. The calamari was somehow over cooked but still soggy. The only good thing was the wine because it helped get rid of the taste of the meal.

My husband and I attended yesterday with 4 friends for our Christmas lunch. We all agreed the food and wine were excellent. So glad we pre booked as the queue to get in was out the door and onto the street....even at 2pm!! Our waitress was so pleasant and helpful. Thanks AINHOA you were a 🌟. We were in general a bit disappointed by the food and the service. Our waiter initially forgot our order and then served us different drinks than we had asked for, without trying to fix it once we pointed it out. Price was fairly high for the portion sizes and in general the food was somewhat bland.

Absolutely brilliant meal today with my two friends. Friendly service was first class and the atmosphere was fantastic. Will definitely be going back - sooner rather than later. Price of lunch very reasonable and good amount fir each tapas.

The food was a low quality, the service was good and quick service. The people should aks how the tip is split between staff. After speak with some of the waiters i belive. Most part go to managment and supervisor and no much is from waiter and other low rank staff. They said to us the manager decided how to split the pot and press staff to do extra hours. I find this disgusting

El restaurante es muy bonito, el servicio por parte de los camareros,muy bien,pero la comida,fue horrible,pocas cantidades,y de comida española,ni parecerse por casualidad Éramos 3 adultos,pedimos unos pinchos andaluces (que tenian poco de andaluces) y nos pusieron 2,osea un desastre,calamares a la romana,igualmente en un plato de postre,tocamos a 1 calamar por persona,pedimos también u as gambas,las trajeron en una cazuela pequeña,tocamos a una gamba x cabeza,y la cuarta a repartir De precio,como la mayoría de restaurantes que fuimos en Edimburgo,pero encima poca cantidad y nada que ver con las tapas españolas Para nosotros fue una decepcion

went for dinner with my mom the food was great we enjoyed it a lot but the service was actually quite disappointing and overall made the experience worse than it could be we waited for some time to order, but the waitress was clearing other tables, doing the cutlery instead of approaching us the waitress messed up the order, we haven’t received one of the dish, but received the other one that was half price more expensive than one we ordered never got checked back by anyone when we received the bill, there was extra stuff in it that we asked to removed as we never had the dish; when we asked to remove what we haven’t received the attitude of the waitress was a bit off, but i get that, it wasn’t her mistake overall, you could see that waiting staff is trying, but clearly they are either understaffed or poorly managed, which is sad because the food is great and you can see the effort.

I came in at around 8:30pm, craving some good food (paella, specifically). While it came out quickly enough (for paellas at least), the flavor was quite lacking, and the two jumbo shrimp were both soft and pasty - definitely not fresh at all. I also had to ask for an extra lemon half to get enough flavor into the soggy rice. Obviously then, there also was no crispy crust (socarrat) to it at all. The paella was meant for two, so portion sizes were fine. But for how mid it was, it was an EXPENSIVE dish. If you're looking for paellas at least, I would unfortunately not recommend - unless you desire to be let down.

The paella was very watery and tasteless, more like a risotto than a paella. It was good that there was a lot of seafood in it. It took a long time to place an order because of the small staff for the size of the restaurant. The restaurant was noisy and we heard the sound of plates being broken three times during our one-hour stay.

Dinner with my friend Shirley & a good catch-up. Lots of tapas Irish coffee & a pudding. It was amazing all washed down with a bottle of cheeky chardonnay, would recommend to everyone & very reasonable prices.

Always have lovely food and wine here with my partner. Service is always brilliant too. The Padron Peppers are my favourite 😀

Excellent tapas in a nice atmosphere with friendy staff. The sangria was nice and, as we had a voucher, the price was fabulous value for money! In such a central location, it is probably best to book - even early evening. Already booked to revisit!

We went here pre-theatre at 5pm and had 3 tapas courses each under the lunch menu selections for just £18.95 each. The portions were very generous and were so tasty and brilliantly prepared. This was my first visit, but we will definitely be back and now plan to visit regularly. The tastes and textures were amazing, and the quality of the ingredients was first class.

Really nice building and in general the food was nice. I had a prawn dish (part of the 3 tapas lunch deal) which was plain but the other two tapas were great. Service was prompt which didn't affect the dishes

The individual dishes are fine, but the fish paella is terribly disgusting. Far from what these should be unfortunately. There are definitely better alternatives in Edinburgh.

Excellent food, service and staff

Came with my other half completely oblivious to it being Mothers Day! They made a reservation for us with no issues, great service and fantastic food - even offering the Mothers Day Special Menu 😄. The variety on offer was wonderful and the drinks menu good. Would definitely recommend!

The food fell rather short of the expectations. The seafood was not fresh and not well executed. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Fell in love with the exterior Spanish Named City catching your eye. The interiors were with vibrant colors, intricate designs, and cultural elements that make you feel like you’re in Spain itself. The combination of traditional and modern elements created a unique and inviting atmosphere. Cannot visualise it completely in the pictures you have to experience it yourself.

Went on a busy Festival Sunday evening. Only got a sangria picture as my phone battery died. Lovely food and very filling. Group of 3 and 3 tapas each. Lovely food and combinations. Be back soon.

The food is hit or miss, the calamari was tasty and well fried despite being a bit heavily salted, and the croquettes were fairly good, but the patatas bravas and the gambas pil pil were a let down. The patatas tasted better in the gambas sauce than in the marinara-esque red sauce it came with. Service was good, atmosphere was very good. Reasonably priced. Outdoors provides for good people watching.

The food is greatly appreciated by someone who comes from other latitudes and is not used to Scottish cuisine.

We were in this restaurant located in Aberdeen and the truth is, the tapas were decent, but when we visited the one in Edinburgh, the experience was horrible, for having a Spanish owner, you can't serve such a bad paella. Without any flavor, the seafood was two mussels and two prawns, with 4 squid rings like chewing gum. We do not recommend it at all. They charged us 5 pounds for 3 slices of Bimbo bread.

Really disappointed. Food taste was average to OK but the sizes was disappointing for the price. Although with all of this, the service was the worst thing I have had. The young lady with blonde was extremely rude, kept walking away and ignoring us, asked where the toilet is, walked straight past, had to ask for plates and forks etc, walking away before finishing what she has to do and only interested in tables she wanted to serve. Constantly staring and made us feel really uncomfortable and awkward. Would never recommend or come back. I do have to add that one of the male waiters was nice.

Ambience was great, making it seem like the place was on the posh end, but unfortunately our food was under-seasoned and definitely not price matching. We ordered two paellas to share between 4 people. Plus, the pina colada I ordered was sour and watery for a traditionally sweet and creamy drink. But to their credit, we were given fresh garlic mayo free of charge when requested, to go with the paella. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating but we probably won’t be returning.

Met family here for lunch, really nice food and drink, service was a little slow but other than that a lovely lunch. I'm not a massive fan of tapas normally but this was really good, nice sized dishes and I would strongly recommend the scallops.
