Best Vietnamese food I've had in UK! Portions were generous, service was stellar and they have vegan pho and other great veggie options. I wish there was more places like it.

Sorry but the guy serving was absolutely amazing. Great and welcoming. But the food and I mean all of it is totally tasteless and bland. Also the prices are wild. £8 for salt and pepper chips???. Crispy chilli beef had no beef just strips of batter in sauce . Paid £16 for something off of the rice main and it's literally boiled rice and a meat. None of the dishes were good. Sadly will not be back. You need to lower your prices too. At this price your challenging really amazing restaurants with miles better food

This was one of the few authentic Vietnamese restaurants around this area. I would definitely recommend the Wok Noodles and the Crispy Pancakes as a starter. Staff were very friendly and service was very quick. Would definitely recommend

A charming little Vietnamese restaurant in trendy Cockfosters. We all decided to have Pho which you more or less have to when dining Vietnamese and we weren't disappointed. A steaming hot, tasty broth with loads of raw (cooked available) slices of beef together with the customary beanshoots, lime and chillies. Mint was offered in lieu of Thai basil but it gave a pleasant aroma and taste to the soup. We also tried the excellent salt and pepper squid to start with as well as their house cheun fun rolls. Service was excellent and prices very reasonable for an excellent bowl of Pho.

What a great place. One thing to note, lots of gluten free dishes but some came with sauces that may contain gluten.

Went to Viet Chefs for dinner today, and it was absolutely delicious! Lovely atmosphere, great service and really delicious food. Will definitely go back. It reminds me of home.

We went there today. Lovely place to eat with friendly, knowledgeable staff that know the menu well. I love that no one tries to rush you so you can have a conversation and eat at leisure. Prices are reasonable too.

Foods very good went twice but then got a takeaway which was not good at all prawns and squid were very soggy and noodles watery and tasteless. and also expect to pay less but for5 people spent £125 which is a bit much

Very bland..no flavours even the curry sauce plus it was watery..salt and pepper sqiud..no salt and no pepper flavours..feel cheated..

This is the best Vietnamese / Asian restaurant in North London for sure. Come here every other weeks. Their grilled pork is something you can't miss! Absolutely delicious and extremely friendly staffs!

Pho was like tap water with veg. Totally tasteless! Felt quite ill afterwards. Banana fritters were disastrous - one banana wasn’t ripe and the batter on both were thick. Apple fritters batter also inedible. When we told the waitress, she apologised but we were still charged full bill. Not value for money.would advise to steer clear.

Authentic Vietnamese food. A hot bowl of pho never fails to hit the spot. Spacious dining place. Nice deco. Lots of natural light coming in.

An an absolutely amazing place to taste the most traditional Vietnamese cuisine from original locals themselves! The food is very good and also not too pricey! I would definitely recommend the super cheap lamb chops rice!

Food was fantastic. Admittedly I stuck to the dishes that I'd usually order from a Chinese restaurant, but they made my favourite dishes even better than the majority of Chinese restaurants in the area. Definitely shot strsight to the top of my go to list of places to eat Chinese.

Had the crispy pancakes with prawn and chicken. It was lovely. So was the papaya salad. Plan on going back for Pho at some stage. The reason for 3 stars for atmosphere is that we were the only diners at lunchtime which was a pity.

I dined here with my family tonight and we all had the most wonderful meal. Everything was cooked beautifully and every dish had such amazing flavour. The staff were friendly and efficient and our food was served in a timely manner. We are definitely looking forward to dining here again.

I've been craving Vietnamese food this past week and they're usually too far away. Went to get kids uniforms and when we went to get something to eat, this was right there...like literally, next door. I couldn't believe my eyes, it was as if I'd won the lottery. I've had a lot of Vietnamese foods in various countries and they're rare for a reason...they keep it 💯 and this surely didn't disappoint. It was good we were the first when they just opened as kids were tired and a bit unsettled, so we were done by the time people were coming in for a relaxing dinner. Food was gorgeous and service was good too. I was so hungry that I even forgot to take picks of the starters ha. I'll definitely return here several times in the future and the fact they do take-out is even better, as can pick up on the occasions I'm going by. My mouth is still watery just thinking about the delicious dinner here😋

We live in a world where anything less then five stars is bad. But it wasn't bad. Service was top notch. The food was good. Had better, had worse. What stood out was the amount. Easily double from what a normal person would eat. Low hanging fruit would be having a clean table. The table itself was sticky. On the table was a big glass turning plate. That looked like the glasses of a four year old. Very greasy. A shame since it could have been an eye catcher in a positive sense. The plate itself had a nice Asian style fish engraved.

Good place to have a nice meal in a good atmosphere. I'll be back!

I was really forward to this after reading good reviews but I am so disappointed, there was more corn starch in the curry than anything else and the pancake was so greasy that I left feeling sick . This place has no resemblance of true Vietnamese food , don't waste your money

Went for a meal here as it was highly recommended. Very disappointed. The food (pancake) was dripping in oil and the curry was tasteless and gloopy. We complained and were told that's "how we do our food" . We asked them to knock some money of the bill and they were very resistant. Felt nauseous on leaving . This is NOT authentic Vietnamese food. Don't waste your money here.

Had Veggie summer rolls, along with Tofu Chilli & Lemongrass, and Szechuan Tofu version/dish etc, food was flavoursome and decent portion size, the waitress was knowledgable on the menu and was friendly/polite. However I feel the Vegan option could expand slightly, hence my 4* rating. But I do recommend eating here.

I'm a fan of the Vietnamese culture and when I saw this restaurant open I couldn't wait to enjoy the Vietnamese cuisine. Tonight I had the most wonderful dinner. I ordered the Pho Special with beef, chicken, and Prawns. It was a delicious traditional soup dish. To go with that I had the Summer rolls with prawns. For a drink, I had a J20 Passion fruit juice. It was a wonderful dinner. The interior design is a combination of oriental and modern. The restaurant is clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It was very special. Thank you for making dinner a joyous occasion. I highly recommend. ^_^

We drove more than an hour away to Gardening Club in Crew Hills for buying flowers and plants and then looked for Vietnamese restaurant nearby for our dinner on Sunday . It came up a few but we chose Viet Chef and we were impressed. It is our first time in this restaurant.Foods are so delicious. Its decor looks nice and clean. Staffs are friendly and professional. Price is acceptable. I have already recommended my family and friends. We are definitely coming back even it’s more than an hour away from my local

Good Vietnamese food, with some Chinese additions. Especially liked the Aubergine dish. Lovely lady helped to explain the menu and served us the food.

I love this restaurant. There’s plenty of choice on the menu. The staff have time for you and you never feel rushed. The restaurant is spacious, well appointed and the tables are a good distance apart from each other. Most importantly, the food is scrumptious and reasonably priced. I recommend the house red.

I really struggled to find authentic viet food in London until I stumbled along this place. I really loved the banh xeo / savoury pancake, as well as the goi cuon / prawn summer rolls and of course the vietnamese iced coffee. Would like to come back sometime to try out the different flavours of hotpot! 😊

Fantastic takeaway experience. Everything arrived hot, fresh and packed very well. The food was outstanding. We had a pork chop which was cooked perfectly. Soft, juicy and not dry or chewy as common with other Vietnamese takeaways. All the other dishes were amazing too. Noodles, rice and chicken - full of flavour but not overly salty, perfectly seasoned. We are so happy to have finally found an amazing takeaway. Thank you!

Good food and good selection to choose from

Really good authentic Vietnamese food and decently priced. Especially loved the cha ca la vong (fried fish) and banh xeo (savoury pancake). The owners were also very nice people and lovely decor. Overall I would highly recommend this place if you're nearby and fancy authentic Vietnamese food.

Great food. Lovely starters, amazing duck and beef marrow broth soup. Finished off with the silken tofu and burnt sugar tapioca, 3 colour dessert and a Vietnamese drip coffee. Recommend it all! And great, friendly staff.

Avoid this place like the plague!!! The worst customer service I have ever experienced. When I ordered I was told that I couldn’t have tofu and prawns in my noodles because it was “too hard” and then that they couldn’t deliver and I couldn’t pay any way other than cash. I checked that I would get the 10% discount on take away printed on their menu to which they said “no”. Despite this I had guests and ordered anyway as we had already decided what we wanted. When I got there I pointed out my experience to the manager and that I wasn’t happy. On the counter in front of me was the menu stating that you get10% off for take away. I pointed this out and asked why they would still be advertising something they were no longer offering. The reason given was that they hadn’t had new menus printed. I Found this unacceptable and said I wanted the discount. I hadn’t planned to do that until I saw that they were still advertising the offer and my view was that I was entitled to it. I wasn’t happy in view of the fact I had already had to comprise. In the end the manger fleet begrudgingly said I could have the discount. This meant the food came to £40.32 and of course he was very insistent that I give him the 32pence. As this was cash only and all I had was a £10 and 2 £20 notes I said that would have to do. In response I was given a bowl of change and no £5 note. This really was the final straw and I said that this was insulting and very poor customer service. It was at this point that another member of staff snatched the food from me and told me they “didn’t want to serve someone like you”. This member of staff shouted it while a family was eating nearby. I was shocked and to his credit the manager took the food off her and gave it to me. Though he did say that he didnt care if I took it with me or not and I could take my money and leave. At this point the female member of staff then tried to take the food saying I would “leave a bad review”. I pointed out that taking the food from me would get a worse review and it was rude and presumptuous to suggest I would lie just b because they had treated me so badly. The food was fine, average but not bad. I will never go back of course and do not recommend it.

Frozen spring rolls, bland pho and gloopy curry which needed more seasoning. Customer service to be desired. I won't be back.

Went here for my Birthday and the food in general was ok, in the middle probably a 7/10 or 6. The service was good they were kind and greeted us, then the food arrived in a couple of minutes after ordering. In general the food was nice and the service was good, but we ordered a few things and the bill came out to £122! I've eaten at better places for less than half of the price. Everything was good but its quite overpriced But if your willing to pay a bit it's great.

Had a really nice dinner here. My main was bun su with bean curd, very nice especially with a few cold beers on a hot August night.

I like this restaurant and its staff. Well worth a visit in my opinion. Food and Service are good, staff friendly. The only place in North London I've had better Vietnamese food - and only just at that - is Vynam in Finchley.

Was so looking forward to this place and the food but a let down unfortunately. The summer rolls were ok but the sauce a little bland. The king prawn dish in lemongrass and chilli sauce looked amazing but tasteless and nothing special.

The food was good. However, the noodle portion was tiny.

We decided to get a delivery. The food was very good quality in terms of vegetables. Fresh, well cooked and not greasy at all. Really impressed. The rice was nice and chicken and sweetcorn soup for starters one of the best I have ever had. The chicken curry was average - the curry flavour not that sophisticated. I have given it 3 stars as it was disproportionately expensive and you could only pay cash for takeaways. So, on balance, good food but wouldn’t return at that price - would expect way more.

It was my first and only visit a few months ago and i forgot to leave a review at the time. The food was decent, not the best but tasty. However, it was the utter rudeness from our waiter that will deter me from every dining here again. My boyfriend was the only one that was acknowledged and welcomed, i was completely ignored. When i ordered, no eye contact was made and my boyfriend had to confirm what i was ordering. When i asked where the toilet was, the waiter responded to my boyfriend even though i asked... Of course when the bill came it went straight to my boyfriend. I also was not acknowldged when leaving. I was invisible. Don't know if this is down to culture or tradition but i hated it and did not make a great dining experience.

Came for lunch with a friend & her baby today. Great food and great experience! The gentleman working entertained the baby for a while so we could eat our Mains at the same time and have a catch up. Really kind gesture and very much appreciated!

Now known as Viet Chefs - Yummy Vietnamese food and great service. The ambience is great and we would definitely visit more often if it wasn't so far away. The owners and staff are super nice and friendly.

Easily the best Vietnamese restaurant in North London. I am glad the owner has updated the menu adding even more Vietnamese dishes. The whole family enjoyed their meals, especially the children who loved the stir fried beef pho. The pork chop rice and the steamed rice pastry are thoroughly recommended.

Takeaway meal. Food arrived on time (a Fri evening) and everything was great especially the half-duck. Ordered hor d'oeuvres, duck, 4 dishes plus rice and it was just right for 4 people. Would definitely use again.
