Best cup of coffee we’ve had anywhere for quite a long time! Two strong flat whites made with good quality coffee, Hard to find.

Nice ice cream - good selection of flavours and friendly staff. Prices pretty average for an ice cream cafe. We sat outside - there was a bit of a wasp issue due to full bins nearby at the end of the day. The only reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is that one ice cream had a hair in it. If you’re sitting outside you get cigarette smoke and vape fumes so I’d recommend indoors if it’s available, or cross the road and sit in the lovely park opposite.

A company that will not accept cash is not a user friendly outfit and using the excuse that cashless payments are "cleaner" as given to a previous reviewer is pandering to TPTB . A cashless society is to be feared not welcomed.

Called in for an ice cream on a hot day whilst I was in the area. Lovely staff who took care of my allergy request. Had a dairy free vanilla ice cream and it was gorgeous

I wonder who's benefit this shop is run for, the customers or the staff. In fact I know its the staff. No toilets, no cash payments and eating in is prohibited from 4pm onwards even though it is open until 5pm, this is so the staff don't have to clean up near to home time. With such customer service I will not be returning, absolutely pathetic.

Cannot comment on quality or service as didn’t get that far because they don’t accept cash. Spent a couple of hours exploring Betys y coed, had a look at the coffee shops to see which I might prefer, popped my head in this one and then saw the sign cards only so turned round and went to another who were quite happy to accept cash.

We popped in to have a coffee. We were allowed to sit inside with our dog. Which is always good. The coffee/ hot chocolate was very nice & the staff were friendly. But I thought by law if a cafe served food & drink & had more than 10 seats they had to provide a toilet & wash room?. You have to pay 50p to use a scabby public toilet to wash your hands before eating or to use the toilet. Very disappointing!

We stopped by here for a drink. Staff were pleasant. We were sat in the outdoor seating area to the front as was going to have some icecream as they looked really nice. We decided against it due to the amount of wasps around. Turned out, at the end of the outdoor seating area in front of the shops was were all the large industrial waste bins were kept. Plainly inside of the public at the front of the shops/restaurants and next to the outdoor seat area. Although no fault of this restaurant were the bins area, it wouldn't have been relaxing trying to eat ice cream with wasps trying to get to your food like we saw others having issues with.

My husband and I married in North Wales 06 moved to West Wales 20 we have visited Cadwaladers almost every year omitting pandemic. We love it friendly, welcoming, clean, relaxing atmosphere, love the white Hot chocolate. We will keep going too been 4 times this year as we now live so close.

Went here as I knew they catered for gluten free. I asked the lady behind the counter if they did gluten free cones, which they did. She asked if it was for an allergy and I stated I was a coeliac. She informed me that the products were made off site so couldn't guarantee 100% allergen free. She got a fresh box of ice cream from the store room and sterilised the scoper and then handed me the cone. The ice cream was delicious, mint choc chip. Well done calwaladers

Great ice cream, very friendly staff, plenty of flavours to choose from. The only slight downside is the price, at £3 for one scoop it is quite expensive.

Famous and aware winning ice cream with plenty of flavours to choose from most of which are gluten free with plenty of vegan choices too. Creamy and delicious on a warm summers day.

Betws Y Coed is absolutely delightful but the scone I had in this cafe one afternoon last week was the worst I have ever had - it was dry and the texture was like a bit of dry bread. We sat outside, the service was slow and without a smile and the tea came in a paper cup. Not a good experience no not cheap.I never write reviews but felt I should on this one occasion.

Fantastic staff, a welcome retreat after our awful experience at the cafe up the road !!! Lovely ice cream to finish the day before heading off home!

Visited around 6pm on Tuesday, 4th April. Ffion the supervisor greeted us in Welsh when she heard us speak Welsh which I always appreciate. Good service and plenty of ice cream flavours to choose from. Cadwaladers is always a favourite.

I stopped off for a coffee and tea after a long walk today, it was take away only but it was late in the day and we were happy to sit outside anyway. My mocha was one of the best I have had for a long time, my wife said her cup of tea was lovely too. I have had their ice creams in the past which are also awesome

Stopped in Betws after coming back from bounce below , Easy to find and ample parking , Luckily there was no queue so got served straight away, Lovely girl on the counter didn’t catch her name for a shout out , I had a large ice cream 1 scoop of rum and raisen (5/5 ), 1 scoop of cookie dough ice cream (5/5) and one scoop of beaueno (10/5 it was that good!) My daughter had a vanilla ice cream with strawberry sauce , would highly recommend if passing for a day out was just over £8 but was worth it for a treat , Will visit again, also they have a coffee shop with seating area inside. Was nice that they accepted card as i hate places that are cash only

My wife and myself were in Bettws y Coed to do some shopping. Having a bit of time to spare before catching the train back to Llandudno we decided to sit and have a Cadwaladers. Something that we have been doing for many, many, years. I was shocked to find that they now only accept card payments. Have their prices increased to the point where they can no longer accept cash? We left the shop and joined the queue at another ice cream shop a few doors away, which was, unsurprisingly, doing a roaring trade and was not to proud to accept our cash. I find it unbelievable that any business, anywhere, can afford to turn away custom, particularly in a town like Bettws y Coed, which has a highly seasonal trade. If you don't want my cash, with the Queens image on it, it will never be offered again.

Sited adjacent to a clutch of Retail Stores, opposite the main Public Car Park in this small North Wales' Town, this is basically a Coffee Bar with quite an extensive Ice Cream Counter. It is decked-out in a clean and minimalistic Cafe Style. A Selection of Teas and Coffees are available, plus snacks, and of course Ice Cream is a major attraction. Convenient, quick and good Value. Major Credit Cards are accepted.

Went in for a coffee with our dog, we sat outside and ordered 2 coffees and a doggy i e cream (excellent touch by the way) Coffee was good, despite not looking like the picture.

The oap in front of me was told 'oi you can't just walk in' It's like the pandemic just hit here and they are all so scared! Most shops had the same attitude. Get vaccinated and get over it ffs.

We fancied a treat last week when staying in the village for a week. Loved their branch in Criccieth, so decided to go here. We wanted sundaes so wanted to 'eat in'. Not a problem. Covid safe and very, very clean, Lovely, friendly and efficient...

Stopped here for some ice creams and milkshake after our walk last week. The milkshake was large and had no taste, we watched her top the cup up with extra milk because we ordered a large and what was in the blender obviously wasn't enough....

Absolutely overwhelmed with how lovely the staff were at cadwaladers today! A lovely, well mannered young man served us. The ice cream in general was just out of this world but to have great service along with it was just the icing on the cake!...

I had a latte topped with cream which was delicious, and my husband had tea whilst we waited for our coach. The downside was this coffee bar did not have toilets! The only ones nearby are public ones which need up dating and it costs 30p per person to use them. The ices are well worth trying!

We stayed in a local hotel for the weekend,and we had a stroll around the shops one afternoon came across this ice cream parlour. Had two amazing sundaes, massive and gorgeous ice cream and toppings. The young man that served us was really friendly,and attentive made us feel very welcome. We visit betws y coed quite often and will definitely visit this place again.

Called in here for a Cherry and Amaretto Sundae for £6.95. I ordered one of these in Germany recently and it had been fantastic so thought I would try the Welsh version. The staff who served me were friendly and pleasant, and service was quick, but I just felt for the amount you get for £6.95 was not good value. Although it tasted great, there was very little ice cream and even less cherry coulis. I came away dissapointed. Not the fault of the staff but whoever sets the prices needs to reconsider.

What can I say....I was served by a lovely young man called Rich who was very polite and nothing was too much hassle for him. The coffee was lovely and the service was amazing. I will definitely be returning soon!!

This place sells hot and cold drinks plus all different sorts of ice cream to eat in or takeaway. There were several kinds of coffee and only one bog standard tea which we prefer. There were quite a few places to sit but these were filled quickly with coach parties coming in all the time.

Called here for coffee - which was great, really good coffee. But the service was slow and the staff miserable. We were basically ignored for the first few minutes by the young lad making the coffee, no more than a few inches from where I was standing waiting to be served - a young girl eventually came over and served me, but no smile of welcome, or apology for the wait.

A really Yummy holiday ice cream from a Welsh firm and a lovely cup of loose leaf tea! Delicious. 😊😊

This is the first place we visited whilst on holiday for a coffee but we kept coming back! We only tried the sundaes and the ice cream waffles but they were to die for!!!The staff were very friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend coming here.

Called in after struggling to find lunch for one of the gluten free members of the family. Multiple options available to choose from including many GF flavours and a GF cone. Personally would recommend the banana ripple which was wonderfully fresh

My daughter has a bit allergy and we rarely buy ice cream from a counter due to cross contamination. I asked them to wash the scoop (which has been too much for some vendors), and he not only got a clean scoop, but opened a fresh mint choc chip, a fresh flake box and checked the ingredients of the waffle cone. Might not sound like much to some people, but it’s very much appreciated by parents of severe but allergy sufferers. Thank you so much for taking it seriously. Delicious ice cream too!!!

Ordered 2 waffles 1 with m&m;'s 1 plain 2 black forest sundaes a ameretto sundae and coke float £35. Waffles worth the money may be but the rest what a RIP off 1 scoop icecream in each sundae 3 cherries if lucky will not be ordering here again. Can’t fault the product and if we had grabbed a takeaway ice cream this review would have read differently I am sure but we chose to dine in and here the problems began. Ignored while stood at the counter waiting to be served, provided a children’s hot chocolate which was scalding hot and the comment upon receiving my complaint for a scalded tongue was ‘she should have let it cool down’ er no love if you are advertising a children’s product it needs to be suitable for the consumer and the reasonable expectation would be that it isn’t made with boiling milk.

We have been here a few times so no hesitation to pop in there this time but..... The girls behind the counter looked disinterested and fed up. After ordering we sat and waited quite a while then found our spoons were really dirty like they hadn't been washed up but once we pointed this out we had clean ones. Non the less we tucked into our sundaes and the Nutella one was basically a bowl of muffins with virtually no ice cream in. Disappointed.

Stopped here for a coffee whilst visiting Betws, on reading the history of the ice cream business thought I’d try the famous vanilla. Nice waffle cone but I’m afraid the ice cream tasted like it had been kept frozen too long, full of ice crystals and a bit watery in taste. I have certainly had a lot better (and cheaper!). Nice looking desserts on the menu and a few cup cakes on display.

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely coffee and ice cream during a visit to the town, and as part of a coach trip to the area. The young male and female assistants were very polite and caring, ensuring that we were enjoying our food purchases. Would recommend a visit to this shop, to enjoy the food and its' relaxing atmosphere .....

We really enjoyed our ice creams form here, (toffee pudding and honeycomb). Nice selection of ice creams and cones. The staff were friendly and polite and service was prompt.

There was a large array ice creams and sorbets to be had, various cones from basic through to chocolate dipped waffle and sprinkles. Prices not to bad given the choice available. A must on a day out.

We called here for lunch and it was very nice. I had a toasty which was very tasty. The café is in a good location, is clean and tidy and service was very good.

Cadwaladers is a really good stop to visit regardless of who you're with. The Ice cream is really good and there are plenty of different flavours to choose from.

Love cadwaladers use the one in betws most - dad has dementia and he feels comfortable there and staff are very good with him always very helpful and polite especially rich who has served us a couple of times

Visited today with children for icecream sundeas, icecreams are delightful but as we sat inside shop we noticed there was an unusually high number of flies on the ceiling and flying around as this is a cold time of year would not have expected it and it was very off putting!!! Makes the place seem unhygenic!

Called in for a coffee and a knickerbocker glory each. Friendly, helpful staff who looked after us very well. The coffees were excellent and the ice-cream delicious. Noticed that dogs were allowed inside. We left our bulldog in the car as we thought he was a little large to be in the shop although he would have loved the ice-cream

Pleasant afternoon tea in a picturesque location set in the middle of the snowdonia National Park. Lovely food, friendly service and great value. Area is fantastic scenery with breathtaking views

There are lots of different ice creams, cones and toppings to choose from, well worth a visit on a hot or cold day! The only draw back here is the lack of toilets for customers.

Yum yum yum. So many flavours to choose from and at least five different cones to transport your delicious ice cream in. There is a flavour to suit all tastes. I think we went at least three times to this little gem. It does get busy as they are very popular so be prepared to wait but so worth it!

Really lovely venue . Plenty of outside seating in this tourist trap . Ideal for waiting for a coach , train or bus . Great selection of ices . A little expensive but as a tourist spot ! However generous sized ice cream . Doubles up as a coffee bar .

Every time I come here the staff are always helpfull and friendly! Liam is a great member of the team and he makes the best coffees and so does the rest of the team! There should be an award for the coffee here it beats any Costa Nero or Starbucks!! And don't get me started with the glorious ice cream! It's a delight here and a great perfect complement to your day at betws y coed. Thank you to the staff and Liam for all your wonderfull service! Always a treat to come here!

Such a beautiful place with quick, friendly service and a good selection. The vanilla ice cream was almost as good as home made.

Only popped in for a quick coffee and it is very good coffee and the staff were nice and friendly. Would recommend the flat white coffee.

Yesterday my husband and I ordered two large hot chocolates. So what, some of you may think but we both agreed that they were the best hot chocolates that we have ever had!! Perfect for a cold afternoon!!!

We went to Cadwaladers especially for the Ice Creams ! They are fantastic & reasonably priced. Good choice of flavours too.

The day was very wet so we ducked into Cadwaladers as we had read good reviews on here (although there were some mixed). We got a lovely table at the back and from the outset the young lad behind the counter was friendly and courteous and without us asking, when he knew we were just having the one sundae he offered us two spoons. (my wife appetite is not huge).

Stopped for a wonderful Ice Cream from their many choices. Thoroughly enjoyed it even though the service was not very happily given. It was not closing time but the young lad seemed to wish it was. A smile goes a long way to making you feel valued.

We had tea for 2. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. Tea was good with enough for 2 good cups. Thought it a bit expensive at £4.20 for 2 when we have had better on Anglesey the day before. Wasn't too bad as we went there again the day after with a similar experience. location good for the passing folk to and from the long term car park.

We visited here, confident after visiting others in the chain. Sign outside the shop states they're open until 7 but when we went in before 6pm, they were clearly closing up. The staff were less than friendly as they clearly thought us being there was an inconvenience to their getting away early. When we ordered ice cream, we were told that we could only have flavours that they hadn't covered ready for closing!! The whole time we were there, the staff were giving each other looks and rolling their eyes at each other. Such a shame when other branches are so good.

Good variety of ice cream flavours and sundaes - the puddings we selected were nice and chocolatey! You have the option of dining in the cafe or taking away, which is useful. Service was friendly and the prices were fairly reasonable for desserts. Would definitely recommend if visiting Betws-y-Coed.

Can be very busy at times but worth the wait. There is a huge choice of flavours... so many you can't stick to just the one!! There are a choice of cones too . Service is quick and friendly. Full price list clear on the wall so you can make your choice before getting to the counter. A must visit whilst in Betws y Coed.

So many flavours of ice cream, it was hard to choose, we all went for different ones and they were all amazing. Gets quite busy as so many coaches stop in the area but well worth a visit if you can.

The food and drink offer near the public car park in Betws-Y-Coed is a real mixed bag but one highlight is getting an ice cream from Cadwaladers.The friendly and bilingual (Welsh and English) staff are very efficient taking and fulfilling orders. The hardest part is picking what ice cream from the massive freezer display as they have everything from bog standard vanilla to more exotic flavours like coconut.I went for the coconut in a waffle cone which cost two quid which is a decent price for a touristy town like Betws-y-Coed and was delicious. Ice cream in these sort of places can sometimes be cheap and tasteless but not so here as it has a real icy zing to it.My 12 year old is an ice cream fan so she went for the sweet sundae (£4.95) which does what it says on the tin and was delivered very quickly to the outside table we were sat on. Lashings of ice cream with loads of sweets thrown in as advertised but despite her loving the E number fest the portions were so generous she couldn't manage to finish it off. I love ice cream too so it was no hardship but, boy, was it sweet.There’s plenty of inside seating too and the place is very clean despite how busy it is. It is a very popular place but the queues are not massive thanks to the staff’s efficiency and Cadawaladers comes highly recommended for a chill out in all senses.

During our visit to Wales we allready ate a lot of good ice cream. I was often surprised by the quality and flavours. One of the best I ate was at this place. Really good quality and a lot of flavours to chose from. Friendly service to!

I'm nothing if not fair. I gave Cadwaladers in Criccieth 2 Stars but when we stopped here for Ice Cream we got good service, friendly staff and great Ice Cream.
