Staying overnight at the hotel prior to a Hospital procedure, booked a table for 1800hrs when it opened. The staff were attentive, when it came to the wine list, we hit the same problem again as we did in the bar, the wine list, no Australian or NZ wines. We ordered a Spanish Rioja, we were informed it was not avaliable last one went on the weekend. We ordered an Argentinian wine red Argento, eventually it appeared , with the apology that it came direct from the cellar stone cold. We had ordered our starters, so we left the wine until it got nearly to room temperture in our room and had two Gin and Tonic's as our apertif. The meal was pretty average and a shame because the staff on the floor were friendly and doing their best . In summary I should have bought snacks in Starbucks.

Had buffet breakfast here twice during our stay at the hotel. The Saturday morning was great as we arrived at 8am as it was quiet. On Sunday morning, however there was a queue of at least a dozen people due to a lack of staff meaning tables could not be cleared. During our meal we sat and could see at least 6 tables waiting to be emptied whilst customers waited outside. They also ran out of yoghurts and there was a large queue to use the one slow, unpredictable (bread or burnt) toaster. On both visits the staff were very friendly and helpful but it did seem unclear to us as to who did what role eg who was checking rooms and taking payments, who was serving hot drinks and who was cleaning tables, which was probably why the problem occurred with the queues. No manager was visible on site, except for a woman who asked if the waiter wanted help, then she ran off again!

Got told about this ‘fine dining experience’ whilst staying at the hotel so had to give it a go. Took us 5 minutes to be acknowledged even when there were 4 staff at the bar talking to each other. Had to take my name and room number before we were allowed to be seated? Sat down and told someone would be with us to take our drinks order. 10 minutes the same guy arrives and takes our drink order. 5 minutes later returns saying the gas had gone so couldn’t have what I wanted. 10 minutes later drinks arrive and get told someone would take our food order. 15 minutes later the same guy checks back to see if we’ve ordered- we hadn’t- as we start to order two of the items not available. Decided that it probably wasn’t the best place to dine and paid for the drinks and left, no apology only a ‘try the pub they serve all night’. Went to the pub section of the hotel to find they’d stopped service! Service is insane no communication, constantly ignored and staff who haven’t got a clue what they’re doing! Thank god for justeat.

We stayed at the hotel for a few nights and went for a family meal on the first evening at Buca Di Beppo. The restaurant ambience is fine, lots of interesting pictures and the food is ok if not very warm and a bit overpriced (not unusual at hotels). The part that really lets this place down is the service which is absolutely diabolical. The waitress had no manners and no understanding of the basics of good service. We felt she had no training to help her on what to do (she was trying to remove plates when some people were still eating!). They forgot our toddlers drink & dessert and one of the coffees afterwards. Honestly, the worst possible service - please train your staff on standards! If you are staying at this hotel go out to eat!

Stayed at the attached hotel whilst away with work. On the positive side the food was good enough and the presentation was the same. The prices are a little high for the standard of food but this is often the case for onsite hotel restaurants. Unfortunately our server didn’t have a lot between the ears. She managed to get something wrong on every course (including the drinks) and we had to ask for the bill on 4 separate occasions. Bit of a shame overall. Could be much better.

Tomato pasta dishes watery slop and no flavour( as though pasta not drained), waited an hour for the starter to arrive , ordered a glass of wine when we arrived , asked a further 2 times for it over 30 mins .. when it still hadn’t arrived , eventually asked for the manager as I got nowhere with the waiter . Asked for a spoon and Parmesan for the pasta waited 20mins and had to ask again .. didn’t eat it in the end it was awful .. partner had meatballs .. they were rock hard and in watery bland tomato sauce. Very disappointing. So many bad reviews but nothing done about it ? Why not ? Reported to the manager that night , along with several other dissatisfied customers .

Stayed at the village hotel in Blackpool we booked to have dinner in the restaurant. Ordered some starters and we only got one starter served asked for the other starter and the waitress said she would look into it. She never came back with the starter instead came back with the main meal. The burgers were lovely finished and waited for dessert. The kids got their ice cream but we never got the sticky toffee pudding. We asked the staff to cancel the starter and the dessert. Finished dinner and they did not even have any information from the hotel that we had already paid for the dinner when we booked. We had to show them the email to confirm that we paid. Breakfast was lovely and organised however we will never book dinner with this restaurant again!!!!

Went here for a Sunday carvery lunch. 4 courses for 12.95. First course tomato and basil soup, tasted fresh, homemade came with some decent bread and butter. Starters were left out for a long time, the place was quiet. Not much choice other than small pots of salad, meats and pate. The main carvery was not up to standard at all, all 3 of the meats (ham, beef and turkey) were fatty and tasted cheap. The mash was either powdered or frozen mash pellets by the taste of it. However the main aspect of a carvery (the meat) really let the whole meal down. Finished with a chocolate mousse which was suitably average to finish the meal off. Won't return here extremely overpriced food and drinks without the quality you would expect from a village hotel. Two people I went with had free meal coupons, it's all well and good giving out free meals but when you are coming in to a bad meal, free or not, none of us will be returning and people will ask about our experience which will be negative. The waiting staff were polite and informative all except for the person carving our meat who thought it appropriate to swear at us and tell us how he's had a long hard day. Overall rated poor because the soup was very nice but didn't compensate for an entirely spoilt meal.

The restaurant isn't what you'd expect of a hotel of this standard. The decor is dated and the seats are hard. The garlic bread arrived within 2 'minutes of being ordered and was very doughy and oily - felt like it had been warmed in the microwave. The main courses were bland. My pasta tasted like supermarket own brand, and the creamy sauce was watery and flavourless. The sticky toffee puddings were lovely, but you can't really go wrong with the type that you throw in the microwave, and there was only a small spoonful of ice cream. On the plus side, the staff were pleasant and attentive, but overall it was overpriced and underwhelming. We won't be returning.

It is £12.95 for a four course meal with soup served at the table and then help yourself to a lovely cold buffet which included a prawn cocktail and smoked salmon, then there is a carvery followed by either a cold dessert or when we were there you could have an apple and rhubarb crumble. It is a very nice restaurant with lovely chandeliers. We ate in the Italian restaurant on the Friday night. We hadn't booked but when I checked in the person on reception advised it wouldn't be a problem. I went and booked a table for 2, the waiter advised that he would take our name and room number and to come back in 20mins which was fine. When we went back to the restaurant and waited to be seated a rude woman who I can only assume to be the manager shouted over from behind the bar "we have no tables to which I replied we have a booking her response to that was again "we have no tables". At this point a very nice waiter came over and found us a table. We ordered our starters which were both fine, when my main course came I had ordered cod it turned out it was monkfish I was given which wasn't cooked. The waiter politely came and took it away but advised that they had not cod left and that I should have been told this. When it came to ordering dessert I ordered a hot fudge sunday to be told I would have to wait 15mins until the chef whipped some cream as they had run out to which point I told them to forget it. I would definitely not recommend eating in this restaurant. As for the room it was fine albeit a little tired and I felt the bathroom was very tired looking and not very clean. The restaurant is really lovely and just a little bit different, that's the positive point over! I bought my dad wowcher vouchers for here as a birthday present. 3 of us had stuffed mushrooms, all agreed was tasteless, and one had pate which was ok. Our finished starter plates were left in front of us for around 30 minutes, they were eventually removed(not by our waiter). We waited a very long time for our mains, again 3 of us had the same, this time the burger, again all agreed tasteless although the chips were ok, my mum ordered spaghetti marinara, in every restaurant I have ever been to this is a seafood dish, not here, it contains spaghetti, cherry tomatoes and the odd onion, my mum was unable to eat it! Again plates remained a very long time. The waiting on staff are all very young(no disrespect intended) they needed guidance from the restaurant manager, where was he/she? Not once did anybody ask how our meals were. Of course we complained, a lady in a suite and untidy long brown hair came to our table and said "I believe you want me", not my name is and my job title is! If this is your manager then no wonder you have a serious problem, show this one the door and get yourself a decent manager. Tables on either side were having the same problems as us, and even said I think someone must be trying to catch our salmon, their wait was endless. The drink bill arrived, £10.10, for one pint of larger, a tonic water and two small lime and soda.....really! Do yourself a favour, go to your local pub, it will be far tastier and half the price.

Came here for my birthday with my partner. Upon arrival they didn't have our booking but managed to sit us anyway which wasn't a problem. The restaurant it's self is wonderful, really spacious and inviting but that's as good as it gets. The food was terrible and far to overpriced. The garlic bread with tomato was lazy, some dough with chopped tomatoes thrown on, the calamari was a joke, two pieces with the rest just deep fried vegetables(avoid). Then came the burger, £15 for a burger! I have had burgers from pubs that were ten times better for half the price, plus it's suppose to be an Italian, why do they have burgers on anyway! The service was just as bad! When they first came to take the drinks order I was told peroni wouldn't be on for 15 minutes, which is fine but when I asked what other beers they had I was told to go to the bar and look. During each course not once did anyone come over and ask if everything was okay, considering it wasn't that busy. The only interaction was when clearing the plates. When my burger arrived I asked the same waiter twice( long Curley hair) for sauce which he didn't bring, I had to ask another waitress! I have been to many Italian restaurant over the years this is quite possibly the worst I have had. To sum up, it looks amazing, the food is terrible, the staff are un-interested and the price was ridiculous compared to others!

We were staying as guests in the hotel where this restaurant is attached. At 9.25pm we entered the restaurant to be told they were closing and we had missed last orders. We should've just left at that point. However there really is no other choice for a decent meal at that time in the surrounding area so I started to move into "kicking off" mode and the manager who saw my frustration accommodated us. I ordered their "world famous" meatballs and spaghetti. I'm a bit of a foodie so I was surprised this dish had passed me by!I soon discovered why they must be "world famous". It would actually be impossible to screw up such a simple dish in such an epic way. So hats off to them I'm sure they're really proud. Well actually I'm pretty certain they dont really care. They're in a hotel where the crowd has no options but to eat there. Without a doubt the meatballs has been played up more than once and had been microwaved to obliteration. It was almost impossible to cut them. I should've sent them straight back but I had to try it in my mouth. Mistake. I couldn't help but spit it back out onto my plate to the disgust of my partner. There was simply no time to reach for the paper napkin. I asked for the bill and the waitress informed me she wouldn't charge me for the meatballs. Damn right! THIS PLACE NEEDS CLOSING DOWN! Take my advice of your staying at this hotel. Take your own booze and food. And if you want to eat out head into town and try Beach Hut

Dinner included in our hotel stay at the bucca restaurant ...worst service at a restaurant this year and probably a lot longer than that. Reservation at 7:30 arrived a couple of minutes late and shown to seat. Not particularly busy, 7:50 and not had a waiter come near us for drinks or food order, went and asked at bar if we were to order food and drink at bar and were told a waiter would be right over. Supervisor who sat us came over shortly after and apologised saying she would have words with the server for our area. Drinks came another 10 minutes later ( 2 pints of lager thought they would have made effort to bring them quicker). A starter of pate and toast took till after 8:15 to arrive having sat and watched people arrive before us order, eat and drink while we sat watching. Main course came not too long a wait, food distinctively average. Had it not been included would have walked out. Told supervisor our thoughts on leaving having already spoken to her at start, did apologise taking our room number don't know why they never got back to us. not far off £20 for 4 pints of peroni which came in plain pint glasses yet saw that everyone else had the proper peroni glasses. Still don't know what server was ours as we got served by 4 different people. Dreaded going back in morning for breakfast as didn't have a spare couple of hours but thankfully was a buffet which was fine although as we went nearer the end of service a few items had run out.Italian theme restaurant .... Set menu not really Italian themed. Burger was below average but chips were okay.Would think after complaining that had not been served that some effort would have been made...unfortunately not.Staff totally disjointed, also saw waitress pulling unimpressed face behind supervisors back... Fair enough but don't do it in full view of customers. Would have thought that one waiter would be allocated a table so that service can be delivered efficiently (like they do everywhere else in the world) but just seemed haphazard and poor. From looking round the restaurant ( which we had plenty of time to do) we did not look like the only unimpressed customers.Would go back to stay at hotel however would not go to this restaurant even if the food was included.Restaurant only just over half full.....if it was busy we might still be waiting!Only got one star by default, would give less if I was able to.

I visited by a di beppo last night night for my friends hen doo. There was a large group of us as part of a Spa day. I have eaten here a couple of years back and was looking forward to returning.I have noticed that the prices have gone up here quite considerably. For somewhere that I usually wouldn't travel too without staying at the Devere I think the prices are slightly high for the selection/quality of the food. Also I think Italians should offer spaghetti bolognaise and a pizza selection....these were kno where to be seen on the menu. The staff were pleasant and the food was good and served hot. I would not rush to return back though as I think for what you get the prices are a little too high.

We came here on the first night of our stay! We thought toast was expensive but this took the micky! The food was okay quite nice but no where near worth what they charge the staff were not overly friendly either the place itself was interestingly decorated which drew us to it in the first place.

We thought that after seeing how lovely this restaurant looked after being at a wedding that it was worth a try. However the food was bland and lacked that something special. We also sat and watched a group of golfers return all their meals for being undercooked. The staff were very young and abit disconnected and seemed to be learning their way. For what we paid we expected a lot more than this from this premier hotel. Disappointed, stick to the Victory bar instead.

Front of House are pissed off with the kitchen and vise versa, you cannot have a good restaurant if your staff don't work as a team, Chef's have got to realise they are NOT the most important people in the world, you can cook all you want but WHO is serving it and WHO is washing your pots and dishes. The "Front-of-House" staff work hard, as I'm sure do the "Kitchen Assistants" but when the food is CRAP.....the food is CRAP and it's not a staff issue, it's the CHEF (Pub Cook) frozen food from Brakes?? and then "Pinged", shocking for what they charge. A Microwave Chef CANNOT be a Grill Chef.....miles apart.

We booked a tale for 4 for Sunday lunch and had the Carvery. There was loads of choice to choose from. In one area there was all the starters such as prawn cocktail, salad, cold meats and more. The carvery had a choice of Turkey, Beef or Gammon (or all three) with veg, mashed and roast potatoes and the biggest Yorkshire Puddings I have ever seen. The dessert area had a choice of Ice cream with sprinkles and Marshmallows, Lemon Cheesecake, Chocolate Mouse and waffles. You just go up and help yourself. Therfe are waiting staff for drinks etc. The food was tasty, there was plenty of choice and we all came home stuffed so that's a sign of a good day. We will be going back soon. Definitely recommend it.

We went just at the end of the service at 4.00pm. There was still lots of starters and carvery selection left but unfortunately the dessert selection was sadly depleted and there was only fruit salad left. I think that if you are paying full price you should get the full choice or not be offered a seat. There was far too much butter in the mashed potatoes and on the veg.Disappointing.

We were staying at the hotel and had booked in for an evening meal. Upon arrival the menu seemed largely uninspiring and they had ran out of a few items. Whilst we are normally not overly fussy with what we eat and don't grumble, the food was really not good. My carbonara appeared to consist of identical sized chicken pieces, frozen peas, possibly re heated bacon and a watery tasteless sauce and my husbands chicken and prosciutto, whilst at least hot, was essentially a Kiev. The drinks were also expensive. Whilst the restaurant staff listened to us and did give us a discount on our meal, which was appreciated given how little we ate, we essentially paid £50 for a bottle of wine and a garlic bread. The restaurant was busy and perhaps this had an impact on the quality of the food but this sadly isn't somewhere I would recommend to eat.

Just spent a lovely afternoon in Buca for their Sunday Carvery. 9 of us attended including 2 kids.Fabulous value for money 4 course meal for £12.99Starters - great cold meat selection, Pate, fish and salads.Soup - Fresh soup of the dayMains - Selection of Turkey, Beef and Gammon, with full selection of usual veggies. Difference is that you can go back for more meat, not restricted to one meat visit.Desert - Well if you are still hungry, there is a ggod selection of cold deserts, as well as Waffles (if machine is working, but waffle chef was really chirpy so you didn't mind a little wait) oh don't forget the apple pie and custard. The only thing that stopped this getting maximum marks and being picky now lol if they had a little more space for the desert table it would be nailed on. We will definitely be back, Thank you :)

This restaurant is in the Village Hotel. I ate here with a small party of people as we were staying in the hotel. The package we were on had a 2-course dinner included. This meant that we had limited choices. I opted for a starter of stuffed mushrooms. Instead of large flat mushrooms as I was expecting, I got button mushrooms with a blob of cheesy filling in - pretty bland. For main course I went for spicy chicken rigatoni. What I actually received was a very mild chicken penne dish. Tasted like very cheap pasta, the sort I buy when I'm on a budget at home - not what I expect in an Italian restaurant. The meal was also supposed to include a glass of Prosecco. As we were in a party, however, the waitress suggested she would bring a couple of bottles instead. No problem, except what she brought wasn't Prosecco, but a cheap Brut Cava. I'm sure I wouldn't have known any different had it been served in glasses, but being able to see the bottles, I felt conned at not getting proper Prosecco as promised. Overall my view of the restaurant was that it serves a purpose for hotel guests and makes little effort to offer good food and service. It's just very average.

Booked a table at bucca di beppo as it looked and sounded really nice, we were shown to our table snd tr seemed really nice, we were a little surprised as it was very quite but when we had tried to book a table for 8:00 p.m. we told that 07:45 was the nearest, we ordered wine, and then chose from the menu, We both understand that most places are catering for families and tats fine, but surely ifthe children are constantly screaming and parents sem to be oblivious, staff should step in as it seems unfair on other diners, we chose spicy chicken rigatoni for my wife & meatballs for myself, my wife enjoyed hers but the meatballs were very bland and tasteless, we also noticed a great deal of inconsistent Dealings from tte staff, some tables were asked if they wanted wine pouring ir parmesan chees and bkack pepper (standard in most Italian restaurants) and if everything was ok with the food, we received non if those, abd we hadn't given the staff any problems or complaints, i did want to mention these things and thought, we might get the opportunity when we paid the bill, no such luck!!

!7 of us (11 Adults and 6 children) sat down to a birthday celebration lunch for my daughter in Buca di Beppo. The Restaurant Staff had been informed in advance that this was a special celebration and allocated us an area of the restaurant where other diners (there was a Wedding Fair on that day) were not distracted by children running around. The 3 course carvery meal was very good indeed. There was a good selection of hors d-oeuvres to start off, and a warming cream soup was also on offer. There was an ample choice of carvery meats, beef, ham, pork, and turkey with copious quantities of vegetables available, Included in the price (£12.95) was a limited but nevertheless good selection of desserts. Although other carveries in the area may appear to offer better value, one must bear in mind that, invariably, carveries are individually priced and the addition of a starter and dessert pushes the overall price to a point where the three course inclusive meal at Buca Di Beppo offers very good quality at a competitive price.

I've stayed and eaten at other village hotels before without issue. But the service at Blackpool Beca di beppo was terrible. We booked in at 6.30pm and it took almost 2 hours in total. Well what can I say, I thought it was Halloween not valentines evening in this restaurant! We have been years ago when it was the De-Veres hotel and restaurant and it was superb, however now it's Buca Di Beppo stay away. The Hotel and spa facilities were fantastic, the hotel is getting a little tired however not too noticeable. We went for a combined valentines getaway which was, one night with meal included. We arrived yesterday dinner, used the facilities and spa which and had a great time, we then went for the meal in the evening, honestly Mc Donald's serve better food! The menu was set at £50 per head and the special was chateaubriand, (which they had the cheek to charge you £10 extra for) it was roadkill!!! The waitress bless her was so apologetic, she said the chef had over cooked it, the guy that cooked this was no chef! It looked like it had been cremated then run over by a Lorry, it was shocking. If I was the owner of this restaurant I would boot Mr Buca Di Beppo out! It's dragging the whole place down

Just back from Village Hotel, herons reach, in Blackpool, where the first nights meal was included. We've been before and it was really quite nice but this time the restaurant was dull, unkempt and just looked really tired and in need of an upgrade. The decor has not been updated since we started going around six years ago. The menu was poor and the food worse. Bland, tasteless and unappealing. Very cheaply made, not even as nice as something you would make at home for a quickly put together meal. Very disappointing and we will not be back. Staff were however very hard working and very attentive. Staff were apologetic and xould not be faulted.

If i order stuffed mushrooms i'd expect a decent sized mushroom. Not 8 of the smallest buttons they can find. My wife ordered a prawn cocktail which came with stale bread and she resorted to adding ketchup so she could have some taste. Her salmon was cold and full of bones i had a burger which was ok but not worth £15. So pleased i didn't order the steak i wanted because at £25 and judging by the standard i was sure to be disappointed.I dont appreciate 10% service charges especially considering the level of service. In all 2 adults and 1 child £70 we'd have been better off heading to mcdonalds

Thank you for your reply. I do now exactly what bruchetta bread is as I eat it often and it definitely is not a sliced piece of French baguette!!! This is the attitude that we experienced while we were there. And the staff were watching a video as I heard it!!! We went as a table of 4, the attitude we recieved was not very welcoming, when my daughter wanted some mayo to go with her meal she was told 'your not ruining your meal in my restaurant, we only serve authentic Italian food!', not angood attitude when people suffer from anxiety!. When we were also ordering they had no rice one of our choices so we had to change what we wanted. Our starter came and was suppose to be on bruchetta bread but was served on French bread. Not very authentic! We felt that we were being rushed to have our meal (our table was booked for 5pm and we were told when we arrived we had to vacate our table by 7pm which was no problem but we were being ushered out by 6pm). Staff standing at the till area watching videos on there phones. If we could have gone somewhere else for a meal we would have but nowhere else had any tables available. Would not be in a rush to return.
