Tom is very welcoming visit when ever I can, great food and service, clean and plenty of parking on the London Road to stop and recharge for the day ahead. You will want to visit again.

Smashing breakfast spot. High quality ingredients cooked and served by people that clearly care about what they do. Bring cash to pay rather than card.

Fantastic traditional cafe! As a vegan I often feel like an inconvenience but the team here are great. The chef did things with an avocado I didn’t think were possible!

Visited this cracking little gem with my boys again. As always, clean, friendly staff but above all the food is fantastic. Quality ingredients, cooked to perfection and reasonable prices too. Will continue coming whenever I'm in the area. A+++

Fantastic proper old school English cafe! Perfect for people who want that old school cafe vibe where the food does the talking. I had a massive full English’s breakfast - good quality - piping hot and was only £9!! The owner was very friendly as well!

Went there having been to a local shop, which had recommended us. My partner had an extremely well-cooked fry-up, with good portions made from quality ingredients. For the first time in ages, managed to get a cheese roll made with slices of cheddar cut from a block, and not that crumbly stuff that falls out as soon as you take your first bite! Drinks were excellent. I cannot praise this find enough. I live 120 miles away, but would recommend Cafe 316 to anyone.

We were in Westcliff so my husband could buy a keyboard at Allegro music(on the same road).After our drive from London we needed a fuel stop,what a great find! I had a jacket potato and hubby had a toasted cheese sandawich,chips,washed down with an excellent latte. The owner is very friendly too! worth the 47 mile drive!

Visited 316 again with the family, this is a nice little cafe with a good varied menu. The children's meals are a good size portion and they all love eating here whenever we pass through. The food is always top notch and the smokey bacon is absolutely amazing 🥰 The owner is a lovelly fella and always makes us feel welcome. There's a nice outdoor dining area to sit when the sun is shining too. Prices are good and quality of the food and service spot on, thank you.

Fantastic value for money. Whilst earwigging I heard that Tom runs this place by himself. He takes your order at the table and then gets cooking! Despite this the service was still super quick and friendly! My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and the cafe itself is nice and bright and welcoming. Added bonus, there is paid peaking very nearby, as street parking is a bit of a nightmare in this area! Hope to be back again soon 😊

I’ll be honest, I very rarely leave reviews, however I just have to leave one for Cafe316! It’s an Absolute Gem of a cafe that ticked all the boxes for me: delicious breakfast, fantastic value, great menu choice, spotlessly clean (and I really do mean spotless), and all in such a bright, friendly, welcoming atmosphere! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I popped in with my mum for a late brunch...where we were warmly welcomed by Tom the owner/chef. We each went for the small cooked breakfast and a cuppa. The ingredients were real quality... meaty sausage, thick slice of bacon, fried egg which had a bright yellow yolk (sign of a fresh egg!), baked beans and sautéed mushrooms...and we went for the cheeky slice of fried bread option 🤫 It was all served piping hot on a warmed plate and no grease in sight on our finished plates! We were made to feel so welcome we stayed for a second cuppa and are already planning our next visit back!

Went in for breakfast. This place should get 6 stars, for 2 reasons: 1. I just missed their early bird breakfast but the owner said 'No problem, I can do that' 2. When the food came, the plate had been warmed. Don't get that in Greasy Joe's Caff. It was just a small breakfast; sausage, hash brown, egg, bread and butter and cup of tea. Total cost £3.00 Yes, that's right, £3.00 The food was very enjoyable, freshly cooked. The surroundings were bright and clean and the owner was very pleasant. All good. So, 6 out of 5!

We visited for lunch, and were pleasantly surprised by the friendly greeting and the news that all food was freshly cooked on the premises. I had one of the nicest chicken curries outside of a curry shop! It was lovely. The coffee was excellent, and with a free refill, always dear to my soul! Thank you for a lovely lunch, I'll be back.

Literally the best breakfast Iv ever had. Great tasty sausages. Would definitely recommend and would come again.

My husband, my son and I fancied going somewhere for lunch. We didn’t want to go far and it just so happens that this place is really near us.. So we thought we’d give it a go! When we arrived quite a few tables were occupied which is always a good sign.. The gentleman that works there was very friendly. Must say I was a little overwhelmed by the menus.. There was a lot to choose from! Ended up going for a breakfast. I did enjoy it. I’ve had better elsewhere but I’ve also had much much worse that cost a lot more. Even hours later I’m still full! So it didn’t disappoint.

We have visited a few cafes all over but this cafe is by far the best. The owner is happy, polite, charming, witty, always up for a good conversation. The food is always cooked to a very high standard, cooked from fresh. The presentation is outstanding. Great food, great price with an amazing host. Highly recommend. Sue and Gaz

El hombre que nos sirven y supusimos dueños del lugar, era increíblemente educado y amable, y nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. La comida era adorable, especialmente teniendo en cuenta el precio - estábamos apurados relativo y era exactamente lo que necesitábamos. Comer allí en cualquier momento.

Lovely, quiet little cafe within easy access of both Southend and Leigh. Great value, service and exceptionally good American style breakfast pancakes - will certainly be going back in future!

I ws going to be good when I walked into the cafe (just having a coffee), but when I saw they did doorstep sandwiches with smoked back bacon I could not resist. i was not disappointed - it was very filling and the crust of the bread was crusty and it was very fresh. I had also to persuade my friend that she wanted to eat something - she had a croissant and butter (plenty of it) and a cup of tea and her mum had a poached egg on toast. I know from experience that to produce a perfect poached egg is not always easy - to get the yolk nice and runny and the white cooked thoroughly. We this egg was a perfect poached egg with a golden runny yolk and a white fluffy white! The gentleman who was the cook was friendly, efficient and the premises is very clean. A great little cafe.

Good food at a good price. English breakfast was ordered and came quickly. Person working there was polite. No complaints.

Este es ahora mi café regular local para comer. La comida es increíble, el caballero corriendo siempre es educado y amable, y nada es demasiado problema. Siempre nos parecen ir en cuando está tranquilo, así que siempre terminan teniendo una conversación encantadora con él. Nunca en ningún otro sitio :).

Found this little cafe on a win Lovely friendly service straight away. The food was absolutely amazing it was so clean not greasy at all presentation was good and quality food for cheap prices defiantly visiting again

Nice cafe, staff helpful, had high chair which looked brand new which is important when your lil one is eating off it. Was also pleased to see a baby changing facility. Very family friendly. The owner even rearranged tables so I could fit my double buggy in. Would go back

Great cafe and so friendly Tom is a great cook I highly recommend this cafe to anyone and if you have a family he is fantastic, such a nice owner, you can see you he love his cafe and all his customers.When me and my wife was there on our first visit there was no highchair and said can you please buy one and great customer service he got a some highchair in the cafe now.Keep up the great work you do :)

We visited the cafe 316 thursday on hearing of the good food and we wasnt disappointed, the wife had ham egg and chips and i had the big breakfast and both meals were very good real pork sausages tasty fried eggs the whole deal and i was well and truly full also the good wife had said it was very tasty good food welcoming host and average price so no complaints

I recently moved to Leigh on sea and stumbled across Cafe 316 whilst going to Southend. As mentioned by other reviewers, the food especially the full English breakfast are cooked to perfection. The cafe attracts a friendly clientele, however Tom the owner makes your visit memorable. He is welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, also the menu is extensive and can be tailored to your requirements. Cafe 316 is impeccably clean, a great find and Tom's customer service will have me returning . Deserves to be successful, this is how a business should be run.

Only come back to southend every so often to visit family and when I am here I always look for the old school English breakfast.This place was a quality find, clean cheap and excellent food. Such good value and an owner who seems to be dry passionate about the food.Will definitely come here each time I am back.

Ive been to cafes all over England , enjojing the delights of a full English breakfast,The food in this café is good, but what does it for me, is the owners customer service skills. Nothing is too much trouble, have you food cooked how you want, complimentary 2nd tea or coffee, and in January there was a 25% sale on breakfasts.unheard of. This place is just quality.

Happy regular customer. Great food at great prices. Best curly fries in town too. Always polite, friendly and the place is always clean.

This is a super cafe where the owner Tom is friendly and cooks great food. His breakfasts are delicious and never greasy. It's always a treat to visit there and know that there is always a good meal to be had. The menu is varied and nothing seems to be too much trouble. It's always a joy to go back there.

My kids loved the milkshakes made with ice cream!And the bacon sandwiches, what can i say. It was yummy, made with proper thick freshly sliced bread, then with kethcup and brown sauce - heaven!

im very happy that I decided to stop in on my way to the train station!I decided to settle on the American pancakes and an orange juice and was not disappointed. The food was beautiful, filling and for an unbelievably good price.Will definately be back soon and would encourage anyone in Southend or west cliff to visit, especially since it's barely a ten minute walk from Southend centre

We found this hidden gem whilst out and about as a family and decided to stop by for lunch.It has an extensive menu for both adults and children alike, with deals to be had. My son settled on the stack of American pancakes complete with syrup and bacon and my god they were lush! The husband had his typical full English, it was fresh, tasty, hot and served at our table. It went down a treat.There's a full array of teas and coffees and home made cakes which after being given samples ; were found to be delicious.When we go back we'll be trying the 'create your own' burger option and it will be soon. A lovely little place, clean and fresh with a home made menu and a lovely new owner called Tom.We'll be back soon for sure.Thanks again, the Venn family
