Looks like a back street Cafe over priced for what it is and what you get service wasn't good one person taking orders which is poor when it's busy with a few tables to wait on waited 30mins just to take my order atmosphere was like a soup kitchen toasties were lovely

My friend took me here recently and it really is a lovely little local. The menu is varied and the food is tasty which is why I was shocked at the price, it's all so cheap, 8 quid for a roast is really great value! The staff were lovely and the place was absolutely spotless. If you're looking for a cafe with no pretentious, a place where you can just be yourself and not have to perform like an animal in a zoo, then this is the place for you.

Lovely cafe to get yr breakfast at, all fresh food, staff are dead canny and serve you quick, take away too , if you cant see what you want on the menu they'll sort it for you, nice fresh sandwiches too salads ,cakes ect highly recommend x

I had an incredible dining experience at Chimes Café in Peterlee Bus Station! The home-cooked food was absolutely delightful, and the corned beef pie, chips, and gravy were exceptional. A great cafe experience. Good food, reasonable prices and friendly staff. It's so handy being in the bus station as I can't walk very far. It's my favourite place to visit for breakfast or lunch. Breakfast is great, traditional English.

Excellent cafe in a great location right inside the bus station. The staff are very friendly, the food is excellent, the menu is large and it has a great layout with free wi-fi. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely homemade and hot food! Generous portions. Service is fabulous. Very attentive waitresses, never had a problem. We come from Sherburn hill to Chimes!

Visited today for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Only looks small from outside but lots of room (3 rooms in fact) nicely set out and lovely clean cheerful place. Wheelchair friendly. Friendly staff and tasty food. Average price so don't break the bank for a tasty meal. Selection of childrens meals £3.50 each. I'll definitely be a frequent customer.

I found this place as my car was in garage and I had the mince and dumpling it was that perfect I came back and every time I do come they never fail the customer service the food and the the staff are all fantastic I been using cafes for a while but chimes cafe is one of the best I found

Table service reasonably priced freshly made could not fault. Great little cafe ideally located just inside bus station try it you will not be disappointed

Both wife and I had cooked breakfast only thing wrong was I don't like mushrooms or tomatoes so I asked for extra egg if possible which ever she didn't say no I have had it in past other than that everything was great

The Breakfast was Divine, cooked to perfection. The toast was just the right amount of toastiness, the Hash Browns were Glorious, the staff were wonderful, allowing me to swap and change components of the breakfast. 5 Hash Browns = 5 Stars

Always a busy Café with pleasant staff who serve good food, but I think it's too early to not wear masks or take down the the Safety screen down from the counter.

I am not from the area popped in this morning to meet a colleague but I have to say staff are very friendly service was fantastic very clean including the toilets great selection of food we recommend 😀 👌

Passing through Peterlee to get bus to Newcastle stopped to have coffee and Quiche which was excellent staff lovely and a special Thank You for going over and above finding and returning my friends phone ..will definetly visit again .Stay safe and Thanks again .

Breakfast's are freshly made (apart from the beans/tomotoes) the staff and k8nd and helpful. As soon as this café opene i was staight there to try them and i've been going there a few time but due to Covid-19, i haven't been there unfortuntley (sorry i can't spell, i'm still half a sleep)

Local family business. Lovely home cooked food and outstanding desserts. Specials board change frequently from roasts, curries and homemade pies. They serve freshly make wraps and baked potatoes for vegetarians. Also hand cut fresh chips and the ice cream sundaes are always lovely. Staff are always so friendly. Highly recommend.

Nice friendly cafe with reasonable prices

Only went to buy a cold drink fot the bus but even though the queue was small it took too long to get served. Definitely not somewhere to go when you are in a hurry.
