We decided to visit the car museum, as the weather was not great. As we had not had lunch we decided to pop into the cafe. We have been before and it is always really busy. We opted for the curry option which was really tasty and very good quality. It did not take long for us to get our food, which set us up for the rest of the afternoon. A great day out, highly recommend!

Big spacious cafe, dry and warm on a miserable wet rainy day; really friendly and helpful staff; absolutely delicious food. Four meals were ordered and declared the best, but brioche stack is highly recommended. Beautiful views of the river, surrounding area and steam train when it’s running.

We’d been to the museum before and remembered there was a cafe. We had a lovely lunch sat outside, and enjoyed it. Food was served quickly and it’s not cheap but then neither was the quality of the food so we’re happy to have tried it and will be back!

We were hoping the museum had a cafe as it was lunchtime when we arrived, but we didn't expect anything as good as this. It's quite large so we were able to find a table. Our order seemed to be a while arriving but was well worth it. Beautifully presented, totally delicious and worth the cost. I'd recommend the open Smoked Salmon sandwich.

We visited after we had been to the museum. We are frequent visitors to Cafe Ambio at Astley Park so thought we’d try this one. Between us we had a beef sandwich, a children’s lunch box, chips, hot drinks, cake and ice cream. The food and drinks were all hot and tasty. The kids sandwich was in a brioche bun which my son didn’t like and the ham was quite fatty. It does state on the menu it’s a roll not bread but it didn’t mention brioche- this was a huge issue for my son who has sensory issues. The staff were friendly and efficient, the place was clean and welcoming. I was stunned by how much more expensive it is compared to the other Cafe Ambio.

At the motor museum next door on an awful rainy day felt the need for a warming bowl of soup,on this occasion vegetable, at £7 a bowl it was not cheap but was the best veg soup I have ever tasted in my 80 years, came with a chunk of bloomer bread & lots of butter. We had a pot of tea & a latte. Total price £20.75. The staff were so friendly too & that made a big difference.

Had a spa day down the road so called in for lunch afterwards, had the burger… it was amazing and so were the chips, but £2.75 for a can of pop??? Nearly £9 on three cans, that bit was just pure GREED. We are locals, but don’t agree with the tourist prices of pop. Next time I’d take my own in!!!

Very over priced, £3.95 for a caramel slice that is 4 for £1.20 in aldi. In the cabinet customers side looks like nice homemade but that's not what we got and watching other they got the same very small slice. No prices on the cabinet Food is way over rated and at a restaurant price but a cafe standard. Tea pots need a good clean. Would not recommend for familys as way over priced.

We like coming here and make regular fortnightly visits. Very quiet today but the cafe was warm and welcoming. The young lady serving was professional and polite and we had a lovely latte each. However our cakes were a disappointment. The peppermint shortbread slice had too much peppermint and was too sickly sweet. The eccles cake was tasteless, had little sugar in it and only had about half the filling it needed. The cakes let the cafe down today.

Terrible breakfast, it took so long to be served I was tempted to pass on breakfast and order dinner! when breakfast arrived the bacon was like concreate, The tasteless mushrooms and tomato had never seen a frying pan, possible briefly passed under a grill till warm ! sausage was stone cold, the black pudding was terrible it was like a black slug and tasted how it looked! The toast was a joke as the egg was plonked on top of two bits of bread, supposedly toasted but could not see any sign of toasting with butter on the side! I suspect you are supposed to slide off the egg and attempt to butter your now fat soaked un toasted bred ? Later in the day my pall joined the same que, 25 minutes to the front of the que, he ordered mushrooms on toast. when it arrived four of the same barley cooked terrible tasteless mushrooms plonked on two bits of semi toasted bread with butter on the side with two cups tea cost him £15 "REALY" The staff are first class, but obviously understaffed, the breakfast is a overpriced joke !

It is a pleasant cafe with plenty of room to sit either inside or out. If the weather is nice enough, you can sit and watch the rapid flow of the River Leven, as it tumbles towards Morecambe Bay. I would strongly suggest that you look carefully at the menu first, rather than head blindly into the queue at the counter. Whilst they have some nice things, some of the prices are bordering on extortion. I was sat enjoying my can of diet coke, until I looked at the menu and saw that it had cost £2.50. After browsing some of the other prices, I started to think that this place needed a defibrillator, just in case the odd heart attack happened after viewing the menu.

I have been here before but only for drinks and on one occassion soup. I met up with a friend today and found it much busier than usual. There were quite a few dogs, two of which were on the bench seating with their mouths...

We chose a almondy cumble cake. and coffee. Coffee great but the cake was heavy and quite dry. Dissappointing after a great visit to the museum which is really good.

Did not expect such a nice place - usually cafes attached to museums are dire! But this is different. Quite large, good menu choice, inside and outside seating - with riverside views. Great!

Terrible customer service! The young girl at the till clearly did not want to be there. She was huffing and puffing at customers! Yes, it was very busy as yesterday, 15th October was a beautiful autumn day but I would think they would be glad of end of season trade! I could not sit down because they were so busy so opted to ask for take away coffee and cake, only to be told by her 'I'm not doing take away'. Really? The local co-op is closed for a refurbishment and they really could capitalise on that if they employed more capable, less miserable staff! Shocking!! Won't return!

Called here for a takeaway lunch, used them several times before. Service was disappointing to say the least. Not a please or thankyou from the ladies working in the shop - even when I pointed out they'd only charged me for 1 flat white! Previous reviews also highlight the fact that the staff are miserable, they respond but do nothing to address the concerns raised. Also, I would've thought that as u was the only customer in the shop on a very wet day would have been positive for them - obviously not! Not sure I'll return here.

Visited here with my Dad today. Asked for a tea cake and then a scone both not on the menu anymore. I had a bagel with salmon and cream cheese paid over £8 and that was it no sides, no even a bit of salad - didn’t taste great. Dad ordered pancakes in the end 2 tiny pancakes on a dish - still hungry when we left. Not great service either. Disappointed!

Stopped to have a tea, latte and a slice of carrot cake. Great service and a huge slice of cake that we shared. Great value for money.

Called in for a coffee and snack after our frequent walk along the bay and round back into Arnside. When this first opened I was a little wary as we are used to small intimate tea/coffee shops in Arnside. However this was our second visit and as we entered we were greeted by obviously the front of house guy “David”. Wow does this guy know how to do it Welcoming ,friendly, Northern (always a bonus). Had a lovely coffee and Hubby had a great crisp bacon bun. The vibe in this cafe/restaurant is great., modern but great service. We live quite locally and are encouraged to go in the evening now as well. In our opinion the best restaurants are always about the front of house and Crossfields has it right. Everyone in this place has a great view of our beautiful Morecambe bay.
