Terrible service and food not fit for a soup kitchen, really horrible experience would never go there again, burger king has went down hill

What can I say, one of the worst eating experiences of my life. Staff who don’t care, food that was practically inedible and it costs a fortune. A mistake we will not make again.

Do not go here. I am suffering from horrendous food poisoning after eating here. Either or both bad food and unhygienic tables.

Absolutely terrible. Staff rude and unhelpful and slow. Forgot my dip. Half effort made when I was the only one here.

Well it wasn't bizzy so the food came reasonably fast shame it wasn't correct but in the spirit of being polite and not making a scene I let it slide. So I then ordered the same burger again and it came wrong once more, this time I returned it and complained to be fair it was sorted. The staff definitely need better training shocking to get something wrong twice

Everything about this was disgusting, to pay 25 quid for two very cold and dry burgers and chips isna disgrace. As previously mentioned AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I should have got a sandwich from m&s!

The worst whopper chips and onion rings ever - do not use this place. Burger dry no flavour. Chips old and dry. Onion rings stuck together and no flavour. Avoid !

Even when the place is quiet it seems to take forever to get served. Given it’s a station when people are in a rush it’s awful! Sometimes quicker to go out the station than wait to be served here

Absolutely nothing good about this place! Counter assistant picking litter off the floor and then returned to his workstation without washing his hands.Proceeded to chat to a friend whilst ignoring me and eventually took my order sullenly.No coffee available either.Sat down in the empty establishment apart from pigeons swooping through with one eating scraps from a nearby tabletop. This applies to the adjacent bar also so be warned!

We were served straight away but there was a language barrier with the staff and I felt rude but had to raise my voice considerably for the staff to understand. There was a considerable wait for the food even though we were stood at the counter and could see our burgers. The chips were stone cold. One of the burgers had no cheese on despite ordering a cheeseburger. There were pigeons on and around the tables trying to get food and mouse/rat droppings in the light fixtures. I'd just avoid and get a sandwich from the M&S next door. Terrible establishment.

Disgusting cold food, rude staff, grubby seating area, needs shutting down ! Probably a health risk, what with pidgeons inside god only knows what’s lurking out the back. Never again !!!!!! EVER 🤮

Wrong order rude staff don’t give a damn how people get their service .... I would love to complain to manager but can’t be bothered

Absolutely disgusting. Over priced filthy place. After eventually getting our food we sat down to eat, we gave up after a few minutes. Pigeons flying all around the restaurant, trying to take food from our hands, sitting on tables pecking away at crumbs. Staff didn't even wipe the tables after getting rid of the birds. Soon as they was gone they came back in. Close the big double doors at the entrance for crying out loud. Its NOT necessary to have them open like that. Will NEVER return. See our photos.

I waited 20 minutes after placing my order and raising my concerns with the girl that served me before receiving my food. Plenty of people who ordered after me received their food in a reasonable time. When I raised my concerns about my wait the girl had said that she had given my order to someone else, when I complained to her about it I finally got my food. Whilst she was finally collecting my order to give to me she and another were audibly talking s**t about me and my concerns. I highly that I'll be returning to this establishment.

Awful experience. Only two young guys on the tills, who were painfully slow and inexperienced. The man in the kitchen visibly did not care about what he was doing and was throwing the chips into the pass area with an attitude. After a long wait, I received my order to find the meal was cold. The burger was inedible. The place is unclean and I genuinely think it needs serious review as it is not fit for purpose. Disappointing and such a shame.

Disgusting food ! Bread tasted like it had been frozen the defrosted quickly, it was dry as sticks. Burgers poor Chips poor Will never use again !!

There were at least 3 mice running around in the ceiling lights, I shudder to think about what is going on in areas you can't see. A real health risk.

Since BK shut their Falkirk branch I can only get my fix in Waverly. A 10 min wait for what I though was a fresh bacon double cheeseburger. Opened it and it was warmer outside!

£3,39 for a regular, ''saver'' cheeseburger! In addition to that, greasy and unappetising 12-pack of onion rings, with 9 rings inside. Avoid at all costs, there is McDonald on the other side of the station, do that.

I was quoted 3.59 for a simple cheese burger, not a whopper or Big Mac, just a cheese burger. Same order is 99p at McDonalds. Save ur money and eat somewhere else! A disgrace that they get away with that pricing; Shame on Edinburgh Waverly!!!

I visited this Burger King this week the experience was terrible. Despite that they charge more than a normal Burger King very slow service, the place was filthy and quality of food was disgusting as it was lukewarm.

I was disappointed in the service. The tables were not clean I found snot in the tissue dispenser. Food was not cooked properly. Would not recommend.

Whilst the food was the same as any other Burger King, the whole place was messy, staff chatted, things went uncollected, no emphasis on making this a pleasant experience.

so if you want to share your food with the pigeons this is the place for you and if you have vouchers that you can use for money of burger king products this place tells you it is a franchise and does not except them and the food is more expensive then any other burger king because of it "prime" location

Just picked up a takeaway to go on the train home. As soon as we got it we were straight into the train. Our burgers were stone cold as were the chips. Never again!!!!!

Not enough staff, takes a lifetime to get served and food is average at best. It’s expensive and lives off fact it’s in station, you can get better food at a much better price in Waverley mall just up the steps

had bus tickets that said we would get a chicken royal meal and small fries for £1.99 and there were two of us so we thought why not, we got there to be told that this particular burger king was a "different franchise" and they werent accepted here. 3 burger kings in edinburgh, with the other two being meals out of town. This was a complete joke and ended up having to spend £14 for a large meal which was small. will not be returning to burger king again

Nous sommes arrivé non loin de l'heure de fermeture. Nous n'avons donc pas pu nous installer en salle et avons dû manger dans la gare. Le service à cependant été agréable. Il n'y a pas de burger végétarien. Dommage... Les portions sont copieuses et les prix abordables.

Nous sommes arrivés à 21h et lorsque nous avons été servi, il était impossible de manger sur place alors que le restaurant ferme à 23h ! Nous avons du manger sur les bancs de la gare. Cependant, le staff était polie et sympathique.

The place is filthy with pigeons flying in and out. Wandering about the floor, the seats, the tables and the food trollies. I asked a girl why they did not close the double doors that were open all the time. She said something about Waverly Station had told them to keep them open. I do not believe this for a moment. Do not go there, unless you want some kind of disease.

Service was pretty slow for how quiet the place was, however staff were polite and friendly but that’s where all the good ends. Given location, expected to be pricier than other restaurants, however extortionate prices, food was of average standard, pretty bad that for a paying customer there are no toilets on site and instead having to pay to use the train station ones. Place felt quite grubby although staff doing their best to keep it clean but when there is flying pigeons flying around the eating area, it’s quite an uncomfortable environment to eat in. Usually love Burger King but was quite disappointed by my experience at this one.

Ive always been honest in every review ive done on here but this place is without doubt the worst thing ive ever seen.My wife and i were in Edinburgh for a funeral and on the way home called into this place for a quick meal before we caught our train home.we sat and watched pigeon after pigeon fly/walk in here and land on tables and not 1 menber of staff did a single thing about it and please dont say that if they saw them then they would have done something about it.I watched your staff stand and look while they were flying about so they saw them and did nothing.Its disgusting and shouldnt ever happen in a resturant.I take it you have no idea just how dangerous these pigeons droppings are for humans as if you did then you would have the big massive doors you have closed and not let them into your resturant.I dont expect you to do anything as this has probably been a norm for years but i just hope it gets the attention of some sort of manager and they get this big problem sorted out pronto before someone gets really ill or even dies.My honest view is that you've got more chance winning the lotto 6 times in a row than me ever eating in 1 of your places again as this one falls well below any health and safety standard ive ever seen.Im also going to drop a line to health authority in Edinburgh as this needs stopping and stopping quick.

Todo el ambiente nos sentimos como a nadie le importó, estaba en control y muy antihigiénicos. El lugar requiere una visita comercial para mirar los estándares de higiene. Lo siento, pero no volveré a comer aquí.

Supposed to be open until 11pm, but closed and cleaning up at 9:25pm tonight. Really disappointing at Edinburgh Festival time. I can only assume they ran out. Strongly suggests poor inventory management ☹️

We eat here prior to travelling home after a day in the city with our grandchildren, their choice supposed to be a treat.Long ques, exspensive bill, dirty tables, not enough staff, old food trays/packaging left on the serving counter! A member of the kitchen staff came through the dining area, his uniform was filty. There were pigeons wandering around under tables picking up scraps. Finally to top off a very unpleasant experience, the food was inedible, chicken like tasteless cardboatd, cold chips and flavourless burgers, just more food waste for the bin!DISGUSTED.

We normally like BK better then McD but boy this was bad. Terrible service. They made a mess of my order of Double Whopper with cheese as I received double cheese burger instead. After my protest and another 10 minutes later this was corrected. Further the bread was stale the patty was dry and the soda was as flat as Kansas. The restaurant itself was very dirty.

I have not eaten any burger king in my home country for a long time. I missed the taste of burger king. And so I ordered the expensive one 'Augus Burger'. However, the actual outlook is totally different from the photos in menu & the beef is very dry, seemed not freshly cooked. Later on, when I ordered 'Whopper', it tasted much better. I guess most people usually ordered Whopper instead of Augus.

The food was great quality, no worries there. In fact it was one of the freshest burger king meals I've had in a long time! The problem here was the pigeons, who were coming in to feed off the food trays that hadn't been cleared away. Now luckily I'm not easily put off my food, and so it was an annoyance more than anything - although obviously a hygiene issue. To me it seems like it would have been easily avoided by A) clearing away the old food and B) shutting the partician so that the birds didnt have access in the first place. Will still come back though for food quality.

This chain has really went down the drain. Hard pressed to find one in Scotland, and when we finally get to one the experience was dismal. We waited for 20 minutes waiting for an order we had placed only to find our server had went "walk-abouts" and didn't tell anyone else about our order. It seems the employees taking orders just want to have a laugh and not want to take paying customers seriously. After being asked if we were being served we had told them that we had been waiting for a while, only to be told, by a giggling youngster, it will take a further 2 minutes because "something is wrong".When we got our order from the initial order taker, we were passed it with no apology or any other acknowledgement. Unable to use food vouchers, even though they were still valid and in date! Manager informed us this burger king didn't accept the vouchers, as they didn't have the button on the till for the vouchers. He also said that the Waverley train station and Edinburgh airport burger king do not accept the vouchers and can't use them there. The vouchers does not say that and neither does the website! I checked the main burger king website - 'Terms and Conditions' policy is 2 years out of date! Stated 2015. Myself and my partner thought the vouchers were false advertising as we couldn't use them at this establishment and were very disappointed that we got refused to use the vouchers to get food! The main website should get updated and CLEARY state on the vouchers where you can use them!

What can you say about a quick Burger King burger? It's cheap fast food. Ordered a barbecue burger so had to wait by the counter while it was made, however it was still pretty quick. Service was okay and the place was busy. It was average. I got what I expected.

Just what you would expect from Burger King, considering that it is located inside a train station l thought that the service was OK, just what l needed before that long journey to London

We were in a rush and just needed to grab a quick bite so we stopped at a recognizable fast-food place, Burger King. We ordered onion rings, chicken nuggets and a burger. When we sat down to eat, we saw that the onion rings were a grey/green colour. We were shocked, did not eat them and tried to move past it so we could get some food into us. The chicken nuggets were passable but my husband looked a little green when he was eating the burger. We did not have time to run back and complain and the staff did not seem to understand English the first time.

Since we had only a day in Edinburgh we couldn't afford to spend a lot of time in a restaurant, so Burger King was the best for us, good value for money and we were satisfied

Had problems to find it, because you need to go to the waiting room. The Burger King itself is good as always, you need to try the Angus Burger.

There's only one option for the vegetarians that too a burger which tastes soo bad.Not an option for the vegetarians at all.

Can't comment on the food as we waited so long after I ordered 2 drinks that we'd have missed our train if I hadn't asked for my money back. Service was incredibly slow, staff chatting amongst each other and standing with their back to the ever expanding queue of customers while waiting for chips to be ready (after having taken 3 orders one after the other) Given it's in a train station I'd have expected it to be quicker service, not a 15 minute wait for 2 drinks. Awful. Avoid. There's an m&s food next door. Try that.

First time having a quick and convenient Burger King in Edinburgh but it was the end of our stay here for the festival season and a cheeck Chicken Royale was looking mighty fine at the time.Just in the nick of time and was a surprisingly hot and fresh bite that kept me satisfied all the way back to England.There goes a weekend of fast food and now it's back to reality and an everyday battle to have a 'balanced diet'.Thanks BK.

Having ordered my food and having a coffee was somewhat put off and left food after seeing a pigeon eating of a nearby table as per pictures. And no staff around in forecourt to clean tables all this does is attract the issue.

I had the tasty chicken in a bun with chips and coke.The service was friendly and prompt as it has to be in a train station!

I came here for a quick take away before my train. Only ordered one burger, no drink or fries. I think a trainee was servicing as they had to keep checking things. I have no problem with staff training, but at busy times someone should shadow them if they need help. Only just caught my train. Food was the usual good standard. I still prefer the old style sesame seed buns.

Very poor. Full menu advertised. After waiting in a long queue, ordering meal and ready to pay, then told there are will be no fries. This isn't new, but they let people queue and order before telling them. So after queuing for ten minutes, either walk out or pay full price for half a meal. And the burger was lacklustre. Rip off.

Tables were dirty, with the previous diners leftovers, service was abrupt and verging on rude. When we eventually got our burgers, it really wasn't worth the wait, worst whopper burger I have ever eaten! Roll was stale and crumbly, burger was cold and there was obviously no care taken while making it. Chips and chicken nuggets were also cold. Will definitely not be back.Trolleys of empty wrappers and trays scattered everywhere. Awful.

Irene, the staff probably she had a bad day because so serious and rude. The place look dirty and the tray do not have any paper to cover and the tray still a little bit wet and my fries touching it. I dont like my food touch the tray. Denise was so nice!

The place is dirty, the waiting times are appalling, the attitude of the staff is dreadful. The prices are also way too high for the quality of the food. We were luckily not waiting for a train having just arrived in Edinburgh but I believe we would have missed it had we been trying to catch a train as it took 12 minutes to get served then another 15 minutes to order the food as the staff were talking amongst themselves, avoiding eye contact and getting upset when I couldn't understand what they were saying. There was also no apology for the wait. We won't be back.

Here's an idea, try a wee bit cheer. Nice photos of Edinburgh on the wall, won't cost much at all. Felt sorry for the staff, not s cheery looking gaff. Without being rude, food not good. I gave the one in Glasgow a Ten, but I won't be back to this one again. If this is a franchise, it's a bad surprise. If it's corporately run, something positive needs to be done!!!!

Service was atrocious and slow by 2 male staff who didn't look like they were enjoying their job.Very robotic repertoire with no banter at all.The burgers were dried out and flung into the box.had the audacity to ask if I wanted a sauce for an extra 25p ? After waiting a very long time for our meal we had to clear & almost wipe our own table. Trolleys and tables piled with discarded food trays & pigeons stroll in & out eating food. We asked if someone could come and clear the table. Someone shouted through to the back kitchen and eventually a shuffling scruffy person came with a cloth so wet it was dripping on to the floor as he walked. Consequently the table was left sopping wet, and all he did with the bits of food on the table was to wipe them all on to the floor. Why did the food take so long to come? I believe they now 'cook to order' instead of having it all ready as they used to, they have a good enough turnover to still do this. I cannot count the number of people who were told it would be 15 mins or more before their order was ready. Most left without placing an order. Come on B.K. this is Scotland's international showcase station, step up and improve your part of it, it's shameful.

As i have to wait for almost 45 mins to catch my next train, i have been eating in here for months now. Mostly i have Chicken Royal. Today i asked for extra mayonaise on my CR and i think whole the mayonaise bottle has been poured on my sandwich. It looked absolutely horrible. More mayonaise and less chicken. Because of the mayonaise my chicken was sliding down and whole my sleeve got dirty. Christ! I was eating in the station and not in my house. Felt like an absolute nuts asking for more mayonaise!

A very busy BK in a very busy place. The usual variety of food with some additions unique to the UK. In all a cost effective meal!
