I went to this place a couple of times when it was called Miss Owens' Cafe and on both occasions I left feeling very satisfied. I went today with a few family members and sadly, under a new name with different staff, it wasn't as good as before. Firstly, most of us wanted a full breakfast but were told this ended at midday (when we got there). I watched other diners finishing theirs as we waited to be served so I thought it was a bit harsh. Nevertheless we ordered alternatives. My brother ordered the curry and was offered rice or chips and when he asked for half and half the waitress said he'd have to choose one and order a portion of the other due to "portion control" which sounds like they're heating up a ready meal. The food we ate was satisfactory. Sadly that's all that can be said for the service. It all seemed a bit rushed and without basic manners. The cafe was busy but that shouldn't be a reason to extend customers some polite curtosy. Looks like I'll be going back to Liffys Bistro in Rhyl

My Husband and I called for lunch to this cafe on Tuesday 9th July 19,we have been here a few times before, but on this occasion my lunch was awful. My Husband chose cheese and ham omellete and chips and was fine, I chose fish chips and garden peas at a cost of £8.35.I asked what the fish was and was told it was cod, The fish was a frozen fish, which is fine but the batter was rock hard. When I cut into the batter there was hardly any fish inside and the colour was grey, no way was it cod. There was no taste to it at all, I only ate the little bit of fish from the inside and left the batter as it was too hard. When asked was everything ok, I advised it was not and that the fish was awful and explained the above, the Lady said they had had other complaints about this fishand she would tell the Manager. For this price it should be a proper piece of cod not a hard really cheap brick with a grey sliver of fish inside. On this occasion I would not recommend this meal. The staff were efficient and friendly.

I really disappointed with the quality of the food bad how it was presented, the cheese was sliced and not even grated and the salad wasn’t worth putting on the plate. They couldn’t manage to make a proper sandwich, as bread was missing and the tomato’s were cut like door stops. Trade descriptions should definitely look into the menu, as it describes their chips as being served by the bowl at £3.25, but ours arrived in a cup that you were serve tea in. I definitely wouldn’t be going back and would recommend no else foes either, as you would be wasting your money. Wish I told them before leaving and paying my bill.

Ordered egg sandwich, dry bread, not even an egg worth in it at all couldn't taste any seasoning horrible with a tiny amount of prawn cocktail crisps on the plate bink you would miss it random flavour too, the salad was okay the coleslaw was cheap and nasty. Ordered a children's meal fish and chips to be told they were fish fingers this should be printed on the menu again cheap and nasty. Wouldn't eat there again frustrated at places that charge full amounts for cheap food.

Called in whilst visiting Garden Centre, my friend and I ordered egg on toast - card menu said "2 EGGS ON TOAST" - I ordered poached eggs on Brown whilst my friend ordered fried eggs on white. My order came and looked fine, my friend's came after a minute or so but only had one egg on the toast. I queried this with the waitress and she said it only stated "EGG ON TOAST" on the menu. I asked if we could see the menu card again which she brought over but kept her thumb on the figure "2". I asked her if she would move her thumb away which she reluctantly did, when I pointed out that it clearly said "2 Eggs" she said that she didn't know who had written that on. I pointed out that my order had been brought with 2 Eggs so clearly a mistake had been made. This is when she indignantly said that if we wanted another egg she would bring one. Obviously we requested the other egg which we were paying for. She had no sooner gone back into the kitchen than she was back with the missing egg on a small plate - either the "missing" egg had been purposely left in the kitchen or the fried eggs are pre-cooked and kept warm. There was no apology or explanation. Unfortunately the owner who we have seen when we have been in at other times was not around otherwise I would have brought the matter up with her. Shame if standards are beginning to slip.

Visited with my husband and my 1 year old daughter on recommendation from a friend. The tea room looks cute and quaint, loved all the different cakes on offer however we just had lunch. I had omelette, my husband had fish and chips which was pleasant however for us the batter was too thick and fish over cooked. My daughter had a child's meal, which come on a character plate and with child's cutlery which is a bonus. We usually take our own for her but this was attention to detail we really appreciated. She had ice cream afterwards which came in a novel pot with ice cream cone shaped scoop. Generally the food was ok, and the girls serving were nice, but it was the child friendliness that will see us return :)

I visited Butterfly's Tea today. I feel the business is most dysfunctional. I ordered a ham sandwich a packet of crisp and a cup of tea. Not a Hughes order. The girls serving constantly having to ask what the take out price is even to the point of a packet of crisp. I feel that it is embarrassing for the staff not to know the prices of the Items on sale. Surely it not difficult to print a price list. Then I was abruptly told that I can't pay by card as orders have to be over £10 no notice anywhere to tell you this. Thankfully I had enough cash to pay. Then other people came in and I feel they where abruptly told we are no longer serving food. If this was my business, I wouldn't be turning people away. And certainly not in an abrupt manner. Is it so hard to make your customers feel welcome? At the end of the they pay your wages. Never go there again.

We visited Butterfly's for breakfast after a trek around the garden center next door. I asked for a small milky coffee, from the miserable woman serving, with my extortionately priced poached egg on toast (£4.25 and only one piece of toast.) What I received was a large latte that was so incredibly hot I couldn't drink it. My husband had a sausage and bacon bap which he enjoyed but it again it was overpriced. We were asked to move tables as we had sat at the one which was laid out for lunch - which most of them were. During our breakfast the patio doors were opened which, although it was a hot day, made it too cold to stay inside so my husband finished both our coffees outside. Not a particularly pleasant experience.

If you own a cafe near a main road then I should imagine that people stopping to ask to use the toilet is a pain and I understand that proprietors have to maintain policies in that regards. However, my wife and I were returning from a short break and my 2 year old daughter was caught short. We spotted the cafe and my wife went in to ask if she could use the bathroom. She was asked if she would be eating and when she said we weren't she said 'well, no then' and that was it, no politeness, manners or suggestions. As I said, I actually understand the policy but I don't understand the rudeness and lack of manners or courtesy. We travel this way regularly and definitely won't be eating there in the future. In fact, if this was the last cafe on earth, I'd prefer to starve.

I have recently booked two luxury afternoon teas for groups of ladies. The first visit on 28th November was excellent. Staff pleasant . Today 19th December a different matter . On arrival I apologised and said it would be only 5 instead of 7 of us as the other two had just let me know earlier that they were unwell. Nothing was said by the staff. We had our tea , went to pay the £50 bill and left a tip of £5 then to be told that we would have to pay a percentage towards the 2 who had not attended as they'd had to buy the food in- a strange thing to say. I was shocked What happened to pleasant staff who were there on the 28th. Having eaten out in many places in the U.K., never have I been charged if a member of a party hasn't attended. Having attended these tearoom several times this year I certainly will not be attending again.

Having been to the tea rooms in the past and being close to home, we took my disabled husband to the tearooms about 3.15pm. We only wanted tea and cake so that was fine. First problem - ramp has an adverse camber so is difficult to wheel a wheelchair up, then there is a one inch'double-glazing' lip at the door. My husband had to get out of the chair in order to access the conservatory. One of the assistants did suggest we sat outside which was 'wheelchair accessible'!Second the lady on the counter took our order and it came to the table - they had sent out the wrong ice cream sundae. They duly changed it for us and then asked us for an extra 25p as they had mischarged us as well! We couldn't believe we were paying for their error. When we asked to see the manager as we felt it was poor customer service to ask for extra, she as good as threw the change at me and said she did provide good customer service as she had changed the ice cream - it was not that we had changed our minds, they had brought out the wrong one.We questioned, on leaving, the disabled access again and she was adamant that no-one else had an issue and people came in in wheelchairs, even to the extent that she made it out it was our fault if we couldn't get in. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to get a wheelchair between the tables. Apparently, access isn't her problem, it's the problem of the garden centre owner!!The food is a bit pricey but generally good. The customer service leaves a lot to be desired and they certainly, as others have said, seem desperate to lock up and get home once it gets past 3.30pm.I would not venture back there at all, with or without my husband.

We ordered 2 coffees and 2 scones and the little 1 had a fruit shoot. We sat down at approx. 4pm. When we sat down we saw a notice saying last orders were 3.45 but thought as we had been told what was available by lady at counter it was in order to sit down and eat. No sooner had we sat down than we were told in a very unfriendly way to hurry up as they needed to go home. Must say scone was really good and coffee very nice too. We left at approx. 4.20 when the door was locked behind us. We will not be returning although we are quite local. We travel from Manchester to visit a friend that was in the nearby hospital , our friend could come out so we decided to call to the tea rooms for cake and coffee , the time was 3.45pm , we were told we could only have a coffee as they closed at 4pm !!! We were gobsmacked to be refused cake !! On the website the time of closing is actually 4.30pm Will not be returning !!!

Popped in for lunch after wandering around the garden centre. It is obviously a very popular place as it was very busy and we had to wait a bit to get a table but it was worth the wait. Fair amount of choice on offer. I went for a mushroom omelette, chips & salad & Mum had ham, egg and chips. The ham on her plate looked delicious, thick-cut and pink but she said it didn't taste as good as it looked and was a bit dry and lacking in flavour. However, I was perfectly happy with my lunch. My only negative comment would be that this delightful little tearoom could do with some air-conditioning in the summer as it was quite hot and claustrophobic on a warm day.

Really disappointed! Took my mum for a bit of lunch, staff rather vague, no welcome.. Ordered a sandwich and was very underwhelmed! Poor quality bread, soggy on one edge, quarter of an unripe tomato and a tiny bit of coleslaw (not good quality) sandwich was returned as I was gobsmacked it was priced at £6.99 Wouldn't wish to return, felt very uncomfortable when speaking to the manager who rolled her eyes!! Much more pleasant places to eat in surrounding areas

I live relatively close to the tea rooms and wanted to give it a try. Me and a couple of friends walked down there a few weeks ago. The food was great and the staff were very pleasant. I highly recommend going to the tea rooms. The menu had a wide variety of cold and hot food as well as beautifully laid out cake display. I had a piece of coffee and walnut cake which came with squirty cream, a strawberry and toffee sauce with a lovely sprinkling of icing sugar over the top! All round brilliant tea room and I will be visiting here again.

We have been to this cafe a few times and it is my go to when I need food relativity quickly as it is always delivered fast. Food is adequate and the cakes look amazing. Nice selection of soft drinks and menu options. I keep meaning to try the afternoon tea. service is fine and the selection of highchairs or pile of cushions to seat children comfortably is great.

My family and I go here often and wouldn't continue to do so if the standards weren't as good as they are. The staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating. The service is fast and efficient and the food is always great. Especially the specials, big fan of the cottage pie. There is a good menu selection hot and cold and a wide range of cakes. Highly recommended.

My wife and I visited the Tea Room ths morning. My wife has mobility problems but the Conservatory is not very disablity friendly. Cramped and narrow door. Seats very low and not suitable for dining. Another lady could not get her wheelchair through the door without a struggle. The Bacon Baps we ordered were of very poor quality. Very cheap bacon. Hoever I noticed other customers food looked appetising and good quality. So it depends on what you order as to its quality. Having said that, the staff were excellent and very friendly. Service was fast and efficient. The experience was a bit of an enigma.

Visited this tea room today with my mum, just before 3pm. We walked in the conservatory and through to the main tea rooms and was greeted by a very rude woman (who must be some sort of manager as she was in her own clothes) behind the counter who shouted to us we had to sit in the conservatory as the main tea room was shut. Fine fair enough, could've been politer about it. We sat down, chose what food we wanted and went to the counter to pay. Where we were met with the same rude woman. We ordered a cheese sandwich and an egg mayonnaise sandwich. We were then told we couldn't order food as the kitchen closes at 3pm. (Bearing in mind the tea room is open until 4pm and we ordered for at 3.05pm). I said to my mum we would go somewhere else and then the woman behind the counter then shouted to someone in the kitchen and asked if they'd make a sandwich and they agreed. Okay so then moving on to the drinks, actually ended up arguing over a lemonade?! Which I was right about so maybe she should get her facts right? Then I asked if I couldPay by card and just got barked at and told to go to the garden centre! I had cash so it was fine but there was no need for the attitude. Absolute joke of customer service from start to finish. I will not be returning here and I will tell other people the same. Don't have opening times until 4pm if you shut the place down by 3pm! Don't be rude to younger customers either!

My husband and I are regular visitors to Butterfly's for coffee and scones or tea-cakes but today we treated ourselves to Sunday lunch and it was a real treat. My husband had the chicken and I had the nut roast. Butterly's are one of very few restaurants in this area who have grasped the fact that many vegetarians enjoy a roast lunch, rather than a pasta bake, on a Sunday! Our meals were served with four vegetables and delicious roast potatoes and I was offered veggie gravy. We both enjoyed our desserts and felt that we had received good value for our money. As usual the staff were friendly and welcoming and we left feeling very pleased with the whole experience.

We are regular visitors to Butterflies, and have been going for years. The staff are a joy to deal with a the premises are lovingly well kept, decorated and spotlessly clean. There is a fabulous choice of food from snacks to full meals, including daily specials. We use this a a place to enjoy a lunch together or when we have friends and family visiting.I would highly recommend this place to anybody wanting a really nice place to go for food, locally. I would also be the first to suggest the cream teas as excellent value for money, and very filling! Thank you to the owners and all the staff...

Visited this lovely little garden centre today with my hubbie, sister and brother ( plus 1 very old doggie). Had a lovely lunch, portions were large and lovely, we all struggled to finish our meals. We had already seen the homemade scones and cakes on our way in, so decided to ask for them as a takeaway. The scones were massive and so nice, struggled to eat it 3 hours later. Lemon drizzle cake and Victoria sandwich also got great reviews from the others. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit to this dog friendly cafe and also to potter around the garden centre, so glad we stopped here.

We decided to book for dinner as other restaurants in the area that we wanted were booked up. So glad they were, food was amazing, staff really friendly, great ambience, had a lovely evening.

Ended up here after a theatre show. There was only a small selection of sandwiches but I enjoyed mine and the coffee was good. The staff were lovely. It's basic, it isn't cheap but it was OK.
