George's Fry Box South Hetton in County Durham

Ordered from here for a takeaway, having received a leaflet through the door. Sadly, their websites / affiliates were so poor that the ordering process was complicated. Not just that, £5 delivery charge for a 3 mile delivery is excessive in comparison to competitors. The delivery was very slow too (ordered on a Sunday evening). The food was redemption, though. It was delicious. Would use again as a special treat maybe, because the prices are higher with the delivery charge. Strange, considering we ordered on the back of their own leaflet through the door!

This is my local chippy. Each time I go in, we can have a bit of a laugh, so all the staff are friendly. The food is good, and looking at others' food that looks appetising too. Food generally is cooked to order, only really the chips may be cooked in a batch before! So great food, great staff and good value.

Ordered a donner and chicken mix with salad and chips and wrap. Order came without chicken. Rang up extremely polite. Said they would deliver again. Only expected the chicken but got the full meal!! Service and food exceptional as always. This is the place to go!!

Used to love this place when it first opened with the owners that had it but when it got took over it went down hill the price you pay for the size of the food and the food is horrible and i waited 30 minutes for a mix batch to get mad and all 3 workers were on there phones standing about not doing anthing y i was waiting for food that should have took about 5 minutes to make i will not go back here again not happy I be using murton fish shop from now on this

It was the worst fish and chips I have ever had I will not be going back there a gian discusting £14 it cost it felt it was off this morning I have all ways had fish and chips there naw since the took over whent dawn hill 👎 neads closing dawn if the suveing like that all the time plus carnt understand them as well other ones who had it spoke English

The food is very good but they need more staff and noticed that when staff touch their faces or wipe their brow with the back of their hands they don't wash their hands after.

Can not complain the chips were amazing and the kebab was extremely tasty

Lovely food. Piping hot every time it arrives. We had a fault with the wrong order arriving last week but staff on the phone quickly got it sorted and couldn't be more apologetic.

2nd time ordering nd 2nd time they have missed an item of my order without an apology the pitta in the kebab was also soggy as left in the kebab meat too long. Doubt we will order again

Been going there for sometime now ... recent order food was cold .. missing foods from order... customer service ???? It is a shame was always lovely might have just been a one off

1st time I've tried this place, only because my regular was shut, chips seemed to have been cooked in veg fat, it has to be beef for quality, fish was very thin slice, batter dreadful, avoid, but they seemed very busy for kebabs & pizza, maybe its worth trying those, upto you, not a patch on the lane chippy

Fantastic food Best chippy around, driver friendly and always gets our food delivered on time, can't wait for Saturday.

Tried this chippie on my way home, had chip butty and curry sauce, no complaints . Best one I have had in a while, will be definitely going there again, staff very friendly as well.

Great food, fish and chips really nice and the mixed kebab pizza is spot on (my favourite). Great service too, been going there since shop opened and never had a reason to complain. Definitely recommend .
