This place was quite recently renovated but since then it might be slightly tidier- a new paint job and a nice awning in the garden but nothing else has improved. The service was extremely slow and the food is very mediocre.

We were staying locally and needed somewhere to eat for dinner. The Butchers Arms was recommended so along we went. What a treat, welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was great. As we were there on a Monday evening we could take advantage of the Evening Menu two courses for £12.99. Amazing value, food was nicely presented, good selection and very tasty. Highly recommended.

Lovely atmosphere, Very friendly and welcoming staff. We had 2 steaks and a mixed grill. Quality of the meats was outstanding and portions great value for money. Shame not all pubs are like the Butchers!

Visited for lunch and a pint. Plenty of shade for the kids with kids games laid on to keep them occupied. Beer garden had really nice vibe and friendly service from the landlord and staff. Food was excellent and very good value. Plenty of car parking. Right in the centre of village.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Butchers Arms. Our party included two vegetarians and a vegan and the staff could not have been more helpful. Our requirements were carefully discussed and the meals served were delicious and generous. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we really appreciated the effort made to meet our requirements. Thoroughly recommend.

We were working in the are and called on the off chance to get a lunch time meal the ladies who were running the pub were very friendly, so much so we booked for Sunday lunch and we were very impressed

We found this pub very welcoming when we arrived, we felt a very cosy atmosphere. The staff were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was gorgeous and was not expecting such a broad choice of food ‘ proper village old menu’ fabulous service and we felt a custom was very valuable. So glad we found this gem. Food menu really good, food was so fresh and very generous portions. Staff and management are super friendly and nothing was to mix trouble. Food ranges from £5 - £14 for their steaks. So impressed with the Butchers Arms, that we booked for the following night and then again for Sunday lunch. If you are visiting British Museum of Warwick Castle, then stop here for lunch or dinner - you'll not be disappointed.

Can't speak highly enough of The Butchers Arms. Four of us spent a few days staying nearby and quiet frankly we have never come across a pub that is so accommodating. Two of us are GF and their menu offered so much choice. Tried out several dishes over the week and all were delicious!! Great price Great food. Great host who made us feel very welcome. What more can we say. Thank you so much for making a wet week very much better!!

Wow what a Lovely Pub 7 of us came for dinner tonight (20th feb) as we choose here to meet our friends on holiday from Newcastle What an amazing service from start to finish, such a warm welcoming, quirky pub Food was delicious and there was soo much, presentation was that of a top end restaurant but without the price tag Would highly recommend and we will definitely be coming back

Once again the Crawley Supporters were on their travels - this time to Walsall - so we wanted to find a new venue to stop at for our normal pre-match drink and buffet - we have found another gem - just off the M40 about 2 miles and what a great pub - we were all made very welcome by everyone, the bar service was very quick with all having their drink within minutes and the buffet provided was excellent and plentiful for all on the coach. To the Christening Party - we hope we didn't cause you any problems - I know it was a bit of a shock to see us all in the pub when you arrived for your celebration - hope you get something useful for the baby with the collection we made. That said we will visit again in the future - thanks to all - Alain

The whole team at The Butchers excelled themselves today. 21 of us were there for our annual Christmas meal. We appreciate that serving this many people in a coordinated and efficient way is no mean feat, but everything was perfect, service was excellent and the food was fabulous. We had a lovely afternoon, and perfect start to Christmas 2019 - thank you all!

I could spend hours listing all the great qualities of this restaurant but it would still not do this place justice. The food, wines, staff, location, cleanliness and service are all next to none. A must visit for special occasions.

Visited on a weekday evening - pub was reasonably busy and a few of us in the garden which is good for kids as there’s two age ranges or climbing frame which our 5 year old loved! Hubby had burger which he enjoyed and I had the chilli which was really good. Will definitely be back with friends when the weather warms up!

We live local and although admittedly don't get out as much as we could, we know we'll always get a warm welcome at the Butchers. The food is good and priced well for what you get. Beer garden in the summer is always packed you'll struggle to get a table. Nice play equipment in the garden too which is good for families. Dog friendly! I feel lucky to have such a great local pub in the village.

Our first visit today, what a find!! Lovely cosy pub, excellent service and incredible Sunday lunch. Possibly the best pub lunch any of the 4 of us have ever eaten. Fabulous value, quick (but unhurried) service and lovely atmosphere. No photos .... too busy enjoying lovely food!! Compliments to the Chef!!

We were staying locally for an event at Silverstone race track and was looking for an evening meal. Our first choice was closed so we arrived here to a warm welcome. There is a good varied choice of food at a reasonable price. I went for the beef lasagne which came with garlic bread and side salad and my wife had the hunters chicken which came with chips and side salad. Both were taste and hot. There was a good atmosphere for a small village pub.

Lived in the village for nearly 2 years now and we just had another great family evening at the butchers arms. Great selection of beers, ciders and ales. Staff always friendly and work hard. Food has always been good and plenty of options for kids as well. The outdoor area is fantastic and great play area for the kids and always clean. Always a safe and fun place to be so don’t hesitate and pop in for a visit

I accidentally clicked on a negative review to say it was helpful - it wasn’t. This pub is excellent. Brian & Selena have turned this pub around in such a positive way. I don’t go in very often but, every time I have, the level of customer service has been outstanding - the quality of food also!

Went on a Friday night for a meal with my partner. He has been a chef for 16 years and is notoriously hard to please!! Had delicious meals, plenty of food and reasonably priced. Service was efficient and friendly and atmosphere was lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening and will definitely be visiting again!!

Eaten here at least twice a month, never had a bad meal. Good honest pub grub at affordable prices, not fancy, but wholesome grub. Polite staff, good service. Great garden and play area. Only downside is the noise from the bar/TV area which can be a bit much when trying to enjoy a meal. Otherwise can recommend.

Fabulous food and friendly service. The team tries its very best to deliver a first class service which I'm my opinion is the best in the area. Sunday lunch is my favourite. Specials are always varied and delicious too.

Absolutely disgusting customer service not for the first time. Meal came which was not ordered. Was told they weren’t doing what I asked as decided to close kitchen early as staff tired from working late the previous evening. Refund refused and food still offered an hour later after being sat in the kitchen for that long.

This was our first time at the Butchers Arms we wanted somewhere to celebrate my husbands 65th birthday with the family, and chose here as they have a good play area in the garden for our 3 little granddaughters, but unfortunately the weather put a stop to that. But the meal was delicious everything piping hot and cooked lovely. There were 6 adults and 3 noisy little girls but the staff were very friendly and nothing too much trouble.

Visited here for the first time as it was advertised as "sausage night" well what a nice surprise really friendly staff and a great atmosphere, food was really good and the desserts were to die for especially the cadburys crunchie cheesecake - highly recommended and we will defiantly be going back

First review on trip & this gem is the reason for why, My self & my family was staying locally with family & was due to head home on the Sunday, we fancied a farewell meal & we was highly recommended this place. We booked a table for 6 adults & 2 children on arrival we was greeted by a lovely young lady called Katy who shown us to our table, she advised us on Specials & on local ales to try out which makes such a difference from the normal places in Hereford we are local too! We ordered our food starters & mains which were reasonably priced & delicious! The young man who served our table who I didn’t catch his name was so attentive couldn’t offer enough for us.

We wanted to book a table for 12 people, they offered us 12 pm or 2.30pm, they explained that it would be very busy at 12 so we opted for the 2.30. On arrival (5 minutes early) we were given a table for 11 people!

Booked a table for 12, arrived to a table for 11, a tad awkward for one who had to stand until a chair was found. Eleven roasts ordered, an hour later and still the food hadn’t arrived, eventually it arrived but unfortunately it was wrong for 50% of the order, and arrived in dribs and drabs. The last meal, lasagne, arrived an hour and a half later. Three meals had to be sent back as were wrong, they had to eventually write down what was wanted! I could go on and on as it was a disaster! Luckily we have a sense of humour....won’t visit again!

We used to go to the Butchers many years ago but as it is quite far from where we live we have not been for quite a few years. Some of my colleagues had talked about it recently. Some said it was superb, others said it had gone down hill. I'm not a keen lover of marmite but I can understand the fact that you can either love it or hate it.

This place is amazing I highly recommend it to everyone. Everyone will love it amazing starter, mains and deserts.

Popped in here the other night and we were really impressed with the friendly service. We ate here too and the fish and chips and the rump steak are very highly recommended. Delicious. We visited at lunchtime and had a lovely 2 course dinner for £6.95. My husband had the soup which was very nice and we both had ham egg and chips with salad. Very tasty. For pudding I had the trio berry a more which was amazing. See photo. Thatchers gold cider and a nice pint of bombardier finished the meal lovely. Staff very friendly and quick service. Old fashioned pub and nicely decorated. Would recommend.

Comfortable friendly family pub. Great roasts for Sunday Lunch. Highly recommended. Good beers on tap. Helpful staff. The meat was cooked to perfection and even the roast potatoes were good (a rarity in pubs).

We visited for a Mothers Day lunch and enjoyed a delicious well cooked Sunday roast. We had the choice of 3 different meats, the vegetables were cooked to perfection, and the Yorkshire pudding was great. The sweets were to die for too. There was a really lovely atmosphere, the pub was really busy and the service was spot on , the staff were so friendly and helpful. Thank you to you all, we will be coming back really soon.

It was a really a flavoured Sunday Roast with three meats cooked beautifully. Proper Roasted spuds Crispy on the outside fluffy on the in Creamy Mash potatoes the Gravy came in a boat tasted meaty I had the lot and loads of Vegetable's. The Staff always checking we were ok for everything, more Gravy for example, All nine of us cleared the plates we loved it,Lovely people defiantly go again. Mike Forster

This is a local pub with a lot going for it !beer and wines are well kept plus food is great.i have been using it for the past four years since it had a re-fub staff are friendly and a atmosphere to match.please stop off and see for yourself :-)

Young children in bar area, unsupervised by parents or staff as they endlessly went in and out of the muddy back garden, bringing cold air in. The staff were charmless, and clearly would rather have been anywhere rather than working in a pub that Saturday night. Drinks served in dirty, irregular shaped glasses. A real 'locals' pub, where outsiders seemed to be an object of distain. An elderly local man was 'hawking' clothes for sale in the bar, which was highly irritating. We had been here twice as it is local to us, but never again.

Cant understand the couple of negative reviews made recently on this site as we have eaten here many times since it was refurbished about 4yrs ago and it's genuinely always been excellent. Battered Haddock is best we have found anywhere in recent years, and there is enough of an interesting choice in the main & specials menus to keep most folks happy.2 real ales well kept and both food & drinks are very sensibly priced. Booking is wise as it fills up quick Fri - Sun. This is a proper local with well above average pub grub and friendly dedicated landlords.

Unfortunately we came here as a group of 15 for our works xmas meal and had a terrible time. Most of our meals were served with something missing and when this was raised with the staff they were severely put out. One of our party had no pigs in blankets so the staff brought him one in a dish. So many problems with the food but the most worrying is that 5 people complained the next day about being up all through the night.I really should have gone back and made a proper complaint as I foolishly selected the location for out works party.Certainly won't return or recommend.

Called in for lunch and were really impressed. Good choice, good value in a really nice village pub. Could even see tv from table so could watch football without annoying my wife. Will be back in the near future.

Visited today as a family of four. Kids aged 10 and 12. My wife and I ordered a sunday roast, as did my daughter. We enjoyed the meals however the meat was disappointing. Most thinly sliced pork and beef. Almost difficult to tell which was which. We eat out often and in comparison this was the worst meat. On the other side the rest was very well cooked.£35 for four meals and four soft drinks. Service was pleasant and timely. Not a bad price for this area.

This is my local pub and we visit frequently. It serves good and tasty food, good honest food not fine dining - it is a village pub and manages to provide a good range at reasonable prices. Live music is sometimes on offer but I find the venue is too small to accommodate it and it is too loud. A good variety of draught drinks as well limited wine choices but there are choices.

This is a genuine local pub serving its community and serving well above average food at very reasonable prices. Good real ales and friendly folks. Best to book a table Friday - Sunday as it is increasingly becoming a destination pub in the area. Good mix of standards and less common options on the menu along with some very interesting specials. Haddock & chips was best I've had anywhere for a long time!

Visited on the '2-course Steak dinner for £20' night and had a lovely meal, that was well worth the money. Steak lovely. Had home-made pate for starter (suggestion- because of the size of the pate portion a couple of extra pieces of toast would be welcome)Pub itself is a lot better inside than it looks from the outside, so don't be put off by the pics!!Looked at normal menu whilst we were there and some excellent choices on there at really good prices.Definitely going back.

My family visit this pub quite regular, however i have only been a couple of times - I have to say on each occassion it has certainly been a worthwhile visit!! The food is delicious, piping hot and plentiful, and the staff are very inviting and friendly.I would definitely return to this pub and would recommend to all!!

Quite often we call in for a drink or some food and have alway found the staff to be very attentive and the food has always been of a good quality. Well worth a try if you haven't been before. Lovely beer garden too

Getting close to 1 o'clock, looking for somewhere to stop for a light lunch en route from the SW to Nottingham and saw a sign on the main road. Found the Butchers Arms, no problem parking. Had a really excellent sandwich, generous helpings and crackingly good value. Staff extremely helpful and obliging. Will call again next time I'm passing.

Summer running club pub run which involve a run round the country side and usually a handful of chips and sandwiches. At the butchers arms we got a warm welcome, masses of food including lashings of delicious home made lasagne.

This was our second visit for lunch , one weekday and one Sunday. The food was excellent at a fair price and the staff friendly with great service.

Called here with friends for lunch during a walk on a Monday. Big mistake, kitchen closed on a Monday. Stayed for a drink, pub was pleasantly furnished with just a sole drinker to keep us company. To make things worse the menus were out and the food looked very reasonable in both price and options. Maybe I should have read the internet a bit more closely when doing research. Will return on another day.

What a hidden gem lovely restaurant could not fault it. Prawn cocktail lovely Lamb Shank wonderful staff extremely helpful . Had crumble a memorable meal highly recommend. Don't read negative reviews highly recommend. This was our mums birthday treat she loved it.

Had an impromptu Friday lunch with the family and very pleasant meal, called to check availability and arrived 15 minutes later.Pub was quiet with a few other diners in at lunchtime. Service was good and prompt and the menu choice "light bites" was varied. we had the sausage which was served in a delicious gravy, the battered fish was excellent, and the Lasagna was very tasty. Five stars for the meal and the service. The meals are not massive portion, but ideal for a midday meal!

We initially chose this as it was good central location to meet up (and very close to the M40), but also based on the positive TripAdvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. We had a party of eight and everyone felt they had a good choice and were very pleased with their food, including the four veggies in the group (a choice of 4 mains). Service was prompt and very friendly.

Another great Sunday Lunxh. We have visited this restaurant once before no the lunch again was fabulous. Unfortunately we didhave to wait a long time even though our table was pre booked. However we did receive apologies and glasses of rose champagne as well. Good choices on the menu. Staff were attentive, firiendly and professional. Starters were lovely and main course was great. Desserts were divine. Will definitely revisit.

I have previously avoided this pub because of the Sky Sports banners outside. That normally means that it is not my sort of place. Today I had a very pleasant surprise. Warm welcome, good atmosphere and a clean smart pub. The menu is not just the usual pub regulars but offers a wide and interesting choice including many vegetarian and gluten free dishes. My meal was well cooked, well presented and professionally served. The cheddar and cauliflower soup was absolutely perfect. The large portion of vegetarian nut roast was tasty but could have done with a vegetarian gravy. I had no room for a dessert but the choice is attractive. Prices are very reasonable and it is a place that I will go back to. For the summer there is plenty of seating on the lawn and a children's play area.

We popped in for a quick lunch last week as we were passing the village and were really happy. The food was served piping hot and very promptly and tasted great too, what more can you ask. The pub had a lovely atmosphere, very friendly and also had a lovely secure outside area for families with a play area in the ample sized garden with loads of good quality outside seating. We will definitely be going back. A great find.

After several disappointing visits to The Malt Shovel in Gaydon as a half-way meeting point for my friend and I, we decided to try Bishop's Itchington and gave this place a go. In summary, we found The Butchers Arms to be a very friendly and cosy pub and I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit. We were blown away by the fantastic value of the lunchtime light lunch menu - 3 courses for under £8! I opted for a starter of chicken wings, the classic ham egg and chips and polished it off with a sizeable slab of warm chocolate fudge cake with icecream; I usually sneak in a snap of my food but it was so tasty that I'm afraid I didn't get that far! I was very impressed with the food and really enjoyed each course, even more so considering that x2 three course meals and x2 rounds of drinks came to £24, which I consider to be fantastic value. I didn't get to see much of the pub other than the main bar or what the beer garden was like, but many of the patrons had headed outside to enjoy the sunshine. The landlord was incredibly welcoming, as was the trade in the bar when we arrived. Will I return? It's a resounding yes, and probably for a Sunday roast next time which did look quite good.It's a bit of a no brainer!

Visiting the area we happened on this pub at lunchtime and decided to pop in. The atmosphere was pleasant and the landlord very welcoming. We ordered two meals from the lunch menu at very reasonable prices. The meals were delicious, if there was a fault it was that there was too much - but nevertheless we managed it! Booked for a family party of 11 on a Sunday lunchtime. Atmosphere is relaxing and friendly, staff are smiley and helpful. All meals came out together and correct (not easy with such a big order), piping hot and delicious ! Extra gravy and veg without asking and we were offered a variety of sauces.Generous portions and fantastic value for money. Consistently good every time we go and I have no hesitation in recommending it to family and friends. Can't wait to go again !

We ordered a range of food including the Sunday roast and all was cooked well, fresh and tasty, great portion size and the menu had a good choice. Food was very good value. Decor smart and tasteful. We were a party of 27 having a three course meal. From the moment of entering it was a fantastic atmosphere. Clean premises, friendly and helpful staff. Food came out perfectly timed hot and tasty. There is nothing I can fault from my experience hear. This was my second meal at the Butchers Arms and I will return. Excellent value for money. My children were looked after well to.

went on sunday to have roast dinner....and was given mash potatoe and some warm runny cabbage stuff to go with it! the yorkshire pudding was half cooked as well. staff was nice probably to make up for the awful food. will not be returning ever. hundreds of flies were also on the bench\tables outside...
