Butlin's Traditional Fish & Chip Restaurant in Arun

I have just had the best fish and chips I have ever tasted at Butlin’s Bognor Regis. I cannot fault the quality of the fish which was cooked to perfection and the chips were perfect too! Great portions, hot, crispy batter and chips just right with no grease at all. Would recommend that if you have the chance try it for yourself!

As the name would suggest!! Traditional fish & chips.. Went their on the Friday night as we landed in Butlin’s. Had booked a table, but was warned on check in that there was a 30-40 min wait on food. In reality it was less than this but was good to set expectations. Suspect any delays was from short staff. Waitress, Joyce, was extremely busy and run off her feet. Despite this she was on point and kept a smile on her face. Without her I think it may have been a worse outcome! Food was as you’d expect from fish and chips

Don't bother getting chips from here.. you won't get enough too feed a gold fish And cold. £3.50 for a large chips and you get what they call 3 scoops. Must be using an ice cream scoop because it's ridiculous, you honestly get 1.5 handfuls. The gravy is water with some flavour sprinkled on top. This is not traditional fish and chips, this is robbery. My partner went back to ask what the deal was and she was met with a blunt and some what rude answer of "you get 3 scoops, that's what you got" Please, please don't waste your money here. Birds Eye or take a walk along the sea front and find something more local. Chicken burger was cold and dry. No offer of lettuce, tomatoes or mayo. I will be complaining to butlins about this because I don’t think it’s good enough. We spent £25 and what we got wasn’t good enough for dog food.

Love meal here while staying at butlins , friendly staff very clean lovely fish and chips and make a lovely cocktail. When staying at butlins again will definitely go again.

We had dinner last night with my family , the food is lovely & also Matt who was the waitress was really attentive & friendly . Definitely we will be back this week !

We come here as a family with a 1 year old baby who doesn’t like most of the general food. This place was brilliant, great food, great people and probably the best place to come for the stay at Butlin’s. Matt who served us a few times was brilliant, he catered to my little one and us perfectly. He was very professional too. Matt thank you for making our visits perfect as for the rest of the restaurants here I would up you game !!!! Luke

Food was cooked well, reasonably priced and tasty. A little bit of a wait after ordering but not too bad. I like a chippy that still wraps on paper rather than those awful cardboard cartons, so this was a plus too.

We are here in holiday but our child has an intolerance so we have struggled to feed him, UNTIL we came here on Tuesday, Callum, re-assured us we would all be able to eat properly and together, so he told us the batter and fryers the use may contain things, but told us he would make sure the chefs would use fresh batter that nothing else has been in, and a separate fryer, so thank you to the chefs aswell…. But Callum was amazing the whole time even came and checked on us throughout our time here, we highly highly recommended this place to anyone who comes here, Thank you all xx

We visited the restaurant during our stay at Butlin’s for the Spooktacular Halloween weekend. When many other restaurants were busy or for dining packages only, we were greeted at this restaurant by Matt with a very welcoming smile. He told us he would prepare a table for us if we could wait a few minutes which we were happy to do. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great and the food was delicious. Matt was very hospitable and we had a lovely evening, thank you.

We came here Tuesday evening for dinner and a birthday there was 17 of us all together, Callum dealt with us the whole night and was amazing can’t fault him one bit, he constantly checked everyone was okay, made sure everyone was happy and even stopped to have a chat with us, the place was really busy and all the staff were rushed of there feet but Callum made sure we had everything we needed and made sure everything and everyone was okay, the lad deserves a pat on the back, the managers have clearly trained there staff correctly as we couldn’t fault anyone or anything, made our whole day and the birthday even better for us, thank you again everyone and thank you so much Callum you’re amazing. The food was also amazing

Visited restaurant for dinner, service quick and staff friendly but food not good. I had fish cakes which was more potato cakes as I could not taste any fish nor find any fish in it. Chips were the frozen oven kind very dry and not forgetting the one limp lettuce leaf. I can’t recommend this restaurant.

We arrived on Monday and came here for some dinner we weren’t really sure what to expect as never eaten in any of the restaurants before…… but it was amazing, the food was lovely good sizes good prices, quick service kind and friendly staff, the staff are really really good with the kids and baby’s aswell, it’s just a shame I didn’t get any of the staffs names as they were just incredible everyone of then, thanks for making the start of our holiday amazing all!!!

We where on the Butlins day pass 21st Feb as as usual the park and swimming pool are great, but the fish and chip takeaway is awful with the chips stoggey and the fish batter uneatable The fish was good and tasty !. I did eat in Papa johns and the food was great in there for the rest of the family. I think the fish and chips had been in the heated counter too long so maybe some training on how long food should be in there or cook from order like most fish and chip shops ! . Anyway will not be having fish and chips again on our next visit. Regards

Genuinely great fish and chips, fresh, crisp and dry! All enhanced by such amazing service!! All the staff were incredibly good but as many others have already acknowledged, Tina is genuinely one of the best waitresses I have come across. Nice enough meal for most of our family group - but no vegetarian option when it comes to the chips? Really? That feels like a backward step these days. Means that unfortunately we won't be bothering again. Shame.

We went to Butlins Fish & Chip's, food was amazing. Very clean brilliant service cod and chips cooked fresh, homemade tartare sauce. Great value for money, got served by Tina she was fab, advised us what to try can't fault it or her. Well done

Ate here on Saturday night & glad we did as everywhere was full. We were advised that there was a half an hour wait on food but as it was 5.30pm we didn't mind.

We decided to give this restaurant a go and were very pleased with the food and friendliness of the staff. We had a power cut while we were there and the staff were very reasduring and as we had ordered before the power went off we got our meal - well done.

I was put off fish and chips many years ago when we had a Harry Ramsden meal. But now the fish and chip restaurant changes that with great fish and chips and friendly service. Would recommend.

We recently visited on our holiday and immediately loved the atmosphere. It is decorated lovely and lots of extra touches. The staff were efficient and nothing was too much for them. The food was fresh, hot and great portion sizes. It was defiantly the best food outlet we tried on our holiday, we would defiantly come back when we return to Butlins!

Great lunch today at the fish and chip restaurant. Good service, fresh fish, the fish finger sandwich was particularly good and the cost for 8 was just over £60. Enjoy.

After pre booking the restruant we realised they had a power cut. Thankfully it was sorted quickly. Staff were lovely and apologised for a delay as the fryers needed to warm up. Great with allergies and great food including optional veg. Very tasty

We booked a table well in advance but, after queuing for 20 minutes were told they had two large parties and the wait was at least an hour! we went elsewhere....

We visited after swimming so we were really hungry, the portions were generous and cooked to perfection. Lovely atmosphere and the manager really looked after us, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning soon.

We visited this restaurant after much deliberation about where to have lunch! When we arrived, the waitress was very friendly and settled us down with an activity pack for our two kids - a welcome treat to keep the 2 year old entertained! We had a group of 26 book the restaurant, they took our order the day before to have the food all prepared and ready for our arrival. It is one of the nicest fish and chips that we have had. The fish was stunning and the chips were not greasy they were just right. Absolutely brilliant place and is a great addition to the camp. We visited Butlins Fish & chips and the food was very delicious and heart-warming together with it being very clean, the experience was taken to another level with our waiter, who was very welcoming, caring and most of made us all laugh out loud. Top man and most of all well done to Butlins to hire such a top fella.

The best gluten free fish cakes. After spending years going to Butlins for gluten free options this was great. The family loved it. All the staff were lovely.

During our stay we visited most of the food outlets in the resort. In my opinion this was the best food with the best service. Whilst my family had the traditional fish and chips, I had the Sea Bass. All the food was cooked well and well presented. The staff were cheerful and attentive. In fact, one of the chefs came out and did magic tricks with the children. I would recommend this venue to anyone staying in Butlins.

The worker called Karim is a very nice man has very good customer service and makes you feel really welcome . I hope to see him next year

If you're looking for good value, well portioned dishes with unlimited drinks then this is the place to go. The staff are attentive and welcoming, the location is good right next to the main entertainment space and the decor is modern and well looked after.

Four of us visited one evening on our 3 night stay. I ordered the regular cod and chips, one of our friends had the large haddock, another had scampi and 4th was large cod. Long wait for the food. Regular cod was the size of a fish finger. Haddock was dry, chips were warm. Not the best start. 3 of us had desserts, one being crumble and ice cream which consisted of half a small melted scoop.

Such friendly fun staff, food was amazing couldn’t fault it. Great for all ages Will come again for certain

Had a great meal here today, lovely cs too, the duty manager was very welcoming. The fish was fab and really fresh. Kids meals were great value too. Eat here instead of over the road at ‘the diner’ which is pretty poor in comparison!

Crap service crap food and crap price took nearly 20mins to get served when was 2nd in line,ordered a battered sausage chips and beans came to £6.20 and tasted like Godzilla's droppings

We had tried several other restaurants during our stay and none can beat this place as all all round family experience.

We recently spent the weekend at Butlin’s for my daughter’s birthday. It’s not our usual type of break/holiday - although my daughter loved it and that’s all that matters - and the general food offer wasn’t terrific for us. The traditional fish restaurant was wonderful however. Delicious fish and chips well-cooked and moderately priced, with one or two really nice alternatives on the menu too. We ate their twice. The first evening we had a smashing, cheery young waiter named Jack serve us. He was accommodating and attentive. Terrific stuff. The second evening however, the restaurant was bursting at the seams and the kitchen/bar staff were clearly struggling. We were served by an absolutely superb young guy, Sean, who although frantically busy remained unflustered, polite and wonderfully cheery throughout our visit. He was simply brilliant. What a credit he is to the restaurant and resort. No doubt his parents too!

Tried this after reading the reviews. Very good quality fish, cooked fresh and chips were good. Only gripe was I had to ask to put salt and vinegar on myself where that should be normal and seagulls which are very bold will try and steal your food so be careful!

I was on a day pass to Butlins yesterday, having been disgusted by the new pool and other points stated in my Butins review, we came here for fish and chips only to find it closed, the fish and chip takeaway was open but not the restaurant, such a shame its Fantastic food here. please open Sundays and Mondays, we had to walk around town to find another one and that was so annoying when you dont know the town well .

My husband and I visited Butlins with my parents and our 4yr old son and decided to eat here twice as the food was so good. The fish and chips were excellent as was the chicken and leek pie.

This is the best restaurant by far on the site. The staff are so down to earth & friendly. Very understanding of our needs for my 4yr old disabled son in wheelchair. Tina was definitely Brad's favourite! Greeted with a lovely smile. The food was amazing. So much so we went a few times on our stay. In pic you can see the roasted cod with a tomato crust. I fancied a change from chips. Wasnt disappointed! The cocktails are fun too. One in pic is a tiddly om pom pom! Come in a gift bag with seaside rock! :)

We first visited this restaurant last year on our Just for Tots break & did so twice again on our latest visit. Tina & the team are so warm, friendly & welcoming. The menu is vast & has lots of choice for vegetarians as well as being very reasonably priced. The portions are huge & the food is incredible. Would definitely recommend!

Had the fish n chips great quality well sized fresh and chips were good too. Daughter had the kids tomato pasta which was excellent too and the staff were lovely

The service and food here was pretty average. Prices are quite high, so you would expect good service and decent food. The place was clean.

The food was fine when it finally arrived, we chose to take away rather than eat in, the server was taking one order at a time, passing it to the cook, who then put the fish in the fryer to order. She then waited until she had served this before even taking the order from the next person in the queue, we were in the queue for 20 mins then 15 mins for food to cook and 5 more for it to be wrapped. All the while witnessing snipes and arguments, all a bit strange.

Today we visited for lunch,we were greeted with a smile and got given great customer service by Karim the Manager. He Brought us a chair out for us from the back office to sit on when he saw us holding my daughter whilst waiting for our food. He also made sure our food was made separately and affectively. He was kind and made our first experience a very pleasant one. We would definitely recommend their good quality food and come back when we next return to Butlins. Thank You so much for your custom.

I went there today because i needed a high chair go sit outside as I had purchased a take away from the fish and chips next door (the takeaway one) the manager Karim greeted us and kindly offered to lend us one. He saw that I was carrying a bunch of bags and my sons bike and was there solo with him. I was sure he was going to run off while I was eating and I was so starving. He jumped to offer me the highchair and was going to bring it out to me but ended up just having me sit inside at the table and made me feel so welcome it was far above and beyond his job since I didn’t even buy anything from him he came and bought my son some colouring things checked if we are okay brought him sweets And was just so kind to us. I was touched by how caring and wonderful he was seeing as we didn’t make a penny for him. The food I presume was the same or similar to the fish and chips next door which we had purchased from which was delicious I’m sure and his food would have been great too. Thank you so much. I would have had no way to eat my dinner.
