Buccaneer Bar in Blackpool

We recently decided to have a meal in here for convenience after some fun on the arcade machines in Coral Island, but we really wish we didn't bother. We ordered the chicken tikka masala which was completely bland with no flavour, chewy chicken pieces, and watery rice. Also £2.25 for two small poppadoms that were so salty they were inedible. The other dish ordered was fish and chips, which again was extremely bland, flavourless, and the batter on the fish was really soggy. The mushy peas may as well have been described as pea soup because they were so slimy and runny. The service was okay.

We popped in to have a refreshing drink and we were pleasantly surprised by our friendly welcoming. The pirate on duty try at day was fabulous and great with kids. Nothing was too much trouble. We had snack food and it was good and the atmosphere was brilliant. We will return. Thanks Jack

Was on a trip to coral island and popped in for lunch. I had burger and chips which was very nice and my partner had the steak and mushroom pie with chips which she enjoyed. Place was clean and tidy and Wcs were very clean. Will definitely pop in for food again in the future

Unfortunately it was exactly as I should have expected but for some reason it seemed like it was going to be better. I had a burger and it was really poor - not badly cooked but a really low quality roadside van type meat burger, which was a shame as the menu made a point of saying how it was 100% beef and "quality standard beef" etc... I wasn't the only one who thought this as I overheard another customer say the same and for close to £15 when you add the one slither of bacon for £2, it felt like it should have been better. Worth noting that the photos on the menu are not representative of the food, nor do they claim to be which should have been another red flag to be honest. Otherwise it was OK but I wouldn't recommend it for food. Not bad for a drink in a family friendly environment though. Staff and the apparent manager were generally OK, but nothing stand out. I also found it a bit odd not being able to order drinks with food when the bar and food till were both quiet, I can imagine it different when really busy but when empty it should have been straightforward to order food and drinks together.

Fantastic bar - staff are friendly and helpful and the meals are absolutely beautiful. When looking at the menu thought they were a bit overpriced but when the meals came out to us we could understand. You get loads! Two of us had lasagne and it was absolutely gorgeous - never tasted lasagne like it. One had the lamb shank which was thoroughly enjoyed - the meat just fell off the bone. Brilliant food which did not take long to be served. Brilliant staff who were all friendly. I would highly recommend a visit.

We are here for the weekend to watch Mrs Browns Boys called in here tonight as it was showing open on line . It didn’t disappoint I went for the Sunday Carvery hubby had a burger & chips kids under10 eat free but we didn’t have any grandchildren with us . We came to Blackpool for a 2 night half term break with our daughter & 6 yr old grandson, and we ate both nights at the Buccaneer Bar. The Bar is decorated beautifully, like a pirate galleon, we have been to Disneyland, Florida and it is on a par with anything that they do decoration wise. Staff were great! The food was yummy, especially the lamb, which fell off the bone. The price for meals was surprisingly good & kids eat free which was an extra bonus. We would definitely recommend, & would eat there again next time we are in Blackpool! Thank you!!

Go here every year for dinner twice in our 4 night stay. Love the atmosphere and food. Very organised, wait to be seated, order food at one counter and drinks at bar. Food arrived very quickly, hot and tasty. Combo sharing platter is our favourite. Staff very friendly. Only downside is they’ve taken jelly beans away from ice cream, my son’s been enjoying them for years!

Came for tea and the food was amazing and the price for the food was well worth it, the atmosphere was great and the wait time was super fast and the bar staff were so friendly will definately come again, i had the lamb henry and my partner had the gamon, prortion sizes were excellent.

Came to Blackpool for a family day out for the illuminations and went for lunch in coral Island at the buccaneer. Even though it was busy we was seated straight away , we went and ordered the food and drinks and we didn't have to wait long and the food was excellent, kids aged under 10 eat free with every paying adult so our food bill worked out to £46 for three adults and two children its such good value would highly recommend eating here

Visited here just before our returning home coach at the Bus Station. Witnessed a lady with a young boy in a wheelchair, along with an Assistance Dog, being turned away. The lady got the paperwork out to prove the dog'ss legitimacy, and the dog had a coat on stating Assistance Dog. Shame on you Staff! In addition, kids eat free all day every day, however, try and order a side only, as a snack, (chips for £3.50) and it's not allowed as you haven't ordered a 'Main'. Jobsworths and Stupid Policies. Won't return.

Staff are extremely welcoming, helpful and curtious. Captain Jack made my daughter feel so comfortable when she asked for a photograph with him after having a pirate face painting 👍

If you have kids this place is great due to kids eat free. The food/carvery is typical pub fayre and does what it says on the tin. £12.95 for the carvery is about average. Meats were Beef, Turkey and Gammon/Ham. Beef was nice actually but the Turkey was somewhat dry and the gammon was quite fatty and fairly bland - texture was a bit off too. Along with the obligatory Yorkshire pudding came the vegetables of which three out of the seven choices were potatoes (Roasted, Sauté and Boiled) The veg itself consisted of Cabbage that had been for some inexplicable reason Sauteed with mushrooms. Carrots, Peas and Cauliflower Cheese. Cauli was tasty if somewhat undercooked (anyone remember crudités?) The rest were just, well plain. It was nice however you can get a better choice and value for money elsewhere. The bar prices were a shocker .. I had 1 pint lager shandy, 1 pint of Dark fruits a Pepsi and a Tango/Fanta and it came to £18.50!!

I was disgusted with the overall service at the Buccaneer, the manager was rude in the way he approached us when we asked for another table due to the cleanliness. The manager also sent a member of staff over, Laura to take out order who wanted proof of our 8 year olds age for the meal deal which I found disgusting infront of other members of the public I found it really rude. When I asked to speak to the manager with regards to how I was approached the reply was. We are really busy and haven't got time for this so leave if you want. How disgusting. I had to show a picture of my sons passport for a £4.50 meal which I did out of principal due to the way I was approached and shamed in front of people. Laura the waitress then came over and said "So you ordering or not" I find this really unacceptable and I appreciate we are all going through unprecedented times, however I found the service disgusting and the manager needs to learn some customer service skills.

Managed a trip to Blackpool before current Tier 3 restrictions. Ate here 2 nights and was very impressed. Queueing system in place so no overcrowding, track&trace app used, hand gel at the door, seating well spaced and table service only. Have to say all staff very pleasant and service great. Think the food even better than previously, certainly hotter.This is a favourite place of ours and feel at home sitting there, go every year as our son loves the slots.

We went into the Bucaneer for a carvery as part of our 7 year old Foster child's birthday. There were three special needs children with myself and my wife. The first surprise were the prices. For every adult meal, a children's meal was included foc. The second was the food was really good and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The cherry on top though was that a member of staff heard about our Foster child's birthday and another member of staff dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, had his photo taken with her before announcing her birthday to the restaurant. They all sang happy birthday to her and then he finally gave her 7 packets of Haribo sweets (one for each year). She was so happy and couldn't wait to tell her school friends about it. So thank you to all the staff at the Bucaneer for making our experience a truly memorable one.

We called at the Buccaneer every day during our 5 day stay in blackpool.We loved the decor with its pirate theme. The food was really nice and reasonably priced. Buccaneer are using a table service during these corvid time, which we could not fault.The staff work so hard to try and make you stay as memorable as they can. All staff were helpful, polite and professional. Ignore any bad reviews as they are not all correct. The Buccaneer gets busy during peak times and the staff work relentlessly to try and keep things flowing, so during peak times be patient.Well done to all staff for making our stays so memorable.

Waitress seemed angry at us for even being there, another waiter dropped the drinks at our table without saying anything. Their staff watched us leave without any pleasantries, food was decent but service was so poor and staff were not approachable.

Took 15 minutes for any sort of service. Food was microwaved and bland. They take payment before you are served food i expect because the standard of food they are serving is woeful. Staff not interested.
