Had a takeaway fish and chips today for myself my husband and my son, we have had this before several months ago. I'm sorry to say it was awful, the fish batter was quite greasy and the chips were terrible, very dry and just awful. A waste of £24.00

Just discovered after living in the area for over 2 years, a gem of a place with great tasting food

If you're thinking of a fish and chips dinner and it is around 7:30PM forget about going to The Street Fish Bar as they finish serving at 7:40PM because they don't want to cook more chips! They seem to have forgotten that their trading permission, like all other retail shops, was granted to provide a service to the local community, and closing very early because they don't want to provide that service is unacceptable.

Visiting Rustington. Needed dinner, with minutes to spare before they closed, these lovely people were happy to cook us anything. Food was lovely, will definitely go back. No wonder they have such good feedback. Thank you for our lovely dinner 🙂

I haven’t been to the street fish bar in years and thought I’d give it a shot tonight. I’m really fussy with fish, I hate greasy batter, soggy batter and fish with no taste. I can honestly say that this was the best fish and chips I’ve had in years. Beautiful fresh fish, no skin, dry batter, cooked to perfection. Haven’t had fish and chips this good locally in a long time. I will only go here now.

Popped in for some lunch after a quick trip to the beach, the fish and chips were all cooked fresh and were absolutely delicious! I’d say the best and freshest fish I’ve had in a long long time. We will definitely return when in the area again.

Beautiful fresh fish fried to perfection. Batter not too thick so you can enjoy a good size piece of fish. Chips good portions. We buy regularly.

Amazing! Very welcoming staff, perfectly cooked fish ,crispy batter ,grease free ,see picture of my plate once eaten! A truly rare thing if you are a fish and chips fan you will know what i mean ! I guess it's the Yorkshire heritage of the new owner,and you get to make your own cuppa to your liking. Also the option of card payment unlike other fish shop in the area which was great as was raining on day I had lunch so didn't have to go to cashpoint which tbh was the reason I didn't eat at the other place. Can't recommend enough, best fish lunch in the area hand's down. Will definitely be back soon. If I could give more than 5 stars I would...Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Fish overcooked, chips under cooked horrible

Just had a feast of fish and chips with condiments delivered. absolutetly superb by far the best in Rustington, Littlehampton, Angmering and East Preston 10/10

THE best chippy for miles around. Everything is fresh and the service is friendly and as quick a can be when cooking from fresh. Used to use when the previous owner was in place but the quality has remained as high as ever since the change of ownership. Very happy to recommend.

Friendly chippy, spotlessly clean. Fish fresh as a daisy, good-size portions and cooked while you wait. Pensioner's meal is also very good value.

I'm so impressed, not only did The Street Fish Nar in Rustington stay open after starting to clean down to cook me fish and chips but they were so welcoming . My wife had the fish and was moved to say how smooth it was and not oily , well done and thank you, especially for opening on a Sunday. Highly recommended.

Freshly cooked Huss, absolutely delicious, chips lovely too. The Street fish shop was spotless, really nice staff, very friendly and polite. If you haven't been before, give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

4 year update: No more gluten free fish and chips, so I can no longer eat from here... sad. Management change.

They say the best Fish & Chips come from the north of our country. This is true.However the new owner has brought a little bit of northern magic south if his excellent Fish & Chips are anything to go by.Paul is a real character who knows his job inside out. Went here on Friday 22/4/22 evening time don’t like the new owner very rude and abrupt. And I’ve got to say the chips were the worst chips I’ve ever had not cooked properly and very pale horrible. My partner had a steak and kidney pie which was microwaved he said it was like eating rubber you couldn’t cut the pie it looked disgusting. They don’t do gravy anymore which was a let down all in all a total waste of money will not be returning

Just had fish and chips the price has jumped up a lot for smaller fish and wafer thin it used to be nice and thick . and it’s over cooked as it is so thin and very very greasy .i have been there before and was lovely but the last time before this it was like today but through maybe a one off so tried today but it was horrible will not be going back there again

The food here was great until a new owner took over for a few months, they didn't seem to last long but it has changed ownership again and I must say the food was really nice again! Lovely fish and chips, will be coming back again :D

Crispy rolls had no filling, fish was poor and soggy batter stuck to the paper, only reason for 2 stars is the chips were OK. Not a quality fish bar

Very tasty food -reasonably priced -will go again. Steak and kidney pie was lovely.

Slow service and poor practice leaving half the order out to get cold while waiting for chips to cook - apparently it’s a shock to need to keep cooking chips on a Saturday night! Batter on the fish soft and greasy, no sign of a crisp texture and worse on sausage which was tough as old boots but had been sitting out for 10mins+. Chips were good but not worth the wait, especially with a lovely place just round the corner at the top of Sea Lane, go there, I will next time.

Since being taken over you now have to wait until all the deliveroo and just eat orders are done as they now take priority, I won’t be going there any more for my overpriced soggy fish.

Just ordered from deliveroo and my first time at the chip shop and will be my last for sure!.. I had a large cod which was about 2mm thick the whole length and the batter was completely soggy with no crunch at all.. And the chips not sure if they had even seen the fryer and again completely soggy, to say I'm disappointed is an understatement will stick with Oscars from now on!

Thought we'd give another try after several month & didnt know was under new ownership. But we were shocked how bad the fish was! We ordered two large Cod £6.20 each & chips, chips where ok bit the fish over cooked and batter horrible! In fact probably the worst piece of fish we've ever eaten! They need to drastically improve or the new owners wont be in business long. We definitely won't get our food from here again!

Cod, haddock and chips ordered for delivery. Arrived very hot and absolutely delicious. First order from here and will definitely order again.

Ordered small cod and chips which were nice, the bigger issue was having to wait almost 30mins for them. I don't mind waiting a bit for food but the place was empty when I went in and then they just seemed to prioritize online orders over the people waiting inside as more people turned up and had to wait until the delivery drivers picked up their orders first. Not a great first visit.

Hmm, not sure what has happened. Had a delivery the other evening and was so disappointed, the fish was wrapped in a soggy greasy batter which was nasty! and the chips were not much better. Had fish and chips here a while and they were great… 🤔🤔

Unfortunately, what once served the best fish and chips in the area now serve the worst! Absolutely dreadful cod and chips last night. Crispy burnt cod and old fat tasting chips! A real shame after all the good work of the previous owner......

Unfortunately the cod from here tonight was inedible. It was extremely over cooked and because of this was so dry. We have had fish and chips from here for years, Andy really knew how to cook fish! I really thought with the previous owners showing...

Fish Arrived squashed and all the batter was stuck to the paper, the battered sausage was so greasy couldn’t eat it. Chips ok. Shame , if only they where served in boxes, they may not get soggy, steamed and squashed.

Batter on the fish was thin, not crispy and very fatty. The chips were soggy. Three of us experienced the same poor quality, what we did eat left left a fatty taste in your mouth, this was our first and last visit, not recommended.

Superb fish and chips and speedy service. Totally recommend this shop. It has a wide range of menu options always available.

Great traditional fish and chips. The medium cod was was a large portion. The batter crisp and the chips suitably chunky. Phoned in the order and ready to collect. Fab!

Good fish and chips. A little pricey with all/med/large cod going up a pound a size to £5.80 Cash only... Would be great to have the option but the owner is not keen to change now. Shame give current circumstances.

I've been waiting for them to open again after lockdown - quite simply the best fish 'n chips place in the area - and I've tried them all. The batter is thin, light and crispy, much much better than elsewhere. Makes a huge difference.

Batter is tasty and crisp. Chips always seem fresh, regardless of the time of visit. Decent portions. Fish is good, particularly the Haddock. Parking can be a problem.
