I think they are in my top five of good fish and chips, and are good value for money. The fish tastes really fresh, and the chips are nice and crispI did notice one thing that I didn't like on my last visit- when the tables were cleared, the jugs of left over milk were topped up and given to new customersThis isn't very hygienic, ' the tables are small, and the milk has been coughed and sneezed over, plus droplets of saliva may have gone in it while speaking over it.Also people may have not washed their hands after using the toilet, and have been handling the jugI think all the jugs should be emptied and washed up properly after each useI realise they are trying to save money by using less milk, but this practice is not acceptable. If there is a lot of milk left in each jug, then they are putting too much in in the first place, and should put less in.The customer can always ask for a top up.I tried to find an email address, but couldn't, so perhaps they will read this, and do something about it, as it rally puts me off now that I have seen this happening. The only other point I would make is that the chairs aren't moveable , so if you're a bit bigger than average, it could be a bit of a squeeze.

Rothwells is the best fish and chips that I've had in Doncaster you can't beat them for quality taste and reasonably priced. The owners are so friendly and the staff are great. This fish shop is well known and always busy, busy because it's the best.

My family and I have been eating F&C from Rothwells for over 40 years. Although now the restaurant has reduced in size having closed the upstairs restaurant, it hasn't changed for many years so does appear old fashioned > but it's the food that's important. A couple of the waitresses are a little grumpy - but one lady has been there all the time we've been going and is lovely! The fish and chips are excellent and have maintained the same quality over the years. Cod & Chips with scraps, tea for two and two break cakes - perfect!

Preciosa, antigua chip shop y restaurante. Formica mesas; sin trucos extravagantes y pescado estupendo y patatas fritas. Verduras y el apetito más pequeños atendidos. Una gran relación calidad-precio.

If I lived in Doncaster I would be the size of a house as I wouldn't be able to resist coming here for a chippy lunch; my mum & I come here whenever we come into Doncaster without fail. The portion sizes are spot on, just enough. The fish is lovely, chips fluffy but with he best little crispy scraps as well.

We go here quite often in fact at least once a fortnight. I didn't know they were on trip advisor so a bit behind with a review. The thing is you are highly entertained by one of the owners Chris and one of the staff. Pure comedy. Makes going out to Doncaster worth every penny. You can just about have anything with chips.curry, haddock cod, sausage the list goes on. I usually have cod and peas and pinched a few chips off my hubby.wirh a pot of tea for two comes to £11.95. Could do with better serviettes but I can bypass that for the entertainment. They have two outlets and the one we use has two dining areas. There is seating outside for anyone to buy from the takeaway to sit and eat.

Just been in to get some fish & chips costing me £4.15. The fish was small that didn't bother me until I cut into it to find that it wasn't even cooked! I felt sick just looking at it so I opened it all up and it was wet and sticky! Will never come here again! You could kind of tell from the batter it wasn't fully cooked. Never again!

When in for lunch, service was quick and polite. Food arrived quickly and was hot, it reminded me of fish and chips when I was a kid. Great fish and chips, highly recommended.

average fish and chips, average surroundings and not particularly cheap, would be better off taking them home, although they would be really cold by then (were only warm when arrived) not offered any sauces, would go somewhere else in future

We've been going to Rothwells for 30 years and although new fish and chip shops come and go these are still the best. Keep up the good work Fred. !

Rothwells is a good old fashioned northern working man's cafe. It's not posh or pretentious but the food is amazing, fish and chips with the obligatory mushy peas, bread and butter and cup of tea for under a fiver. Fish is really fresh and the staff were friendly. Will definitely be back. You can sit down or have a takeaway.

We visited the one near the Markets on a Thursday so it was quite quiet. The service was practically immediate, order taken at your table. It was clean and tidy, tables cleared very quickly. Food arrives promptly and tastes wonderful. We had 2 pieces of cod, chips and beans, the other with peas, bread and butter and a pot of tea for 2 for under a tenner, and it was just the right portion size. One small whinge.....could do with more than 1 tea bag in the pot, tea was a bit weak, but would definately visit again.Yummy!!

2020 Covid review Opening hours seem stale now. There's hand sanitise on the way in. No wifi. You can message them by Facebook to reserve a table. They have only 4 taps of real ales but no bottle any more. Expensive for Donny, 1.80 a half or 3.60 a pint. Old review Lovely place with 10 taps and loads of bottles. Prices are expensive for Doncaster but there is plenty of choice

I just moved to the area and saw this fish shop advertised, went on line with ease I booked my choice of food, I arrived and as I had pre ordered my food was ready and I bypassed the queue. The chips were excellent and the haddock was fresh tasty and meaty, I will definitely be revisiting and have already recommended, thank you.
