Always liked this placed, only left because they got rid of their Beer on the pull,now this has been reinstalled,its Butty Bach at present, I have returned, always a good sociable crowd to be found here ,especially when there is some decent sport to watch ,cant comment on food as i believe only Sunday Lunch is now served ,Cheers, K

Food was ok but the owner and regulars don't make anyone feel welcomed, owner sits at the bar staring at patrons and will skip all songs on the jukebox that are bought using the app or not bought by a regular.

Although we were there under sad circumstances (a wake) the food and atmosphere were superb

We had Sunday lunch which was excellent…a choice of 5 meats, served with 4 veg and new potatoes, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, stuffing, and hone made your shire puds! Ample gravy too. Very tasty and enjoyable. Service was friendly and prompt, desserts were generous. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Cannot say enough about this pub. Went the extra mile to cater, and it was absolutely bang -on ! Will be back soon!

After hearing so many speak highly about the Sunday lunches at the Tyler's Arms, Nelson - it was inevitable that it was next on the list of places to try out. As a family we have eaten in a few pubs/restaurants around the local area and more often than not its not something to write home about. After working in the catering industry for 15years I'm not easily pleased and can often find criticism. Qué the menu... Stuffed lamb breast, lamb, beef, chicken, turkey and pork. Roatie potatoes - crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle. New potatoes in their skins, a huge homemade Yorkshire pudding, Seasonal veg - ours included, cabbage, swede, carrots, peas and sprouts And the tastiest cauliflower cheese (at an additional cost) The gravy was homemade, tasty and plenty of it!!! - a boat of gravy per person!!! The portion size is not to be sniffed at, and if that wasn't enough, then onto the dessert board. Salted caramel cheese cake, sticky toffee pudding or apple crumble - all served with a side of cream, custard or ice cream!!! Very reasonably priced at only £12.95 a dinner and £4.95 for dessert!! To conclude - out of alot of places we have visited this is now in the top 3 for impeccable service and delicious food!!

I was here last Saturday for a family reception of 40, the food was plentiful and very tasty. Gary and the team were very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend this pub, and fully intend to visit them next time I’m in the area, hopefully on a Sunday, I’ll book in for a roast dinner.

We had a reception for over 40 people at the Tylers Arms in Nelson today. The food and the staff were absolutely fantastic. A real diverse menu catering for everyone's needs to an extremely high standard. They couldn't do enough for us. Thoroughly customer focussed and very affordable. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone. Thank you for making our day so enjoyable.

The Tylers Arms did the catering after my Mother and Fathers interment. They catered for about 40 guest. The food was outstanding and the service was first class. Gary and the team really looked after us all and had no problem catering for a diverse audience, the vegan option was superb. We were all made thoroughly welcome and had a great time. Professional, customer focussed and affordable. I would highly recommend the Tylers Arms to anyone. Thank you for making our day a real celebration.

Went with family - service was friendly and the Sunday not over priced. Yorkshire pudding were very over cooked small plate but you get what you pay for. Nice choice of 3 meats, good selection of veg but swede and cabbage not drained properly and very watery. Not go back for Sunday lunch but others in the family would!

Had Sunday lunch here last month.was delicious.fresh veg,juicy beef and fab gravy very good value for money.cant wait till next time the Tyler's is a lovely pub.

Very good food , the Sunday roast was the best I have had in the area..Meat was lovely and so many different veg served.Yorkshire and roasties perfect..all 14 adults plus kids enjoyed not 1 bad point..we will be back!

1st time to go there tonight, lovely clean and tidy pub and the barmaid was the best I have ever seen. She was literally bringing you the pint to the table as you were finishing your pint. Top Draw service 👍

27 june 2021 sunday lunch a welcoming return to the Tyler's arms me and my partner have been looking forward to this pub serving food again soon as we found out we booked so glad we did same warm welcoming polite staff covid restrictions in place two beef dinners. plenty of veg carrots cabbage potatoes roasted and boiled peas parsnip and plenty perfectly cooked roast beef tender loads of flavour topped of with proper gravy booked for next sunday me and my partner are glad gary the owner has started serving sunday lunch again

Great atmosphere and well stocked beers, ciders and wines.

Booked a family meal here to celebrate a birthday. Was nice atmosphere and pint my food was nice but my wife who was pregnant at the time had chicken and as she cut into it the middle was still raw so we asked to send it back staff was very polite but the waitress came back with the chicken saying the chef said "that's how its ment to be cooked" no other option was given either eat it or dont. We didnt end up paying for that meal. Was a shame as it was nice place and vibe. Would return for a drink but not food.

Been there a lot there good parking at the side and back. Good food and a drink.you can book a Function such as birthdays etc. Phome them and ask to make sure.

Had the light bites menu, corned beef pie but it was nothing like a light bite, large pie, hand cut chips and jug of gravy, Mrs had faggots. 2 meals for a tenner, bloody bargain

All meals were piping hot, cooked to our liking. One steak was cooked well and the other medium-well and they were both beautiful. Proper home made chips. Excellent value for money. Will most definitely be returning.

Best pint in Nelson and good food

Nice staff and really nice looking restaurant, was impressed. However the meal was extremely poor, the steak pie was just a pie you would buy in a fish and chip shop

Been here 3 times and each time I have not been blown away by the food served. I recently visited as a group of 15 and a lot of the dishes were either cold, dry, burnt or given 4 chips. The staff was friendly and accommodating in relation to the food. The atmosphere was ok and prices for food are reasonable, however, for drinks it is a different story.

Absolutely beautiful beef melts in your mouth. veg stunning and gravy thick and delicious. Good value for money friendly staff highly recommended x

Went twice to The Tyler's for mid week lunches and both were really good and great VFM. Had a Sunday Lunch one week which was good and returned 3 weeks later. What a difference it was, putting it mildly awful. We both had Lamb which was just the pieces left after carving a joint of meat. Roast potatoes badly cooked carrots not cooked and 1 boiled potato. But worse of all was the gravy !! It was like coloured water with an oily greasy slime around the edge of the gravy boat. Should have sent both meals back but decided to struggle and eat what we could. Have heard there is a new chef well please get the old one back. I know the people at the Tylers and hate putting derogatory remarks but I say what it is. If it's good I praise and recommend but criticise when it's bad sorry owners

Still sat here as I’m writing this the atmosphere is brilliant warm cosy and welcoming staff our server is really good nothing is too much trouble and food was out of this world I want the recipe for the sauté potatoes will be returning and I highly recommend 5* I had the asparagus and Stilton pie hubby had a stacked burger 😍

1 star Is being nice, went there Saturday night for a meal for 15 of us, the bar was a little busy but the dining side wasn't, food started coming out with one waitress bringing one meal at a time, my food was placed down and the chips were stone cold which was sent back straight away, my other half ordered lamb shank and it came with chips when it stated creamy mash. My brother in law had burger and chips and there was only 7 chips on the plate(literally we counted) 3 members of the family had hunters chicken and the cheese was so burnt on top it was snapping! One of us had the mix grill and it was so over done he had it wrapped to take home to his dog, most of us had our meal but two and she came out and said that we are waiting on chips being cooked, I finished and the two guys meal still didn't come out. Me and my partner paid and left. We've been here a few times before in the past and it was lovely! Saturday night was an absolute shambles wouldn't recommend this place at all!

Great for watching the game yesterday

Had an amazing meal at The Tyler's this evening. The food was superb, and presented beautifully. The staff were fantastic too. But a special thanks to the young lady who was out waitress (unfortunately we didn't get her name) she went above and beyond for us and is a credit to your establishment!!! Thank you ☺

We visited on Wednesday for lunch, again fabulous meal and Home made chips! Lovely family run pub, very busy and great atmosphere. The music playlist took me back to my younger years which was fabulous! Keep up the great work!

Again had Sunday lunch and again it was wonderful just gets better. Always nice and hot and nothing is to much trouble for all the staff and they were very busy but and still have a smile and asking if there anything more we wanted . Nice buzz in this pub

Lovely night out for food for mam in law bday. fresh home cooked food steak cooked to perfection. Had lovely homemade soup to start. And Prawn cocktail both beautiful. home made chips lovely. Highly recommended great atmosphere and friendly staff, reasonable prices.

Had sunday lunch there today for the first time and it was GORGEOUS!! Everything was cooked beautifully and the staff are amazing too! Very friendly pub with a great atmosphere. Ill be making it my new local!!

My husband and I were lucky enough to have a Sunday dinner today up the Tyler's made between the 2 chefs (one of which is new) and the amazing girls in the kitchen! Lovely service at the bar beforehand for drinks and had our table for Sunday dinner. Option of 4 meats and could even mix which was a lovely choice. The vegetables were lovely and fresh which came on a serving dish. Yorkshire, stuffing, roast potatoes and parsnips with meat on plate. Plenty on offer and the gravy was stunning. Thanks to the Tyler's look forward to returning with the family next time. Just about had room for dessert. Two special boards and when could finally make the choice I wasn't let down. Amazing food! Great service with a lovely atmosphere. 5 stars!!!

Called in last week off chance . They had a 2 for £10 lunch which was great value and really nice. I had Cod Bites (which was 2 decent pieces of fish) in a thin crispy batter served with homemade chips peas and salad. It was lovely and fresh nice and hot. My Mrs had Corned Beef Pie Chips peas and gravy again homemade which again was really good. We cannot wait to return and would recommend to anyone fantastic value. Not a huge selection but hey it's lunchtime also going to try their Sunday Lunch soon !!

Decided to pop in the Tylers on the spur of the moment for a drink and a bite to eat, they sorted us out with a table for five with minimal fuss, our server was pleasant and was happy to advise on the food, so with four chicken curry's and a burger ordered we sat in anticipation, We eat out quite a lot and as a rule there are very few English establishments that can serve up o popodom which isn't hard as nails with the taste of cardboard these were really quite really good and served with the best chips ever ! The curry was rich tasty and plentiful and certainly went down a treat.

Had previously visited for Sunday lunch which was excellent. Today's light lunch was awful. We had the ham, egg and chips. The ham was rubbery and the chips were greasy and soggy. Altogether a big difference from our previous visit.

Arrived for a Sunday lunch and was shouted off site by what I imagine was the owner. Politely asked if they were serving food and they ignored the question. Super hostile for no reason.

First visit for most of us and we all agreed that we would be going again. Very good food.

Service was slow with food at best just barely average .... one warmed up roast potatoe 1 boiled potatoe microwaved Yorkshire bland cabbage carrots and tinned peas.... won’t be in any hurry this century to return

Out first visit here. I cannot understand why this refurbished pub selling excellent pub food is not listed in Trip Advisor. I had Rib Eye steak cooked to your liking ~ medium rare - with all the trimmings PROPER chips lovely onion rings tomatoes and mushrooms. My wife had Corned Beef pie chips and gravy !!! All very good not overpriced ~ just good value. They have offers for lunch 2 mains for £12. Nice surrounding ~ modern tables and chairs very comfortable. It is said the Sunday Lunch is remarkable value ~ we haven’t yet tried that

Lovely family run pub in Nelson South Wales, Great food very clean and tidy place with lots of parking. Food was excellent Pub food with very good choice and great standard. Staff very friendly and a lovely atmosphere all round. Came for dinner with my family and they easily seated all nine of us, and the food all came out together Hot and correct as ordered
