$18 for some lettuce leaves. What a rip off. You should drop the price/add something to the leaves to warrant the price you are charge. Perhaps someone at the top should go to The Olive Garden to see exactly what you get in a salad for a much cheaper price. We visited your restaurant in November 2021 and I mentioned the price to our waitress. The only comment she made was that she doesn't make the prices!! I wouldn't recommend you at all. You don't even respond to your emails!

We attended a function incorporating dinner in the restaurant. The waiter service was slick and efficient; the food excellent. Served to everyone at the same time with no discernable deteriortion as a consequence of catering for a significant number of people which occurs all too often at large functions. A great evening.

What a venue it turned out to be. The waiters were really impressive and the food was fantastic. Because of the size of the room there was enough space to get on the dance floor and boggy boggy boggy on down. Only critic is they could have attempted to switch on the air conditioning unit. It was really really hot, hence we had boggy near the side door. Apart from that all good

We use to go for the Sunday carvery a year ago and then it went down hill but we have been two sundays in a row now they have a fantastic new chef. The staff are attentive yet not interfering which I love. £15 per adult and half price for children. To start there is a table of beautiful salads with fresh salmon, prawns, meats pickles tomatoes and mozzarella and other yummy things or you can help yourself to a nice bread roll and the soup of the day which was beetroot and veg. My 2 year old couldn't get enough of it. For main you have a carvery with perfectly cooked roast beef, ham in or Turkey or you can order fresh salmon. Then as you walk along there is a lovely selection of veg with Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets and stuffing and the most AMAZING gravy I have ever tasted. A very kind chef that is very generous with the meat( unlike other well known brand carverys). For pudding there is again so much to choose from . An ice cream machine with lots of different sauces and sweets to put on, fresh hot made waffles, all types of lovely mouse's, fresh fruit salad and I believe if you ask a member of staff they will bring you hot apple crumble and custard. Such fantastic value that myself and my family have waddled out of here two Sundays in a row. This place is a must. Thanks guys for two lovely Sundays of not having to cook. Fantastic.

I wanted a meal without oil, butter or cream and this proved to be too much of a challenge. All food is prepared beforehand according to the staff so they couldn't even do a mash without butter. It took more than an hour and I ended up with a burger and boiled rice which was dull and boring. The waiter looking after bus (I think his name was Matt) was great and really tried to find something I could eat. In fact he was the only reason we didn't walk out. We didn't go back on the second night but asked for a refund as we had paid in advance and we couldn't face the drama. It's a faux Italian restaurant both in appearance and food (they don't even do pizza). Personally I'd give them a miss and go to Prezzo down the road where you will get a proper tasty Italian meal. At least that's what we did...

I have been staying at the hotel for over a year and as you can imagine it can get quote frustrating not being able to cook for yourself and always having to go out for dinner. I am also someone who really tries to live a healthy lifestyle and therefore going out for dinner 3 days a week was killing any chance I could have of a healthy balanced diet. Saying that, the staff and chefs at Buca Di Beppo have been the must accommodating restaurant to this need and have, at any opportunity possible, made me a healthy dinner. The following staff need to be given a special mention as they have been the ones who have made my visits every time I have come into the restaurant: Kim, Maddy, Anita, Adelina, Sarah and Laura. I would recommend a visit to the restaurant, the staff are great and the food is good too.

Please understand this review is restricted to the sunday buffet. After being seated you go to look at the food on offer, there could be hot soup, the cold buffet table, the hot sunday roasts usually with a choice of 3 meats with all the sides, then choice of deserts. The cold table has meats, salamis, breads, fish, pies, ready mini dishes, sides of olives, min pickled cues etc. The hots as described, the deserts a variety of mouses, ice cream crumbles, the wriet avoids the crumbles cos they are drier than sand, Chef do you taste your food ? But generally, very good value for money and we do enjoy going. The service is usually friendly without being obtrusive

This restaurant is situated in a nice modern hotel. The food however is very average.I went for Sunday roast, it's all you can eat and so I will say it's good value. Its in a hotel so the Decor is nice & like all good hotels there's a big lobby where the kids can run around and you can sit on a nice sofa. Also there is a nice bar to have that Sunday beer before you sit down. The starters are made up off cold meats which are poorly laid out on a small table with tongs that could not grasp a loaf of bread never mind slim cuts of meat that look like they have just come out of a supermarket packet. The salads are in small individual plastic tubs that they really should not be in. The Sunday roast is ok but there is only a small amount of veg to choose from. The dessert is poor, it's school lunch dessert I'm afraid , chocolate mouse or lemon Cheesecake AGAIN in these small plastic containers. They really should use glass!I have dinned here twice so I'm not saying don't go, I'm just saying is average. It is good value, so as the saying goes " you get what you pay for ". And it is all you can eat so those with a big appetite will definitely see the value!

I visited buca last year and have now had the opportunity to revisit and reevaluate my experience so wanted to update with a new review. I went to buca for a 1.30 lunch booking on Sunday with three friends. The restaurant was busy already there were lots of people who obviously cans to the village specifically for the carvery. Previously the presentation had packed lustre but this time everything looked fresh and well laid out. Our server was very friendly and gave us good seats whilst letting us know about today's soup and the special dessert, this already was shaping up to be a better visit than the last. We sat down and waited for the crowd to die down as there were lots of people at both the hot and cold stations. Going up to the cold station there was lots of choice, prawn cocktail, mozzarella and tomato salad with mackerel fillers and cured meats along with a good selection of dressing and pickles. Moving on to the hot counter everything looked fresh and hot and there was a choice of three meats which was great as last time there was only one. The chef was pleasant and the food was really nice including all the extras such as stuffing balls, sausages wrapped in bacon and Yorkshire puds with all the gravy and sauces to accompany each meat. The dessert station had three options all looked good and I know there was a hot dessert as we were offered it but we're not told if this was extra. Whilst much more satisfied this time there are still some things they could do to improve, when food needs replenishing it is not done quickly not instinctively, rather more because there are people obviously waiting for it, the carvery chef had to come out from the counter to ensure the soup area remainded clean and there were enough bowls which means I did wait a while for him to notice me and come to carve the meat. My biggest disappointment is that there isn't a hot vegetarian main, unless there was and we were not aware which meant my two diners who were veggie only had vegetables.Overall for the price the menu is good value and the resturant is clean and the staff are friendly. Suggest you get in early to avoid disappointment maybe 1.30-2.30 when everything is available and on quick replen.

Once we were seated by the guy at the door it was nice to have the waiter (Chris) come over and introduce himself. We chose to order Garlic mushrooms and chicken liver pate for starters. We both chose the Buca burger for our main. My wife's mushrooms were ok and she didn't mind them at all. However the same can't be said for the chicken liver pate dry, grey, brown on the edges and tasted bad!!! The waiter came to ask how the food was and i declined to comment. I said to my wife lets just enjoy the main. I mean you can't get a burger wrong..... can you? Well Buca you did just that. Never in my life have i had such a tasteless burger, neither me or the good lady ate it.This time when the guy came to ask how the food was I told him. Disgusting starter followed by a bland and tastless main. Chris went to see the chef to let him know and the most annoying part was when he came back he lied to me saying that when the chef goes to the butchers next time he will be sure to ask for a better seasoned patty. Come off it!!! It was clearly a frozen burger it should be the chef who knows what the food is like by regular taste tests and better seasoning. We were offered a microwave pudding as compensation by the manager, we didn't want compensating I was just being honest when asked. Another member of staff confirmed that the burgers are delivered frozen just to confirm my suspicions. Please don't lie to customers to cover the fact that the food is just BAD! I would stay in a village hotel again as the hotel is clean and the staff are very nice the hotel also boasts some very good facilities which we took advantage of. Overall a good break just pick one near to other food outlets or like we did on the second night McDonalds.

Booked for 6 people via open table for what was advertised as a 4 course carvery. Only saw 3 courses, not sure what the 4 th course was. Service was non existent, the waiting staff hid behind the bar and we kept having to find them to order drinks, clear plates, serve the carvery meat. Starters consisted of bagged salad leaves pushed into plastic pots, tiny prawns in tasteless cocktail sauce, tomatoes and mozzarella, bread, cold meat. No cheese! Nothing suitable for children at all. The carvery meat was either dry, and the roast beef was dripping in blood. The veg section was limited the cauliflower cheese was raw. The gravy consisted of diluted bisto granules, watery and tasteless. Only 2 options for dessert lemon pudding or chocolate pudding, or some fruit. No waffles, no ice cream. There was an apple crumble but lacked sugar and was too tart. Non-existent soft drink menu, and overpriced soft drinks we later found out. Kids didn't eat at all. Avoid!

The only downside to this meal was the wait between the starter and main course. The waitress had forgotten about us and as we were chatting away, we hadn't really thought about it. The waitress came over and asked if we had eaten our mains and we told her we hadn't had them yet. The manageress was extremely helpful and offered us an extra drink or some money off our bill. She told us to decide at the end once we had finished our drinks. She was extremely apologetic considering we didn't make a big deal out of it, so hats off to her. Our meal was gorgeous and we may have even fitted desert in, had we not have had to wait so long for our main course.

We used this restaurant as we were staying at the Urban Village Hotel which was attached to the hotel. We had booked it in advance with the hotel reception so it guranteed us a table. We were only a party of two, but they made us sit on a table which was squashed up in the corner, and one of the seats was a bench seat, and it was most uncomfortable. Bearing in mind there were hardly anybody else in the restaurant and when we looked around there were plenty of tables for two, which were a lot more pleasant. We opted for the set menu, which we thought had a good selection of choices for each course. As a starter I had stuffed mushrooms, whilst my husband had the pizza bread, both of these were very good.As a main, we both picked the minute steak which carries a £5.00 surcharge. When these were served, my husbands steak was very good, however mine was inedible. We called the waitress back who offered a replacement. This took forever and by the time it came out my husband had finished his dinner. The second steak was completely overcooked and was like tough boot leather. We called her back again, and she didn't seem too happy. When we told her this could not be eaten she then offered to change the cut of steak to a fillet steak. Therefore finally, 35 minutes after my husband had finished his main course I got the course I could eat.We didn't bother to have the sweets as it was so late and they had already ruined our plans for the evening and to make it worse, the hotel stay and the dinner had been part of my husbands birthday present. We felt totally let down by our experience and we said we would never eat there again.Sharon & Jason.

Just eaten in this restaurant as the menu in the village hotel on sight pub wasn't great.Really disappointing. Very fake atmosphere and service, food wasn't great and then there is an automatic 10% service charge !!I wouldn't have left a tip but they take that choice out of your hands. Definitely wouldn't bother again.

We did not have starters. I had a chicken dish on a bed of pesto but the pesto was like a pale green tea, not very good at all. My husband had a tuna steak which was very good. The sticky toffee pudding was ok, a bit like a microwave meal and covered in rather too many nuts. Wine was good.

Breakfast was pretty good. Previously the choice was limited and the eggs were obviously powdered. Staff were very pleasant and the pictures on the walls interesting.

No problems with the breakfast; albeit a standard hotel buffet, but the evenings are poor. No excuses for not cooking to order; the tables are rarely full which tells its own story. Asked for 5 minutes after a starter, then when we said we were ready for mains they arrived within 2 minutes with the pasta still on microwave meltdown.

We stayed at the hotel and came here for dinner. I'm vegetarian and normally Italian places are great for me - it's one of the most veggie friendly cuisines around. But this menu had hardly any veggie options - just pasta in tomato sauce or a salad. Even most of the starters were non-veg. I went for a mozzarella and tomato salad - which turned out to be two small pieces of cheese and 3 slices of tomato - for £7! A complete rip-off. In fairness I should say that the starter size cheese flatbread was huge and excellent value for £6. The prices and portion sizes seem to be wildly disproportionate.I should add that the staff were excellent - very friendly and attentive. Also the desert was pretty nice. But please - add some more vegetarian options.

12 of us had a pre Xmas night out. The clue should have been that there was only one other table taken in the restaurant, in spite of the hotel being busy and there being no other restaurants within walking distance!Start with ordering drinks, no lemonade or tomato juice in the hotel! What kind of hotel with an in house pub runs out of basic soft drinks? The service was friendly, but unbelievably slow. Some of the food needed sending back, it just wasn't cooked (Minute Steaks)These then took 15 more minutes to arrive (This for a minute steak!) by which time the rest of us had finished. The bill was initially overcharged by £90Virtually no real options for Vegetarians (not many options for meat eaters either!)Overall, if you live nearby, go elsewhere. If you stay at the hotel, order a cab and eat at one of the many nearby restaurants or Pubs (Battleaxes is about 1 mile away, and friendly with good food)

Also had breakfast in the restaurant as staying in the hotel. Good selection, hot buffet not very hot, but staff happy to heat it up in the microwave when asked.

Visited last week with a friend for the carvery sunday lunch. Amazing food. The table of starters was vast smoke salmon, prawns etc. Four choices of meat to choose from and a vast array of vegetables all cooked brilliantly. There was a choice of desserts and hot waffles if you wanted them also. £14 each you cant go wrong its far better than the rotten food you get at a Toby Carvery and the cost for 3 courses was fantastic we thought. Highly recommend this. In fact we booked our Christmas dinner this for this year it was that good.

They may have had an Off Day but Average is fair. Slow Service and cold food, I'm not talking about the the salad and pudding which was quite nice. We had a really nice starter and pudding but were let down by a cold meatball. In fairness management were very quick to remedy and make good, but it really was off putting.

I recently stayed in the Village hotel and ate here with my wife on the first night.Made a reservation at check in for 1900.I'm not a huge Italian food eater but the wife is and this was convenient after a long car journey. We just wanted something to eat, drink and have an early night. We had a mix of pizza's, pasta's and steaks that we shared. (Can't remember the names.) They were all fine but not amazing.Friendly waitress. It was very quiet with just another grown up family of 4 a few tables away from us and they did nothing but get on the poor waitresses back all night. When the waitresses would go back to the kitchen I would hear them snigger and say they just were trying to get money off their bill. A real obnoxious, loud, in your face family that most people try to avoid.Due to the hassle the waitress was getting, she did kind of forget about us as we were quiet but this resulted in us waiting a while between drinks and a very long wait for the bill.

I went to the Italian restaurant for an evening meal, as I was staying in the Village hotel. The staff were uninterested to say the least - waited for 3 young people to stop chatting behind a screen before they even seemed to notice me there, and didn't get a very friendly welcome - in fact the young lady who showed me to my table was still talking across to the other member of staff! I was going to have the salmon, but saw on the menu that it was "cold" served with hot potatoes and that the sauce was also cold. So I chose a pasta dish. Whilst the waitress told me it was homemade, I think it was homemade out of a jar with a few frozen garden peas chucked in. Tasted very "gloopy" and artificial. Wasn't asked if I wanted a desert, coffee, extra drinks or anything. I felt like they wanted me out of the way so they could continue chatting amongst themselves. Sorry - must do better.

Staying in the hotel on business. Ate here for dinner, breakfast and lunch over 1 day. Just okay.Restaurant has a diner atmosphere about it. Bright lighting and plastic table cloths...which is okay but possibly a change in the evening to creat a less rushed affair.Good size portions and all tasty enough.Waiting staff are a bit sullen. Over efficient perhaps which made the meal rushed and unfriendly. The waitress took 3 tables orders in a row without going and getting drinks or cutlery.

We were warmly greeted at the door, and asked if we had been before. When we said no, we were shown around the Chefs Table, and the Carvery section, passing the wonderful display of desserts as well. A four course meal for £14.95, amazing value. Fresh tasty soup with warm bread, a delicious selection of cold meats, smoked salmon, prawn cocktail etc etc, as much as you like, a 3 meat carvery with the usual vegetables, (fab Cauliflower cheese!!) a waffle station, selection of hot and cold desserts, again as many as you want!!! The Hot apple pie with creamy custard was mmmmmouthwatering! Friendly attentive service by cheerful staff, all in all, a wonderful Sunday lunch, which we will be repeating often as it is such good value for money!!

Went with my husband and 2 year old daughter for Sunday carvery! One waitress was friendly and helpful, the other waitress was rude and sour faced. Asked the rude waitress for a glass of white wine, she looked puzzled and repeated white wine? As if asking a question? I asked if they had any children's drinks or cartons of juice, again puzzled and a bit taken aback? She eventually suggested apple juice and brought a adult size half pint glass full! A bit much for a 2 year old, but at least she put a straw! The roast meat was OK. But the Salmon!!!! How the chef managed to make it dry, overcooked, slimey and greasey all at the same time was beyond me.The mashed potatoes were also slimey and inedible! The rest of the veg was a bit boring, boiled cauliflower, broccoli and carrots! One good point the roast potatoes were really nice!

This Italian themed restaurant in the Village Hotel made a nice change from the standard restaurants that can be found at Village Hotels elsewhere. The menu has a wide range of starters and mains to pick from, so if you like Italian food you will be spoilt for choice. The restaurant is well decorated in line with it's Italian theme and had a nice atmosphere during our visit. The meals we had were very enjoyable and well priced. All the service we received was very good and we couldn't fault anything. We also had the breakfast in the morning, where there was a decent selection and to choose from.

10 Family members for a birthday meal - took over 3 hours and in the end we asked for our birthday cake back from the kitchen which the staff were supposed to bring to the table. We were fed up after waiting so long we celebrated elsewhere - and no apology until we asked for one. If you book a room with dinner included the set menu is pretty poor and portions very small - designed to encourage you to order additional items from the menu. The Italian chicken main is literally a single chicken breast on a plate as a main course and nothing else, just a single piece of chicken. By the time you add any extras such as basic vegetables, fries, salad or pasta you may as well have ordered from the main menu.Tip: don't book a room with dinner included. You'll go hungry.

Don't visit this restaurant. I ordered turkey as it's Christmas time and it turned out looking like a school dinner! The roast potatoes were half cooked and the gravey was like water. For £13 I would expect an awful lot more. I have never been so disappointed and the wine was off I'm sure. Unfortunately , having waited so long for it to come my friends and I ate what we could and we should of really sent it back but we were starving. I was really disappointed and we each spent £30 on what I can describe as my worst ever meal!
