The food was very good especially the sweet potato fries, staff was accommodating when ordering with deals/requests. However when it came to paying the bill...there was a service charge added which we requested to be taken off then we all paid separately paying for what we ate and drunk, but the card machine automatically applied service charge again for some people which we only noticed after the payment was taken. We also left a cash tip which the waitress put straight in her pocket. Then at the end the waitress went to check all our receipts added up to cover the bill, and then claimed £6 was still left unpaid which confused us all since we had already been overcharged and covered everything we all had. Since we just wanted to leave at this point we paid the mystery £6 which the card machine also added service charge to aswell making it £7 something. Safe to say we will not be returning despite having good experiences the countless other times we've been. 100% ripped off when trying to have a treat.

We hadn't been to a Byron for several years, but we're glad we went for it at last. As good as I remember, though also as pricey as I remember too. It's still worth the visit.

We craved a burger, and they certainly delivered. Double smash smoke was absolutely outstanding and was the perfect balance of size and quality. Mac and cheese? = 10/10. Fries, very crisp and a little fluffy. And finally the onion rings, not to sound cliché, but they were the best I've ever had. The shake is a must have too, made the whole experience sweeter. Aiden and Kat were so welcoming, their customer service was top notch, thanks guys!

Wow, what a burger, now burgers from my perspective are not difficult to create, but when I’m out, if I fancy a burger, I fancy a good one, and this hit the mark, especially when you compare it with a so called award winning burger restaurant in my home town of Hereford, that could most certainly takes some tips from this establishment. I ordered the Jorvik special and the meat was a really good quality mince, that had been cooked to perfection, it was juicy and succulent, with a really tasty bacon and cheese and well balanced flavours and a slight kick, each bite was a delight. Fresh fries cooked well and seasoned perfectly and I added a splash of tingly teds hot sauce which only had a 2 chilli rating on the Scoville scale, but I reckon it was hotter. The meal was all balanced well with a Coney pale ale from New York. Service was fantastic, friendly and attentive, a great experience all round.

Had an excellent time here. Went for our sons birthday as he loves Burgers. The food was amazing and our waitress, Kat made a friend for life by discussing Lego with our nine year old.

Came to Byron today (20/02/25) and was served by Millie, she suggested the Yorvik burger with a beer and chips and it was amazing! I love supporting local york businesses and the food did not disappoint! Would definitely come again.

I visited Byron whilst on a trip to York, and it was an absolute highlight of my stay. The food was great - beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. Most of the burgers can be made vegan which was handy. A special shoutout to our waitress, Maddie, whose service was outstanding. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. It’s not often you come across such exceptional service, and Maddie truly went above and beyond to make our visit special. If you’re in York and looking for a great place to eat, I can’t recommend Byron enough. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the city.

The food was amazing. Great service and really friendly and welcoming staff. They have great allergy knowledge and helped with allergy orders. They were very accommodating to my daughter who has additional needs. Aiden was fantastic with her and helped her to feel comfortable. Would recommend this place to everyone.

We all enjoyed our burgers. Amazing for me, as a vegan, to have such a choice! Service was okay, though we almost got another table's drinks. It was freezing sitting next to the window, which spoiled the ambience. Luckily we were staying close by so we had no parking or transport costs.

The burger was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and stacked high with fresh ingredients. The combination of the perfectly seasoned beef patty and melted cheese made each bite a real treat. The fries were golden and crisp, just the way I like them. What stood out most was the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail. Each burger is clearly made with care, and you can taste the difference in the freshness of the produce and the quality of the meat. They also have some excellent vegetarian and vegan options, so everyone can find something to enjoy. The milkshakes are worth mentioning too! Creamy, indulgent, and just the right amount of sweetness, they were the perfect way to wash down the burger. If you're in York and craving a great burger, Byron Burger is definitely worth a visit. The food is top-notch, the atmosphere is fun, and the service is great. I’ll definitely be back!

The food here is outstanding the staff members are extremely polite and helpful and have a great understanding when it comes to allergies as a coeliac i felt very safe eating here and there was lots to chose from.

Got the lunch deal which is very competitively priced and must be one of the best lunch deals in york. However, the burger ended up being a bit of an onion and pickle sandwich- thin patty, thick pickle! Service is just fantastic I’ll add.

Pretty much every time I order from Byron's it is 100% spot on. However, what I ordered and what I received were way off of the mark. I ordered the Chilli burger, Tots, and a Coke Zero but received onion rings, fries, a five patty burger, and chicken tenders(?). The only item that was correct was the can of Coke Zero. Love you guys but totally off on this one!!! Redeemed I ordered again and the order was perfect..change of this rating from 2 to 4, would give a 5 but see above. I would like to give a 4.5 though.

Byron’s food is exceptional, the place has a lovely feel to it, and Georgia was a pleasant and efficient server. Though I remain in want of chicken wings, which were sadly unavailable, it comes highly recommended.

This Bryon stands out for me. I’ve been to a few others, and this is better for some reason. The staff were great and the cider they had was one of the best I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend.

Excellent burgers. Little expenses (the few chips that came should be include in the price of the burgers). Decor was great and service also. Unfortunately there was no heating on, so sat with our coats on.
