Bua Thai Restaurant in County Durham

Food ok, but service very slow. Sadly we went for food and they had ran out of rice. Who really wants to eat a Thai curry with chips. Improvements needed regrading service and the noise and swearing that can be heard in the restaurant from the bar. It was like been in a bar full of sailers. Maybe a door needs putting on from the bar to restaurant? Bar staff was very slow. Repeatedly asked for menus, took 20 minutes to take our order from getting menus, restaurant was quite so would understand a little if it was busy. Food come out in dribs and drabs. My main come out 5 minutes before my husbands. These few issues need addressing and it could become a little gold mine.

Our usual pub was fully booked tonight so we were in search of an alternative.... this was such a find. The food was incredible. I had the green Thai chicken curry - it genuinely was the best Thai food I’ve ever tasted. The service was also excellent and the restaurant was beautifully presented. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the food!

Thai wouldn’t usually be my first choice but tonight I’ve had one of the best curries I’ve ever tasted. (I had the massaman) The chicken and vegetable gyoza were also divine and like nothing I’ve tasted before. My friend had vegetarian options and also thought they were fantastic Fabulous friendly service, spotless and excellent value for money too. Will definitely be back!

It was our first visit to the restaurant last week for my dad's birthday. Really pleased with the experience. The staff are so so friendly and polite. Lots of vegan options too and they were will to accommodate for us amd explain anything on the menu. We will definitely be back again!!

I love Thai and have been dreaming of an authentic Thai. Little did I know it was on my doorstep all along. Thank you bua Thai, I will be back. The Tom Yoong absolutely amazing as well as the massaman curry. Wow!!! Sooo authentic. Can’t wait unlit next weekend 😍😍👍

The best Thai food I have had outside of Thailand.The host is very welcoming and very informative of the food on offer , also the waitress was very good with serving and answering and questions we had.The main person in here is the chef that cooked all the food to very high standard.they have even extended the eat out help out scheme through September giving 25% off the food cost.You must give it a try , thanks guys.
