Great little cafe very fair price food is of very good quality and a good selection of meals and snacks.staff are very pleasant and very helpful would recommend to anyone well worth a visit it is also pet friendly I could not fault this cafe and I will be back

Just a good plain wholesome breakfast or lunch. Lovely home cooked chips. Very reasonably priced. Go regularly, really can’t beat it for value for money. Just a cabin in the grounds of an old Manor House. Well used by surrounding businesses

Was nice food but was put off by the dirty cups and cutlery had to tell them and didn't apologise just said the dish washer was broke

My friend and I meet every Monday. And have always been satisfied both with food and service, however today was dreadful I’d ordered toasties , there was no salad or dressing , my friend said that the toasties always come with a side salad , answer ‘you have to ask if you want salad No not true , she then brought a tea plate with salad and teaspoon , we then had to ask for forks and serviette’s. A disappointing visit today. Next time we visit I’ll make sure we ask for everything to enjoy our meal. Girls are always helpful and polite maybe a little customer training is needed

Called in for the first time, Nice little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Pleasant countryside views We were greeted and served by a lovely lady who took our order for coffee, a sandwich and panini. We had side salad with both which was beautifully fresh compared to many we have eaten in other places recently. The egg mayo sandwich and tuna melt panini were very tasty and generously filled. The machine coffee was as you would expect Price was very reasonable. The piece of millionaires shortbread we bought to take away was delicious. We would definitely recommend and will certainly call in again

First time my wife and I have been to this hidden gem.On the road between Tanfield Village and Tantobie. I had the large full english breakfast, priced at £7-00, my wife had the bowl of home cooked chips and gravy,£2-00, followed by two mugs of tea. Both meals were superb and competitively priced. I have known the chef for a number of years,he is good,and I wish him the best of luck in his new venture. There is a good selection of meals on offer. Worth a visit if you are in the area,we will definitely be back.

Been today the chips were terrible eggs weren’t done properly, as I was hungry I ate it but told them about chips and the answer was there is another complaint, with we will have to change supplier. I can’t see how supplier would change in two weeks. Lyndsay I think her name was was pleasant but the lad cooking didn’t seem to care. He didn’t wash his hands after taking rubbish out and was seen to test chip with his fingers and put back in. Very poor meal. My friend had the same problem didn’t eat her chips and when there two others were being given fresh chips. My sister had toasted tea cake which was dry. All in all a terrible meal after having good ones in the past so will not be back and will tell our friends not to come.

All day breakfast was really good, staff were polite and friendly overall great experience definitely go again...

Great lovely little cafe near Tanfield. I stopped in for a coffee and a bacon sandwich while I waited for New tyres. Staff very friendly, excellent service and great value.

What a lovely little cafe in the middle of the durham/Tyne countryside! I stopped in for a coffee and a bacon butty while I had my tyres replaced next door and was delighted at the friendly staff, excellent quality food and value. Very clean and tidy, staff wearing masks as appropriate, hand sanitiser available and a track and trace qr code. All without taking away from the warm and cozy atmosphere and excellent views of the countryside. The only minor downside was I asked for a flat white and what I received, while a delicious cup of coffee, is not what I would consider a flat white. However the quality, value and friendly staff more than make up for it.
