Burgers And Brews in Winchester

Newly moved to this area and a first visit to Carterton with my wife. A lively town and no doubting the proximity to RAF Brize Norton as very large four engined aircraft were constantly flying overhead. Decided to try Burgers and Brews for lunch and it proved to be an excellent choice. An outside table in the sun and excellent, prompt and efficient service from Olivia. The steak burger, chips and salad deal was a wise choice. A mountainous bap crammed with delicious minced steak and layers of tasty extras. The chips were magnificent and a credit to the chef - crispy and full of flavour on the outside and soft in the middle. All this and a fresh, crunchy salad served in an attractive dish and you can tell we will be back again.

Fantastic welcome from Meghan and team, very friendly from the get go. Drinks and meal brought out in a a timely fashion and everything delivered with a smile. Food was delicious and draught ale hit the spot.

We were viewing a house in the area on a Saturday, so we thought we would see what one of our new local places to eat would be like. Pros- -The food was very tasty! 9/10 for fries & katsu burger, 7/10 for 'loaded fries' were tasty fries and decent beef... But that was it just 2 slabs on beef on top of fries.. Cons- -The plastic basket the food came in was lined with a thin paper that disintegrated underneath food, meaning you end up eating the paper!? - Staff were all around 18, which is normally fine, but basic service skills were lacking.. a thank you after paying instead of just walking off immediately would have been nice. When you give customers food you should ask if they'd like any sauces or more drinks, they did not. Another customer received the wrong burger and was told it would be 10min wait to get the correct one. When staff bought out just his fries (so he had something to eat- good idea) he asked for a specific sauce, which the server said he had to pay for, which I the customer then said 'you have already made me wait a very long time for the incorrect burger' but the server insisted he would have to pay for the sauce he wanted. The customer ended up just saying forget the burger and just paid for the fries- I think the least they could have done was offer him a free drink or give him the sauce/dip he wanted for free!!? - The servers were swearing and talking about how they would 'kill themselves' if they had to work until 'close'. There were kids in the cafe at the time... -One server in particular was sighing a lot loudly and acting uncomfortably stressed. Not a smile in sight from any of them!

Not 1 visit but 2 consecutive trips. We were looking for breakfast and having tried the nearby cafe and ignored by the staff for 10 minutes we left and came across to Burgers and Beers. The young lady couldn't have been more attentive in a fairly busy restaurant, and was more than grateful when we offered to swap tables for her to seat a table for 6. I had the full breakfast and a coffee. My wife had avocado and bacon on toast. Both meals we absolutely delicious, and at £24.00 for the 2 of us certainly worth the money. We returned the next morning and on a local recommendation had the Breakfast burger. All I will say is WOW and thankyou. Well worth the visit and next time we are here we may try the actual beer and burgers.

Lovely relaxed place for a drink, coffee, a snack, or a meal. I go regularly and the food is always freshly cooked and delicious, with a variety of choices. You can choose from a beef, chicken, or veggie burger (there are different choices for each of these, such as grilled or crispy fried buttermilk for the chicken, or spicy bean, Quorn, or Moving Mountains for the vegetarian) and they come with well balanced and innovative toppings. They also always have specials on which are interesting and add variety to the menu. The coffee is excellent, coming from the local UE Coffee Roastery. They also have cinnamon buns from local bakery Hana’s Sourdough which are absolutely wonderful. They serve various alcoholic and soft drinks, including milkshakes, hot drinks, and beer from local breweries. This is a fairly small location which is baby and child friendly. Staff are always welcoming and it’s a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Prices are very good value as portions are generous and filling. Well worth a visit.

A somewhat off the cuff meal out with parents and two boys. The eldest had just turned 10 and he fancied burgers. The staff were brilliant and accommodating. The burgers and fries were simply amazing. A great choice of fillings and even style and shape of the patties. Fries came in different styles with different toppings. I was the only one to have a chicken burger and it was superb. The boys had desert ice creams which blew them away with toppings choices. Apparently American service personal at the base love it. I can see why. Must be home from home.

We came for a family meal, staff were friendly, good variety of options in the menu. Food was good! We liked the fact that we could choose from the different types of patties. The only reason it’s not a 5* is because the burgers were a little too greasy for our liking.

Popped in for lunch today with a friend. The menu was amazing. Hard to choose so we will have to be back again to try other menu items like the bhaji burger and the spiced lamb burger! But I happily settled for the hot clucker crispy chicken burger with chilli honey and bacon with a side of macaroni cheese and my friend had the triple stack American burger with bacon and cheese. Everything was amazing, staff were lovely and we can't wait to go back. Also noticed that they do £10 burger deals on a Wednesday.

Really disappointing dinner tonight! We had 2 different varieties of burgers and both were plastered in mustard. All we could taste is mustard, and greasy taste from fries. Service was great, but food lacking

A very nice lady served us very friendly. The food we had a classic burger and fries was excellent one of my top 5 burgers for sure .

My son and I went for tea. I had a chicken burger and fries my son had a spicy beef burger and fries. The pints we had were Hawkstone. The food was cooked to perfection and everything was tasty and well seasoned.

Based on a friend's recommendation, we decided to give it a try and it certainly exceeded our expectations! The service provided by a friendly waitress last night was exceptional ( Wednesday 12th June) and the burgers we had were the best we've ever tasted. We highly recommend this place and are looking forward to returning to try their breakfast menu.

A very good breakfast meal. We have been around the Carterton area for some time and would say the meal was the best we have had. ( Lechlade, Witney, Burford). Only one thing that was out for me was the 1 butter with the toast that was very quickly sorted when another was asked for.

I ordered the benedict burger. It arrived in a plastic tray on some greaseproof paper, but it looked really nice. Sadly, my burger meat was tasteless, had soaked the bottom bun in fat and was not seasoned. The steak, whilst cooked well, was also unseasoned and flavourless. I couldn't finish the burger. The chips are amazing though! The server asked me what sauces I wanted and then promptly went and took an order at another table. I waited a while, then went and got my own sauce. After we stopped eating the server asked us how our food was, when told it was bland she said she would pass the information to the cook and then we had no further interaction or feedback. I paid and left, I won't be returning, an expensive mistake.

Looks inviting from the outside but poor customer service and acknowledge the customer at their convenience. Undercooked chicken wings swimming in barbecue sauce, cheap ingredients, blue cheese burger was just a cheap squirty sauce flavour inside burger. Inside was atmosphere less. Plastic table cloth was dirty. Really disappointing considering the prices.

We have enjoyed everything about this restaurant - tasty food, high-standard customer service, good choice of crafted beers. Will be back next time we are in Carterton town centre.

Really good burgers and a great specials menu that changes regularly. Burgers all come with fries which are always fresh and good quality

We have been her a few times, everytime the staff have always been personable and super friendly. The food is exactly what you would expect from the menu and always delivers on taste. I really enjoy the personal touch we have recieved especially having a 2yo that is lively. Brilliant little place with great staff. Highly recommend.

Excellent burgers, really good fries and fantastic service. Prices good too. Better than 5 Guys despite being a similar price. Strongly recommend.

The service and the presentation of the food was beautiful. But the food it’s self was incredible. Will be back for sure! 🍔🍟

The crowning glory were the onion rings! Also good milk shakes. Great place if like us you were passing through Carterton on the way to somewhere.

We’ve eaten from here many times over the last couple of years. Always great food. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Take way or eat in is a great option. They also put on music on the square which is great for Carterton and brings a real community vibe. Hope fully they will be here for many more years to come! Well done to Sam and the team

We stopped by for a meal without booking and the wait staff were very welcoming and found us a table. We had a burger each and shared dirty fries, all the food was excellent. The menu has so many good options, it was hard to choose! Good selection of bottled beers too.

The name tells it all Burgers and Brews! We enjoyed takeaway. Weekly they have a new burger on the menu. Our food was tasty.

The coffee is amazing. Had a black Americano, the crema looked like cappuccino. Lovely service and staff too. Why on earth do you have to write 100 words before you can leave a review!!!!!!!

Finally got around to visit burgers and brews for lunch. Walking by,the smell was amazing, was able to sit outside ordered a couple of burgers and a couple of sides. The burgers were very meaty, the accompanying side were delicious as well. Will be back soon.

We have been meaning to try the restaurant for ages and managed it this month. Burger, special fries and burnt ends were amazing! We will be back :)

Quick service and great quality food. They made a mistake with our order but were quick to fix it. Nice facilities. Table was a little sticky.

The visit on a Saturday was first experience. The food was very good and good value for money. The only negative was it didn’t feel that cleaning and safety was a priority, especially the floor was very slippy.

Best burger I've had in a long time. The German fries were delicious. The portions are generous so be sure to visit with an empty belly. Service was excellent too. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. It was popular so be sure to book.

We had two of the weekly special burgers, sharer fries and burnt ends from here last night. The food was incredible, portions generous and the service friendly and efficient. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Ordered from here for first time last weekend after lots of raving recommendations. We were not disappointed, we had the Hot Rodeo burger omg so tasty !!! So much flavour would definitely recommend. One star dropped as burgers were squashed in bag just wrapped in...

Had the Tower Burger, Hot Clucker and the burnt ends tonight. There were a couple of teething problems but this is only to be expected from a new business. However, we will certainly be ordering from here again! The burgers were fantastic; tasty, filling and...
