Bubbles Bar in Northumberland

Loved this place in the 90s proper rock bar where you could escape the Ashington dross. But its now just now just a cesspit for chavs and the drinks are the most overpriced in Ashington as a 'bonus'

Staff made me and my girlfriend incredibly comfortable when having drinks there! Will definitely be coming back

Just because I've loved the British invasion from afar I'm partial to unique hideaways off the beaten path. Yes I'm Rock n Roll to the core and Bubbles has the goods.

Very small dingy bar and seating area, had a quick pint then gone

Teetered in and met faces with wise Crack. Kept my limit for once, but may James forgive me for my music choice. Fridays relaxed as.

Had a great night out then finished being in here had a boogie and a laugh worth a visit

It's ok. Always got on well with the staff. If you're mid 40's just be prepared to be at least 20 years older than everyone else though.. 😅 my date of birth not the bar's fault of course, but the bar attracts younger customers (and all the good and bad that comes along with that) Just so ya know.

Really enjoyed the open, (or, currently, bring your own) mic night. Had a few laughs, heard some good artistes and the staff were lovely.

Went with Gary Robinson, he said the Yorkshire puddings were not very nice. Smelt a little like a PE changing room.

Great music venue encouraging Original new bands. Good atmosphere. Excellent staff and choice of beers, Spirits and cocktails. Fantastic to see live music.

A venue I will always hold close to my heart. A lot of good times had here with a lot of brilliant bands and friends

Friendly staff, good atmosphere

I don't visit on a weekend night out as I find it in the small side, but I'm not the smallest people. I mainly visit after the football as they kindly sponsor a Sunday football team. Great beer and reasonably priced

Amazing!! Great for live music, a good boogie, great beer, ale and gin selection. Refurb is fabulous. Had a private function here which couldn't have gone better. Bravo!

We were stayin at the portland hotel,so decided 2 visit bubbles,as we love our live music,the band was the odd bunch & we were enjoyin our nite,some guy come & sat wiv us,cudnt understand a word he was sayin he was scottish & he was dancin & talkin 2 himself most the nite,I think he had mental health issues myself,but he was harmless,no bother 2 us at all,all that changed wen a load of young un's come in,I didnt like the vibe,sum young big built guy started punchin holes in the ceilin, so the scottish guy squared up 2 him,I tried grabbin hold of him tellin him 2 sit down cos I knew wot was comin,then it all just kicked off,ruined a gud nite,both lads got thrown out but the atmosphere was ruined by it all,i didnt feel safe,so we left,shame really cos band was really gud,we enjoyed it until they let the riff raff in,giv the place a tidy up & get rid of the idiots wreckin the place & u'd av a great music venue...

Been going to bubbles on and off for years as haven't always lived in Ashington. The staff are friendly as well as the manager the people are good as well virtually no trouble and it is well maintained

dirty , and i mean DIRTY ! looks like its not seen a lick of fresh paint since the 70's ,full of the local chav community on the weekends chewing their faces with whatever the fashionable drug of the week is , outside toilets you have to walk through a pool of piss to get to and the most catastrophic attempt at a mural of the 1966 world cup team you will ever see !

As a band member or audience member Bubbles is as close to a guaranteed good sized crowd as I know in the North East.

Always a good night out. The queue to get in on a Friday and Saturday night is a bit long though.

The best venue for local music. Neil does a fantastic job in getting the best acts and creates a great atmosphere in the bar.

Toilets are the worst toilets I've ever seen makes the ones on trainspotting look like luxury
