The Bay Horse Inn in Northumberland

We have become regulars over the last year or so going as a table of 10(kids and adults) but over this time we have never once had a bad meal or bad service. Michelle and Kyle are the stars of the show for customer service skills and always keep me right when I'm trying to order.... I'm always wrong! Great pub and staff and of course I will be back.

Absolutely unreal, come here all the time and is just amazing each time. Food is one of the best around. Good prices for what you get 👀 definitely recommend 100% for any kind of meal. Staff are also so friendly and lovely defo one of the best food places!

Really friendly staff. Meals were served very quickly and the steaks were gorgeous. plenty of chips and beef dripping gravy. will definitely return when Im back in the area

Amazing staff, amazing food. Child friendly too. Unfortunately not the best atmosphere on this visit due to workers fixing the roof directly above our heads and all we could hear was bang, bang, scrape. However this was most likely a one off and shouldn't affect anyone else visit. Menu is typical sizzler menu with lots of variety and something for everyone. Could do with a play area for the kids but they do supply crayons and colour sheets.

As Always the food was excellent and the service outstanding.

Getting a little worn needs updating badly prices are very good

Lovely meal a couple of weeks ago. Two meals for £9:50. We chose Gammon ,chips and peas and decent bottle of wine £10.99 Pleasant staff ,quick service .

Wife and I attended today. Was good to see place was thriving with people in beer garden most just enjoying a drink rather than food. a few in attendance for food inside . I ordered classic mixed grill with upgrade to sirloin steak wife had the steak and chicken combo. Sadly both had same complaint both steaks where supposed to be medium mine was well done and wife's was well well done. Rest of meats where at best fine. Wife had a 50% of voucher so we kind of just accepted what we had was ok for what we paid. However I sadly would have been complaining if was paying full ticket as it was disappointing. Used to attend regular years ago and yes it could be hit or miss if place was reaily busy but even on a bad day it was better than today. That said we will possibly try again at some point hopefully it can change our minds next time. MUST add staff where friendly and welcoming no complaints there.

Just popped in for a drink after work. The food looked good though.

Bloody disappointing! Booked a table in advance only to get there with (an infant) for them to tell us that someone's sitting on our table and they have a table outside in the far back corner if we want but it'll be over an hr wait! Very upset!

Good food and atmosphere for the most part. Slow food delivery at times in peak hours, nothing out of the ordinary though.

Great food great staff value for money great location will definitely come back again

Visit every week, tonight was very disappointing, ordered a surf and turf 5oz steak was tiny and 4oz of pure fat, asked the waitress for a replacement, she took plate away and brought it straight back saying its 5oz and thats how it comes. Ee have never had an issue like this before so was very disappointed

Came in for lunch, the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Very pleasant service and lovely atmosphere. The finer details of the interior could use some slight attention and TLC. Especially the ladies toilet. But that didn’t take away from a lovely afternoon lunch.

Mixed grill was very over cooked and miserable person behind bar taking orders . didn't even get apologie after I said it's only any good for the dogs and asked for a container to take meat home for the dogs.i do wish this had a place to show the pictures I took of this mixed grill

They did not have my first order. Steak was under cooked. Mixed grill didn't come with an egg. Friends mushrooms were totally overpowered with black pepper. Staff were miserable and quite blunt. There was no atmosphere and hardly any people in. Not a pleasant experience, I won't be going back anytime soon.

A 50 minute wait for food. No warning at time of ordering. Food was very nice. The pub itself is looking a bit shabby. Bar staff seemed more interested in the televised football match than customer service

Was greated by Julian, felt very welcomed, sat and had food even when someone in my group had a food allergen Julian went and got a tablet and went through very well which food on the menu would be safe for them to eat. Major props to him

We were looking forward to lunch as we had heard good things, the pub wasn't very full but lunch still look around 30 mins to be brought out, then two things were forgotten off a kids meal, we then finished and were waiting for dessert. 30 mins had passed and no sign of desserts despite there being only two other families in the pub, the staff were chatting and laughing to each other, we could see a waitress and possibly cook, flirting and hugging through the kitchen doors. After 45 minutes I went to the bar and asked how long the desserts would be, to be told they didn't realise we had ordered and they had thrown out all the checks so I had to tell them what I ordered again, the possible cook that we saw earlier came out and said it was his fault he had chucked them out, he laughed it off then went for a cigarette. Desserts came out another 15 minutes after that, the kids got brought out first then ours after so the kids had to sit and wait even longer for us to finish ours and were obviously bored and restless. Our booking was for 12 and we didn't leave until 2.45 as we were waiting that long. Very disappointing and not even an apology .

Food was great staff were great too. The place was just a bit noisy with the kids and the locals. It was at the end of a match day so it probably should have been expected but overall very good. Will definitely visit again and maybe adjust to five stars if better next time as everything else was great.

not much atmosphere at all was really busy and drinks were terrible

Stopped off on way back from visiting Wallington NT. I chose the large Surf and Turf which was really good. Service and staff were excellent. First time I've used a Sizzling Inn group venue and there are two near me, so will definitely be giving them a try.

Staff are lovely, bar has a great atmosphere and the food is delicious.

Haven’t been to the Bay Horse for a good while we’ve been going to either the Hungry Horse or the Willow Farm we had a card for the dining club which found out you are part of as well as others we go to and with you being the nearest we thought why not try again as the last time we called there was going to be a very long delay for food which they told us so we just left

Booked table was available on arrival. Staff friendly and willing to help. Food very tasty and service prompt. A very enjoyable visit.

Food was amazing greatly priced and was very satisfied I had a mix grill and all the meat was cooked to perfection and presented really well will deffinatly be back with my 7 dogs thanks bo, kirsty , Julian and Kyle for being so welcoming and mentioning that they are dog friendly

It's a lovely little pub with a nice little beer garden. The prices are what you would expect, but you can not complain. Will go back again.

The food we ordered was lovely & hot but unfortunately I asked for well done steak when I recieved it, it was not well done & I had to send it back.

Waren vor drei Tagen gegen 17 Uhr dort zum Essen. Die beiden Gerichte, Bratwurst mit Pommes für mich und Salat mit Hähnchenbrust für meine Frau, haben ca. 20 Minuten gedauert. Es war recht voll. Und dann hat die nette Bedienung auch noch den Salat auf den Boden geschmissen 8-). Kann ja mal passieren. Die Neulieferung ging dann aber sehr schnell. Und was soll ich sagen, beide Gerichte und dann noch ein Eisbecher waren recht gut und schmackhaft. Einzig die sehr begrenzte Auswahl an ENGLISCHEN Bieren hat uns nicht gefallen.

Turned up with my partner and children and was told there was an hour wait but the rather large fellow that said that was extremely rude especially when I asked was they waiting for the chef *the pub was half empty) and after the customer service received we imitately left and I've cam here for years safe to say never again.....

Had another fantastic day at the sarrens head pub I was served to a nice refreshing drink served by the fantastic ever ever barstaff the lovey Amber who is a fantastic worker at the sarrens head pub

My wife and I took our next door neighbours to the bay horse Inn for his 99th birthday treat the food was excellent service great very spacious inside as he has walking difficulties the staff were fantastic will certainly be visiting again

Good choice of draught beers and meals, at reasonable prices. Had a short wait for food, but accepted as advised when ordering.

Steak dinner was delicious! It was obvious that it was cooked to order - piping hot (burned my finger on the sizzler! - my fault!!!) and cooked the way I like it. Staff were lovely and a lovely guy at the bar used his app to get our drinks, since I had problems signing up for it! No sign of dogs in the restaurant/bar, thank goodness! Hope that "no dogs" is normal - if so we'll definitely be back 😃

Very helpful with our queries about how we could access the outside space with my wife's mobility scooter. Suggest a dropped kerb access from the path outside?

Popped in for drinks only, did not have any food. Couple of beers along with shots. Attended on a Saturday night as they do special prices on beers and spirits between 8 and 10 (I believe the times are). Only ever sat in the restaurant part and not the bar but the bar looks like it may be a bit on the small side.

Great service and highly recommended

Staff were very efficient and accommodating, I messed up my order but the lady at the bar was very courteous and patient. The sizzling skillet and mixed grill was served very hot and the meats were cooked to perfection. Can't fault anything, we eat several times a year in this chain and this was the best meal yet. It was clear that a good team were here tonight.

Beautiful pub! Outstanding staff, met Kyle as I was their amazing young gentleman he was so kind and caring making sure everything was ok. Kyle showed us outstanding customer service. Best service I have had from a bartender. Highly recommended visiting its a gorgeous pub.

The bay horse is a fantastic little public house and sizzling chain. Excellent disabled access. Food quality is excellent. The staff are curtious and very welcoming. My new eatery as the mixed grill was excellent

I can't recommend this place enough. After the seven oaks has become a disgusting place to eat, I now walk 20mins every Friday, instead of 2mins, just to eat here. Beautiful food, brilliant staff. If its busy when you get there, just wait. It's busy for a reason, and worth it.

Great service, great staff and felt at home 100% to the bay team

Been here twice in January with family and friends and booked to come back in a few days. I believe when people are so quick to complain and seek compensation over the slightest thing then it's more important than ever to let people know when they get things right. Both times we had a great meal cooked nice presented well and Reasonably priced. The staff were stand out for me they never stopped both times we visited. They all were polite and helpful. 100% recommended to anyone and as I say we're already coming back.
