Cafe 21 at Fenwick in Newcastle upon Tyne

Excelente almuerzo en la semana del restaurante. Amelia la camarera era fantástica. nada era demasiado problema para ella con estar en tu cara. Comida y servicio de primera clase

El almuerzo se echó a perder por el descubrimiento de pelo que sobresale del interior del revestimiento de un artículo de pescado que habíamos pedido en el menú. El costo del artículo fue eliminado de la factura, pero no regresaremos.

Le prometí al gerente que dejaría una reseña después de decirle lo gran equipo que tiene cuando me iba después del almuerzo de ayer... así que aquí va. Encontré este lugar por accidente buscando los baños (! ) y necesitando un lugar para sentarse y relajarse en lugar de tomar comida en el camino, ya que el centro de la ciudad estaba loco ocupado. A pesar de estar bastante lleno el personal era excelente ... atento, amable, profesional y me dieron mi almuerzo muy rápido. Esto es comida decente bistró y me gustó mucho ... nada elegante, pero sabía bien. Eso es todo lo que necesitas, ¿no? Bien hecho equipo, y feliz Navidad!

¡Muy ruidoso con música que no puedes oír! No se permite bajar la música. No se tiene en cuenta a los clientes que tienen problemas auditivos, tengo tinnitus! Qué lástima porque la comida es buena. Pero el café 21 y la pérdida de Fenwick, un montón de café / restaurantes cercanos. Los días de la música de fondo ya pasaron. Yo sí creo que la música es para el personal no para los clientes que mantienen el negocio a flote y los salarios del personal 😓

Tuvimos té / café por la tarde con pasteles / bollos / sarnys, etc. fue lovley. Personal donde brillante. Tuvimos una tarde maravillosa. 👍👍

I ate twice at this place. The food was delicious. The staff is service-oriented, friendly and efficient. The ambiance is elegant. I will definitely go back and can recommend the place.

Nice if unsurprising menu but excellent food. Fairly simple but well done. Prompt, friendly service. Lovely place for lunch if you are shopping in Newcastle. My omelette was superb, my fries hot and crispy and my salad super fresh with a tasty, light vinaigrette. Not keen on the charred (deliberately!) topping on an otherwise very nice cheesecake. Didn’t really add to the taste and left a grainy sensation in my mouth, but my companion enjoyed her share of our portion!

It's been a while since we visited Cafe 21 in Fenwicks. So during a shopping trip in Newcastle we decided to have breakfast. There was lots of choice both hot and cold and decided on a fruit with yoghurt. Whilst I appreciate this is a simple dish, it was really tasty.

Another amazing visit to Cafe 21. Mam and I love coming here, not just because the food is lovely (we both had the fruit salad today) but because the staff are all lovely. A special mention goes to Devon because she always welcomes us like old friends and she really is just a special person. Cafe 21 really are lucky to have her as a team member and we are lucky to be able to come somewhere with such friendly staff.

I've been here a few times recently with my mam and alone. I just feel like I have to sing the praises of all the team but especially Devon. She is an absolute joy and makes every visit one to remember. Devon greets you like an old friend and provides an impeccable service. The coffee and food are great too and Devon has helped with questions I had about smaller portions. I cant recommend Cafe 21 enough. Thank you to all the team for being so welcoming. My mam absolutely loves coming here with me and we are looking forward to our next visit when she is back from Ibiza. 🤣

We both had the club sandwich, it was delicious, the best club sandwich I’ve ever had. Quality ingredients, really tasty and excellent service. The ambiance was relaxing and calm which was perfect in the middle of our busy day.

We often eat at Cafe21 & the Bistro in Fenwick's & thoroughly enjoy not only the food but service & ambiance too - however not today. The first disappointment was the Thai green curry was missing from the menu. The second was the poor burger that I chose. It wasn't particularly large (a small patty). It was overcooked & quite dense and extremely salty. To such an extent my mouth was salty for an age afterwards. I didn't want to create a fuss as my Wife was enjoying her 'look forward to' dish of prawns & spaghetti. Couldn't fault the service! Intersing to note that for a Friday afternoon the Bistro seemed particularly quiet.

Went for brunch on Thursday - really tasty food and friendly, helpful staff who were happy to change poached eggs to scrambled, going off menu. They even checked how we liked our scrambled eggs cooked. Was busy and rightly so.

We went for a traditional afternoon tea for a leaving party. The food was delicious, scones arrived still warm. The hand made cakes and sweets were exceptional. The staff were very attentive and made our visit a memorable one. Well worth the money compared to other venues who charge a lot more.

The afternoon tea was over priced and the food that was on the afternoon tea wasn’t nice. Service was fine but the pricing is ridiculous for what you get.

Excellent food and fantastic service. Fish fingers were incredible have been a couple of times now and it is always service with a smile. Both times i have been served by a young redhead waitress and am always made to feel extremely welcome and always pointed towards something on the menu i would enjoy

It is so disappointing eating at such a nice place such as (Café 21 - Fenwick) with an excellent reputation and then you being met by such dry & grumpy staff. We are not asking for a grinning ppl but at least welcoming staff. The youngest waitress was actually rude! when she served the coffee, she basically threw the cups on the table that it was so close to spill it before she turned and left. The four of us were just in shock that she had been this careless & sloppy. Food was excellent and we enjoyed it. Would we return again? No! For that reason, 3 stars is more than enough .

Terrific lunchtime menu, two courses for £22. The food and service was of a high standard and there was a good selection of drinks. I had the non-alcoholic craft beer. Perfect for a nice lunch when shopping or meeting friends.

We had afternoon tea to celebrate both our birthdays as a gift. The place is clean and sleek. The service was great, with very attentive waitresses. The food was what is expected - Fresh and tasty sandwiches and cakes. We could not finish all the scones, so we had a box to take them home with us. Really nice experience, really well worth it.

I paid £50 for an afternoon tea for two, to get a meal worth no more than £20 AT A PUSH. I was so stunned with the lack of food they gave us so I asked the waitress if what they had given us was for one or two, after which I heard her laughing about what I had said with her colleague. So not only was the food sub-standard, but so was the service. Don’t come here, the staff will laugh at you and you will be overcharged. Attached is what I paid £50 for, not including any alcohol. There are plenty of other places that serve afternoon tea for two that includes more than one of each tiny cake and don’t include rude staff as an extra.

My wife and I had coffees waiting. Abysmal. So pretentious. Almost put off by menu but asked if we could just have coffee and told “of course” Were seated and given menus during which time we actually decided to have more but were totally ignored by both waitresses and the two male staff who were drinking behind the bar. Gave up after 15 minutes and went to a better establishment. Avoid this place unless you take a flask and packed lunch with you.

Very welcome after a day shopping in the cold. Staff were very helpful and very eager to help us select vegetarian options. Relatively expensive - but so worth the experience. Toilets clean.

Have eaten at Cafe 21 at Fenwick several times, always enjoyed the food and this time was no different. We had a glass of wine each, and then went for the 2 course fixed price menu. The staff are always friendly and efficient, the restaurant buzzes as it is nearly always full. The food is always superb. The cost of our meal and drinks came to £54 including a service charge of 10%. Will look forward to using it again.

My favourite lunchtime venue whilst shopping in Newcastle. Great value set menu for £18 for two courses and £21.50 for three courses and plenty of choice. There is lovely bread and butter included in the price which is very moreish. Staff are lovely and always give a warm welcome. Regular menu includes lots of brunch favourites too. 5 star food that doesn't cost the earth.

Very nice breakfast and good portion sizes. We had eggs Benedict and scrambled egg on sour dough bread with sauteed mushrooms.

Popped in for a late brunch while shopping, and got a plate of absolutely delicious eggs Benedict! The service is alright, a little slow, but very friendly. 10/10 going to return, definitely with friends.

El extenso menú ofrece muchas opciones, tres de nosotros tuvimos los champiñones, los huevos escalfados y la salsa holandesa en una tostada, y honestamente puedo decir que estaba perfectamente preparado y absolutamente delicioso. También nos dieron la canasta de tostadas, la tostada de pan de plátano es encantadora y había mucho para dar la vuelta. Totalmente recomendado.

Always the first Port of Call when in Newcastle upon Tyne, nothing to beat Fenwicks full stop...highly recommend the cocktail scones jam and cream.....or Thai Green Curry...full of flavour.

Went to Cafe 21 for a Bacon Sandwich. It was very nice. Both times I asked for a filter coffee it was cold. Service wasn't the best and the chef kept clapping every 20 seconds which was a bit annoying sitting next to the hatch. Apart from that the bacon sandwich was delicious.

My Mum and I came here a few weeks ago on a Sunday for a quick bite and I knew I'd have to come back to properly try the food. I've been this afternoon and wow. Just wow. Possibly some of the best food and service I've ever had. The staff can't do enough for you, they're EXTREMELY polite. Even when it's busy, there's a queue out the café and the staff are rushed off their feet, they still have time for all their customers, don't make you feel rushed. The experience here is literally perfect. I'll definitely be back!

Shopping for new handbag, and needed refreshments before dashing to catch the bus home. I didn’t have enough time for my favourite steak and fries, so quick bacon sandwich and pot of tea. Just the job !

Went to Cafe 21 at Fenwicks for an impromptu lunch on Saturday. It was busy and buzzing! We had the 2 course lunchtime special at £18, not cheap but good food. I had the prawn salad as a starter and polenta and roasted vegetables as the main. Delicious! Great friendly and attentive service. Recommended!

My friend and I have dined here a number of times and usually I'm quite happy however on this occasion I decided to opt for a lighter meal which was mushroom on toast with a poached egg with hollandaise sauce, on arrival to the table the egg was hard and had burst during cooking I would not have served this however here it was on my plate I alerted the waitress and said my egg which should be soft was hard and had burst it looked awful how it ever got beyond the pass I'm not sure, she apologised and said she would get me another egg I was left with my offending egg some minutes later a soft egg was brought to me with a apology. The waitress was a pleasant lady who was attentive and it is pleasant surroundings.

Just fell on here quite by chance while shopping in Fenwicks. I had the belly pork salad which was pretty damn amazing (see pic).

Lovely food. The pasta and prawn thing is great. Loved the duck but haven't seen that on the menu for a while. The brownie is the best ever.

This is an excellent venue for brunch. The food was gorgeous and the service first class. A bit pricy but definitely worth a visit.

Visited with family and we had a selection of sandwiches, cakes and hot drinks. It was fairly easy to find a table and food was quick in coming
