Caesars in Caerphilly

Visited with my two daughters for lunch before going to the cinema opposite. Menu may seem a little pricy at first glance for a local cafe but the big portions mean good value for money. Very friendly staff, good service, clean and inviting atmosphere and I liked the variety on the menu.

Visited Caesars with my nieces for breakfast. Staff were all really welcoming and table service was excellent. Great menu with something for everyone. Will definitely be back 👍🏼😃

Ham roll was dry and never worth the money . Very small cup of Luke warm coffee . Cost £11 they couldn’t wait to get me to pay .

Ordered a jacket potato with tuna mayo and a coffee. I didn't look at the price until the waitress presented the card machine showing a total of over £11.00 to pay. I queried the cost of the jacket potato and was told it was £9.00!!! Needless to say I cancelled the order and left. I know prices have increased recently but how can they justify that!

Best place to Marvin Blackwood the staff are lovely and they have a great selection of food to choose from

Went here for breakfast recently. The cooked breakfast is nearly £10 and for that price it was awful. The cheapest sausages, like you get in a chip shop (yuk!). Bacon dry enough to resole your shoe. Everything dripping in oil and black bits all over the hash browns, probably due to old cooking oil. The place also needed a really good clean. We sat in the conservatory and it was quite dark due to all the dirt, grime and moss on the roof. Will be going elsewhere in future.

Absolutely disgusted at the way we was treated by the staff they gave us 2 fake five pound notes when we tried to explain to them they was very aggressive and accusing us of giving them it they one member of staff was moved out of the way by another member of staff as she was so aggressive, the manger came out when we explained that there was no Big Ben on there we was lying , they then went talking to other customers complaining about us I will definitely not be going back as staff are very rude and aggressive not a friendly place at all

Beautiful food, fantastic service staff are all friendly and nothing to much trouble to them they are very helpful. Been coming here for years would not go anywhere else. Five stars off me and my family.

Visited Ceasers to get myself some breakfast for lunch but little did I know I would have a life changing experience like no other. I ordered my food with an orange juice, but an orange juice I did not receive. When questioned I was told “I didn’t put it through” and realised that sometimes in life mistakes happen, dwelling on them won’t change what happened no matter what you do. When I received my food (a delicious breakfast baguette) it came with a little pot of beans, alas, I was left bereft of any cutlery. What was I to do? Something primal awakened in me and I realised that we are but mere specks in the grand tapestry of existence, why SHOULDNT I eat the beans with my bare hands? What cosmic law dictates that I need to use tools created by the hands of other people to do something I can do with my own two mortal hands. Oh and the food was great and a decent price, would eat again

A welcome departure from the bland chain owned coffee shops that seem to be dominating the high streets ( while they still exist that is). The coffee is good but the staff are even better. A great cafe one which a small town like Blackwood should cherish

I love Caesars, I go there every two weeks for breakfast and an Americano. Even a small breakfast is a decent portion. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Well worth a visit.

Super welcoming and friendly with a surprising vegan menu and lots of choice. Really happy we had breakfast there and recommended it to colleagues working in the area.

My son and I were in Blackwood early to do a couple of things and I suggested breakfast at Caesars. It was great! My son went for a bacon sandwich, while I opted for a chicken and mayo sandwich. A fab experience and we will be back!

Caesar is ok for snacks ie coffee and sandwiches but fine them expensive for anything else. Suggest going for the specials which would be best value.

Been going here for years untill the portions got smaller and the prices shot up. Its the same old story and a graet shame. Profit first, customers treated like CATTLE!!

Had breakfast here this morning . Wasn't very impressed at all toast was nice . Bean cheap n nasty eggs were awful . A lack of care in cooking them was evident . Lattes overpriced and cookie was hard . Better food at mckenzies down the street . Also prices are always different although we order same food .

This is a regular weekly meeting for me and my friends. It is conveniently positioned in the high street for car parking and the bus station. The staff are friendly and the coffee excellent.

I always pop in whever I am in Blackwood. Sometimes for a cake and a cuppa or salad at lunchtime. The staff are very good and chatty. Very welcoming ambience, food always lovely and fresh.

Visited a few times and the food has always been good, also the freshly made coffee is very good.The prices are above most of the other cafes in Blackwood and are expensive compared to most but the food is good.

After reading a review from a customer that visited your cafe on the 4th Dec I thought I'd update my review from 17th march. They had a good experience but mentioned they had to ask for their change. I also was given no change but put this down to them being busy. I always leave a tip if food and service good but that is a choice I'd like to make myself and choose the amount I want to give. I was peeved over this and next time I would definitely ask for it back. There will be a next time as thorough enjoyed the experience. Excellent food and staff

Caesars is in the main drag in Blackwood and as we were going to the excellent cinema, but were a tad early, we thought we’d grab a bite to eat.There are a few nice looking eateries in Blackwood, but we came across Caesars which is just across the road from the cinema.The place was buzzing when we got there - it’s obviously a popular place. The staff are super friendly, the coffee is lovely (my other half said her mocha was one of the nicest she had ever had), and the food delicious and all freshly prepared. The prices are pretty good too.We enjoyed our stay at Caesars so much, we decided to have a second coffee each - something which we rarely do. It’s a really nice, relaxed and friendly place and we will be going back.

My partner visited this morning to pick up two chicken baguettes for our lunch. The lady behind the counter was incredibly rude and told him that ‘apparently’ they now only serve baguettes of the day .. meaning you can only purchase one type of baguette that day. I’m sorry, but this is completely ridiculous, I’m quite sure the whole population of Blackwood will not want one type of baguette all day. We even offered to pay extra to have said chicken baguette and were refused. The menu still advertises all types of baguettes/sandwiches too!? A shame as we probably won’t bother coming here again!!

Ceasars is genuinely the best cafe in the area. They serve a great range of extremely well priced and delicious food. The friendly staff guarantee a warm welcome and always take the time to chat to me and my daughter whenever we visit for some "daddy/daughter time"Although the seating is limited and sometimes very busy, I would recommend a visit to anyone.Best cafe bar none.

Best café in Blackwood Salads are fab, Great choice of hot and cold food paninis ,sandwiches, curries highly recommended.

If you don't mind walking walk through clouds of smoke coming from the smokers sitting right out side the door, and if you are prepared to stand and wait for a seat which are quite limited owing to it being such a small space, although there is another seating area downstairs which is totally unsuitable if you have any mobility problems the meals are average, staff are friendly, reasonably priced

Great warm reception and very friendly staff. Not a large place however I really like the decor and there is a good range of reasonably priced food and drinks available. If you are in Blackwood, it’s worth a look.

Both had a small breakfast, what a let down the eggs were as stated "free range" but the rest was cheap and nasty, lots of local butchers for good source but not here. It's a shame because it could be a lot better if they gave the food a bit of love.Oh they take your money up front as well very trusting, more like afraid of repercussions if anyone complains... VERY SAD

Tried this place out of curiosity but wish i didnt bother. Even though it was fully staffed- at least 7 on a Saturday morning, had to wait good while for order to be taken. Only when i asked about ordering was we served- should have seen it as a bad omen then and left but didnt. Coffee arrived first then 10 mins+ our breakfast.....definitely not worth the £6 we paid. Had to return it straight away as beans were freezing cold, completely spoilt it for me but ate it due to price we paid.Paid and left and wont return, rather pick up a pastie from Greggs!!!!

Chose this place for a breakfast meeting with a friend over another one up the lane in Blackwood as it seemed much friendlier cafe.The staff was good and accommodating in taking our breakfast order. Made me think about the clientele at this place when the waitress wanted me to pay upfront for our order.The place has extra seating downstairs and on the whole was clean and tidy. The breakfast cooked consisted of the usual bacon, egg, mushroom, baked bean etc.I was expecting whole mushrooms, but had sliced ones and the grilled tomato instead of having baked beans came in slices rather than what a lot of places serve as half of a tomato. I found that the bacon was on the dry side and I suppose it was precooked and kept warm, but I could be wrong in my observation.On the whole the two breakfasts we had were of reasonable quality. The cafe had a good atmosphere with good seating area with a mixture some sofa seats and tabled areas.Nice place to dine and a meeting place. I would return and recommend this place.

My partner and I eat here at least once a week and it is a tradition we won't be giving up any time soon. Staff are always friendly and very efficient, they actually look as though they enjoy their work which I love. Seating areas are very comfortable and my partner enjoys reading the newspaper provided every time we visit. Prices could come down a little but are not too bad. Food is always well presented and very appetising. I recommend the chicken tikka, the curry or the toasted club sandwich which I had today! Keep up the great work Caesars!

Sausage sandwich with coffee. As if someone had just slapped it on a plate-Need to go to Spain or Italy and take some tips on how to present a simple sandwich to make it look appetising.Overpriced for what it is.There are better more reasonably priced venues in Blackwood for good food.

Dying for a quick cuppa while shopping in Blackwood.The Costa outlet on the main street was full to bursting, so we walked down the road a short distance and found Caesar's .We found a seat, and were pounced on by a very enthusiastic member of staff who was very friendly and helpful.Our drinks arrived and we sat and enjoyed them while watching a very busy cafe /restaurant operating at full capacity.The food that was delivered around us looked delightful and everyone seemed to be having a great time.All the waitresses were smiling and chatting to their respective customers and gave the impression of loving what they were doing.When we paid for our drinks we were offered a loyalty card, which we gladly accepted as we will return in the not too distant future, maybe next time we will sample some of the food on offer from a pretty comprehensive menu.Move over Costa.

Positives - Real meat used in the sandwiches and not processed (my pet hate). I had the Caesars Club sandwich and found it just ok. The chicken and gammon as mentioned was good. However not gammon filled like as advised in the photos on the wall in the shop?. Negatives of the sandwich - Overloaded with oily cheese and too much mayonnaise which spoilt it for me as good as the meat was, it overpowered it's taste and my enjoyment. The side of coleslaw was good. Pringles are a bit pointless. Handful of chips would be preferred but not as an extra because to be fair the sandwich was approx £5.50. The cafe itself is pleasant and clean. Good toilets which is important to me for clean hands. I found the cafe a little expensive compared to Square Cafe for e.g.? I had a bacon, mushroom and cheese toasty with side salad up there for £2.95. Waitress was kind. Would go back maybe for a takeout sandwich or roll specifically made how I want from the cold counter near the door but not in a hurry. Decent cafe but doesn't live up to its good reviews. The go to reason of this place is the fact it's genuine meat used. That's a big deal.

Best coffee in the area, an impressive menu which also offers gluten free options which not many establishments offer in this area. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

We visited Caesars prior to a cinema trip. There was quite a variety of food choices on the menu and the prices reasonable. Fine for a quick snack and the staff were friendly.

It was sunny so we took a table outside. With a vast menu we were spoiled for choice, but eventually settled on Aberdeen Angus Burgers. And we certainly weren't disappointed. The meal was plentiful and delicious. The service was prompt and friendly. I'll be back ...

Visits for lunch and coffee. Staff are fab service is great . Got upstairs and downstairs . Good prices delicious food well presented.

I have made many visits to this cafe over the years, sometimes for just a coffee and other times for food. Whilst the meals are generally of a good standard, this place really needs to improve it's customer service. On today's visit, the waitress asked if we were ready to order as she passed my partner and me the menus. We hadn't even sat down at this point. She returned within less than a minute, and then again almost instantaneously! We both had hot chocolate, which were very good and the meals were also of a reasonable standard. I did think that the curry should have been served with naan bread or a popadum. There also wasn't as much meat as I would have expected in the sauce. In this place you have to pay when you order. I do not mind doing this, but I do object to having to ask for my change. This is not a one-off, because this has happened on several occasions. I am also aware of other people having said this.The main reason I have made return visits is simply because my preferred cafés in Blackwood have had no empty tables. Caesars could be so much better than it is if it worked on improving customer service and maybe lowered prices a little.

Love this place when I come to visit my family. Very friendly service, good size tables laid over two levels. Ordered a large latte and the Christmas Baquette, Turkey, sage and onion stuffing and cranberry sauce. Came with a very fresh side salad and crisps. Would recommend, it is popular and can get busy. Offers gluten free cake too.

Never been in here before. But, friendly staff, quick service and a decent cuppa is what we got. Can't say fairer than that. 😉

After a near 8 mile walk we decided we deserved a coffee and a cake. What better way to do so than by visiting Caesars and trying them out!I had a Cappuccino with a in-house made blueberry muffin than was simply to die for.The staff were very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was just right considering it was a Saturday!I will definitely be visiting again and would rather support a small local coffee shop/cafe than a chain anyday!

My husband and I always g use this cafe. It has a very friendly atmosphere, staff are always fiendly. There is a good range of food always lovely and hot. Their sandwiches/ baguettes are lovely also, I use the credit atleast twice a week

We go there quite often and the food and drink is always tasty. Service is reasonable.Although on the High Street, there is ample parking around the back although there is a charge depending the length of the duration.

The food was great and reasonably priced. The service was excellent with the staff very polite and friendly. The loos were clean and adequate. The atmosphere was relaxed and good. Downstairs you can get wi-fi. Newspapers were available. What more do you want?

excellent food, brilliant service, hot and cold meals, cakes, desserts etc served at very reasonable price and big portions. I always have a salad and it is always served nicely and always struggle. Always busy as on the high street, but plenty of room for all.

We always head for Caesars cafe when in Blackwood shopping. It's well price, great service from the staff, who are always friendly. The food is good, it's a box standard menu, done to a good standard, so can't complain. It's always clean, with newspapers on hand to read with you morning coffee. We will be back again. Mike

It's nice to go to a stress free costa. Served straight away. Staff are really friendly and so clean and I can sure you all I've tested them all. There's always clean tables plenty of room. ..keep up the good work.. Don't listen to negative comments people just got no patients. :)

Food is excellent, good quality products, and decent prices. Staff great, sit in service and excellent take out too.

From the outside it's just another cafe but step inside and there are tables out back and downstairs, we had to go down to get a table for four. The order was taken quickly and efficiently and arrived after a short wait. Two pulled pork buns with BBQ sauce, a two ham salads, the pulled pork needed something with it and a portion of chips were shared, without the chips the dish would have been lacking substance. Saying that the ham salad was very generous in size. Cost was less than £30 with soft drinks. It's not an unpleasant place to eat but don't expect fine dining.

Arrived around 2 and had to wait for a seat. The waitresses are constantly buzzing round and quickly got us seated. The fare is typical cafe stuff but with some fancier dishes and drinks. It arrives hot and is very good. Portions are big and service very fast.

Good basic lunch food. Nicely presented and waiting staff are helpful and quick. It gets a bit busy lunchtime so you sometimes have to wait a little while for a table during peak time.

Nice little cafe with nice food, not the cheapest cafe I've been to but you pay for what you get. Service has been good every time I've been there.

A flavourless, pricey gingerbread latte, was the first disappointment, followed by tasteless curry and rice slapped on the plate. £7.95 for the curry a little naan or anything to cheer the meal up would have sweetened the price. I won't be returning. The lovely, friendly blonde waitress was the nicest part of the experience.

The sandwiches are all freshly made and I have never had anything but ultra fresh bread ! Perfect ! Breakfast is so good as well !

Popped in for lunch in the week with my mother and was lucky enough to find a table available upstairs as the space is very limited. Had to wait a while before being offered a menu and when we were asked for our order we were asked to pay immediately at the table. Never had this anywhere else before and thought it was odd. We didn't wait long for the food which was very tasty. A turkey, cranberry and stuffing baguette with side salad and 3 pringles! We had finished eating but still had full cups of tea when another waitress came to the table to ask if she could clear the plates away to which we agreed, no problem, but then she asked if we had finished with our teapot. Is that poor service? Both my mother and I immediately felt that we were being rushed, we couldn't believe it. We were still drinking our tea. I was so glad I hadn't left a tip when ordering. Plus upon leaving, there were quite a crowd of people in between us and the entrance and I had to stand aside to wait for people to pass. At that moment a waitress was being handed some food at the counter and as she turned she almost walked in to me and gave me a horrible look. No apology, excuse me or anything. I thought the majority of the service to be really bad and I will not be going back.
