Large beautiful historic pub! Lovely staff and a great selection of food and drinks. There is a record player upstairs that is free to use with a selection of vinyls to choose from. Downstairs there are board games which are really fun to try out.

We went for a roast after hearing great things about this place : it did not disappoint! Amazing food. Great service . Friendly staff

Went in the final of the euros for a family meal. Was expecting it to be chaos. But we were served promptly. Staff had everything under control and the food quality did not suffer due to high demand.

The food was amazing!! I had a beef roast and it was the best pub roast I’ve ever had. Will definitely be coming back with friends!!

Horrible food and we had to wait nearly 2 hours ! . Arrived cesar sallad full of mayo and fried stuff! Houmus was not nice at all! But the horrible part is the waiting !

This was the worst Christmas roast dinner I have ever had. Everything was cold, Gravy was like water, Turkey was processed. It was really not what I expected. Please don’t waste your money.

Annoyingly they brought the 2nd course while we were still eating first. then when they brought the food it was cold and the Yorkshire puddings were overcooked. Waiting staff not happy when we complained . It was only half full so dont undersnad how they got timings wrong . I wont rush back .

I had a brilliant 30th birthday party here in the Boulogne Bar upstairs! The food was brilliant and the staff were all super helpful and kind (Den and Matthew are lovely). Everything was so easy. I would 100% recommend this place for a party!

Highly recommend the Bull & Gate for any function you have. The food is great and the team there work hard to give you the best experience. We went to the Bull and Gate for our work Christmas lunch and they are at the top of my list for any future functions.

Bar area was buzzing, great atmosphere. Restaurant area was perfect. The baked Cornish Camembert was delicious as a sharer to start. My fish and chips main was crisply battered and great. Everyone else enjoyed their mains, I can’t remember what they had! The service was friendly even though it was super busy. Would definitely visit again.

We had our wedding reception at the Bull and Gate on 21/10/23 we booked both of the function rooms ( the dining room and the upstairs bar) We had the most perfect wedding reception. It was the best day ever!! I can’t thank the bull and gate staff enough. They helped us with everything and were so friendly. The food was incredible! And the service was personable and slick. This venue offers a really intimate atmosphere for loved ones to gather and celebrate with. Drazen was incredible at making sure everyone had an amazing time. The pub is beautiful and unique. I highly recommend if you are planning an event or looking for unique wedding venue this is it and you will not be disappointed. I honestly cannot thank all your staff enough. You are all awesome! This pub is a great place to watch sports with several large screens and a large selection of beers. Food is simple pub food but made really good and the staff is super friendly. Always a good day out!

We got married at the Bull & Gate and had a fantastic time. The main room and the Boulogne Bar the pub offers are perfect for such an event and the management team (Drazen) made everything possible for the day to be the way we wanted. The food was very tasty - way beyond what we were expecting and drinks & wine selection great. The staff was very flexible and helpful supporting the organization of the day. Very underwhelming, would not go back. Went with a friend who was visiting so we could have a Sunday roast - I got the roast beef, she got the vegan roast. The food took about 30 minutes and both plates were dry and overcooked, and the gravy was really thin. I did tell the waitress that the food was dry, she apologised and said it was probably because it was towards the end of the day...? We had arrived at 7pm. Not sure if that meant that the chef was therefore tired and couldn't care less but oh well, at least she was polite I suppose. Overall really disappointed - if you're looking for a good roast this isn't the place for you!

My Fiancé and I had put down a deposit months back for our wedding and were told that they were re-vamping the packages and we would hear back in a week. That turned into we'll hear back in one month. After that month, it turned into next month. After another month that turned into the end of the week, another month passes and still nothing, they were not responding to any emails or communication. We were being completely ignored, and as a result ended up cancelling our booking and requesting a full refund. We got a response to that in under 24 hours, zero apology. Absolutely abhorrent communication, do not trust them to throw an event, especially as they can't be trusted to even reply to paying customers. Do yourself a favour and go literally anywhere else.

The pub is beautiful and the staff are all really friendly and it was nice and calm (for a Sunday which was a pleasant surprise). The service was a little slow but not a problem if you're talking lots in a group. The Sunday roast portions were big which was great, but I was a little disappointed with the lack of flavour. Everything looked beautiful, it just lacked flavour a little bit. The desserts were not made in house and were a bit rough round the edges. It wasn't a bad meal, I just think I had higher expectations for the flavour. But the staff were all lovely, nothing against them!

This is a great pub to visit before going to the forum, staff are friendly, great selection of drinks, the dining room is decorated in what I would call an industrial type of decor, the food was great best pub I have been to in ages !!

I chose this place as I know it had good quality food and a great atmosphere and once again it was fantastic. Delicious food, friendly staff, excellent portion size and good range of drinks. I took my parents who were in their 80s and they loved it. A great place for all age ranges. Delicious starters and generously portioned mains. We actually had to leave some food as we were stuffed! Harrison was extremely helpful in the lead up to the party and everything was perfect on the night! The room looked gorgeous with the surprise of being lit with tea lights & staff on the night were great.The guests really enjoyed the food and drinks and many were very complimentary about the venue. All in all a great success and many thanks once again for all your help in making this a memorable evening for my son.

Aparecí aquí antes del concierto de Struts y me sorprendió gratamente. Es un hermoso edificio y tiene mucho espacio con muchos asientos. El gran salón de arriba es la estrella del espectáculo, aunque con sofás increíblemente cómodos y la sensación de un hogar señorial. El servicio fue amable y había mucho personal, por lo que no tienes que esperar mucho para que te atiendan. Mi única queja sería los altos costos de las bebidas. Una pinta de Estrella y una pinta de Red Stripe llegaron a poco menos de 12. La comida también parecía increíble y si alguna vez vuelvo, llegaré antes para tener la hamburguesa y las patatas fritas que me hicieron babear.

Called in for a drink with my wife last night prior to the Quireboys gig at the Forum. Won't be going again as this was the most expensive pub I have ever visited, £11 for a pint of bitter & a bottle of cider. Extortionate!

Had an hour to spare and fancied a drink. Tried a different pub down the road and waited to be served for a few minutes. Left there and found this gem. Really friendly staff. Great choice of whisky. We will return and eat next time.

We were looking for a typical Sunday pub lunch with the family and heard good things about this venue, we were not disappointed large portions of traditional roasts and the largest Yorkshire puddings you could imagine. We will be back.

Came to see a show at the O2 Forum next door, and stopped off here for a few drinks.

We had our wedding party here and hired the dining room out for 35 guests or so. Organising this with the team at The Bull and Gate was smooth and relaxed - they were experienced, easy going and could accommodate all our requests. With a wedding there is often a lot to organise but we could delegate many of the finer details with no worries.

Ordered two Sunday roasts which looked very promising given the phrasing on the menu (goose fat roast potatoes, double yolk Yorkshire etc).

A visit here for Sunday lunch is like no other place I know! We had a table for 6 and had the AMAZING "Big Bull roast". Well, they say "a picture paints a thousand words" so just feast your eyes on my photos!!! Not only is the food plentiful (3 whole chickens, pork spare rib chops and roast sirloin of beef), it was deliciously tasty and had ALL the trimmings, including pigs in blankets, crackling, goose fat roasties amongst the usual ones. Fabulous selection of veg - we didn't need to order any sides, but we love the cauliflower cheese so much we couldn't resist it! So our table consisted of grandparents, parents and a teenager and all were totally gobsmacked when the boards arrived!!! The chef here certainly knows her stuff and the waiting staff were attentive, happy and obviously enjoy their job! Great atmosphere here in this beautiful venue. This is our favourite place for Sunday lunch, even though we don't live in the area, but well worth the half hour drive to get here! Great selection of wines too btw!
