Great stock of knitting and crafting materials and very helpful staff. A good shop if you want a new handbag or a gift for a friend. Good cafe too.

After our walk along the Weirs this where we decided to have lunch. It was OK but dimly lit and not much of an atmosphere. We did have a good seat next to the window overlooking the High Street so that was good. Would I come here again, Maybe?

This is a cafe I have visited many times. Always a joy, but sometimes very crowded. Speaks for itself.

C&H fabrics have all sorts for everything really. We bought material, some on special and some at full price. Staff are helpful.

A favourite stop between shopping,be it Coffee and a chat, or a light lunch. Very popular, very welcoming, and just a lovely shop to spend a few hours in.

Whilst I can't fault the store itself we were very disappointed over the VERY light lunch today. I ordered a welsh rarebit and it certainly was a 'rarebit' a very thin slice of brown bread with a light covering of cheese for £5. I notice a review from October this year a salad garnish was included, on mine there was not even a sign of a tomato slice! I also asked for a small capuccino, well an expresso cup wouldn't have been much smaller and this was £2.60. We have eaten here before and knew it was a bit pricey. There are loads of places to eat in Winchester but decided to save time as we were already doing shopping in the store. I have to say we won't be eating or drinking there again.

Embarrassed and annoyed when being ‘served’ by male member of staff on harberdashery this morning. Obviously customers are an annoyance and when I asked for fabric to be cut he muttered about someone already cutting fabric and indicated I should have waited instead of asking him to cut it (even though he was free!) I should have walked out there and then and am now regretting the huge cost of material in this place

They had an offer of different breads, I ordered sourdough sandwiches, and they were most definately not sourdough. I have a yeast intolerance and that is the only bread i can eat, I am able to detect the taste and smell of it from one bite.

Had a nice quick lunch of Welsh rarebit that was delicious served with a small salad. Very nice friendly staff. Nice furnishings that reflect the store ie cotton reel table numbers.

Great choice of fabrics, haberdashery and wool. Must-go place if you're into quilting, felting, sewing, knitting or crocheting - helpful, knowledgeable staff.

I used to be a regular visitor but as per the shop the staff are somewhat arrogant and seem to forget what they are there for ie to offer a service. I purchased ribbon in the shop first and waited to pay whilst the lady at the till stood chatting to another lady (about private matters, not shop related). I was about to say something but glared at them both and the penny seemed to drop - incredible! Unbelievably the same scenario in the cafe. The coffee was nice enough but the service and attitude was dire.

The groundfloor has a large array of fabrics but upstairs there are two further floors with all sorts of things to do with sewing and related activities PLUS all sorts of nicknacks to add decoration to your home. Whenever I'm in Winchester with my wife I find I am 'taken' there! Just look in.

I always make a point of visiting C and H fabrics when I visit Winchester as I am a self confessed fabric addict and it is really nice to browse an array of high quality fabrics. The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable and when the store is busy they always explain that they are with a customer and will be free to help soon. There is a wide range of fabrics and haberdashery products at excellent value prices, I have found some really special fabrics on my travels a bit different to some of the fabric that is available in the Birmingham stores in my hometown.

A family group of us popped in for a quick bite. I was impressed by the unpretentious elegance of the place. Food was uncomplicated and good, the service slick but polite.

A small cafe inside the shop. The food is good but it's very cramped with too many tables. Wheelchair access is very restricted.

Good selection of goods - anything in the craft line is usually available. The range of home ware is also good. A definite must if you are in town

Dreadful place to eat. Poor quality food very small portions, high pricing and generally poor old fashioned service hat should be considered for the bin.

Had a lovely tea here served in a pot, which came very quickly. Lovely clean china. Ordered egg and bacon sandwich one white and one brown. Beautiful bacon and lovely egg, the bread was really thin and dry and no butter which was such a shame this let the sandwich down and made it dry. Lovely staff, friendly and cheerful, cleared tables which is a change some eateries seem to neglect this task.Cakes looked wonderful.

We came in for lunch with two young grandsons. There was a reasonable selection of food for the children and for the adults. Service speed was acceptable and the food quality was good.

Three of us called in for a light lunch and ordered sandwiches. This was the worst bacon sandwich I have ever eaten with one small rasher of bacon, dried lettuce and two slices of tomato. No mayo. The other two sandwiches were very similar and very poor value. A child could of made a better sandwich.

Atmosphere good, and cleanliness good. Shame about the food. My friend and I ordered the full English breakfast. I couldn't believe what was on my plate when it arrived. 1) a small, cheap chipolata cut in half lengthways, making it look like 2 sausages 2) 2 slices of cold bacon...definitely NOT bacon, looked like thin supermarket packet ham 3) 2 slices uncooked tomato 4) half a small pot of baked beans, very microwave HOT 5) a spoonful of RAW uncooked mushrooms 6) a fried egg, the only OK thing on the plate 7) 2 slices dry white toast with butter pats. We were on a limited time scale, so didn't complain at the time (14.10.2016). I regret not doing so now. What an overseas visitor would have thought of this "Full English" beggars belief.

This is a gem in Winchester for anyone who likes to be crafty. I like to sew and the staff on the third floor are very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing the right patterns/fabrics/accessories for whatever project I have chosen to do. They have an extensive range of fabrics in store and available to order. I couldn't recommend this place more! Also, they have a very reasonably priced cafe in store.

We were pleasantly surprised with this little cafe. It is in a shop selling ornaments, fabrics etc and is a nice change from chains. We wanted somewhere that had lunch options and the day we were there it had a special lunch of soup and a roll plus a mince pie. It was before Christmas and we went to see the Christmas market and go ice skating. The menu had sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, soup and cakes. Just what we wanted. The staff were friendly and the place was suitable for disabled people as it had a lift.

£3.60 for one cinnamon knot/bun..... shameless. Can't fathom the mark up on these things. Seems people care more about clout or image than paying ridiculous prices. Won't be back.

Well said clearly on receipt espresso on the side. Obviously cannot read. Coffee was vile so returned and got snapped at. Won't be coming back here.

Food expensive but ok. It had been raining and they had 2 wet floor signs out. 4 people slipped over in the 30 minutes I was there. I went to tell them that it was too slippery especially the side part. The server said he knew but nothing could be done about it. I stated that it was algae and it could be cleaned or the area worst affected closed off. Nothing was done. Another lady slipped and hurt her knee badly. I reported again and was told there was a sign stating slippery when wet. This sign was 2 Inches x 1.5 inches big on the side of the Cafe in total size. Health and safety are obviously a low priority over profits and no concern was shown to customers even when told.

Excellent as always, delicious food, reasonably priced, I wish I’d had room for a pud. Lamb shank is a treat, tender as anything with proper veg.
